Very nice and helpful teacher, makes class interesting. He sends the exam slides to your student account. Definately have to go to class in order to understand the notes. Takes attendance on regular basis.

Best teacher that you would wish for in history, and maybe in other subjects too(I wouldn't know): he uses powerpoint all the time, notes are available online, explains everything with enthusiasm, all the test questions are from the notes! Attend,listen, study notes and you'll have a good grade!

he's a very funny teacher and fair. watch out for tests. you have to know your material but everything is covered fully in notes on powerpt. he also gives TONS of extra credit opts like going to plays or writing papers. good class overall!

STUDY FOR THE TESTS! i bombed the first test, and it ruined my grade. all the info you need comes from notes. no need for the book. he is a nice, funny guy. take advantage of the "rennie points." i wish i did.

I loved Dr. Mock he was sooo funny. he made western Civ interesting. His tests are easy if you take notes. His class was great, not as boring as I thought it would be. I am taking his EUH1001 next semester

At first I disliked the class b/c Dr Mock is sorta monotonous. But as the class went on he loosened up and tried to throw in some humor. He claimed you have to study '10-12 hours' to make an A on his tests, but if you listen to the lectures and take good notes, then you'll be fine wita a lot less. I like him and will take him for EUH1001 too.

He's a good teacher, slightly monotonous and very opinionated. He is humourous and does go into detail sometimes. It's more of a sit and take notes class. Tests are easy if you take notes and at least look at the book. Don't procrastinate on the paper, though, it's not a fun one to write the night before.

I am not a history person. Not a big fan of it. But I loved this class. Mock was the best history teacher I have ever taken. He made history funny and interesting. He alwasy had a sarcastic way of getting you to remember the important things in his lectures. Take his class!

i didn't like mock very much at first....all he does EVERY DAY is go over powerpoint after powerpoint and it's a lot of note taking because it's all on the tests. after i learned his techniques i got into the groove of things. i went to his office quite a few times and he was very helpful. i worked HARD for an A...expect not to breeze through w/

Dr. Mock is like the nicest teacher ever. He expects alot from his students, but he is willing to give alot in return. I have had him twice and he is great! STUDY STUDY STUDY! If you study and go to class you will get an A!

Fabulous powerpoints and I was impressed with his organization. Take notes like your life depends on it. Good extra credit opportunities. Some of his lectures were very intertaining and some of them were rather boring. I was able to pull my B to an A with the extra credit opps with little to no work involved.

Dr. Mock is great! He gives you study guides for every exam. All you need to do is study and GO TO CLASS! He is willing to answer any questions and help you in any way possible. Super nice guy!

I'm not saying he is an easy teacher but he's very systematic. The book won't help you, so don't buy it. Go to class, take detailed notes, and you'll pass. I took him for EUH1000 and 1001.If you show you care about the class, he'll care for you in return.

Students, I present the bad news first: beware of Prof. Mock's use of powerpoints and long lectures, also lots of note-taking. The good news: Mock presents subject matter with humor, and his voice is not monotonous. Neither book was necessary, don't waste $150. Western Civ II never fails to be interesting, and Mock allows ample time for questions.

Easy class. All powerpoint presentations. Take notes, study them, they are all you need. Dont need the book, never opened mine. Great prof. Nice guy and adds some humor to history.

I was a history major before this class. I absolutely hated the class. If you enjoying hearing lectures based from powerpoints then this class is for you; however, if you like class interaction -- do not take him. His tests require attention to detail [names of rulers, treatys, ect...] He's a good guy but I didn't cope well with his teaching style.

I really enjoyed this class, I can't wait until I take the Western Civ 11. My book was never opened so I wouldn't waste my money on another book for this class. Its all powerpoint notes and the tests aren't bad if you take the time to study for the tests. I got A's on most of them and one B. Good Luck, you will like him, he is funny and interesting

Great Teacher! I took the web-based course and he gives you everything you need to make an A. All you have to do isutilize the tools at your disposal. He was very helpful with any problems that I had and when he sees that you care, he will also. Highly recommend his class!

My favorite teacher so far. He's funny and knows his stuff. You'll write a ton of notes every day, but he makes the class so interesting that it's worth it. Study the notes well and you shouldn't have a problem on the test.

Awesome teacher. If you work at it, he will too. I took the online course, paper can be tough (I took him for both 1000 and 1001 and never made an A on the paper itself). Being said I took him for both, that should tell you something! Tests are easy and you're given 2 different times to take them, the longer you wait the more questions you have.

Dr. Mock was one of my favorite teachers I.ve ever had. He is not for everyone, but if you show up and put in a little effort you will get something out o his class. He even wrote a ref. letter for me a few semesters later. Very cool guy!

I took his online western civ class. If you are looking for a class that doesn't take up a lot of time, I would do this. I passed easily, because I ignored the class for a couple weeks, then spent 6-7 hours studying for the test, which I would pass easily. He has 4 exams, one is replaced with easy quiz scores, one final, and one paper.

Web based class. Awesome class. Quizzes are not required but the tests come straight from the quizzes. Very easy online class with one paper. Take this class.

This is my second class with Dr. Mock. He is a great teacher, and I would recommend him to anyone.

Awesome class and I hate history!! I had Dr. Mock for both West. Civ I & II web. Don't need the book as others have said. Just do the quiz questions, memorize them and take the tests. Easy A. Write the paper and have several people proof it!! Not an easy topic, but not hard to write if you start early. Wished all my classes were like this one

Took his online class during Summer 07 semester. Easy easy class. Do all the online quizzes and study the questions on them. He uses the online quizzes to make his tests. Take the tests early/on time and you'll pass. Paper was a little difficult but other than that easy class, good teacher. Take him.

