If you can follow the way he talks, you will learn a great deal from him. He is not a natural teacher though, he's more of a very experienced engineer. If you have experience with people who frequently go off topic, but in a good way and in a way that still keeps with the core subject, you will love him.

Very little content learned through the semester. He tested stuffs taught after midterm in midterm exam, ummm.. Expect you to fill in the blanks in an exam, so generally if you messed up with some calculation, you lose all the marks, almost no partial mark given. Exams questions aren't hard but quite unclear.

Don't take him if you want to learn something. Also his material is nowhere near the actual department's course outline. He is a very complicated teacher who shouldn't be teaching undergrad classes. You won't even have any clue what he is talking about. His final is different from other sections too.

He does not follow a textbook because in his words "Everyone who writes textbooks are morons". He skips over import stuff like logic gates . OK he's not as bad as people make him out to be. I wouldn't take him again, but you can still get a decent grade even if you have no clue what's going on. Lectures are VERY confusing, but try to pay attention. You need to go to tutorials, they are the real lecture. The final was the same as the midterm, with some changes. Expect to fail the midterm

We're at the midterm and I still don't know what this course is about. I don't know what Probst wants or what he's trying to do. I don't understand his notes and why he doesn't use LaTeX or, at least, PDFs. This is just a weird, saddening experience. Some may say I'm depressed and well that's just what Probst does to you.

His "lectures" are incomprehensible, he will make a mistake mid-sentence, pause for 5 seconds, correct himself and then continue as if nothing happened, then go on a tangent, and then come back an hour later, and you will not have progressed through the course material. Was that sentence long? That's how his lectures are, a 1-hour sentence.

I'll get downvoted but whatever, I did learn quite a bit of interesting stuff in his class. The big problem with Probst is that there is no structure to his course and you have no idea what he wants nor how to prepare for his exams (they're somewhat close to the assignments fortunately). Go to your tutorials, for real your TA will save your life.

Skip class? You won't pass.

He is a very distinctive person whenever he has any idea that pops into his mind he says it. The Tutorial was the main source to understand the course.
