Mr. Nusbaum is a great math instructor. He is always willing to answer questions and always tries to make sure the class understands what he is teaching.
very helpful techer! moves with the class's pace. he makes sure everyone in the class understands the work. he makes math easier
great teacher, the material can be a bit difficult but he does a good job explaining it. Very honest and fair. GO TO CLASS!
Great teacher. Explains everything very well so that he doesn't really have to repeat it. Goes through the content quickly. The content is difficult, but no memorization. Let you use notecards and peices of paper on tests. I recommend him
Mr. Nusbaum is a fair and hard-working instructor. He teaches the class with patience and passion for the material. His exams are comprehensive, and hw assignments can seem tedious, but overall, you'll learn a great deal.Take him!
Hands down the best math teacher i've ever had!
Very structured and so forth. You need to study and so forth. With math subjects you have to make sure you do the homework and so forth. He is a very wonderful teacher; he has creditials in math and education. Therefore, you can guess that he really likes helping people and teaching! =)
he is a great teacher! the way he explains stuff are really clear, and he cares about his students too! he is always available to help his students out.
i was lost most of the time in his class. but if you have any questions he'll help you out as much as he can. hes kinda cute though.
He is the guy you made fun of in high school, a big nerd, but is willing to help when its needed
He is an awesome teacher He made Stats make sense. His tests are kinda hard but he gives you a study guide before each test and takes a few days to review for the final.
i plain suck at statistics but im glad he is nice and helpfull or i would really go coo coo if he wasnt.
He is the best math teacher I have ever had. He explains things so well. I am glad I took his class.
I like his class!! This class was really free. He doesnt care about attendance because it is your responsibility to take notes. His lecture is very clear and easy to follow. If you do all of your homework and classwork, then you will easily get at least a B from test and class.
Very nice guy. Clear and organized lectures. I would definitely recommend him.
Hate Math, this was the easiest teacher ever. Made everything crystal clear, and if you still didn;t get it, his office was always open. Lots of homework though, like in any math class. I hate math
He's really nice and his teaching is really good. He's very organized and very helpful. BUT the hw is insane! but it is college...
He is a good teacher. There is a lot of homework, but you can do really well as long as you keep up with the work.
I don't like math & will never like math. But he's a great professor & he always has a smile on his face. If you don't understand something he'll be more than happy to help you & there's even an SI session you can attend for more help. He's not very strict on attendance, but you should show up everyday so you wont be lost. TAKE HIM! =)
Well organized lectures. Always willing to help out during office hours. Good S.I. program and test prep help. Lots of homework required.
Mr. Nusbaum gives assignments like one for each day. A classwork assign. for every test. A test every other week but they are very easy because he tells you what's gonna be on the test. The hw. makes up alot of points so do all of them to get an A. He gives e/c on the tests and late hw is accepted with points taken off. He's very clear and helpful.
He assigns a lot of homework, but is pretty fair about the problems assigned, you dont' need to buy the book if your okay with going to the library to do the homework. WATCH OUT ON TESTS: HE WILL LITERALLY GO OVER ALL YOUR WORK AND DOCK YOU POINTS FOR REALLY REALLY PICKY THINGS THOUGH! GOOD LORD!
He is a very good professor, makes himself available to students. Moves fast. I work full time so I took his night class, but I couldnt keep up with the MASSIVE amount of homework so I had to drop. VERY picky on showing ALL work, docks lots of points. If you are a math major, take him. If you are not or work full time, find someone else.
He's the best math teacher I have ever had.
VERY CLEAR WITH LOTS OF EXAMPLES TO HELP SHOW YOU STEP BY STEP, TESTS ARE NO SURPRISE QUESTIONS THAT YOU HAVENT SEEN BEFORE IN THE NOTES AND IN THE HOMEWORK. YOU CAN SOMETIMES ASK HIM WHAT KIND OF WORD PROBLEMS ARE GOING TO BE ON THE TEST. HE IS VERY EASY AS FAR AS A COLLEGE ALGEBRA TEACHER GOES!
This is the best Math instructor I have ever had. He gives you a lot of homework each week to finish. you will think it is difficult to do but it will help you to remember the lesson. He always reviews before each test and let you know which one you should concentrate for the test. Taking note is important because he solve all the sample problems.
