Tricky tests but grades fair. Term paper topic seems like a pain but really is fun. Does not like giving grades below B. DO NOT PLAGIARIZE BECAUSE HE WILL CATCH YOU!
Didn't buy the book and made an A. Take good notes because his tests are directly from the notes that he gives in class. The map quizzes are easy as long as you know the map of North America. The paper is nothing to stress about 3-4 pages about a historical article from a historical journal.
He is a nice teacher and his notes are not all that hard to understand. I recommend his class if you are taking US history by any chance.
He's a very young teacher but his teaching is good. You don't need to buy a book because he has his own notes (made available on the web). His tests are directly from his notes and is a little tricky but fair. I recommend him.
no need to buy the book. power point presentation every class which are avaible on website. test is straight from the power point. 1 5 page paper due at end of semester. if you dont palagerize you cant get worse then a B. class averages 35-40 mins every time. not very interesting but extremly easy.
30 minutes???? We barely got out on time! Talks a lot, but isn't that boring. Lots of interesting stories related to the subject. I studed but managed to get low As on almost all the test. He puts his lectures online so you can follow along with him, but you still have to come to class.
Mr. Moon was a super easy teacher and we didn't even need our books because he put all his notes online for us to print out. He didn't care if you missed classes and gave me a 100 on a research paper!
STUDY!! because Mr Moon's class is difficult for me. He is an excellent professor. He explains things in great detail-why the events happened not just what occured. He even tells funny jokes and shows great movies that relate to historical events.
best history professor ever but you really need to study and show up for his class...very nice guy and he will help you
Took class for summer. Mr Moon is great. Knows his history and easy to understand. Puts PowerPoint Presentaion notes online which makes class easy to understand and score a high grade on exams.
Very nice teacher. Tests are easy but only if you take good notes and study them. I recommend this teacher to everyone that is not that interested in history. He makes it fun and is not boring at all.
NO PROBLEMS! GREAT GUY! NO COMPLAINTS HERE! YOU WILL ENJOY HIS LECTURES, HE REALLY IS CLEVER. LIKES INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS, YOU WILL DO FINE IN HIS CLASS.
He's really nice and gentle. He's not just an easy teacher at all. You must study if you want to manage w/higher grades. He'll check your absences and give you many extra credit opportunities. Overall, very nice history teacher! I'll take his HIST2111 class again. Highly Recommend!!
He is a great instrutor. The lects. are about relevant-to-the-point info. He basically stays on track & he is funny & young (T-God). He gives you the facts & lets you decide whose side you should be on. Tests are not hard if you study & take a few notes. There's only 3 plus the final & a paper (5pgs), no quizzes. Oh you don't have to buy the book!
Very straight and to the point. just print his power point lectures and follow his study guide and it's an easy A!
He was pretty easy with his tests and his paper.
Class is kind of boring, but he is very easy to get an A with. All term, everyone passed every test. Good teacher, and I would take him again.
best teacher ever. its second time taking his class (1112 in fall2005, 2111 now), its sad that hes not teaching 2112, which I would definately take it!!
Class is very boring, just reads off his powerpoints but its EASY! do not have to buy the book. he is strict about attendence but tests are super easy...everything from powerpoints! he is a nice guy
Easy, easy and more easy. Don't need textbook. Just print out powerpoint slides and take notes as he lectures. There a 3 tests, a final and a 4-6 page paper. For tests you get a review sheet that tells you everything on the test. For the paper he gives you topics and sources. VERY EASY A.
Lectures can be a little dull. Funny guy though. 3 tests and one paper for a total of 400 points. You HAVE to come to class to get notes, despite the lectures being online, you HAVE to be there. Nice teacher, goes the extra mile for his students. PLUS, you get to learn about history! YAY! A+
you don't need your book, all his lectures are on power points, tests are fairly easy, he gives 5 points extra credit on every test if you write a page essay. there are only 3 tests, he is a great professor, highly recommended!
Very good teacher!
I REALLY ENJOYED THIS CLASSS AS WELL AS LEARNING A LOT ABOUT HISTORY. HE WAS VERY INTERSTING AND REALLY WENT OVER THE MATERIAL VERY WELL. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM TO ANY BODY BECAUSE HE IS AND EASY A.
He is great. His study guides are not the most helpful but enjoyed his class and teaching style. Recommend his class.
VERY GOOD TEACHER! EASY CLASS. DON'T BUY THE TEXTBOOK YOU DON'T NEED IT! WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TEACHER.
You will need to take a good notes what those people played thier roles in history while you are viewing the short films. Must know the major events & write about it at the 3 exams. Identify background of each events including: social & gender effects.
he's awesome. you do not need a book. study the powerpoints and you should be fine. take him!
This teacher is great. Really nice and clear. All powerpoints, don't buy the book. He teaches without it.
