Quintanilla is an amazing prof!!! He has super clear lectures and is such a cool and laid back guy. He really cares about his students and wants you to succeed. I would take him again if I could!

I signed up to take Mr. Q because he was the only professor still available, but I am so grateful that that's how the cards fell. Mr. Q is a lovely person. He really wants you to think for yourself. Yes, this is a Business Law course, but he has a Master's is Philosophy and he really stresses the importance of being able to think for yourself. :)))

Mr. Q is an engaging lecturer and a very sincere person who teaches you life lessons that will last beyond the course. We always discussed current events that helped contextualize the concepts we learned. Be prepared to read and speak during class.. tests are tricky but curved a ton. This class kept me "woke" and is one of my all-time faves! Love!!

Mr Q is honestly the most amazing professor I've EVER had at UT!! I could literally cry writing this review because of how much I LOVED THIS CLASS! (not kidding) Tests aren't too hard if you pay attention in class and you could probs get away with not doing the reading BUT if you do it before class and it makes the discussion so much better!

Literally the greatest professor ever. His tests are a little tough, but they are curved. He is actually so caring and personable, I think he understands what students go through on a way greater level than other professors do. The lectures are so fun and engaging, and he is so knowledgeable. You have have have to take LEB with him.

Love him as a person, but wasn't a fan of his class. You have to go to class and write down every little thing we discuss to get a good grade on the tests. Grading on all the assignments was unclear-there's no rubric and you are compared to other students, then given a grade.

As a senior, I can confidently say that Professor Q's class has been one of the best in my entire college career. He is always accessible, whether by appointment or phone call, and encourages each of his students to think for themselves. Although it was challenging, I cannot recommend this class enough. Take him if you can!

I took Prof Q during summer and wow he is such a great lecturer. We had 3 assignment (easy 100), participation, group project (2-3hrs), and 3 exams. Exams were not as hard if you read and listened during class. We talked about current issues and practical laws that we can utilize later in our lives. He was available most of the week. TAKE HIM!

Prof Q is an extremely nice and caring professor that goes out of his way to make sure students understand the material. He will even speak with you over the phone if you cant come to office hours. However, his tests are difficult and his participation grading is relative to other classmates, meaning it penalizes the naturally quieter students.

MR.Q IS THE BEST! He genuinely cares about his students and makes an effort to get to know you. His lectures are extremely engaging and he gives amazing examples to better explain concepts. The tests can be tricky but if you read the textbook, listen in class, and ask questions, you'll go great. Honestly, this is the best class I've taken at UT!

Professor Quintanilla is one of my favourite professors I've ever had. He really encourages student participation, which is really helpful to help understand the material. Tests are open note (no electronic notes, until online school) and open book. I took this class during COVID19 and he made it very easy to keep track of work and material.

I LOVED this class! Mr. Q is really one of those teachers that brings the class to life. I took this class during COVID-19 and he always made sure everyone was okay. You will have to read a lot, but other than that the class is so engaging and interesting that it was without a doubt a highlight of my semester.

So Professor Q is my favorite professor ever. I didn't do well on his exams, which is basically the grade for this class (super test and reading heavy), but he is super chill and funny and he cares. He knows everyone's name, stops class to make sure that we know our rights, and teaches some really interesting concepts in really amusing ways.

Mr. Q is awesome. The class is super pragmatic--you'll learn more about real-world things than any other class. The chapters apparently have been condensed down and 10 pages at most. Go to his lectures because 75% of the exam is the stuff he'll say in class.

I'm only one month in and he's the best professor I've had at UT Austin. He's a great speaker with charisma, and there are things we learn beyond the textbook. He is super articulate and smart but on top of that a great person.

Mr. Q is an eloquent and charismatic speaker but he randomly calls on people in class and expects everyone to talk in class. He often goes off on tangents or creates scenarios that are not relevant to the test or context to the lecture. Despite going to every lecture and studying the book intently his test was difficult, office hours recommended.

11/10 professor with amazing lectures that makes learning about business law fun. Class participation is highly recommended and is a graded factor but he makes it easy to participate! Group project, small assignments and exams are other components of the class. I literally recommend this class to people even if they just need an elective.

He is a terrific lecturer and teaches a very compelling class. I would give him 5/5, but was not given my participation points (10% of your grade). Said you only had to participate 3 times to get full credit; I participated 6 times and only got a 7/10. Take notes on the class and book for open note exams; it helps a lot to merge them w the slides.