Very, very, very difficult. He gives out so much homework... each weekly assignment is really long and takes up 7 pages of paper. You have to attend if you want to pass. Tests are difficult, and final was on everything learned in the semester. Unless you have time to blow on math and not other classes.... do not take!!!
He is a very good professor. It is hard to get an A in his class, but it is really easy to pass with a B if you don't hate math or it is hard for you to understand. Math 141 with him was just a more in-depth version of high school Algebra II.
This teacher is easy and has a great way of teaching. If you attend the SI sessions, you pretty much get the exams from the previous semester. He's always willing to help you when you don't understand a problem, homework may seem like a lot, but in the long run, it only makes the tests easier to take.
Mr. Nusbaum is a great teacher. He is very patient and answers all questions. There is a lot of homework but it's all relevant to the tests. He shows proofs+long way+shortcuts for all equations. His lectures are very organized and always have the same flow and he tests every 2 weeks so the material doesn't build up. I highly recommend him.
If you stay consistent with homework and attendance, it's not hard to get an A. Mr. Nusbaum is always available for help. The class routine gets pretty repetitive but everything is clearly printed in the syllabus. Tests are not hard at all if you do the homework. No surprises whatsoever. I'd recommend taking him.
Mr. Nusbaum is such a great teacher! Take Him :)His lectures are clear. He gives an example, then he does a "you try" and gives you an extra credit point for trying, even if your not right. He also goes over everything that will be on the test. There are only test, no quizzes,
BEST MATH TEACHER EVER! He is so clear and makes learning math almost fun. Explains proofs and concepts clearly and gives us the oppurtunity to take thorough notes. Take him!
Very nice and easy teacher! Helpful and will keep going over something until you understand. Lectures can get slightly boring but tests are easy.
he needs to use calculators more often and grade easier
He's a good professor.About half the class dropped his class. Students need to realize Calculus is a hard subject to comprehend. They have to do their part in studying also.Homework is due next day every time he finishes a section. He curves the test when he sees a lot of people doing bad on his tests. If a lot of students did good, he won't curve.
I love Nusbaum! He gets so into the subject and gets excited at little things that involves math. Honestly, he's not that good at telling jokes, but how he acts, its just adorable. My group and I enjoyed his class even though it was during the summer. Hopefully I'll have him again for calc!
Lectures are filled with examples. Very clear explanations of theory. He goes fast so if you have questions ask during office hours. Very helpful & friendly. This semester he curves grades. Lots of homework, but if you do it you'll get good test grades. He has helpful review sheets. He's really good at teaching. Take him but expect to work hard.
He's a nice guy. You can tell he's really into the subject which shows his devotion toward the class and his students. Some of the material can be hard especially for a stats class, there isn't always a definite answer. HW is time consuming but well worth it to understand the material and boost up grades.
Makes a difficult subject even more difficult! Do not take this Professor!
Overall, he is a pretty good teacher. His lectures are simple and easy to learn. Homework is due everyday which keeps you on track. Tests are every 2 week which makes studying easier since it's only a couple sections. Offers a lot of extra credit. Sometimes when you ask him a question he gives you a 2 minute answer instead of a yes or no.
Prof NUSBAUM IS THE BEST
He is a great teacher. Tests every two weeks, HW is worth points. Overall, there are 7 tests, but they are easy if you study properly. Go over the study guide when it's given out, check the way he does the solutions because it is what he will look for on the test. Lectures aren't bad. There's EC, and don't just study the day or two before the test.
Prof. Nusbaum is an excellent professor. He is very helpful in and out of class. This class does require plenty of work and homework is a must but you actually learn and it is definitely worth it. Highly recommend him!
Awesome teacherr!! really nice and helpful
Probably one of the best math professors I've ever had. He is so helpful and clear. He knows his stuff! Throw him a question regarding about unrelated topics that has to do with math and he will deliver! There is consistent HW. The lectures are go by so quick, and if he doesn't finish his lesson, the HW is postponed! Which is very nice of him.
