I love when professors follow their notes, and he does exactly that. You don't have to rush to write everything down because it's all there. Altho he talks fast, it's always clear & well explained. Excellent lecturer.

Prof Ragsdale is talking sooo fast! Yet he has such a clear tone. It's like having 2 lectures per class, but it's no big deal, since the material isn't that hard, he's a great lecturer and his notes are complete and helpful.

Dr. Ragsdale is the BEST lecturer ever. He's so clear and has such a clear voice that you wish to have him teach all the courses. He has a very good and ORIGINAL sense of humour. He also goes over the stuff from last lecture at the beginning of each lecture and connects all the topics very nicely.

Ragsdale has a nice voice but I fell asleep a few times. However, upon relistening of the lectures...he is very clear, he goes over things to make sure you understand. Exam questions are fair, overall a very good prof.

he was the best teacher out of all the physio teachers. his slides were great..lots of good detail so you didn't have to work so hard to find out stuff on your own. he talked really fast, but you get used to it. i wish he taught physio 210..

Ragsdale is the man. One of the best proffs I've ever had. He will talk really fast, but repeats everything about three times, so it sticks in your head. After he lectures for an hour you actually understand what was being taught, because he's really clear. Also one of the funniest proffs, an awsome sense of humour.

The best prof. in PHGY 209. His slides are very well organized, almost no need to take down notes in class. He presents the material just as shown on the lecture slides so it's extremely easy to follow. He knows how to teach for sure!! However, he talks very fast so pay attention in class. You miss one point and he's already two slides ahead.

Ragsdale's by far the best prof I've had at McGill! he's clear and concise and he's not out to trick you but to teach you and be interested in the material. omg his examples are hilarious (like when he was explaining the sympathetic system and used getting attacked by a pack of mongoliam gerbils as an example). I didn't know I could fall in love, but I fell in love with this man! His voice is just so mesmerizing. Even when you are not paying attention to him, you still can still manage to understand what he's saying because he repeats the same concept many times in different ways. I don't go to any class but I wouldn't miss his class for the world.

Nothing short of amazing. He really does live up to all the praise. He repeats himself over and over so that the material gets drilled into your head. Awesome teacher! He explains the material in a way that anyone can understand. Write down what he says and he'll only test you on that. His exam questions are very straightforward. You'll want to attend every class he teaches. Trust me, they're worth it.

Extremely interesting material. Ragsdale should have a 10 out of 5 clarity rating, he's an amazing lecturer. It's crazy how he manages to articulate fairly abstract concepts to make it easy for his students. The course is easier than previous years now that Ragsdale is teaching it. One of the best professors I've had at McGill.

I can't say enough good things about him. I wish I had taken all of my intro to neuro courses with him because he just makes everything so freaking clear and interesting. He also has a very nice voice to listen to so you won't fall asleep regardless of how much interest you actually have in the subject.

Extremely clear lecturer. he is funny and even if the class it at the earliest possible time on a monday morning, you see people going all the time. i cant say enough good things about this guy!! he explains super complicated concepts in 20min and whole class understood, whereas other teachers talked for 2hrs and people were still confused.

Look, it doesn't get better than this. He IS the greatest professor here at McGill. This man takes the hardest concepts and vulgarizes/teaches it to such an extend that you don't need to study the material per se. He is so clear and concise that the material is registered and learned right after the class. No midterm, 100% final (lab/theory).

2nd time round having this prof and he is truly fantastic. Some profs will have a lecture and by the end of it you'll be in a state of "...huh?" b/c they'll over complicate concepts, and make it seem harder than it ought to be. But not this guy. Great prof, doesn't focus on testing you on every tiny detail, but the overall concepts. Go to lectures.

I had him for both phgy209 and Anat321 and I have to say, he is the most amazing prof I had at McGill. He made Anat321 a great experience. He truly cares for his student, he answers our questions after classes and his exam was simple if you understood the concepts. Only MCQ final (and lab exam), Doesn't test you on details. Easy A :)

Oh my god :))))))) best prof ever. I always hated neuroscience, but he made me so interested about it. When you are listening to him in the class it is like watching a movie, you don't want the class to end. The exam questions were veryyyyy fair. probably the best professor that I have had so far.

