Professor Moody was one of the best Professors I have encountered! Not only was he helpful with writing projects but, he wanted to see improvement in his students. He is very strict on attendance and deadlines but, other than that his work load was not too bad.
Writing is not something I am great at. He worked and helped me with leaving comments and feedback. One thing I liked was it was not about writing 5 pages papers for it it was actually learning what things were and how to use them. Great class and a great professor.
Gives clear and thorough explanations of writing projects and allows for a draft to be peer reviewed every time before the final essay is submitted.
He is a great prof. who uses peer critique very well. He is tech savvy and is extremely caring .
Overall I felt like this class did have lots of outside work, most of the class was writing heavy but the material Professor Moody made it fun to write compared to most college classes. He also care's about his students and makes sure we're doing good in life outside of class.
Professor Moody is an excellent teacher for beginner writers, and I absolutely recommend you take his core writing course if you are a freshman. He gives many useful tips for research and pushes his students to take their writing skills to the next level. His grading policy is fairly easy as he grades on a scale of 1-3 based on completion.
Professor Moody is extremely helpful, easy to communicate with and gives amazing feedback. He clearly states what needs to be done and grades accordingly. I would 100% take him for another course.
One of the best professors I've encountered so far. Cares about the learned material from lectures rather than just creating assignments. Creates an immersive and relaxed atmosphere. Have and would recommend any student to take his class.
Great professor, weekly work is given so as long as you're keeping up with the assignments it's not easy to fall behind. Additionally, super down to earth and very helpful.
Great structure and use of routine. Easy to get along with and not boring.
Professor Moody is an enjoyable professor. He keeps the class lighthearted while still getting work done. He has a very structured class plan that is respectable and organized in a way that allows for progress in writing. I would take his class again, he's a cool person. I have gained new writing skills and improved upon my own during his class.
Professor Moody is an understanding and great teacher. I feel that mostly all assignments had clear instruction and was structured to help students understand the assignment. I feel like I became a better writer considering there was a lot of essays but I enjoyed how it was about topics we wanted to talk about. I feel I got something out of it.
We wrote one paper around every one to two weeks as the semester went on the topics got harder and the word count also increased, this was an amazing class as a freshman to get back into writing and get better at really describing your thoughts.
Though the work load was heavy he was understanding about late work and an overall good guy.
Very relaxed professor who gives good feedback and has a good classroom presence/environment
I took Professor Moody for one of my core classes that I had to take. The structure of the class is laid back, but there are a lot of papers to write. However, they have interesting topics and you can receive help if needed. Definitely would recommend.
Easy grader, as long as you do your best and actually try that's what matters. Writing intensive class but manageable as long as you stay on top of due dates, and the writing is all self-related so you get to pick topics you care about. Easy A.
very easy just writing a lot of papers.
Overall pretty decent professor. His methods definitely feel a little overbearing sometimes, and be prepared to write a *lot* of essays.
Best Professor ever
Cares about students and their feedback, tailors class to keep everyone interested.
His class was easy. I would take a class with Professor Moody again. He is a good person to talk to.
He grades on a 3-point system which is great because it really doesn't affect your grade too much.
hes so nice and so helpful.
Writing heavy
Dr. Moody has been very understanding of my accommodations this semester. He is very respectful and engages the whole. I would love to take a second class with him if it was offered. His teaching style is fairly laid back.He encourages everyone to participate and does not make you form your own groups until you are comfortable.
If you like being around a creative and inspirational guy, you should take Moody's class! If you are afraid of interacting on a casual level with a professor at times, you should probably not take one of his classes. ;-)
Gives really clear instructions for work. Always has a great attitude. Very organized and efficient.
Moody facilitates great conversations and allows for a creative space to be made inside the classroom which then helps us write outside of the classroom. Highly recommend.
Incorporates humor in his teaching and he is very creative with his assignments. Very helpful with feedback on poems and gives good advice on how to revise. I've recommended him to all my people that need gen ed credits. I think that if you need to want to take a credit for creative expression you should definitely take one of his classes.
This was my favorite class of my first college semester! Professor Moody made learning fun and interesting. We did a lot of in-class workshops and discussions so everyone could improve together. I liked the collaborative aspect and feedback methods we learned.
Great professor! Very engaging class, and the only class I never had the desire to miss. Clear and detailed feedback for each assignments, and suggestions for how to edit essays for a final grade. I would absolutely take this course again, or at least take another class taught by him.
Really good professor. He was easily able to create a positive and engaging classroom environment
He cares about his students there is a total of 4 writing projects you work a while on them so it is easy to zone out but other wise good class. Also its not about what you would think it is.
HE is a very good Professor, very understanding and communication is very good. Work load is kinda heavy but each assignment is worth 3 points. Highly recommend Professor if you need this core to graduate
Overall class was super easy just have to sit down and do the work, but Moody is super chill if you just talk to him.
Very chill and laid back. Cares about students both in class and outside of class.