Great professor easy to understand. Most the test questions are made up of examples gone over in class or homework problems. Do the hw it is worth it!
best math teacher ever!!! he truly made me love math once again. very soft spoken and clear about what he's teaching and always willing to answer questions if you're confused with anything!!! also responds emails as soon as he can!! AWESOME AWESOME TEACHER!!!!! text book is not required only my math lab
Professor Nusbaum is definitely one of the best teachers I've had. His explanations are clear, concise, and well-paced. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Do homework, attend SI and office hours if necessary and you should definitely pass!
Throughout middle school, high school, and even my freshman year of college I did not do well in math. Once I had Professor Nusbaum, math instantly clicked. He takes his time and truly loves math. You have to print out your notes and all of the hw and quizzes are on mymathlab . He is seriously the best teacher ever and helped me so much!!
Take Prof Nusbaum. I was weary when I took up the class because it had been two years since I last did any calculus but professor Nusbaum truly knows his stuff. He will explain it to you to the tiniest detail of how something works and why it works that way. If you're truly a science major (engineering, physics, chemistry, etc..) take prof Nusbaum.
I used to hate math but this professor really restored my faith. I finally comprehend the material. This professor cares about his students. He answers all your questions and tries to explain things multiple ways so everyone understands. You need the textbook for the hw assignments. You should not miss class or else you get behind.
BEST PROFESSOR EVER! By far, he is the best math professor i have ever had. He really knows his stuff and i have learned so much. Taking his class for calculus 2 was the best decision i have ever made. I highly recommend taking him, you will not regret it
Really awesome competent teacher. If u take his class u will see-- he's very very organized, meticulous, and on top of things. He also has a nice personality and adorable mannerisms. I'm the worst at math, I fear and despise it, and have usually failed but I got an A in his class. try hard. do all ur HW and pay attention, then u will get an A
First semester that Cypress started Pre-Stats, 6 unit class M-Th. I'm so grateful I had him as a prof though, I probably wouldn't have passed since math is my worst subject. He is really helpful & nice, and grades pretty easy & timely. The class was tedious, especially w/ the homework, but it saved me semesters of classes! Onto Math 120 next semest
I'm so horrible at math to the point I experienced anxiety going into this class. But Prof N was seriously the best teacher I have ever had, somehow he made statistics UNDERSTANDABLE!!! (I failed it before!) It was such a nightmare w/Prof Chrispens that I was shocked Prof N taught it so well and I actually got an A. Very competent & friendly teache
This Prof is the greatest! He really cares about the students and will work with you in his office until you understand the material. Math 24 is his baby he developed it to save the Humanities students from all the algebra, so that we can get to a 100 level math. PAY ATTENTION this is not a class you can just show up to and get a good grade.
You can tell Nusbaum really cares about his students and the class itself. Very well prepared, organized and always willing to help. His lectures are clear, and he provides note packets (that you have to print out) which help guide you along the course. Attendance, homework, quizzes, tests, and extra credit all help build your grade.
Test every chapter. Collects hw based on a dice roll. Study guide for tests given- do those and you'll ace the test. Print note handouts and just fill them in as he teaches. If you want an A spend time with the material, pay lots of attention in class, go to SI. Extra Credit opportunities offered.
Calc 2 is a very difficult class, but this professor does everything to make it possible to pass. His study guides are extremely useful, and help you understand the material that you will be tested on. Every test is meticulously graded, yet forgiving. You will understand everything you did wrong and what to do to correct it.
I have hated math my entire life, but Professor Nusbaum taught me how to love math. Not once have I had a math teacher that was as great has he was. He really is passionate about the subject and incredibly knowledgeable. He made lessons so easy to understand, and was always very patient and willing to help. Lots of hw but it helps for practice!
WOULD TAKE AGAIN WORK HARD DO GOOD ATTEND CLASS
Great class! Prof. was patient, accessible outside of class, clear grading criteria, lots of tests, caring. If you are willing to be consistent in putting in the effort to study, you will do well. Just don't get behind. Can't miss a class. Do all homework and extra credit! Review everyday.
This is the first math class I have had in over 30 years. Prof. N. lectured in a way that allowed me to really understand. He was accessible outside of class and gave us extra credit opportunities. You definitely have to work hard and be determined to make the grade. If I passed, you can pass this class. He really wants his students 2b successful.
