funny guy
good guy. tests can be a little tricky, but if you do the extra credit he offers, then there isn't any reason not to get an A in his class.
If you go to class and do the assignments, there's no reason not to get an A. He makes an extra effort to make his class fun, interesting, and easy to pass! :)
one of the best and most fun teachers i have taken... made the class very interesting and he made me like jazz music... he acts like a kid at hart and you feel like you can fit in easy with him, he cusses sometimes in the right context and funny and great
very easy and fun teacher. tests are straight from the study guide. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
faaaaaded teacher
if your in csun you need an upper g.e class im telling everyone needs to take this guy. his funny cool kick back class and teacher. great personality i got an A in the class love this guy his like your best friend. enjoy the class you little****s lol
Fun class, great teacher, easy tests.
He is a nice and weird guy. He counts participation. However, he is not easy to get A.
Amazing teacher. Very funny guy. Very clear and fair tests. If you come to class and study before the tests you'll pass. My favorite teacher of the semester.
He's funny laid back, he know his stuff.
He is an awesome teacher. He really knows his stuff and he loves it. This class was very informative. His jokes alone are a reason to go to class. tests are easy and based on what you learn in class. He even will usually play his sax in class for you.
Wow! One of the best teachers ever!!! He's so much fun. Highly recommended.
cool and funny man,Got A's on his tests, but the final was hard, make sure you do the extra credit so you can get an A. Or the final will be the determiner between an A or B.
If you show up and pay attention, then the tests are easy enough. No text necessary and his notes are worth getting.
Great class. He is very clear and fair, especially when preparing class for tests, makes lectures enjoyable and even provides the lecture notes.
Wonderful class. He goes out of his way to help students and has even provided the class notes.
Prof. Pozzi simply rules! Most fun class I've ever had in any class! He shows jazz films, gives funny lectures, and cracks up the entire class. One midterm, one final, everything covered in class. Two concert reports (don't delay!). Take good notes, read the course reader, listen to the cds, how much easier could it get?! Highly recommended!
this guy is funny as hell. easy A. 5 dollar book and everything you need to know is in it. its no more than 40 pages of big writing too. plus he goes over a lot in class and is very clear and easy. one 3 tests in total. easy ass hell if you pay attention and read those notes. makes the class very very interesting take this.
Pozzi is a great funny guy. The test are easy if you go to class and study the notes. He makes you want to go to class because he is so funny. Everything in this class is enjoyable I highly recommend this professor and this class for an easy A and you actually learn something about jazz he makes it very interesting and fun.
he's funny. god he's so funny
he is a wonderful pro. very funny lectures and easy tests. too many video watching though. well i like it that way.
he's the best!!!!
Class freaken rocks if you have a slight intrest in that kinda music. If you dont, your either gonna appreciate it or hate. Pozzi gives hints to answers on test. Multiple choice and listening questions. Best professor hands down at CSUN. Get your A's you little sh*ts.
honestly the best professor at this school...very laid back..extremely funny..hands down the best class to take for upper division credit...
Great professor, he is laid back and funny. He also knows alot about music. Even if you don't know much about the subject you will not only get an easy A or B, but you will also come out learning something new with little effort.
FUN PROF. KNOWS HIS STUFF AND MAKES CLASS FUN. GOOD CLASS TO TAKE FOR EASY A
Very good teacher. He makes me waana go to class. ypu learn something and you get an A, can't beat that.
Dude........Take him!!!!
Great
one of the best classes and its soo easy.. but its so fun. i enjoy attending this class, his laugh is so funny and the class is just awesome. you really do gain an appreciation for jazz music and its history, i would recommend this class to anyone.
This was the best class i have ever taken. It is very EASY. He goes over EVERYTHING before the tests (2 midterms, 1 final, 2 papers...he gives everyone credit if it's turned in and follows the simple format). If u go 2 classk, u don't even need to study for the tests, just the listening part. College does not get any easier than this class!!!
i love him. he's perfect! just like 4, 5 and 8!
Very easy class. Funny guy. Attend class and take notes and you'll be fine with the tests. Easy A if you do this.
he is so cool and so funny...if your looking for a laid back fun GE class, take him...he is really easy!
He's kind of cute for his age. Nice smile! lol. But most importantly, he a nice guy, very very easy. He tells you whats on the test, he reviews whats on the test by just asking random questions in class. He's also pretty funny. He's always crackin jokes. Very fun, very easy! You would be a fool not to take his class. Enjoy!
best teacher i've ever had, hands down.he's funny, patient, and easy.tells you exactly what you need to know for tests and his two papers are extremely simple. if you have any interest in jazz, you'll LOVE the class, and if not, you should still take it because it's so easy. it's the only class i ever had where i was sad when the semester ended.
Great Class. Professor makes everything easy to learn and fun. Class is a mix of listening to music, lecture and viewing films. Tests are super easy if you attend class. If you take this class, make sure you attend everyday, it makes the course a lot easier. An easy "A"...just go to class, its fun.
Pozzi likes to talk about himself and likes to hear you kiss up to him. Likes to tell funny jokes in class but some of them are just unacceptable in an educational institution. There is a fine line between what is funny and what is vulgar. He uses profanity like if he was mingling with his drinking buddies. He is the coolest music professor ever.
