Book homework is very minimal to allow for extra time for the reason your there; to learn how to public speak effectively. I went into this class with low interest and after the first class he already had my interest. He doesn't pour on homework only things that will help you get through your speeches. I couldn't imagine taking this class with another teacher. He made a difficult situation, like speaking in front of the class, as painless as it could be. He was always prompt and curteous, answering any questions in class or emailed to him, in a timely fashion. His sense of humor really broke the ice, with the entire class feeling more at ease.

I had Mr. Parry as my communications adviser. I had many questions about deciding which major to choose from and he was very helpful with making that decision. i recommend seeing him or any adviser for help with scheduling classes, picking a major, or for pretty much any academic questions.

Mr. Parry was vary helpful. I went to the communication department to see my adviser and he helped me even though I am not his advisee. He helped me determine that that I graduate in August. I would recommend that all comm students see an adviser and if Parry is available, ask to speak to him.

He is good but i just met my friend 2 semester ago and he just told me that he says one thing in class and do something else. He will say and make you think you will get an A for the class and its not impossible and there at the end of the semester you see a C in transcript.

Mr. Parry is a great advisor. He is exceptional at what he does. He is very kind. David helped me choose which path would be better for me. He didn't just throw a piece of paper at me, he took the time to explain things to me. He is a proud alumni. I would recommend him to everyone.

Mr. Parry is one of those rare college level educators that truly cares about their students and their accomplishments. He wants to see his students work hard to be exceptional in life! I went to him for advice about which path would be perfect for me as an individual and he helped me make my decision that would affect my future.

I came to Mr. Parry for advising after my provided advisor pretty much ignored what I was saying. He listened to what I had to say, listened to me and then gave me a suggestion and explained his reasoning well. I'm convinced that he is the best advisor UA has to offer; more concerned in his student's interest than steering them into his department.

Mr. Parry is not only an outstanding professor but he was also a great mentor for an advisor. He helped me understand what really was the great out look for my future. For future reference i would definitely recommend mr. Parry he will never disappoint you.

I highly recommend Mr. Parry, he is not only an easy person to talk to, but he also explained things to me much more clearer and, he took every step that was necessary for me to graduate and figure out what I want to do without having anymore problems, like I have in the past with many other advisors at the University.

Mr. Parry was my advisor and was incredibly helpful. He told me about options for my future degree that I didn't even know existed and helped me to choose a new major that utilized almost all of the credits I had already earned. Mr. Parry is very easy to talk to and realistic when presenting you with your choices for moving forward with education.

Although i didn't get the chance to finish this class, from what iv taken Mr Parry is a great teacher and actually cares about his students I would say this class is really easy not because of the work but because he makes you feel comfortable talking in front of the class without hesitation. definitely recommend this teacher

Mr. Parry was great when it came to meeting with him for advising as he promptly replied to all emails and calls. When meeting with him for advising he answered all my questions and made sure I was on the right track. He also offered tips not only for college, but for many life experiences. Very personable and easy to talk to!

I met with Mr. Parry for some guidance concerning my major and scheduling. After meeting with him, it was clear which direction I needed to go! He not only answered all of my questions, but it was obvious that he genuinely cares about students and encourages them not to be average, but to be exceptional.

Mr. Parry is one of the most genuine professors I have ever came across. He's understanding to every situation in case you have to miss class. His grading on speeches gets progressively harder but as it does it's still easy to get an A if you follow his instructions. I won the "most improved speaker" in his class and have actually seen real change.

David Perry is among the best professors I've seen at the University of Akron. Helpful, honest and friendly while promoting a professional atmosphere that feels realistic and conducive to the real world. The course work is similar to the required speech class, but the tests reflect the course poorly, forcing the otherwise unused text book material.

I recently switched majors to the medical assisting program and was assigned David as my new advisor. I've had other advisors who did not take the time with me like David did. He did a great job at showing different directions I could take and how to get me into the occupational field of my dreams in a timely manor. Highly recommend.

David is a great advisor! He saved my college career in the matter of one meeting. He tells you how it is and explains what your options are and helps you figure out what the best route is for finishing school in a timely manner.

Very nice teacher and easy to work with. Made speaking in front of people a lot easier for me. Accepted homework same day via email if I ever forgot it. You will pass this class as long as you do the homework and put a little effort into your speeches.

Mr. Parry is very fair with his grading and gives students every opportunity to do well in his class.

He was a great teacher. I had a really intense fear of public speaking and Professor Parry made getting through this class a lot easier. He genuinely cares about your success in the class and is always available for help. Besides the speeches (for me at least), the course was not difficult. I highly recommend him as a teacher.

He's very inspirational in the sense that he pushes you to get your work done, but tries to teach you realistic advice!