Nusbaum was by far the best math teacher i've ever had. He is super organized with his lectures which are super clear. Take good notes so you can reference them to the online homework. Mymathlab homework can be time consuming so don't wait till the night before. He gives you unit reviews which correspond with the test very well. TAKE HIM 100%
Mr. Nusbaum is a great professor. He makes his class to where its doable and you can work to pass the class. The only thing you have to do is really study the material and make sure to do your online homework, written homework, and the study guides.
I like taking his Calc 2 class. Personally, it was a breeze. All I did was finish all the homework (on my own) and remember the equations to Ace the class. He is very organized and the lecture examples are what he puts on the exams(with changed numbers of course).
Prof Nusbaum is a really great professor. I love math but Calc II is arguably the hardest in the Calc series. He replaces your lowest test score with you final if it's higher. He also gives you an extra credit worksheet that is due at the end of the semester. I should've gone to his office hours more often because he actually helps you with math.
Nusbaum is an awesome professor! He gives clear instructions, examples, and review sheets for upcoming tests. His door is always open during office hours and hes there awaiting to help in any way possible. TAKE HIM! Im personally not great at math, yet alone baby statistics, but with effort I understood. This class is self rewarding.
This professor knows all his stuff but doesn't seem to know how to teach his knowledge to us. His tests are nothing like his review worksheets and lecture. Tests are graded harshly.
He is so nice and caring that I actually liked taking math. He lays things out clearly for you and explains things extremely well. He makes it so one can follow the class pretty easily. I definitely recommend him as he truly wants to help you. Prof. Nusbaum is the absolute best!
Prof Nusbaum is tough, but doable. Calc 2 isn't easy, but If you spend time reading & reviewing the lecture notes after each class session you'll be fine. Take the exam reviews, written & online hmk seriously, it'll prepare you for the exams! Take advantage of his E.C. & SI. You'll have exams regularly, but the material is spread out. Take Him!
You have 7 exams plus a final exam. No midterm. His exams are based off the study guide and notes so if you study those, you will know most of the exam. He is usually there during his office hours so use that for questions. Only opened the textbook once so you won't need it. Overall very straightforward and nice professor.
Calc 2 is a difficult class, but Professor Nusbaum does a great job of teaching the material. His exams are very similar to the review assignments. He moves fast during lecture at times but he'll always take time to ask questions. Take advantage of the S.I. sessions before each exam. There are 7 exams and a final but each exam covers 4-5 sections.
Took Math 24 this semester. We started off with about 36 students in class and by the time the semester ended there were maybe only 15 of us. Do the work, and there is lot's of it. He is a tough grader and he is honest from the beginning. You have to study hard in his class in order to pass. You can't just come in and slack off. Good professor.
Really good teacher
This professor had great lectures and work, study guides was similar to the tests. But make sure you stay on top of all of your assignments and homework because he moves super fast and if you get behind, it will be harder to catch up. I would recommend taking it but only if u will be on top of ur work.
Professor David is an amazing teacher and also gives you great feedback and helps you out if your in trouble. I would recommend him for all of you guys who wants to take math 130 c.
I took this class along with the 013 prerequisite. I definitely recommend taking MATH130&013 if you struggle in math! Essentially it gives you another day that helps slow down the overall class. Things can get confusing very fast but go to office hours. DO ALL YOUR HOMEWORK and you will have plenty of cushion for your exams. Homework is done online
Such a nice guy! His notes are very detailed. He explains things clearly, and if you need more help there is free tutoring in the library basically everyday. They fill in any gaps you don't understand. But Professor Nusbaum is happy to help if you have questions. He is patient and you can go into office hours. Definitely recommend!
Worst teacher ever. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS.
This class is paired with MATH130C. It is a pass/no pass option. The extra day allows the class to be slowed down a bit. At first, it may seem like a drag attending math class three times a week. But it is definitely worth it. Calculus is already a challenging class, so I would recommend taking this professor since you get an extra day.
This is my favorite class and believe me Professor Nusbaum is the best person ever. He is very nice and caring.