Took the online class Fall of 07 and was a very easy class. Exams come straight from quizzes and the paper was pretty easy also. Class consists of 3 exams and a Final (which is also the questions from the quizzes). If your looking for an easy A then this is the class you.

for people who say hes not hard, im sorry but theyre lying! Hes a great teacher, dry humor, but funny. Lots of information but knows his stuff, however hes tough when it comes to grading your test!There are 2 essay exams and then two of your choice. Also, he talks very fast which makes taking notes difficult. Overall pretty helpful though..

Just do the chapter quizzes to memorize the questions/answers, they are the exact same as on the exam. If you take the exams early you only have to answer half of the questions, making it very easy to get all the questions correct. Book unnecessary. I finished two months early and could have finished earlier if I needed. Taking EUH1001 this summer.

good teacher, hated the class though. if you like parliament stuff and laws and riots, this is the class. Mock was a good teacher though, and the tests were relativly easy. final is just another test.

Took the course online and fully advise students complete the online chapter quizzes. These are a vital key to preparing for the tests.

I never opened a textbook. Just studied via the quizzes, and took the tests during the 50 question option. 98 average in the class. Easy if you know how to study. No problems with professor, but blackboard got annoying sometimes.

The class is not difficult. Read the material, take the online quizzes, and study and you will do very well. Dr. Mock is very fair, crystal clear as to what can be expected in the class and what is expected of the student. I will take him again and fully recommend the class.

Good teacher. Keeps you well-prepared for tests. No homework but is a good idea to do the chapter quizzes in the book. Tests do have essays and IDs.

TAKE HIM. I took the web based class and had no problems whatsoever. Take the online quizzes to prepare for the tests and you'll do great. No need for the text, but read it for the knowledge and for the fun. I agree with the other posters. He is crystal clear and helpful. It is possible to accelerate through and finish early, if you need to.

Good: All lecture. Easy to understand. Good Analogies. Bad: Inserts political opinions into lectures. Overall: if you go to class, take notes, and thumb through your txt book, then you'll be FINE.

He's extremely nice and super helpful. You can't be afraid to stop him and have him clarify something though. He does have a tendency to lecture quickly but he said that its only because when no one asks him to slow down he assumes that everyone is keeping up! He is my fav teacher by far and is obviously well informed. Take him for an easy B.

His explanations are very good and he'll elaborate if you ask a question. His tests are challenging, but you can eliminate a certain number of questions and not be deducted points for it. Definitely knows his stuff.

I love Doctor Mock! His class structure and teaching methods are very straightforward and effective. His entire class consists of four test grades derived directly from his daily lectures. As long as you attend class, take notes everyday, and study your notes and the study guide that he provides online, its definitely easy to get an A!

I TOOK THIS CLASS ONLINE AND IT WAS THE SMARTEST THING I EVER DID. YOU CAN TAKE QUIZZES AS MANY TIMES AS YOU'D LIKE. THERES ABSOLUTELY NO REASON YOU SHOULD NOT GET AN A. Excellent teacher. Took his class online. It was a breeze.All quizes and no required homework. No extra credit given at all. YOu have to sudy for the test tough if you want to pass. Take this teacher you will definitly pass

Interesting class. He is very knowledgable...however classes are extremely boring! He teaches directly from powerpoints and there is LOTS AND LOTS of note taking! Only 4 tests...gives you a chance to gain xtra credit by attending off campus events.

I hate any type of history but Mock actually got me excited about it. I loved listening to him lecture. Major downside; his tests are WAY TOO HARD.

Mock tests on what he teaches. No tricks. Go to class, take notes and study them and you should do fine. He is not afraid to express his opinion in just about anything in history.

Honestly, go to class and take good. I failed the first test because someone told me this tests were easy, but I passed the next three. I just read the notes everyday after I took the notes until the test. He will explain everything you don't understand though. Just ask questions. Overall, he is an awesome teacher, but don't expect an easy A.

Great teacher. You don't even need the text book, he only tests on his notes...which are great. His tests are straight-forward and relatively easy. I have made A's on the first two so far. You will enjoy coming to class.

I have taken EUH1000 and 1001 with him and I love it. With 1000 I took his class on campus the only thing you need to do is show up and listen pretty much, the only down side is your only graded on 4 test. But 1001 im taking online and its also very easy for the most part I love him as a teacher!!

Took Dr. Mock for EUH 1000 & 1001. He is an extremely knowledgeable, humorous, and helpful professor. You must attend class to get a good grade, but his lectures are by no means a chore. The book is useful for when you miss a class but otherwise is not necessary.

He is kind of mono-tone, and this is horrible if you've pulled an all nighter, but he is very funny and knowledgable. I highly recommend his class!!!

Dr. Mock is a really great teacher and I've had him as a professor for both EUH1000 and EUH1001. He is very clear and thorough about the topics covered in class. If you come to class regularly and take notes, there's no possible way you can fail. His tests are fairly easy, in my opinion, and they will be for you too if you take notes and study! :)

I really had no tolerance for his right winged rants, but he knows his history and is very clear on what he expects from his students.

I feel like I actually learned something different from all my prior history classes with Mock. He does tend to let his right wing opinion and skepticism seep into lectures, but not too bad. Tests are essay/short answer, but he gives you every potential question he could ask.

Mr. Mock is an amazing teacher. Lectures are very interesting. First test is the hardest so study hard. MUST go to class because he gives out key points during his lectures that are not on the slides. The key points are the answers to the questions online!! Buy the book it help to read along but it is not necessary to pass the class. :)