Easy A...just dont slack or wait till last min to study. Test info is given ahead of time, make sure you memorize all listening portions of the exam. Great prof, great personality. I always looked forward coming to his class even though it was not mandatory. A perk if u come to class....sometimes he gives you actual test questions!!
Good looking older professor. Great sax player, likes to crack jokes, easy going, coolest prof at CSUN. Just write down everything he comments on during videos and lectures and that's everything thats on the test(m/c). two papers on live jazz performance. reviews b4 tests. Take this class, highly recommended.
VERY chill teacher, but the tests aren't easy. You NEED to study the notes.
Best professor at CSUN. HANDS DOWN. Do not miss your opportunity to take this man. He's the funniest guy I've ever come across..Class is easy, very chill and relaxing..don't even have to take notes, just listen. I can't stress enough how much I love this professor..I'm so sad the semester's almost over :(...pretty good looking prof. too ;)
Great teacher! Class is fun you mainly listen to him joke and talk and watch movies. Share the CD with someone not worth 70 bucks. it is a very easy class but dont take it for granted you do actually have to study a little bit! like cram the night before and youll do fine! Listen to the music, if u go to class youll learn more! take him!!
3 Exams (approx 30 m/c and 15 listening ?s). (2)1-2 page concert reports-thus, must attend (2)live jazz concert outside class time. Attend class-prof is funny, interesting, and motivating and it will help immensely on tests. Important to review/listen to CD's b4 tests.
He is very funny & makes class entertaining. there are three 30 question tests and 2 concert reports. the only problem i had with this class was that the tests were a bit hard just because you have to memorize about 13 songs plus the information on the people. but he is a good professor.
One of the best classes and professors CSUN has to offer. He makes the class very interesting and he has an amazing sense of humor. He is very open to discussions about jazz and he has fantastic knowledge about jazz history and theory. I recommend this class to EVERYONE! Definitely an easy class!
One of the best professors I have had at CSUN so far. He is really funny and friendly. The class is also easy and you learn a lot. The class consists of three non-cumulative exams and two concert reports.
Professor Pozzi is a one of CSUN's hidden treasures. He is a wonderful professor with a wealth of knowledge. He made class very interesting and fruitful. I will miss his jokes and wish my class with him never ended. I highly recommend his class it is enjoyable and very informative.
I did not want to take this class at all, but Professor Pozzi made extremely enjoyable. He is a great teacher and very funny. You don't need to but the textbook, and we only had two tests and a final. Overall I highly recommend him as a teacher.
He knows and loves this subject. If you have Jazz interest, you'll be in love with him. No book but a cheap reader, dont have to show up really, but its cool when you do, hes a cool guy.
Best professor at csun! He really knows how to relate to students and makes class fun. I wish I could take more classes from him!
great teacher! i rarely showed up and just showed up on his review days because he tells you EXACTLY what to study. got an A in his class. very nice too :)
This was the first musicianship class where I actually learned from the teacher. He really explained things in a language I could understand. Extremely helpful, and great personality :D (as for workload/content, it's the same for all musicianship classes)
He is the best professor I have had so far. Not only he is very knowledgable, he loves his job. I recommend this class to everybody especially the ones who love jazz. Even if you don't care much about the jazz music, he will make you love it. He is the coolest, I love him.
So passionate, so knowledgeable, and so fun! Has a great sense of humor and a great wealth of knowledge to share. The subject is incredible on its own, but Pozzi breathes life into it and adds his own charm, wit, and personality.
great teacher makes the class fun you wont want to miss it
Take it.
This professor was great. His class was the only one I ever actually looked forward to. He makes the class very easy, and at the same time you still learn a lot! He's mad funny and very entertaining. Everyone should take him...he's amazing.
He is a great professor. Funny, helpful and makes the class really easy. His notes are crystal clear and have no doubt to pass the class.
HILARIOUS! fun to go to class. will make you laugh the entire time. take notes you will pass. Make sure to look over them and study for listening test even if you think it will be easy cuz you may end up getting a B if you don't. Only can miss 15 points to get an A.
Laughed 'til I cried on several occasions! He is a great teacher and really has a lot of enthusiasm for jazz. Add to that he is a professional musician and a has great sense of humor, how could you not love this class? Easy GPA booster. Impossible not to get an A.
Very good teacher. Funny and entertaining and loves the subject. He reminds me of anthony Bourdain.
One of the best prof at CSUN. Pure entertainment. Worth going to class. So funny. He'll stand there and literally say "write this down, it's on the exam..." Very helpful. Knows his stuff. Definitely recommend. 3 multiple choice exams. Have to visit 2 jazz nights and write a paper. I don't know anything about music and I ended up with an A. EASSSY!!
Greatest teacher EVER! If you don't get an A in this class something is wrong with you. He literally tells you what is going to be on the test. You have to attend 2 outside live jazz music performances of your choice and write a simple one page critique. Pozzi is AWESOME! Super funny guy. He loves the subject and it shows!
Extremely easy class. Tells you exactly what is on the exam. 3 exams, 2 concert reports (which are easy to bs). Didnt study and got a B. Pozzi is very funny and knows what he is talking about.
super fun and easy class. He doesnt want it to be hard, he just wants you to have a good time and learn to love jazz. its helpful to go to every class because he gives you every answer to the tests in class throughout the lectures. he literally said "this is the question on the test, these are the 4 options, this is the right one." AWESOME prof.