I have to say hes a wonderful Professor. Really cared about his students like he even replies on the weekend even in football games. Btw do every lecture notes and test review to succeed in the exam, yall might think this will be an easy grade but its not. Itll challenge yall to the core but remain positive and it will be rewarding.
Nusbaum teaches really well but expect to put a lot of effort. His class isn't super easy but his tests and study guides are always similar. His class is test heavy, you take a test every other week and the study guides are due then so it can definitely be a lot. Calculus isn't easy but he makes it easy to learn and doable, hes pretty caring too.
he is very nice, and caring for his students. he wants his students to succeed. HOWEVER, if you are not good at math. don't take this class. the material is very heavy.
Great Professor! Ask for help when you need it, and DO THE HOMEWORK! I wish I could've done it better and ask for help sooner than later. This professor really cares about his student's and wants everyone to succeed. Take this class!
The test are based off of the notes and study guides. You must study both to fully understand the material on the exams. Homework is not mandatory, but good for extra practice. Always very happy to help students even if they have an endless amount of questions. You can retake one chapter of an exam. Each exam has four chapters. Great Professor!
Nusbaum is very caring, I have asked multiple times for feedback and work through the answers. He loves math and offers almost immediate responses to emails. He allows multiple test retakes, though there is a test every two weeks, so make sure you are up to work. In addition he doesn't make homework mandatory (may change in future semesters)!
In person, no textbook needed, tests are based on the review hw, grades only tests and not hw and review, stay engaged in the lecture notes, ask questions if you don't understand, available outside of class, allows retakes to everyone after a test and bonus points. Would recommend and would take again. Not an easy class, but an amazing teacher.
Great professor. Must keep up with work and homework to fully understand the concepts in math.
He gives out all the notes for us; that's super convenient. Bi-weekly test. He gives many retake which gives half of my classes got A. He made the final easier than the test. DON'T SKIP HIS CLASS. He's inspiring.
Very clear lectures and makes taking notes super easy
He's one of the nicest math professors I've ever met. You do need to be good in math to understand his class. However, if you are struggling, you should come to his SI's session, really helps with preparing for the test. I also like the fact that he allows retakes. AND HW is not mandatory, you are responsible for your study!
He's one of the best math teachers I've ever had. He gives you a printed "textbook," so you'll most likely need a folder or binder to bring to every lecture. He won't judge and genuinely tries to help you if you don't understand something. The lectures can be long and the online homework can be a hassle, but I think it's worth the good grade.
One of the most organized and amazing math professors on the planet. I have unmatched respect for professor Nusbaum absolutely passionate and caring. He will not just say "math is hard" and make you feel dumb. He will drill into it till you understand it. Very awesome person worth the 7:30 am, class you will learn not just pass easily.
Professor Nusbaum is a wonderful professor. He is probably my favorite professor, in fact. He goes the extra mile for his students and is extremely fair. Calculus II is very hard, but Professor Nusbaum made it digestible. I would highly recommend!
Professor Nusbaum is pretty cool. The Calc II class was only graded on a few things. 840 points came from exams, 60 points from a problem set, and a 100 point final. No homework. There are 7 exams with each testing 4 topics that are each worth 30 points. Attendance is not mandatory, so you can basically only come for exams if you want. 12 retakes.
There are a total of 9 tests (7 tests, one split into two parts and a final) in this class but it's one of my favorite classes because of how amazingly Prof Nusbaum lectures. The homework is "optional" but all the exam questions are modeled after them. You can also retake a section that you didn't do great on which can really boost your grade.
Professor Nusbaum is a great professor to have. I took him for calculus 2. Homework is optional but should still practice them because they are similar to the exam questions. We have 7 unit tests for every 2 weeks and are worth 120 points. I like that we get to retake one topic 7 times. With the final exam, we get to retake up to 6 topics.
Great professor. There is 7 tests, each test has 4 topics and there is total of 30 topics. You could retake a topic at the end of a unit test. And for the final it is 6 topics you want to retake. No homework, but the questions on the tests are model after them.
really nice guy, but he teaches RIDICULOUSLY fast. I have had numerous meltdowns already from this class. His notes are pre written "fill in the blank" notes at the start of the semester, making his note taking system super vague, and they basically don't explain anything making homework super confusing. If you're easily overwhelmed dont take him.
