Extremely helpful, and is always willing to help you outside of class. Makes a lot of jokes during class! His exams are some what difficult. If you pass his exams, you will def. be able to pass his final exam. Take him. You wont regret it. He's def. down to earth!

Math is not my strong suit so I sat in on Mr. Miller's class to see if I could handle taking it in a later semester. He was witty and approachable and made the material seem interesting. I was surprised at how well I followed along even though it was late in the semester when I sat in. I would definitely take his class!

Mr. Miller is one of the best Math teacher's at QC. He is so helpful, and is always available if you need extra help. His class is enjoyable, and he will re-explain the material if you don't understand. I am no longer one of his student's, and he still helps me with Math. Take him! You'll be happy

Absolutely fantastic teacher. Mr. Miller is affable and funny, but underneath that is a sharp intellect and a really excellent mathematician. He does test for understanding of concepts, so make sure you fully understand the topics before heading in for tests.

Good teacher who is highly motivated and loves math. Teaches well and explains the more challenging questions slowly. Always willingly answers questions. Exams are fair for the most part but sometimes there are questions that most of the class cannot answer. However, he will grade them fairly accordingly. Personally, thought his class was easy.

He?s a great professor with an affinity for math. He holds lots of office hours and is really helpful and nice. He'll explain it to you as many times as you need. this professor is great, he really explains everything and if you need to he will go over what you didn't get. he has a lot of office hours. also he gives extra credit on the tests. you really can't be a lazy student though, you still need to pay attention. drops 1 out of 3 tests

I took 220 with him and he was really good because he actually taught lesons. For 505 there were barely any lessons, just group work. Tests were fair to hard. But final was really Hard Try not to take too many other math classes while taking this class. Miller loves mods for some reason. Make sure you know them. Overall it was a good experience.

505 Problem Solving is not an easy course to teach, but Miller made the course fun. It is a lot of group work trying to figure out problems. Miller rarely gives lectures, but he will explain anything you need (after he gives you time to work on it).

Always gives his best while teaching & do not hesitate to go and ask for help during his office hours. Also very very helpful in the class & outside the classroom. Make sure you do your homework.

EXCELLENT LECTURER. Motivates abstract concepts with clarity. A mixture of number theory, group theory, set theory, and graph theory into one course. A must-take for computer science majors, math majors or simply for math nerds! WARNING: This is NOT a plug-and-chug/memorization course: those are located for in the Biology Department for pre-meds!

The best teacher I've ever had. He's always available to help. I don't have him anymore but he would still help me with other math classes. He's like a stand up comedian,which makes the class exciting. Class might be hard cause he makes you think but just do all his homework and show that you care and he'll give you a fair grade.

Very engaging lectures, no need for books- he provides printed notes for the entire class which is nice. Answers emails quickly, will stay after class to help. I call this "thinking man's math"- u need to be clever on exams, st I rarely need to do in college. I got to use my brain for a change, fun class.

Excellent professor. His exams are given to test your understanding of the concept and theory. They are much harder than your standard Math professor, but you learn a great deal of work. ALWAYS ATTEND. and DO THE HOMEWORK. if you try and cram, you WILL fail. However, he is a very lenient grader. I'm definitely taking him again

If you are pre-med, stay away. This course is NOT for you typical pre-med memorizers. If you do want to LEARN (something pre-meds overlook) and APPLY ideas, then this is your course. Actually, if you are pre med and complain about points, he will probably laugh at you! By the way, this guy is a genius and can stump any physician!

He's a fantastic teacher. He loves his work and it shows in his teaching. 220 is truly a fun class if you're good at math, it's like learning the foundations of mathematics. I would highly recommend him. Plus, he's hilarious. Just don't take anything he says personally or you're gonna have a bad time.

Easily my favorite math class. Dave is one of those teachers you do not find too often. He is the kind of teacher that is is not only brilliant, he is also absolutely hilarious which makes this math class feel less threatening. Dave will be there for you if you need him. Dave is a great professor that goes above and beyond to help his students understand the material. Is the class easy? Not necessarily but Dave will do as many reviews with you until you get the information. He's given up his thesis time, his lunch time, even his logging time to help make sure that his students are well equipped for all exams.

Dave Miller is an incredible professor. To be plain and frank, he does everything he should and more. He makes the information interesting and the class entertaining. He delivers like a comedian. He cares passionately about his students, going out of his way to help. Put in the effort. Show him you care, and you will be rewarded for it.

Honestly didn't know why he was rated so well based on the first few weeks of class. Just wait until stuff gets difficult. He's a great professor, definitely expects you to learn everything. Been wanting to take Miller for the longest time since I heard how excellent he was but his class were always full. Finally got the chance to. I must say, he is an actual easy grader and gives as much as partial as needed. As for teaching, there are times were he is too vague. I believe Miller is more for people who self-teach themselves.

Dave is by far my favorite Math professor at queens college. The most impressive thing about this professor is his ability to simplify complex topics into very relatable and understandable forms. Attendance Is not mandatory but if you skip a few lectures you may find yourself having to teach yourself from the textbook to keep Up.