I messed up third exam so the grade is not as expected but prof Pozzi is an awesome man. One of a few good professors in CSUN.
Funny professor, entertaining class, but the tests are not easy you need to remember everything he talks about and you need to recognize the songs. His TA grades the concert reports and deducts many points... It's not so easy. You could find an easier class
He seems easy but he is not, the tests are not easy, requires concert reports but does't bother to read them, just checks the format and deducts many points. He doesn't care about the students and is very lazy.
Very easy class. Attend lectures take notes, listen to the music and study, you will do fine. He is funny and very entertaining. I would hardly recomend him.
Funniest professor ever! Very laid back but you will learn a lot!
TAKE THIS CLASS. It's nice to see a Professor actually passionate about what he's teaching. Extremely helpful and a very nice person to ask questions to! I would love to take another class with this professor. Extremely easy class to pass, you learn a lot. Very fun class!!!!!!
Professor Pozzi is amazingly funny, and knowledgeable. He knows his jazz history, and he makes the information easy to digest. He gives you 3 exams, and all of the answers to the exams during lecture. You won't regret taking this professor.
Pozzi is so entertaining and excited about jazz, there won't be a day you don't laugh in his class. Coursework is easy and straight-forward: two concert reports, a paper and three exams. Easy A if you put in minimal effort. Plus, you get to listen to lots of great music.
Great guy, gives out all notes to test before hand, but tests are very detailed. Had him for music 107. GO TO CLASS itll help seriously. Hilarious prof fun class learned alot
Attendance is mandatory, but he makes his class so fun that you look forward to it. You just have to show up to class, wait until he specifies what is going to be on the test and study those. You have to really try hard to get anything lower than an A- in his class.
Extremely easy class he tells you exactly what is on the test and makes class relatively enjoyable. Great dude, very funny and easy A!
Amazing professor. He is very helpful, funny and has a strong passion for jazz. Tells you EXACTLY what is on the test so there are no surprises. Class consists of 4 tests and 3 writing assignments. Highly recommend.
Really funny professor. Always has a smile on and makes class interesting. Go to class or else you will be lost on the exam. Makes Jazz interesting and the music is not that bad. There is a short paper, 2 concert reports, and 3 exams.. not bad at all. Take his class and go to class
Taking Professor Pozzi's class allowed me to really develop a liking for Jazz. He is passionate about the subject and makes some killer jokes during class. I wouldn't say that his class is an "easy A" but you have to be brain dead to not get at LEAST a "C". I'd highly recommend him for History of Jazz.
This professor, well he is a nice guy but to be quite honest his class is not easy. Pozzi is funny. yeah. but his notes are all verbal and he doesn't send them until 3 days before an exam which makes it hard to learn and pass the exams with a decent grade i got a C, i thought taking this class would help my GPA it just made it worse :(
Pozzi is a great dude! Very funny and friendly. Not to mention highly passionate and knowledgeable about jazz. No textbook required. Optional study guide available to purchase that really helps. Tells you exactly whats on the test and the tests themselves are very straight forward multiple choice with a small listening section. simple fun class!
Easiest class you'll ever take. The man gives you the answers to the test before hand.
He is an amazing professor! He is clear and tells you what will be on the test, EASY. 2 concert reports (easy) and a term paper. 3 multiple choice exams with listening portion (easy if you pay attention and write down all the important info) No book needed. A little note packet he wrote can be helpful at times but not mandatory. I loved this class!
He has to be my favorite professor! He is very happy in class & loves what he teaches. He doesn't require a textbook,he said txtbks are stupid HA. All notes are verbal in class but puts up his notes online. He gives you test questions in class, making his tests super easy! Hes very open minded & curses to lighten the mood. No hw or essays!Take him!
This guy is something else, he treats his students as if they were animals, and has an anger management problem, avoid.
This guy made me hate Music so much and I was a Music major, I changed my major to Physics after this class and graduated with a 3.4 GPA, despite failing Pozzi's class. Do not take unless if you like stress, he does not give you homework so you are not adequately prepared for exams.
Oh boy this guy is a real treat, he just reads off of his lecture notes to the class, but doesn't actually elaborate on them. Take anyone else other than him as you cannot learn well in a class that does not have structure.
I had this professor for Music 306, initially he was a nice guy until he spread a rumor about some mexican students, and framed one of my friends for academic dishonesty, when this guy is perfectly academically honest. This guy mocks Jazz History instead of teaching it. Take Garrett instead, you may learn something with a better teacher.
Puts up lectures online and then reads straight from them in class. Really no point in even going to class. If you are good at teaching yourself the material then dont even bother going to class. Except that in class he tells you exactly what will be on the test. Attendance is not mandatory. Extremely boring class, extremely boring teacher.
Professor Pozzi is one of the best professors that I have taken so far. He is so friendly, and makes the class interesting. I was never interested in Jazz, but after taking this class I loved it! He knows his stuff and teaches in an interesting way. I wish I can take another class with him!Love Prof. Pozzi!
He's a great professor! Makes the class really fun & interesting. I highly recommend him!
Attend every class wait for when he says "and here is the test question" at the end u will get all the questions that will be on the test. Easy but interesting too and relaxing too.