Lectures were very easy to follow and always checks if students have any questions or need help. Attendance isn't mandatory although I do recommend attending as much as possible to keep up with curriculum. He's super forgiving with grading, would definitely recommend his class.
If you end up with a borderline grade DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR.
Great Professor. There are 7 tests, each with 4 topics, 30 topics in total. Allows retakes after unit tests and the final is 6 retakes of your choice. No homework, but tests is model from the hw. He makes the class manageable and fair. SI sessions and office hours are helpful. Retakes offer flexibility, but you're responsible for your own studying!
Great teacher and made math150bc the easiest it couldve possibly been while still teaching well. Helpful when personally assisting and very understanding. His class has like 9 tests however 7 of these tests are more like quizzes. His tests are almost the exact same as his homework. No mandatory homework or attendance and a cool teacher.
Easier than my AP Calc class. He has Kahoots and group problems on the board we participate in. Around 2-3 problems per topic on the tests based on homework. HW isn't mandatory but review it to pass the test. Took the comprehensive final and it's super simple. Just flip back at old tests or skim notes he provides and you'll pass. Good luck.
He's a very fair professor. Pay attention during lectures and do all of the homeworks to do good on all of the tests. There are 7 unit tests, 2 quizzes, and one final that counts towards your grade and allows one retake every other week. For the final you can either take the cumulative final or 6 retakes. You need the final for an A in the class
Professor Nusbaum is an organized and engaging math instructor. The frequent tests with retake options make it manageable, and resources like Unstuck study complement the course material well.
He was such a great professor and he made Calculus II so easy. His exams are identical to the homework, so please study it. 7 exams total, with an optional final. Each exam is made up of 4 topics each, 30 points each topic. He allows you to retake one topic a week after the test and keeps the higher grade. Final must be taken for an A in the class.
Well-rounded professor that is very accessible for students if they need extra help. Lectures are fast paced because there are many topics but there are plenty of resources within this course to offset the fast pace. Make sure you do the homework as the course moves along. It helps and will keep you in the loop. Probably the best prof for stats
TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. I am horrible at math and he made everything SO EASY. Every time you take an exam he divides it by topics, so the following week we are able to retake the topic you got the worst grade in. He does this with all his exams, so you technically have one more week to study for the topic you did badly. DO HIS STUDY GUIDES AND HK !!!!
Professor Nussbaum is very caring and really wants his students to do well. His lessons are fast but he explains the topics well. Every week after an exam there are test retakes. His exams are EXACTLY like the study guide. Do the homework and study guides and you will pass this class
Prof. Nusbaum is great if you like writing notes in a pre-written packet. The online HW is annoying but not very difficult. There are tests every two weeks with a very bare bones “review” at the end of the class, the day before the test. where he just writes the formulas he recommends you remember, not everything you actually need.
I loved taking this class with. It is very note heavy so be prepared but it was pretty easy since he gave us a packet which we would fill out with him. He gave the option to retake a topic after each test which was very helpful. The homework was online and sometimes got annoying to do but it's not that difficult and doesn't affect your grade much.
This guy is a goat. The HW and test preps he gives are exactly like the ones on the actual test. Your grade is only based on tests so make sure to lock in. Don't ever be afraid to ask questions he'll take the time to explain to make sure you understand.
One of the best professors I've ever had. I did end with a D but that was 100% my fault from slacking off. His notes are clear and structured, and his lectures were easy to follow. He allows test retakes on one topic each test so that was really helpful. If you do the homework you'll be well prepared. Overall a positive class to be in
He is one of the best math teachers I have taken hands down. I learned so much. His notes are super well-structured and clear to understand; his class is difficult but accessible if you put in the work. As someone who struggled a lot in math (and has worse profs now that I've transferred); take his class!
Best math teacher ever. He wants you to succeed! Lectures are well organized, he's very accessible if you need help, and is very kind. The course I took was difficult being that its Calc 2, but in-class work and the homework helped me prepare for exams. Review the material that's covered and you'll be ok. Would absolutely recommend him.