So even though it is a science that requires a bit of memorization, most of it is already in your head if you attend lectures. Doesn't pack his lectures with unnecessary, nitty gritty names and details .

A very interesting class that really makes you understand the functional parts of the brain. Dr. Ragsdale's lectures were very engaging and its clear that he is passionate about teaching. There is a good amount of material by the final but Dr. Ragsdale provides very clear expectations on what he wants you to know. Overall its a great class to take!

Take this class if interested in Cook's section of PHGY 210. Mostly about the sensory systems and a large part about motor function. Things become fairly abstract at the end of the course. Interest in the topic is important. Content can be hard to understand. A LOT TO MEMORIZE and A LOT TO UNDERSTAND. Overall, good class. Ragsdale is a great prof!

OMG THIS PROF IS AMAZING. Honestly, he's responsible for my interest in the life sciences AT ALL (and I'm majoring in astronomy lol). Super amazing lectures, his explanations and notes are SO GOOD. Exam questions are DIRECTLY related to the lectures (no trying to trick y'all). Excellent excellent professor. Couldn't recommend him enough.

Easily my favourite prof at McGill! He recognizes that ANAT courses are so content heavy that you never really retain much from them, so he tries to drill in a few key concepts that I still remember 2 years later. Clear explanations, repeats important concepts, tests fairly and is so engaging you want to go to class just to listen to him!

He drones on a bit, but, overall an excellent professor because he's not trying to make you MEMORIZE terms and functions, but because he repeats things from the beginning of the course throughout the course, the concepts, ideas, and mechanisms come to you almost intuitively, making the exams doable. Just review and you'll be gold for the exam.

Best class I've taken at McGill so far. There was a lot to remember, but his exams were fair (A- class average as final grade) and he really made lectures interesting by telling stories to help us remember the material. Would take ANAT 321 again in a heartbeat.

Amazing professor! He makes it clear on what's gonna be tested and still inspires us with stories and examples. Lectures are clear and all pictures or experiments are well explained so don't need to worry about memorizing. He tries his best to make fair and challenging questions.

GREAT PROF. Super clear, engaging lectures. Doesn't make you memorize unnecessary details. Uses great examples to make the content relatable and repeats himself a lot to make concepts stick. He's doesn't overload content, and even cancelled a few classes because we were ahead. A VERY FAIR tester. ALL MC, no tricky questions, 1 right answer. AMAZING

I've had a lot of amazing professors at McGill, but Professor Ragsdale is exceptional. The way he teaches makes neuroanatomy intuitive and leaves no room for confusion. He explains concepts incredibly well, his exam questions are fun, and he puts effort into making clean, understandable slides. Highly recommend!

I don't have anything negative to say about Prof Ragsdale. He is extremely caring towards his students and is very aware of the struggles of being a stressed out uni student. His material is engaging, and his exams are straightforward. He records his lectures, but he'll make you want to attend class!

He is AMAZING. I'm taking this class online due to COVID, and he's the absolute best. He cares so much about his students and he makes the material, which I find interesting to begin with, even more fun and easy to understand. He's super good at explaining and often repeats concepts. He's a wonderful lecturer and a wonderful human being.

Excellent lecturer, we can feel he loves what he's doing. If you've read your notes it shouldn't be a problem to pass your exam. The best teacher I've had at McGill so far!!!

Literally best prof ever in McGill. Cares about his students, very approachable, always listening to feedback and trying to improve his course. Flexible with his teaching. Not to mention a stellar lecturer! I took phgy209 and anat321 with him and love him so much!! He also uses animals to explain neuroanatomy concepts, what more can you ask for??

One of the best profs ever!! He's very passionate about the subject and you can see it from the way he teaches and explains concepts. I loved his lectures as they were very clear and to the point, and his test questions focus more on understanding rather than memorizing. A very inspirational prof that made me love this course.

One of the best, passionate, most caring profs I've had at McGill. He made this online semester a real pleasure. Studying for the course didn't feel like a chore and was actually super fun. Take good notes, make sure you understand the concepts, and you're golden. If I could take his class again, I wouldn't even hesitate to do so !