Overall a fun professor to have. Treats students as more than just students, cares about feelings and opinions.
Really laid back guy. Easy to get along with but will also keep you in check with school work. Most of the assignments are pretty easy but a few of the Seed Drafts and Final Drafts can be a task at times. If you put in effort this will be an easy A. He's also very understanding when it comes to personal maters & is easy to reach outside of class.
Great professor, if you have the chance to take a course with him absolutely do it.
Overall, moody was an amazing professor. I took first year seminar, too the only down side was a lot of homework compared to other first year seminar classes. Moody always checks In with us at the beginning of class and connects with us. He is very caring.
He's pretty chill, the class was super easy as long as you stayed up on the assignments, has cool long hair.
Nice teacher
Moody is a great professor and person. Do the assignments in time and you'll be fine, but be ready to write a lot.
The class is well taught and the work is not too bad. Very professional and respectful. Did assign a smaller project over a break. Not fun.
There are assignments every night but the assignments aren't very hard just feels like busy work. The classes are pretty easy as well
Mr. Moody is a great professor. In the beginning of the course we didn't spend much time trying to get to know each other, but he is a hardworking, patient professor. Attendance is mandatory, and it will affect your grade, if not partaken in. There is only about four papers, and we get a great amount of time to complete them.
While Professor David Moody does give out a lot of work, he is a really good professor. What I mean by that is that he gives really good feedback back and on top of that he is a caring person.
He gives lots of feedback, so be ready to improve and correct your writing.
Very solid instructor. Gives specific and detailed feedback when asked for, rubrics were clear and organized for all assignments. Grading for essays was very fair, and his comments help you succeed. Would recommend him to any Flagler student!
Moody was one of my favorite professors. If you are a freshman coming to Flagler, you should definitely take him for FYS. There were weekly assignments but they were 100-200 word assignments with 4 essay projects. Easiest class and learned so much about college and Flagler. I highly recommend taking one of his classes and cant wait to take another.
He is okay. He is probably a better teacher in a class he is passionate about. All FYS teachers volunteer to do it so I can't imagine its something they are excited about. He is very knowledgeable and is nice. For anyone that gets him as a teacher, I wouldn't stress about it.
great at giving feedback for all your assignments, helps make you a better writer and teacher. The perfect balance of having fun and getting work done. One of the best professors at Flagler College for sure.
I had Dr.Moody for Gaming and Rep.I thought he was a really good teacher.I enjoyed his classes and only skipped once for a personal issue. His classes were fun to listen and be in as something funny or cool was revealed that I never learned before.I liked his 300word assignments the most as I felt like that was good length to get ideas across. -Luke
Really nice. A lot of homeworks but not hard to get A's
(COR 163) Professor Moody is a caring professor who you can tell is knowledgable and interested in the subject he teaches. His assignments are easy, and it takes minimal effort to score highly on homework assignments. He gives an insane amount of homework, as easy as it is, its annoying to do. As an assignment is due before almost every class.
Overall this is my second time having Dr. Moody first I had him in first year seminar and now I just had him in COR163 which is a gaming class and for me it was easy since I already had him as a professor. attendance will be 40% of your grade so show up to class do a couple small 500 essays and get a easy A
Lots of work but he gives really good feedback. There's a lot of homework every week but it's only worth 2 points which is nice. He's a really easy going professor though.
Great teacher, great guy too. Alot of assignments per week but their easy quick assignments, taking around 30 minutes per. Overall this is one of the toughest FYS teachers as ive heard, but its not hard at all!
Awesome teacher who was respected by every student. Explains content clearly and thoroughly allowing for your full understanding of the coursework, as well as progress in other classes if you listen to what he says. I enjoyed the class a lot and would highly recommend any courses he teaches.
Great teacher and person. A lot of papers due per week but it is not that time consuming. Gives you good feedback and wants you to succeed
The class was enjoyable and though evoking. Professor Moody was very laid back and cool!
You are chill and understanding and I appreciate that
One of the best professors ever. LOTS of reading and writing. Textbooks are required but they are inexpensive. Some of the texts can be found online and at Brevity. Very kind, understanding, and chill. He makes the class personal with telling about himself and wanting to learn more about his student. If you have the chance, take his class.
He's a really great professor, very organized and accessible. I also feel that his class actually really helped and improved my writing. Before this class I had never done any polished writing so this really helped me understand exactly what the process is for polished writing.
Professor Moody is a very chill professor. He is very understanding and give good feedback to help students on their essays. His class is very interesting and not hard to keep up with.
Professor Moody makes college learning fun and engaging. You will love his classes if you are a creative writer or thinker.
Dr. Moody is SO NICE. One of the best professors here at Flagler. He is so kind and his class was taught so creatively. The essays were so fun to do, the minimum word count is around 300. Attendance is mandatory, but I highly suggest anyone take it.