VERY BORING SO ITS VERY HARD TO REMEMBER THE INFORMATON..YOU HAVE TO WRITE AN ESSAY ON EVERY EXAM.NO YOU DONT HAVE TO BUY THE BOOK BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO ATTEND EVERY CLASS JUST TO UNDERSTAND HIS POWERPOINTS BECAUSE HE ABBREVIATES IT ALOT.IF U HAVE A CHANCE TAKE ANOTHER TEACHER!
fun professor. good sense of humor. will sometimes let class out early. easy A if you study test review and go to class
He changed, believe me, I am taking now his class. He became a hard instructor, he does not explain well, he gives very difficult tests, and required a book now. Don't take his class if you want to get A or B: very hard now to get it.
I really enjoyed his class. Teaches from his own powerpoints. Basically, just come to class. Pay attention. Take notes. Gives exam reviews! Xtra credit assignments can be tedious. Easy A with moderate effort. If u didn't get an A or B, it's because you totally slacked off.
If you want a boring lectures, I would say go ahead take him. You don't need book for his class that good. On his test, you have 1h15mins to do both multiple choices and 2-3 pages essay no double spaces. He gives extra credit like 5 point, but you have to write 3 pages essay. He tries to be funny, but I don't get his joke.
If you have a baby and you want to get him to sleep. Make him listen to his lectures. Also, you can tell that he is one sided in polotics even though he shouldnt be based on the school conduct. The tests are fairly simple if you study for them. The book is useless unless it is being used for the essay questions.
How is he politically one-sided (you need to learn to spell)??? He doesn't discuss current politics or his personal political opinions in or out of class!!! I swear: grow up, learn to read and write, study, and maybe you won't make an F in an otherwise fun class.
Great teacher. I had him for two classes. Very easy if you study the powerpoints. You do have to write an essay for every test and I HATE essays but found them easy because he gives you the essay question on the study guide.
Mr. Moon is a pretty cool guy. His tests are somewhat difficult if you don't do the reading and study, but overall his class is pretty easy. Also, on his tests he makes you write an essay, but he gives you the topics a week or two before the test so you have plenty of time to write up and essay and memorize it for the tests.
Sarcastic and funny. Will do well if you come to class every day as he lectures from power points daily. Yes you can download them from his website but he gives you more information as well. Tests were easy but do contain essays which he gives the topics in advance. I thought this was a great class. Have to work for your A though.
Professor David is a very nice, wonderful, smart, understandable, cute & a SUPER genuine prof ever! U put effort, he sees it, U pass :) I mean, History was never my thing but he made it fun & enjoyable. He also has d cutest smile ever. Seriously! Thanks once again Prof. David and I wish U & your family the very BEST in life. love ya! *D-o-r-c-a-s*
Reads from prepared outlines, make sure you take notes from what he says also or you will be lost when the test comes. Puts trick questions on test and grades essays hard, good thing is he lets you rewrite the essay for extra credit. Pulled out an A with lots of studying.
pretty funny dude. His leactures are pretty interesting and educational. his tests are tricky and hard though. The book wont do you any good. Listen to what he says and show up to every lecture. Drops a test and gives no HW. Enjoy.
He is a fantastic teacher! Great sense of humor. I am not that interested in History, but he made the class enjoyable. He prepares lessons for every class... so if you don't do well, you have no one to blame but yourself!
He can be boring at times...he grades the essays on the tests strictly but the tests itself is somewhat easy...not too many assignments and there is an extra credit opportunity towards the end of the sem.
he is a funny teacher. he gives lectures and you have to read the book for the test. there are only 2 test! but they are kinda difficult and there is one essay at the end but he gives you the choices for the essays before and a study guide. and he gives you extra credit. practicly no homework. he is a little monotoned.
Boring class in my opinion. Tests were tricky for multiple choice ques and he grades strict for the essays on the tests...5 pg paper at the end of the semester and he does give extra credit if u make corrections for the essays on his tests
Pros: No HW. 5 pg paper is easy. Cons: Boring lectures everyday.Your grade is basically 2 tests (covers 5 chaps. each), which is tough multiple choice and essay which he grades strictly. You will be stressing to do good on those tests and have no idea what you have.
Totally agree with the comment below
Our first test was today. David Moon said, "Most of you will fail this test". If this sounds like the type of teacher you want, good luck for you. He is sarcastic, and not helpful at all. I don't mind working for my grade, but I can do without the attitude.
He goes over power point notes which are so boring... his tests are tricky and he grades the essays hard...not an easy A at all...take somebody else
this man is smug and loves to torture his students. He offers no help and his powerpoints suck. At the same time, there is no way of pleasing of him. No matter what you do, nothing is good enough for him. Take my advice and don't take his class!
this guy is the sorriest excuse for a teacher period. theres two tests and one final. one of the tests are dropped and your left with the final one test grade and a 5 page essay at the end (which is ridiculous)to make up your final grade. his tests are made up of tricky multiple choice questions an an essay, which i guarantee you wont pass.