He is such a great prof! He is so engaging and makes the content fun. He also explains everything super well, going over concepts to make sure everyone understands. You can really tell he is passionate about teaching. He also reads the live lecture chat to directly answer any questions. 10/10

Best professor I've had at McGill. He's super passionate about his classes so he cares more about the quality of what he's teaching rather than if he is fully getting through the content. Super thorough with questions. He also responds to emails super quickly. If you can take one of his classes I would definitely try.

Can't emphasize this enough: He made the learning so enjoyable. He breaks everything down so it is understandable and lectures in an engaging way that makes you want to continue learning. One of the best profs I've had.

Ragsdale is an absolute gem of a person. He teaches very well and explains his concepts in such a way that they is enjoyable (with many, many analogies) and doesn't use "fancy and complicate" language when he explains his stuff like some other professors. He cares a lot about our learning and without a second thought, i would take his class again.

Best prof at McGill! He makes sure everyone understands the materials in a simple manner and his questions are really fair. Anat 321 has many details but everything flows and connects very well. I never found any course that easy to review during the final even if it's cumulative, not to mention practise questions provided. He is sooooo nice!

I took this class as an elective (I'm not a science student) but I'm so glad I did! He's genuinely so nice, his lectures are very clear and engaging and he's great at teaching difficult material in a way that makes it easy to understand. Truly one of my favorite professors ever, I wish I was in sciences so I could take more of his classes!

Dr. Ragsdale easily makes the top of my list for fav McGill profs. The man is passionate, interesting, and clearly cares about teaching. He presents the course content in a way that anyone can understand - science background or not. Exams are not hard. He doesn't rush through content, very chill. I was sad when the course was over; I wanted more.

He is amazing! He truly cares for his students. He conducted about 3 review sessions for the midterm to ensure that his students understand the material. He prepares problem sets that will help you understand the material, and their difficulty level reflects the test. If you understand the material, you are golden. He is a legend.

I love this man so much. He is the best professor I've had in all my years at McGill. He takes him time with lectures and simplifies the material to a level that makes it seems like common sense... but its neuroscience.

This Prof is amazing, understands that we are here to learn and teaches that way, doesn't rush the content and only tests content that he goes through. Makes sure we understand everything and very clear. Amazing professor and just an amazing person.

This man is my safe prof at McGill. Teaches concepts that in previous courses were challenging (I'm looking at you, NSCI 201), but makes them digestible and comprehensible. Doesn't rush, is extremely thorough, and is really receptive to student questions. He just wants you to learn! Go to class and you will be just fine.

Ragsdale is beloved by anyone who studies the brain. His lectures are clear, and he manages to make concepts taught in other classes so accessible for students. He is thorough, his lectures move at a comfortable pace, and his exams are exactly what he says they will be. He is my safe professor, and he will make sure you enjoy his course.

Amazing teacher, could make anything interesting, even Na+/K+ pump. Make sure you understand the concepts and memorize details and you should be fine. No tricky questions with him.

Best lecturer I've had in 2 years at McGill without a doubt. Lectures are always engaging, and he always finds a way to make very dry anatomy topics interesting. Tests are not free (you still have to study) but they are by no means hard and make for an easy A if you are willing to put in the work to learn what he has to say.

He was the best professor I had in my first semester. His explanations and slides were beyond clear. He wanted the content to came off as common sense and he achieved that. His questions are very applied and not just based on memorization, so make sure to understand his parts.

Professor Ragsdale makes even the driest anatomy topics engaging. Lectures are clear and thorough, with fair exams. Attending class and using tools like unstuckstudy make for an easy A if you're willing to put in the work.

Ragsdale is the most energetic and caring teacher I had in U1, straight to the point with many explanations and examples to make the picture very clear. His test questions sometimes delved into beautiful metaphors. His lecture notes are pretty much complete but I strongly encourage you to go to class; Ragsdale will mae you love physiology.

Great guy, doesn't expect too much from students, tests are fair. I enjoyed the readings (all of them are written by him and they aren't boring like most classes). Cares about students and teaches very clearly. Tests are very fair and all multiple choice.
