This guy can teach! Great prof. to take if your not so hot on math skills. Not to say this class is easy, his style of teaching and way of breaking down problems makes the material very comprehensible.

He is an extremely helpful teacher. If there is a problem that you have he will do his best to help you out. His grading is tough, but if you do all your work you will do fine. His exams aren't too difficult, as long os you study and do homework. Overall he is excelent and I would advise anyone to take him.

He is extremely helpful, especially if you go to his office hours. While his tests and grading are difficult, he ensures that you know the material that you are tested on. Overall, he is a great teacher who is willing to work with any student who shows effort. He will not hand you your grade...you have to earn it...this is college people.

I am not good in Alegebra at all I have taken this class 3 time and he made me ubderstand it enough I couls explain it to some one else very funny and gets students envovled loved him!!

Mr.Puente is the best math teacher I have ever had. He knows what he is teaching about and why. You will of course have to try, but you will come out of this class a much better math student. I also really like that nothing is done online. I wouldnt take math from any other teacher at TCC

Mr. Puente is by far the best math teacher at TCC and also the best teacher I have ever had. He truly understands what he is teaching, and does his best to show you the simplest method of finding the answer. He teaches in a way that you walk away actually understanding the material. If you try in this class, you will succeed.

Mr. Puente is a great teacher. He is very funny and his classroom environment is relaxed. I had to get a tutor for his class because some things he did not explain in depth to the people who do not know much about math. I am terrible at math but I got an A in his class. You can get a good grade but you do have to try.

Mr. Puente is AWESOME! Best Math teacher I've probably ever had, no book just notes. your homework is your review,(you can print the review from your web page which he sends to all students) he makes sure you understand what your doing. If you want to hurry up and finish the remedial class your being forced to do choose Puente.

Best math teacher I have ever had. I failed algebra in high school and have hated math ever since but he has made me change my mind. He is absolutely hillarious and explains things very well. He is SUPER smart. If you need help, go by his office during his office hours and he is very helpful or get into a study group. STUDY HARD and you'll do fine.

Mr. Puente is a beast. Definitely a very hard math professor, but f you follow along and get help when needed, you'll do fine. I would pick him over an easy math teacher any day. You learn a heck of a lot more in a fun way. Just make sure your name sn't Gabrielle

I had to retake math 0304 due to failing last semester. Mr. Puente is a very good math professor in my opinion. He is cool & laid back! He does joke a lot which I liked. He doesn't mind you being late just make sure you come. It's easy to catch on to what he is teaching. Sometimes he moves fast so pay attention. I passed his class with a B! :-)

If you want to actually learn something. Then his class is the one for you. NOT AN EASY Class... But I got an A..! If you are lazy, you WILL fail his class. MR Puente is known as the hardest college algebra teacher on campus. So buckle up and enjoy the ride.

Mr. Puente prides himself on being the hardest teacher on campus and I don't think any teacher should be proud of that. Teachers should want you to learn and succeed. Having said that he does put the algebra in real world applications which makes it easier to understand and he is very knowledgeable and is very clear in his explanations.

I WAS horrible in math but Mr. Puente was very helpful and motivating, I will be looking for him next math class I take. He has a great passion for seeing that his students pass, and he loves math. Mr. Puente is a great professor! But he does move through material very quickly. I had not taken a math class in 10 years and thought I would struggle but I made a B+. Keep up with the homework. He announces when quizzes will be in class and also thoroughly reviews the test reviews. He wants you to succeed and will help in any way he can.

I hadn't taken Math in over 10 plus years. Definitely will have to work to keep up. Mr. Puente was knowledgeable but sometimes taught a little to fast. I took the class in the summer but still got a B. Probably would have recd an A otherwise.

Prof. Puente is a great awesome professor! He know how to explain math and shows every step so students can understand how its done. He does go sometimes a little fast but you can raise your hand and he is willing to help. He says he is the hardest math teacher but I've been making 100's on test and quizzes so he takes me as a challenge.

Great Professor! He's pretty clear on what he's talking about, if you pay attention, go to his office hours for help, and ask a lot of questions, then that class should be a piece of cake. He goes over everything step by step and answers all of your questions. But if you miss a class, you're screwed.

He is a great professor! I loved his teaching style and how he showed step by step instructions on everything we went over. All of the quizzes are take home but you most show ALL of your work, step by step or he we will take off. He also gives extra credit for working problems on the board and reading out loud. We didn't use our textbook at all.

GREAT PROFESSOR. GIVES EXTRA CREDIT. QUIZZES AND EXAMS ARE EASY. He goes over all basics algebra. It is like taking algebra in High School. IF YOU WERE BAD AT IT, THEN YOU MAY GO AHEAD AND SAY HE IS THE WORST TEACHER EVER. HE IS A GREAT PROFESSOR. WE are who decide if we want to be the BEST or WORSE student.

He was great! It had been almost 28 years since I took algebra and he is the absolute most helpful teacher. If you want to do well he will help you after class during his office times. You must show up to every class and when he passes out sample tests, take them and do all of them. It will definitely help on the actual tests.

Prof Puente is so nice. I would definitely take his class. He uses MyMathLab so the work is straight from the program. I finished the class about mid semester because you work at your own pace. Attendance is required until you finish the class though. He was always available to help when needed.

Prof. Puente is an amazing teacher! He is a tough grader and has his own method of teaching but he makes you learn the material. He does 4 tests and the final. With 10 quizzes and he drops the lowest. His tests may not be the easiest but you learn about real life things for example about home and car loans which no other teacher offers that

Very well rounded teacher show up to class and study the maximum amount of hours you can, likely pass the class. He gives serval opportunities for students to pass his class you must take advantage of them. No textbook is needed, but lectures are mandatory to pass the class, looking for an easy grade find a different course, this is what college is supposed to be though.