He is a great teacher ... as for the comments below ... I think the students at GPC have gotten LAZY AND SORRY. They want to be babied as if they were still in high school and middle school!
If you are looking for an easy A, don't bother. If you come to class everyday and take good notes, you will be fine. The test questions can be a little tricky, so read them carefully. Not a class for lazy students.
Mr. Moon is a very smart man. However, I wish we had more chances to get good grades. There are 2 tests(which you drop your lowest) then 1 final, 1 paper, and participation. If you do poorly on the first two tests then you are S.O.L on getting an A in the course.
2 exams (lowest of 2 dropped) and 1 final. 1 confusing 5 page historical narrative paper. The multiple choice and fill in the blank sections of the exams are a piece of cake, BUT, the written in class essay is EXTREMELY hard to pass. BORING class. You be the judge.
I would NEVER recommend this bland teacher. He teaches with boring and monotone powerpoints, uses tricky and broad test questions, harsh essays, limited grades-which does not leave alot of room to bring up a bad grade, which your likely to get regardless of studying. This teachers shows no real engagement, making this class unnessarily difficult!
Mr. Moon is a good teacher; his 3 exams are all straight from his power point presentation. Most of the complainers on here are the people who slept in his class and didn't study the power point for the test. I agree the essays did suck that is why I made sure I knew the other info. Pay attention in his 1 hour class and you will make an A.
This class was boring...an A is unachievable with this prof because of limited grades, tough essays and tricky multiple choice tests...he also made us write a 5 pg long paper at the end of the sem which was ridiculous...avoid him and take someone else if possible
I NEVER RECOMEND HIS CLASS. hard to get an A. 2 exams (40Qs & write a 2-3 pages essay with a blue book)(lowest dropped)(1st avarage was around 55, second is around 70) & 5 pages essay. Don't take!
This class was fairly simple. i sept through majority of his lectures and ended up with a B. research paper was super easy. two test; lowest one is dropped and final. basically study from his study guide then you'll do fine. great professor. =]
He is by far the worst hisprofessor ive had. Tests werent so bad, but he doesnt make clear what he wants in the essay portion. Also, his knowledge of the subject is questionable. He said "i dont know" at least once every class. i even kept an "idk" count in my notes... sometimes he would say it as many as 5-6 times.
Took this summer and got an A, but I had to study for it. Tests were straightforward for the most part. Essay questions given out 2 weeks in advance all the info needed to write the essay contained in the question itself. To reviewer below: maybe if you'd actually taken notes you wouldn't have failed!!! People ask stupid questions in class.
An A is almost unachievable with this guy plus he's super boring. Just avoid him
Took him for both U.S. and World History, show up to class, take notes and youll get a good grade. Test Essays were given out weeks in advance. Test are fully reviewed for. He's a pretty straightforward guy. People that said they failed, just pure lazy.
entertaining teacher. his demeanor is amusing. he goes over my head with the excessive information. i got outta that class with a C because he felt sorry for me i think. i liked the class. learned a lot from it. its a pleasant memory for me. he gives intricate details. i fully endorse his classes. he applies pressure 2students making diamond brains
I took his 1111 and 1112 class and I got a B in both. He is a great teacher and if you take down notes and review the slides the tests should be a breeze. Always 1 or 2 questions from the textbook and an essay for the tests but really a piece of cake. Makes history interesting!
Great teacher. Tests are a hard if you don't study. He makes class interesting. Most of the test comes from his power points, which are very comprehensive, but some does come from the book. I advise reading the book if you take the class, makes it a lot easier.
Good guy, makes history class interesting but grades hard on essays.
Fun class! Lots of interesting info i never knew about US history. Teaches you to write essays so that you will be prepared for upper level work. I feel more confident about my writing when I transfer to GSU in the fall.
omg! if you have a choice please don't take him, class is boring, gives only 2 exams which include in class essays..no quizzes and takes daily attendance.study guides suck just a bunch of names and terms..most of us got C or D.Has a sense of humor but is harsh with grading, the essays are a nightmare..wouldnt tk him
If you have a choice please dont take him, class is boring, has a little humor, gives only 2 tests and both include in class writing essays, final is 50 questions, class average was always a 60. most of us got C and D's.studyguides are not helpful just a bunch of names and terms.takes attendance. wouldnt recommend!
A+++++++++++++++++ prof!