Dr. Moody is an amazing professor, his class consists mainly of group discussions and writing assignments. I found that the assignments were not hard or very formal making them easy to get through. His responses to your work are helpful and personal and he is eager to help. 10/10 class
Very fun class, Very helpful person, lots of writing and lots of talking but it was all very helpful
Dr. Moody is the best possible teacher and friend to have on campus. He is well-versed in many subjects and a well-rounded human who actively wants to see and help his students grow to their full potential. This was a required class for me and all freshmen, but I genuinely lucked out with Moody and his positive and intriguing teaching style.
He is very understanding and nice and will let students engage with each other and talk together. As long as you don't get lazy and not do your work you'll get an A.
This guy is the absolute GOAT please take his FYS Class if you can he his the only professor I haven't heard nightmare stories of.
Hes super cool, Just alot of homework assignments but nothing crazy hard.
Lots of assignments and papers. Great professor and lectures.
Moody is by far the most normal teacher I have had this first semester. His feedback on your work is remarkable, and he really gives you in-depth and genuine support to help you get better. He loves video games too, so if you're into that, you can talk to him about those! He has a lot of projects (writing papers), but it can be a handful.
Professor Moody cares about his students, gives good feedback, and creates a good learning environment. He will expect participation in in-class activities and discussions, but he is very reasonable.
Attendence is the biggest grade. There are a lot of assignments but they are pretty short and as long as you do them you can easily get an A. He seems cool I just don't think I really like the class itself.
Very positive teaching style. Stern when need be
Dr. Moody is a great professor and a great guy. If you have any questions you can ask him, he also doesn't do exams for this class which h=is nice. The only thing id have to say bad about it is there is about 2/8 hours of home work a week. It varies.
Professor Moody was a good professor, when I was struggling with some of the hardest things I've had to deal with he was understanding and compassionate. He never rushed me into coming back to class or completing homeworks. He uses multiple types of teaching styles all combined into one, so anyone can learn.
hes a good teacher but he grades stictly on final projects so make sure you work hard
Very good pacing in class and fair assignments. Lots of feedback. Engaging lectures
Very emphatic about the subject. This is a Creative Writing course, so be ready to read, but if you're willing to put in the work, you'll be fine.
The class was easy to follow and helped hone my writing skills through projects and discussions. The workload was spaced out, and feedback was very helpful, especially for bigger assignments. Every class was made fun and engaging through its content.
Moody is a great at feedback! His assignments can be easy if you put the work in. He also is very helpful with assignments.
Nice guy but so much work. you have to write two essays a week which is understandable in a writing class but not for a video game COR. I had him twice and a good guy but wouldnt take again because its way too much work. But he does care about his students and ansers emaiols good.
He's alright. I have him for First-Year Seminar, and he assigns at least two papers per week, each 300 words in length. At first, I found the class quite interesting, but as the semester progressed, I personally grew annoyed by it. His feedback is templated, but when it's not, it's quite strange and sometimes pointless.
Assignments take a very long time but if you do them on time its an easy A.
Moody was very effective in letting us know what is due and giving instructions.
He taught in a way that made the students respect him as a professor and his lectures were never boring.
He's is a good professor he assigns a lot of work.
Good guy and he cares for the students but gives the most work out of any fys class. You just have to go to class and stay on top of your work and you'll have a good grade.
He is a good professor
Super nice guy, if you complete the work on time it should be very easy.
I enjoyed his teaching style and how he connects with students, fun class, good at explaining course work.
Professor uses all online material, and grades pretty fairly. Overall he is a good teacher and a smart person, who will always be there to help and will help you without you even asking for help.
Dr. Moody is a good professor. He provides great feedback on assignments and projects. Just be aware that you will have lots of homework to do each week.
This professor is good but does give a good amount of homework. You will almost always have something to work on, but he does spread the workload out a bit. It is important to come to class regularly and join in on class discussion.
You get a new writing assignment every single class. It is easy to fall behind if you are taking other writing classes.
The professor overall is good, but he does assign a lot of homework due every Thursday and Sunday, so if you don't stay on top of your assignments the work can quickly become overwhelming. He gives good feedback on all the assignments and he gives a thorough description for the assignments so you know exactly what he is looking for when grading.
-Good teaching style -Makes class interesting -Some group interactive work but mostly independent working -Not overwhelming assignments but also not easy
Seems passionate about teaching, the style just wasn't for me. Homework was a bit heavy, but the projects were fun
I really loved the end of class project where you propose your own game to center around a certain group of people. It allowed me to do in depth research about a community I come from and overall the class was just very fun. It let me think about things in the gaming space without feeling overwhelmed.
Way too much writing. If you trying to pick a COR 16, pick anything else since the other ones are so much easier. If your taking him as a writing COR hes okay.
Dr. Moody gives the most thoughtful feedback of any professor. He's understanding but also expects you to do your best. He gives out a lot of homework, but I wouldn't say any of it feels like useless busy work.