If you want the easiest A ever, then take this class. Doesn't take attendance and he puts his notes online. I still went to class though because he blatantly tells you whats on the tests. He's really funny too. Can go off topic sometimes but he gets the class laughing. Pozzi know's his stuff. Learned a lot. Take this class
He is amazing! He is hilarious and makes class so fun. You don't have to go to every class because he reviews what he went over next class, but I would recommend that you go. He tells you what is going to be on the test and he doesn't give you anything that is not in the notes. He loves loves jazz and plays the saxophone so well! Absolutely amazing
This guy is something else, doesn't teach and tests on materials that weren't taught in class. The course is extremely disorganized without the use of a textbook. Avoid this guy like the plague he is, he is quite possibly the worst professor at CSUN.
Its a very interesting and relaxing class i truly recommend it! You listen to great tunes and learn some interesting facts about the jazz genre. Three multiple choice exams, 2 concert reports, one term paper. Just be sure to attend all lectures as he tells you all test questions practically! Really nice and comical professor you wont fall asleep!
One of the most easiest classes ever! Only three Multiple choice exams throughout the semester. Lots of information but he literally tells you what will be on the test. There is no textbook required. All notes are online. He is always making jokes. I enjoyed going to this class. It's better to go to class and get the info than to miss it.
I truly enjoyed taking this class. He does a great job talking about jazz history and many important jazz musicians. He's hilarious and tells great stories. The class requires 2 concert reports, a term paper, and 3 tests. I recommend doing the concert reports in the beginning of the semester. He's great!! Take him!!
Loved Pozzi! He made me a jazz aficionado! His class was interesting and he knows everything off the top of his head. The book is NOT mandatory and I wouldn't spend the $8 on it again - I didn't use it all. No attendance required, except for review days before tests. He tells many stories, is funny, and easily approachable. Take his class!
Professor Pozzi is a great instructor and knows his stuff. He's funny and makes class enjoyable. He gives away test questions so it's helpful to attend class. My only complaint is that he only gives 3 exams, so if you mess up there's no going back.
Amazing professor! Funny and very familiar with jazz! He really wants his students to succeed and learn. Taking his class was very enjoyable and informative. Easy A. Everything that will be on the test is on the notes he posts on Moodle. Does not require a textbook and does not take attendance. Definitely recommend him!
Didn't mind going to school at 9am for this class. Very interesting course with a very funny professor. Pozzi is a cool guy who tells stories/jokes when people zone out. He knows what he's teaching and he does it well. Your grade is based on 3 exams so either you memorize those study guides or pay attention, and you'll do fine. Take his class!
Oh my God, this guy is AWFUL! Hated this class with a passion. I stopped showing up mid-semester after hearing him make fun of people with disabilities. This guy sucks, BIG TIME! Still showed up for the 2 midterms and the final, obviously. He posts his notes online, so as long as you study that, no point in showing up. Got an A, but hated the class
Pozzi makes this class very laid back and relaxing so if you need a easy GE and want to get into jazz take this class! class requires 2 concert reports, a term paper, and 3 tests, btw if your a music major might want to take another professor as he dosent go into great detail however i have to say thanks to pozzi i am now a jazz fan!
He's a great teacher, can make jokes to make keep the attention of all students, explains everything extremely clear and make sure everyone understands the subject before moving on.
Amazing Professor. His MUS306 (History of Jazz) class is very simple, 3 tests and he gives you the answers to all of them during class, so that should be incentive enough for you to attend. He is hilarious and very easy to understand, so if you need a laid back class to get an A in, choose this one!
Professor Pozzi was a gamechanger, throughout the whole semester I have learned a lot about the history of music and that was pretty rad! He also recommended me to listen to his favorite Jazz artists, which was a bonus to the "A" I am about to receive this semester.
Ok I literally showed up to this class 4 time only. The first day, 2 mid term, the final and I got a B. You could literally just study the notes online and do the test. His notes are pretty bad, you only need like one line from the notes for each question on the test.
Lecturer who knows the topic and conveys it in an interesting way. He is hilarious!! He doesn't take attendance but missing classes will make it more difficult for you come exam time. The class was a nice escape from reality and by far, one of the best classes offered at CSUN.
As soon as you walk into class soothing jazz music is playing. I knew this class was going to be awesome. I learned a lot about jazz music and the history of jazz in his class. Class consisted of 2 midterms, 2 concerts reports (must go to two jazz concerts) a 5 page jazz essay and Final exam. Super easy... The textbook for his class is cheap. : )
He provides all the notes for the exams, and the lectures he tells you what will be on the test. Awesome teacher with a great sense of humor.
Professor Pozzi was good and funny. the class was pretty easy since he goes completely off of the lecture notes provided and the tests are also based off the notes and also some material like songs that are covered in class and he also directly tells you whats going to be on the test during class.
Extremely easy class. May get boring at times but you do not have to go anyways. Although attending class can be helpful because he tells you what is going to be on the test rather than trying to remember everything on the notes. He has a good sense of humor and the class is interesting at times. No textbook required. 3, 50 multiple choice exams.
Professor Pozzi is an awesome dude. His class is very straightforward and the only thing your grade depends on is three 50 question tests which he pretty much gives you the answers for. He always cracks jokes and is entertaining to listen to. You don't have to go to class but if you do he tells you exactly what is on the test. I would take again
Fun class. you do not need to attend if you do not want to. 3 tests without a final ( he call the third a final but it is not ) all 3 tests notes are in moodle. Study them A If you go to class you will enjoy because he is funny. And he gives the tests questions during lecture. Your grade is all about three tests and that is it. ENJOYED
He made US music history come to life for me. He grades purely from the 3 tests, all non cumulative. Your score total is your grade in the class. You don't have to come to class because he doesn't take attendance and posts his lecture notes online, but coming to class is always great because it's interesting and he is hilarious. Very easy GE class.