Great Teacher! Took him spring semester, I struggle with history and guess what I got the highest grade in his class! shows that with reading, doing homework and paying attention to everything he says, it is possible for anyone to ace his class. He always has some good humor, throws jokes here and there
Great professor! I took him in the fall and had a conflict with a test, even though his syllabus stated no make ups, he let me make it up. He's pretty great overall, show up to class, participate, and take notes and you should be fine. Tests are tricky, but not terrible. If you put effort, you'll do great. People who fail are pure lazy.
All class materials are available online. He drops your lowest test grade even gives out study guides!
Great professor. Laid back, self deprecating.
his tests are little complicated and requires detailed working but he helps as much as he can while he is grading. He is pretty laid back and know how to make a joke ;) you'll enjoy his class !
All materials are made available online, but lectures explain topics in depth. He also gives study guides, and is very helpful with any questions. I am not a fan of US history, but I really enjoyed his class. He will even tell the class which essay topics to expect on tests!
Got a 99 and 98 on the first 2 tests. Don't have to show up for the final because lowest gets dropped. He is boring but take good notes and you won't have to read the book at all. I never bought one. Laid back dude too
I love Mr Moon. He tries to be mean but he is truly a great professor. Three test drops lowest. If you just study you'll at the very least pass.
I would never take again. Read all of Professor Moons reviews and RUN RUN RUN. Worst class ever. He is kinda mean. He is a likeable guy but a terribly boring professor. He only has 3 test. Drops the lowest but still awful. Just ugh. His test are impossible to pass. Almost the entire class has everything riding on the final because everyone failed
Professor Moon's lectures: power point, but wo the typical stiff approach. He interacts with the students so as to keep their attention. If you study the lecture notes, you will do well on the tests. For the test short answers, read the book for some extra examples. Easy tests: 3 + final, including the option to omit the final. Take him for Hist!
If you like to read and research outside of class you will be fine; you are given little useful information during class. Three tests and a research paper are all you are given to pass, one test is dropped.
Show up to class every day, and take notes and read t book and you will do fine. If you need help go see him during office hours, it helps you to see where you are going wrong.
History is pretty boring, but he made the best out of it. It really helped that he drops the lowest test.
Great professor. You must put forth an effort. Come to class, pay attention and take notes that's it. He already knows the material, it's entirely up to you on whether or not you want to learn. Nobody should ever expect an easy A, but if you put forth an effort there's no reason you shouldn't get one.
He was lenient, but nevertheless I've learned some good amount of history without stressing to fail everytime I turn in assignment. It's not a free A, but you can definitely get one if you complete his assignments. The assignmetns were rather entertaining and easy - NOT HARD. If you want to learn some History and boost your GPA, then ____ TAKE HIM!
If you attend regularly and read the materials provided you can't help but pass. The tests are open book, online with a review sheet that is the best I have received from a Professor yet. Anyone who did not get an A just did not give any effort.
Taking him is an easy A. Of course it's all up to the student, but there is no way you could fail his class as long as the effort is put in. Taking his class was stress free, and allowed me to focus on harder classes. He's a pretty chill and lenient. Just do the work and your fine.
Super chill. You're crazy if you think he's hard. lol. I literally showed up, took notes and read some stuff here and there. This was a Friday only class on campus. Mr. Moon is hilarious. All his tests were online not to mention his EXAM was online. There like 2 hours long so really, no complaints there either. Just take the class and get it over w
Prof. Moon knows and understands his world history through 1500 AD which is amazing given how broad that topic is. I was surprised there was no paper to write but, all in all, it is well worth your time and effort. There is some online participation which requires doing a little digging but, he makes the research straightforward. He's very good.
I took this class over the summer. the work is pretty straight to the point. Do the readings and submit the writings. exams were all non comprehensive and open note / open book. response time was kind of slow, so if you have a question, ask the second you have it. Overall really great professor!
Dropped 1st week. Ton of work if busy schedule and only taking the class because the state of GA is making you. 1 module weekly but 2 assignments within module + 1 discussion post +2 responses. But in each assignment, tons of readings, 5-6 analytical questions related to readings, then 1 page submission to summarize each assignment. In 1 module!
Good teacher who does have good materials for learning and some videos where he goes over the material. I wouldnt say his class is an easy A but as long as you turn in your work doing it correctly he grades fairly
Absolutely horrible professor. Doesn't check emails when you ask for help on an assignment then claims you did terribly on the assignment. Makes you read and watch tons of BS and then wants you to do discussions AND quizzes AND assignments AND 3 exams per semester.....like are you serious. Modules are incredibly long. Hate this class BAD.
The workload was heavy. A TON OF READING from the textbook and then additional articles weekly. It started off as if it was a historical writing class instead of US History. It was very time consuming and confusing. By the grace of God, I scored a B in this class because after the first month my motivation was at a zero. Not an easy A type of class
Great professor, Easy A+ if you put in the work. Explains everything clearly. Took him for U.S history the moment I saw his name.