Makes(hard)abstract course easier and manageable. This is not an easy course and he makes you feel good about earning a grade rather than just memorizing. Always offering extra help to students during hours he is normally not on campus. He's funny and lecture is an interesting discussion. Really he just wants the best for his students. #Goals

He's a very hard professor and to be honest at the end you might feel like you deserved better. However, if you're in college to learn this guy is a must! He's a genius and makes every second in class interesting. I feel 10 times smarter after taking his class even though at the end I felt like I deserved a better grade.

Really an unbelievable professor. I took him for Math 220 and Math 231 and I can tell you that you won't have a better time with any other professor but him. He's one of the most selfless people you'll ever meet. Always their for his students. He really wants you to do well. These courses aren't easy, but his tests are graded beyond fairly. TAKE!

This was the most interesting math class I've ever taken! But he does go at a very fast pace and the tests are challenging, so if you're not a math person it would probably be a hard class. The homeworks aren't graded so you technically don't have to do them, but it really helps when you do.

The funniest professor you'll ever take by far. besides that, Dave is super smart and always willing to help, you would obviously have to work hard to get a good grade but that's understandable. Make sure you do the hw and go the review sessions, very helpful! Messed up on the final but that was on me, take him.

It was my first time taking him but it seemed like everyone else knew him. His lectures are interesting and you learn a lot from them. Exams are hard but reasonable. His grading criteria on exams is amazing. He's probably one of the best math professors I've ever had.

Funny/Corny. Just copy everything down in your notes and read it 17 times until you memorize it. He grades fairly easily as he gives crazy amounts of partial credit. He cares a lot more about students' understanding of the topic than wasting time on definitions.

Although the course itself is difficult, but the teacher is always very patient. And every time we consider the students' learning situation. In addition, the examination is also a very basic mathematical problem.

This is a difficult course but Professor Miller makes it understandable by going over homework problems and telling you the topics on the exams. Most importantly, he gives you review questions from the textbook to study well for the exams! He is very friendly towards his students as well! Professor Miller understands his students and the material!

Great guy. He is a funny character, and not the most organized. But the level of genius is there whereby he can start lecturing using his head rather than keeping your face glued to a textbook. And he also has great relationships with his students.

Funny and enjoyable. If you're only taking the class to get credit then you're going to be putting in more work compared to other classes. Very knowledgeable but leads to a lot of material that is useless unless you genuinely want to learn in-depth. The tests didn't feel fair compared to the HW for practice. He might get salty if he sees this lol

Definitely recommend him! Very funny, just don't be insulted by his sarcasm. If you participate and show up to office hours, you will learn a lot and develop a great relationship. He's very into you understanding what's happening, so don't be embarrassed to ask questions. I found him a very clear teacher and am still in touch with him.

Listen for main ideas in the lectures and he is available online. Attendance is not required but he does mention certain things that can help you on the tests. Your grade is mostly based off of three tests but I think he takes into consideration participation. Midterms are surprisingly tough because of wording but the final is simply comprehensive

First Math Professor I couldn't fall asleep too. Always interesting and was better at teaching than 99% of QC. Three exams all graded relatively fairly. Only exams too be graded so that sucks but hes really nice and always available. The class is hard so actually study and don't slack off. I told you I'd make this rating Prof. Thanks for everything

Generous grader in the exam, lecture is good, but sometime seems lazy.

Only graded on three tests. Personally didn't like professor's style of teaching, but using Chegg and ChatGPT, I was able to understand the HW. If u understand the HW and show effort, you will pass. This professor will pass you if he sees effort. TBH 4/5 might be generous but he is a caring professor.

The best way to sum up his character is the term "Professional Yapper" in a good way though he cracks some corny jokes now and then, always makes class interesting and interacts with students. He definitely skips classes on purpose and uses excuses but thats okay, his teaching style is working on problems in class and give hw. Only graded by test

Professor Miller is the best Professor I have had at QC. As someone who had to drop linear algebra in a previous semester, I came into this class thinking I'd hate it, I was WRONG. He always keeps you engaged, makes HILARIOUS comments/jokes, and is super clear on what will be on exams. He is super lenient with grading. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN. 10/10

David Miller is one of the few professors at Queens College that can be described as a gem. This man weighs the exams in your favor, he teaches extremely well and in my opinion is the most friendly professor in Queens College. I'd take any class that this man teaches.

The professor has a unique teaching style, but with effort and using resources like Unstuck study, ChatGPT, and the textbook, you can succeed. He's a caring instructor who may skip classes at times, but generally provides a good learning experience. Just stay engaged!

My problem isn't necessarily with the professor, he's a fantastic teacher, it's with the way the course is taught. Flipped learning requires you to basically teach yourself everything and the videos are pretty fast paced. Professor was funny and a pleasure to talk to, and gives you a lot of material to study off of. The class itself, not great.

3 exams only (all of them are EASY) READ his notes before & after each class (easy & funny reading) PRACTICE every question provided in the notes PARTICIPATE during the lecture DO the homework if you do the above, you are guaranteed an A+ Prof. has made this class EASY, but you have to do the work. if in doubt, TALK to him please!

MILLER IS THE GOAT Idk why his reviews are so mid but he's the best prof EVER. His class can be tough but only because of the topics not because of him. He's very clear in class and the midterms directly reflect what he teaches. He's also so chill and accommodating if need be. Definitely take him!!!!!