I LOVED POZZI! One of my fav professors this semester! Was super funny & made subject interesting. Rambles sometimes. Love his laugh! 3 exams, non cumulative. Each 50 points. Ur grade is out of 150. So try to do well on exams. Final was the hardest exam bc it was kinda a lot of material. Record companies were tricky 2 remember so study those well.
There are 3 tests throughout the semester. No mid term or final, just tests. Final test you can take on last day of class or day of "final". He is so funny and entertaining. He always cracks jokes. He doesn't take attendance; all notes are on moodle. I would go to class though bcuz notes are long, so I just go to class to highlight important notes.
Want a relaxing class w funny prof? Here you go. He makes jazz fun & now I love it! 3 easy tests, 1 5-pg easy paper, 2 1-pg jazz reports (go to 2 jazz concerts of choice) & all papers due at end of sem. Just study especially for the listening ?'s as you just hear a small clip to guess the player. Great class to break up hard classes. He's awesome
very easy class just read the notes and you're good for the exam.
One of the best and funniest professors. 3 tests, provided notes. Do come to class because you can learn a lot although attendance isn't mandatory
BEST PROFESSOR! He is passionated, hard-core knowledgeable towards the subject and hilarious! He explains and gives you the answers to his exams. (3Exams only) No Homework, just come to class, or should I say "Comedy Show" I am thankful I Had him, Now I love Jazz myself, and understand the history of the formation of Popular Culture. Easy A!
A really great professor! Gives 3 tests. each worth 50 points. gives you the notes ahead of time. doesn't take attendance and is really chill.
He's such a great professor! Very funny and does not make class boring. Would definitely recommend him!
You have two options: 1. Show up at lectures and listen. He will tell you what's covered in the tests. Easy A. 2. Never show up and keep reading before the tests. Probably an A. If you really wanna LEARN something, this may not be the class. It does not require you to actually learn anything. If you want an A without working hard, this is it.
This is the class you want if you want an easy class to fill one of your ge req's. Its all lecture, notes are online, but why read? If you show up to class and pay attention you'll pass the class. Taking him again. Hes a funny guy. Would recommend to anyone.
Definitely one of the nicest and chillest professors at CSUN. His notes are online and in class he tells you what questions will be on the test. As long as you study the notes, you will do well.
Professor Pozzi is HILARIOUS. He makes the class time go by very smoothly and quickly because he makes it very fun. He lectured about the Blues era as if he was telling a story. Even though it was 8am class, I was always excited to start my day with this prof. TAKE HIM! He is very popular at CSUN and highly recommended. No txtbook only print outs.
This is the only class I will truly miss. Even before taking this class I liked old music so this class was pretty easy for me. Doesn't take attendance. Hilarious lecture breaks. Only 3 tests, no final, so you better study. 40 multiple choice & 10 listening questions on each test. Tells you exactly what's on the test from his lecture notes.
By far my favorite professor! Super easy class, provides the notes online all you have to do is print them out and his lectures are based off those notes. Very funny and chill, I hope to take him again in the future and recommend to everyone. Only 3 tests no homework and he tells you what's questions are gonna be on the test during his lectures
Honestly Professor Pozzi is probably the most chillest person you can take. He is hilarious and his class is an Easy A just read the notes he puts on moodle. BTW you might feel like you're getting lectured by HANK HILL. He sounds just like him lol!
Best professor I had this semester by far. Absolutely hilarious, he makes me want to show up to class because I want to learn from him. Course material itself is rather boring (NOT music today but music of 20th century)but he makes it interesting. 3 tests divided up every 5 weeks; LITERALLY WILL GIVE YOU ANSWERS IN CLASS as he goes over the notes.
Take him and get an A! As long as you study the lectures he posts on moodle you will get a 100% on his exams. Only 3 exams, he is SUPPER FUNNY and class wont be boring!! Overall amazing class. I enjoyed going to his lecture, and he also puts music in the beginning of class so its a very chill class, one of the best professors at Csun!!
He's so hilarious. His lectures are definitely NOT boring at all. He has notes up on moodle just print and bring to class. He gives you the answers to the exams. Easiest class I took this semester.
This was my favorite class by far. This Professor conducted himself in a manner to which he earned the respect of all his students, while also keeping the class interactive and fun. You do not have to show up, but the excitement of the classes kept drawing me back in. The best Professor I have had. Take this class Immediately. He is also Hilarious!
I have taken both of Pozzi's classes, MUS107 and MUS306. He is very knowledgeable on the subject that he teaches, and very it is apparent that he loves jazz. His classes are easy enough to where you can skip, but it is definitely worth showing up if you're into good music. He can definitely help people get into jazz.
This is my favorite professor of all time. He is enthusiastic about his lectures and is hilarious. His tests are super easy and he provides a set of notes for every test. Definitely a teacher to take for easy GE credit.