Hilarious professor with incredibly engaging lectures that I not only actively listened to, but genuinely enjoyed going to. Highly recommend that you go to all the lectures, as the test questions typically have stuff ripped from lectures (e.g. "The conclusion that we determined in class regarding the means principle of the Trolley Problem was...")

This class was my favorite class. He does cold call, but he makes it so fun that you end up wanting to participate. And this is coming from someone who never raises their hand. The tests are easy if you go to class, and his textbook is the modified version compared to the other LEB professor's textbooks. Open note and book tests.

Attendance is not required, nor are the readings, but both are very helpful for Exams. The exam format is multiple choice, 3 exams, the first two noncumulative, and the last one is a term exam, so it is cumulative. Awesome guy

This is the BEST class I've ever taken at UT. Prof Quintanilla teaches material in the most passionate, well-thought-out, relatable way - it's truly inspired. He does require class participation (has us pull out name cards at the beginning of each class), but believe me when I tell you it's never intimidating, and has kept me consistently engaged!

This was the best class I've taken at UT because of the absolute passion Quintanilla has for the course. It makes you want to show up to lectures. Reading isn't bad as it's mostly learning about vocab concepts and learning how to apply them. If you have a chance to take any of his classes you will not regret it. Truly a role model.

If you think law might ever be applicable to you, you have to take this class. This may be the best UT professor. The professor is amazing. Be aware that he is pushy to have participation in class, but the questions are low stakes and easy to follow. Class preparation can require some reading from a mandatory McCombs textbook which is not cheap.

only take this class if you're a good test taker. the exams are written in a confusing way so you can fail.

He connects concepts to the real world rather than teaching law and ethics in a sterilized environment. Read before class + participation is encouraged!

prof q is so goated. he truly cares about his students & it was one of my favorite classes. lectures were insanely engaging that it's pretty much impossible to be bored in class. we could use the textbook and our notes on exams & participation is part of your grade, but prof q made it pretty easy to get all your points. he also has the best TAs.

I looked forward to class everyday. Prof Q lectures in such an engaging and conversational way that even the most dry law facts become memorable. At first I was scared about the participation requirement but there were so many opportunities to answer questions. And he made it a point to remember students' names despite teaching hundreds a sem.

Professor Quintanilla was incredibly kind, wise, and passionate. If I could re-take his course every semester I would. And the only thing I mourn about graduating is to not be able to retake his course again.

I am so sad I will be graduating and will not be able to take his course again. He's kind, caring, knows every student and will check up on you even after you are done with his course. Engages everyone and genuinely made me question if I wanted to go to law school because of how interesting this class was. Last day of class had everyone in tears.

I love this man; he is an incredible lecturer and an extremely caring, intelligent professor. I can't say enough good things about him, frankly. If you have the opportunity to take a class with Professor Quintanilla, DO IT! I promise you will never be bored in class, and you will always have a caring professor to rely on.

AMAZING. Resources readily available, TA's communicative, assignments clear and professor brought a warmth, passion, and enthusiasm that kept the room full every lecture in a non mandatory attendance class. This class made me remember what it was like to love learning. Best class I've ever taken, can't say enough good things about Prof Q.

This was hands down the best class I've ever taken at UT. He gives 100% every single class and you can genuinely feel how much he cares about teaching and his students. I looked forward to every class because he made everything engaging and meaningful. If you get the chance to take him, DO IT. Easily the BEST professor at UT!

AWESOME lecturer, so knowledgeable, teaches so well, super inspiring and down to earth/real with you, useful content. Hardest part about him is his quizzes and test questions, he makes things tricky and traps you but also everything he tests about has been lectured over. Take him and you will appreciate how much you change + grow.

Genuinely the best lecturer I have ever had, even for a class that didn't require attendance I found myself wanting to go hear him speak. If you knew me you would know how shocking that really is. Would highly recommend to anyone, he made what I thought was going to be a boring class for my minor into one of my most memorable courses ever

He truly cares about your learning. Attendance is not mandatory, but participation (speaking- he keeps track) is graded, so you should show up. His lectures are fun anyway, and his teaching style is easy to understand. He is also very funny and keeps his students very engaged. Just make sure you are doing work for his class or he will call you out.

Prof Q is one of the best. You will want to show up to class b/c his lectures are so great, but be ready to raise your hand and participate for a grade. I didn't find exams too difficult, he will try to trick you but everything tested is taught in lecture. This class will make an impact on your life!

Business law sounds like it would be boring, but he makes it exciting and shows how useful it is for everyday life. He makes lectures engaging, interesting, and memorable. As a CS major, this class felt like a breath of fresh air. Definitely one of my favorite professors at UT. Just make sure to keep up with the readings and participate in class.