He does a lot of in class work. No online work. I am a visual learner and he helped me a lot with doing his work in class.

Dr. Puente is extremely caring about his students and will help you if you want to make an A or pass. However, only if you log hours in the math lab or go to office hours for help. There are 4 tests worth 15%, 10 "quizzes"15% (take home), and a comprehensive final ( 25%). He likes to joke about students and math so if you're shy take another prof.

Mr. Puente worked with the class very well and even went back over things he could see the class was struggling on. He also formulated the last test, before the final, over things we did best on. He gave a couple completion grades and really tried to help us all pass. But he does not want to teach outside class and he was somewhat a tough grader.

Mr Puente is one of the best math teachers out there. He truly cares about each and every one of his students success. Sometimes students don't see that because he challenges his students. Every material that he covers is explained very well and he shows you how to apply it in real life. He's an awesome teacher I would definetely recommend him.

NEVER miss if possible. NO TEXT BOOK. He writes down every problem you need too know exactly how it will be on the tests. He teaches you REAL life math like how to buy a car and how to be retired by 40! ITS NEVER BORING. Hes always available to help! do the practice probs for EVERYTHING its the only way to get an A in the class. HE IS THE BEST!

Most math teachers Ive experienced make the lessons feel like its in a foreign language, but Puente shows you math in way that is easy to understand, straight forward, & often humorous. He can tell how & why something is in an equation -doing so frontwards and backwards. Studying & attendance is a must & hes always happy to help or listen.

He explains the material thoroughly but his test are a little hard, you just need to study a little harder. Good and funny interactions with the class. Very caring, he will try his hardest to help everyone pass, he never gave up on me! Amazing professor over all!

Mr. Puente is an AMAZING professor! I definitely recommend him to anyone. He is very helpful and dedicated to helping his students. He helped me numerous times. I stayed hours in the math emporium tutoring lab and Mr. Puente was always there to support and help me. He is an awesome professor!!! Definitely take his class!!!

He is one of the best professors I have taken in my college experience. He takes his time to teach every step of the curriculum. I 100% recommend him. His tests aren't difficult; he prepares you well in the lectures, as long as you're paying attention and have a study group you will be fine. He encourages study groups and he is so funny.

Dont let Puente scare you off. He acts scary and like his class is very difficult, but hes an amazing teacher. Truly great at what he does. Literally just pay attention and copy the notes hes writing down and youll be golden. Tests are difficult, but he gives you ample resources to study with. Very relatable too, enjoyable class. I took Mr. Puente for college algebra and I thought he was a great teacher. We didn't use the book at all so it was nice to save money on that. He gave me plenty of practice problems to get ready for the test. If you just put in the time you will definitely pass the class.

Mr. Puente was the greates instructor I had ever had. I took his class on my first semester and he did help me a lot if great advice. When I attended his class, he made everything to be very obvious and inspirational. He also offered great help if you come to ask for help after class at his office hours! Puente has been one of my favorite profs. He's very relaxed, a good teacher and has interesting and revelant stories and his lessons might actually be useful like how to know if youre getting a good deal on a car Gives out a lot of work but most of it is for practice not grades. There are quite a few test but taken on your own time outside of class

This was the best math class I have ever taken. Nearly self-set, there are certain goals to meet each week but you can log on any time to work whenever you want. Incredibly easy to get ahead, and you can finish the course in the first week if you are determined enough. Very helpful, and explains all content outside of class if needed! Very nice guy

Mr. Puente was veryyyyy gracious with his grading and makeup work. Math is where I struggle and he gives plenty of opportunity to do your very best and make up bad grades! I wish I could have taken him on campus, it's very hard for me personally to retain information online for math, I think i definitely would have gotten a better grade.

Professor Puente has so much wisdom to give. He uses real life examples to guide his students away from mistakes we all make with our first big purchases in life. He cares about his students a lot. One day I had been crying all morning and when I got to his class he checked up on me and offered his help. I was so grateful, no one else even noticed.

Professor Puente was amazing. He was kind and made class fun! I will say the final seemed to be filled with some things that we didn't go over in class. But overall, he's a great professor, and he cares about his students. He really wants you to pass, as well as actually learn. Not just learn math to learn it, but to apply it in your everyday life!

Don't listen to all the negative comments, this professor was the greatest I've had. Not only did he walk us through what we needed to learn in class and went over the homework before we even did it. He also taught real life skills and knowledge that I use today. He is there to answer any questions you have and really wants to see you succeed.

Very fun class, a lot of lectures but it felt more like conversation than anything else. As long as you are attentive then learning the material is easy. We only have a few essays and she graded them all pretty easily.

He used a website called Cegage where everything was in. The website was ok, it didn't really help you if it just said "read it," but if you asked Puente he will help you. Other than the website, his lectures were good, sometimes they felt long but it wasn't bad, he gives many extra points opportunities for tests, he's funny, you'll be fine.

Mr. Puente is a cool guy who is always there for his students. He is one of the main reasons why I barely managed to pass pre-calculus. I learned a lot from him, and I wish he could teach again for Business Calculus.

I took Professor Puente's Coreq Algebra class, and since the start he had told us that it was all on the online program ALEKS. The program sucks but it's not his fault, he did help us with problems the class would ask about and he explained very well. To pass the class you really need to get the HW up to a 90+ or you will fail. Puente was great!