VERY passionate about jazz. Does not believe in textbooks which is good! Very funny and wants everyone to pass. He makes this class student friendly and if you spend at least 5 hours/week on studying this subject you will pass.
show up to class w/ his notes printed out, & he will tell you exactly what will be on the test. 3 tests, all worth the same. no quizzes, no assignments, no EC. he's hilarious, chill, & approachable. even if you don't show up to class, you can read his notes and will pass the exam. best class i've ever taken. comfortable environment, stress-free.
Very interesting class, I loved it because I don't know much about jazz. He is very passionate about this class and I recommend going to your concert early in the semester. You also have to do a 5 page essay but it's really easy and not graded harshly. His stories are the best and I always find myself laughing in that class. He's hot too
Prof. Pozzi is one amazing dude. Hehe, the guy kind of looks Count Dooku from Star Wars. Overall, an amazing prof. and the class was a freakin cake walk. I can tell you now the notes are all on Canvas and you can skip a few times, and an easy A. Take Him!!
Amazing! Hilarious! If I could, I would take him again. Attendance isn't mandatory, however I highly suggest going because he gives you test questions and answers as he is lecturing. Also, don't rely THAT much on the quizlet that people made online for his class, some information doesnt appear on the exam. You can't get lower than a B.
Love him & this class! Grade depends on 3 tests. He gives you all of the lecture notes -- they're posted online. Class is not mandatory, but I suggest going because he gives all of the Q&A's for tests during every lecture. He's hilarious and makes class enjoyable. Very passionate about jazz & blues. He made me love this style of music even more.
Professor Pozzi is the best by all means. He knows his stuff and lectures very well. Your grade is only based on 3 exams. However, if you go to class, take notes, and study well or for the exams the class shouldn't be difficult. He gives you the resources you need to pass so getting an A shouldn't be difficult.
I love this dude! He changed my taste in my music.
Professor Pozzi's class was very chill. All notes are available online making it not mandatory to attend; however, sometimes he gives clues on what'll be on the exams to students who attend. Studying was the most difficult part since you talk about a lot of artists and get no HW assigned, but the 3 exams which define your grade. Great professor.
Pozzi is such an awesome guy!!! his energy and enthusiasm at 8am was the best!!! he always managed to have us laughing while still learning so much about so matte different genres. 3 exams all answers and questions given in class so make sure you attend lecture. No book all info posted on canvas, he's the BEST!
Professor Pozzi is funny and has a great passion for his subject. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you should still show up because lectures help retain info. He gives you all the notes for lectures, so its easy to follow! There are 3 tests total. All out of 50 questions. Just study and you'll end up with a good grade.
BEST PROF EVER. I took him during morning times, and his energy was awesome! He was never boring and the lectures are awesome.. take his class you won't regret it. He made me love going to class!!
Amazing Professor! He's very funny and a well respected man.
Very passionate about this subject and enjoys jazz very much. The class is very chill and pleasant. Most of the time he will tell you what are the important notes to take for the test as he is stating them so knowing what to study and take notes for is easy.
Funniest prof. ever! Makes a ton of jokes. Sometimes the lecture gets really dry, so be prepared. Print out the test notes, as he basically talks about them every class, which is helpful. There are 3 tests, that's it. His grading scale is super easy too. I think 55-60% is a C. Just memorize musians names and song titles, and that summarizes it.
BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!! He made his lectures so fun & interesting. NEVER BORING! The class itself is super chill. Its based on notes & notes only (which is also provided on canvas), no homework, no other assignments, & only 3 exams. He LITERALLY tells you whats going to be on the test, & the notes he provides are basically a study guide as well.
Pozzi is a hilarious professor, passionate about what he teaches. More than memorization, he genuinely wants you to learn to appreciate music. 3 exams total, notes provided contains all the info you need. Class is more music history than "music today." Classes are strictly lecture-based, but still interesting b/c of his great personality.
Hands down an incredible professor, I always looked forward to his class because he was such an energetic and humorous person. He is so passionate about music, and he opened a new door to incredible music. He would always be impressed when I knew a certain band.
One of the funniest professors I've ever met. He gives you class notes online, and he tells you what questions will be on the tests. Highlight the key points on the notes, remember them, spend some time for the listening tests, and you will be fine. 2 midterms and a noncumulative final. Make-up exams are acceptable. Easy A. Highly recommend!
this class was wonderful i loved taking it! there are only 3 test that he provides throughout the whole semester. he provides detailed notes on canvas so you dont have to attend class. hes hilarious and so kind. he likes when people participate but doesnt push it. he allows makeup test days. and offers two days to take the last test (the final)
3 TEST, IF YOU DON'T STUDY or know the material you won't pass, cool professor. Lectures are cool, not boring but decent.
Super cool!!
One of the best Proffesors at CSUN. His lectures are amazing and charismatic. Only 3 test which consist of the class notes that are listed on canvas, easy to follow. Attendance not mandatory. 100% recommend.
Professor Pozzi is one of the best professors at CSUN, he truly cares about his students and there's always a good joke or story tied into each lesson. You should definitely sign up for this class.
He's a real chill Professor, he doesn't enforce buying textbooks or anything. Suggests to read textbooks on syllabus. He lectures every class about the genres of music, he also makes jokes in class and is very engaging. Exams are easy if you pay attention to the notes he puts on Canvas. Exams are ALL multiple choice.
He is awesome!! I took him for my GE class and he gives you every question on the test for each section. He has 3 tests and notes for every test already posted at the beginning of the semester. He only tests what's on the notes and most of his test is a listening portion so make sure you know the songs! No HW, really funny guy, easy A
Best professor I have had so far. He gives you the answers that are going to be on the test.
There are only 3 exams which are pretty easy as long as you just read the notes he gives you on canvas. Attendance isn't really necessary as long as you read the online notes, but he does review questions at the beginning of every class meeting which are the exact questions that will be on the test, it helps! Also, he makes dad jokes which is gr8!
Mr. Pozzi is an awesome teacher and really makes the class an engaging and fun experience. He is so worth taking! No work at all except tests and if you pay attention to his lectures and the notes he gives you, then the tests are very easy. He's also super funny!
His lectures were always interesting. All the notes are online, but its better to go to class because he tells you whats going to be on the tests. Only 3 tests. I just made a Quizlet for each test and got and A on every test. Hes also really entertaining to listen to, although I had him for an 8am, I never was falling asleep in his class.
If you want an awesome professor, Professor Pozzi is the best professor. He is very funny and his lectures are always interesting. There are only 3 tests, and the notes for the tests are provided, but I suggest going to the lecture either way because he tells you what topics and what you will need to know that will be mentioned on the tests.
I really enjoyed this course I ended with a B only because I didnt show up to a solid 4.5 weeks of class but if I did it would have been such an easy A
He is funny and the class is really easy to pass! I attended class every time I had him and never missed just because his class was my favorite and he was funny. I didn't pass his first exam just because I didn't study all my notes but TAKE HIM and quizlets also help!!!!!
This was the most enjoyable class of my semester. He is such a funny guy who loves what he does. Make sure you attend lecture because he tells you EXACTLY whats on the 3 tests of the semester. Also print out the notes before class. Its a lot easier than writing them out by hand.
Honestly, I enjoyed Professor Pozzi, he is really funny and only graded you on 3 test! just study the notes! and also before class, he gives mini class questions from the test and those are literally the questions on the test.
He was honestly one of my favorite professor ever. I never skipped his lectures because it was a great start of my morning & he always had something new to talk about the class which made it so fun to go. His grading is based on 3 tests. Which are easy when you have his notes.
An amazing professor that made the course more interesting than it already was! Even though I had this class in the morning (I took this course in SP '19), he still kept me engaged with the material. Would definitely recommend for anyone that needs to take this course for GE requirement.
Had him Spring 2018. Easiest class I've ever taken & Hilarious Professor. Entire grade is based only on 3 tests. I felt it only necessary to go because he would literally say "This will be on the test". Gave me an easier time when studying for his tests. Highly recommend this class for easy units or just a time to relax.
Real sweetheart! Only three tests (don't even have to show up for final if you do the 3rd test). No textbook, he provides notes. The class is fun with his jokes and overall very easy course. No homework whatsoever, just study on your own. He's very understanding and genuine. Favorite professor this semester. Take him if you can!
A very memorable professor. His class is overall fun too attend because he engages you with the stories he tells and how excited he seems too share his knowledge of music to others. Attendance is not mandatory just make sure to show up on test days and look over the notes. Tests are on computer using respondus lockdown browser.
Professor Pozzi was the best professor for this course. He just talks about the styles of music and the artists and famous people for the entire class. He has a really good sense of humor! There is no homework just 3 tests that are your grade. His grading scale is like no other, he just wants you to pass. :)
he is extremely easy, please just listen to him and take a few notes if you want, but i never showed up to his class and i passed with an A! what i heard he is very nice
Professor Pozzi is a literal angel. Such a great professor. If you read his notes, you'll do great in his class, it's very simple. I am not a morning person but he definitely made my mornings, he was always so happy. You don't have to go to class but I recommended it because he'll point out what's on the test.
This is for people that just need to take some g.e class. He's so cool, records all zoom sessions so you can go back and watch if you miss or don't log on:) Based on 3 exams, he gives you all the questions and goes over the answers before the exam. 2 concert reports (only 2 pgs) and a paper (5 pgs). You have to try hard to fail this class lol
Very fun class to take especially during virtual learning with 100+ students on zoom. Was actually the only class I looked forward to waking up for at 9 AM ever in college. Grade is based on three exams. Lecture attendance is not mandatory because he records them, but you will be missing out on entertainment if you don't.
Such an amazing professor! I never thought a class could be as enjoyable as his was. The only assignments were 3 exams, but he provides you with his notes to study from. He also does short reviews at the beginning of each class, but those are not graded. He is someone who truly wants you to pass and managed to make a 9AM class fun.
Absolutely loved this king! super chill and funny. Attendance isnt mandatory but I still showed up every class bc hes great. Three easy tests and he gives you the notes and records the lectures in case you dont make it to class
Wonderful professor! one of the best at CSUN! The most organized grading system. Interesting class. Learned a lot via Zoom.
Took this class as a GE and it was a wonderful time. Very pleasing to listen to during lecture. Every lecture he will tell a joke in the middle as a way of taking a break for a minute. He gives you the material for all 3 Tests on the first day but I recommend attending the lectures. Really great professor and overall really great person. Recommend.
Really sweet professor, I really enjoyed learning the material. It is a super easy class, but don't take it just for that reason. The only assignments in this class are three exams.
He's a real sweetheart and a super passionate guy. His love for music is so genuine. Only 3 tests were given which he provides study guides for. It's an easy class but you really learn a lot! I would take him again if I could :) No textbook needed he provides all the info you need. Definitely recommend taking his class, he's great!
3 tests for this class and all of them are from the notes he provides you with. Take your own notes too while he is lecturing and all the test questions will be from there. He also gives you hints to test questions while he is lecturing. Free A if you decide to take Professor Pozzi
He's such a great professor. We only 3 test the whole semester. You can tell he's really passionate when he teaches. He would love to answer any question you have. Overall, super nice guy and such an easy A. If you're a freshmen needing to fill in a requirement you won't regret taking this class.
His class was online but allowed students to take it in an asynchronous format too. Graded us on three tests, and the answers were in his lecture notes. Read his lecture notes and you should do fine. He does review in class and makes his lectures interesting and fun.
Funny and really good Professor. Entertaining class. Show up and pass. Tests are open notes. Difficult not to pass with a C or higher
Im so glad that I found a professor who cares and actually loves teaching! Trust me best music prof out there he is sooo cool and relaxed. Only 3 assignment out of the semester which are easy because he allows notes.
He is such a caring professor! There are only 3 assignments and they are tests. All the answers are on the notes so don't worry. He goes over reviews during class time so you'll definitely be prepared for the test. If you miss class he will always record the class and upload it to canvas. Best professor overall!!
Loved Professor Pozzi. Only three tests and always posts recorded lectures for those who couldn't attend his online ZOOM lectures. Enjoyed learning about the history of music in the US. Pop quizzes every morning to see if students have learned the material. Also posts his notes on Canvas. Take him for a GE class. Hilarious and responds to comments.
Best music professor at CSUN! Very caring and loved by every student. He always records and posts lectures. Three exams which are the easiest. Very easy A. If you want to really enjoy a class, this is the one as long as you pay attention and love any music! Highly recommend Pozzi!
what a lovely human. three tests (everything you need to know is on the notes he gives), two concert reports (2 pages each), and a term paper (5 pages) no need to buy textbooks. prof is very approachable and responds to emails
Very easy class and is actually pretty interesting as well. 3 exams and 3 papers; grade is based on collecting points from these. Do at your own pace format. Fast at responding to students' emails and is quite motivated about the course. No reason you shouldn't pass as you have all semester to complete the assignments. Great professor!
Take this class and teacher it counts for graduation. Fun class with music.
The class consists of 3 tests, 1 report paper, and 2 concert reports (in person or on Youtube). Papers aren't mandatory if you get 100% on tests. Tests are easy. He provides notes.
This class is really easy if you just need an A. There are 3 papers due at the end of the semester but they're available from the beginning of the semester; two concert reports and one term paper that can be on any topic related to Jazz. And there are 3 exams but you don't have to watch lectures because he literally provides the notes. Super easy
Provides online recorded lectures with the notes and music files you will need on exams. Responds timely to emails. With the 2 reports and 1 term paper he is very flexible with giving you the power of choice. Grading scale is VERY forgiving. Don't overthink the class, read the syllabus and pay attention to opening day instruction & it'll be an ez A
The easiest class you could imagine. Three online tests and that is it. They are spaced out every month and a half.
Professor Pozzi was always understanding and always brought it up before an exam. He also provided you with notes for exam which help out alot.
Easiest class ever, 3 tests spaced out across a month or so and that's it. Did not ever have to worry about this class.
Yes it is an easy class but he is also very passionate about what he teaches and his lectures are worth attending. 3 tests spaced out, no homework, and gives you a clear overview of what to expect.
Simple and easy. I got some good song recommendations from his class which was a nice bonus.
Pozzi's class is a breeze - only 3 tests, open-note format, and engaging lectures. Use Unstuckstudy for extra prep, and you'll ace this fun GE course.
- 3 exams but no homework whatsoever -easiest class for a free elective
David Pozzi is one of the best professors I've taken! He truly cares about his students and his grading system is the best! This class consisted of 3 exams (easy by using notes he provided), 2 concert reports, & term paper! P.S if you do good on your exams, you can miss the reports/papers and still pass with a B.
Professor Pozzi was great! This course was super easy literally it's just 3 exams that's it and attendance isn't mandatory. There's no readings or homework or assignments just those three exams each containing 50 questions. A course to not stress about, take Professor Pozzi you won't regret it.
The best professor I've had at CSUN! His lectures are very entertaining to watch, he has a great knowledge of music and the history of music. He turned me into a fan of jazz and the history of it as well.
Literally the easiest class I've ever taken. No lectures, a few online quizzes, and a few papers. You have to be a different breed of stupid to fail this class. Easy credits.
Professor Pozzi was great! I took three online exams, expect one term paper and two music reports. I would have received an A, but I decided to focus on my level 400 course for my major and take a B in his class instead. Exams are all online! I would definitely take him for elective credit.
Amazing teacher!!! Clearing cares and passionate about what he talking about.
it is a good class
He is a warm and caring professor. Provides lots of notes for his tests. He is very passionate about Jazz and was just a delight.
Genuinely easiest class of my life. Attendance not mandatory, three tests whose answers are all given to you on the study guide, I forgot I was even taking this class. He does do zoom lectures if you want to attend and actually learn something. He seems very passionate about music and is a nice guy for making the class this easy for the rest of us.
