Uniquely grand one of a kind guy--recommend your taking his courses-splendid
If you are trying to truly learn chemistry to earn your way into medi/dental school or graduate school or even join the work force with good money, then this fellow's courses are what you wish to sit in. If you are looking for easy way out, then forget it
Awesome teacher... really knows his stuff. Very helpful, but sometimes a little hard to understand. If you dont understand, just ask him. Great teacher.
Dr. Rahni is a great guy. He's a very intelligent man who tends to teach a little over some heads sometimes, but he's very willing to answer any questions. I would recommend him for any chemistry class.
friendly guy, i dont learn anything in his class though. He does scale grades. i learn more reading and teaching myself at home. He is the best at Pace :( for chem 111 & 112 in Pleasantville.
Rahni is a great professor! He's so enthusiastic and has such energy for this subject. The man's a genius!
Bit too self centered.

Great learning experience and a fun class.
Dr Rhani is a very special teacher, one whom I will never forget, and will do my best to stay in touch with. He is a very knowledgable and enganging professor and I am lucky to have learned from him.
Professor Rahni has quite a unique personality and teaching style. He is, without a doubt, one of the 5 smartest people on earth. I loved his class, partly because it was so obvious that he loves what he does.
Paper, presentation and a test for a two credit class is ridiculous. He's a hard grader and the test is the most random assortment of questions ever. It was impossible to study for and very unfair.
Dr. Rahni's understanding of chemistry is amazing. He is really helpful and is a fair grader. I suggest this class to anyone!
Dr. Rahni is an excellent professor. He used his intelligence and wit, along with examples from industry to help the students learn the material. He is very knowledgeable in all areas of academia and was very helpful in my quest for medical school.
Dr. Rahni is as fun as possible for chemistry and makes every attempt to involve all students and draw them into the discussion. Lots of knowledge on other fields that he uses to keep your interest. Good chem course. Make sure to do homeworks.
Funny, goes off on tangents, willing to let students joke and slack off to a certain extent. Tends to prattle on and put formulas up on the board. Who cares though since his tests are predictable multiple choice. He requires attendance at lectures.
I was was not a fan of any sciences until I took Dr. Rahni's class. He is very energetic, and knowledgable. By the end of the session, his passion for the world was instilled in me. Take his class and learn as much as you can from him.
He is the man!!!!
The best proffesor i have ever had in my entire life at any level of education. Knows everything about anything and has a great sense of humor. RAHNI IS GOD!
Professor Rahni is my favorite law professor thusfar. I would highly recommend him to any student pursuing a career in environmental law, or who are interested in learning more about environmental science. The course was both informative and entertaining.
Hard teacher but nice man
What a demanding course, but with Rahni's superb and broad knowledge and his patience and respect for students, this course truly tied together my four years of science education. Take Rahni for any course....it's open your eyes to the realities
just read wat others have already stated....THE MAN
Dr. Rahni is awesome. He is very knowledgable, helpful and friendly. He really shows his love for the subject of Chemistry and devotes his energy and efforts to helping his students understand and process in the material.
Hes very hard to understand. In order to know anything you have to read the book. Tests aren't bad.
He convinced me there's hope in becoming a biochem major so log as there are dedicated professorsl liek him aorund...Humble yet extremely knowledgeable....down to earth...take him
this guy is awesome, definitely worth trying to get into his class... good professor, he jokes around a bit, and he seems to be an all around good guy..
Really cares about the student and understancs different abilities
Too darn good to be true, yet he ideed is... he notonly does know his chemistry at all levles, but more important is that he remains a human with a touch that reaches out to each student... the material is very challenging, his exams are rather diffciult, but he is always avaialble and fair at all t
Chemistry is hard, but he really makes it fun and does all he can to help everyone out. If you are committed and try hard you will not fail. Definetly Take Him. You won't regret it...
awsome professor made a hard course ever so much easier.
VEry knowlegable in the area. interesting lectures. cool
What a nice teacher! however his class is hard his test consist of few questions ex: 2nd test was 4 prob. all his tests come from the Additional problems in back of the chapters his style is theroy and few problems in lec. it does not prepare you for the exams u must study weeks before to pass. he weeds the dumb kids out. I hear he curves?
great guy....hard tests......once again GREAT GUY but hard tests......
Really funny and nice. Way too smart though. What's really simple to him isn't always so easy for the class to understand. The tests are really hard. You either get it or you don't. He tries to give you any points he can though even if your answers are wrong. He really DOES want everyone to do well. Will always help if you ask.
Brilliant. Good sense of humor. Deserves a Nobel Prize and a deal with Comedy Central. His tests are hard but very fair if you study hard. Science is not an easy major, it's not for everyone. If your taking chemistry, take Rahni. "It's not a bad day if you got Rahni's class that day." -He really does lighten up the day. TAKE HIM.
The most helpful and the smartest fellow around here..teaches with enough real life exapmles of his very own, rather reading the book to us..connects with everyone treating you as a full person, and put your mind at ease..take him, an experience for life
Great chem professor. Tries to give all students a chance with grading. You must do homework problems to do good on tests. He really cares about his students. good sense of humor.
Great guy, if you work he will take care of you....but he is a gift from God!!!!
Great Guy......best ever........very down to earth and although his test are a bit hard...he WILL take care of U....You leave a CHamp
Doesn't teach very well. The only information I learned from his class I taught myself. You would never be able to pay attention in class and do ok because he does not explain well.
Great guy, funny, very friendly. Brilliant mind. However, he's so smart and knows his stuff so well that he's not quite able to bring the lectures down to the level of the average struggling student. Tests are brutal, but taken from homework questions. He curves like crazy and won't fail a student as long as they do the work and are trying.
he loves his overhead slides.... however they didn't help me much... when i went to his office he was willing to help but he was unwilling to explain on a simple level..."its like this you know" huh no i don't thats why im here! Dr weiser will help you more! He can't be bothered... he puts his credentials on the sylbus...Big ego!
i agree with the first comment however he told us a story about one of his professors that taught from a small note book that he hid from the prof. however why do the same to your students with the transparentsies..Why
For get about his depth of scientific knowledge. He is the most well rounded professor whom I have ever met. He is not only versed about almost all subjects, but that he also can refer to his prior writings on a topic of discussion. Down to earth, however.
Just like below forget his in depth knowlege he is at pace to teach not to weed out the the ones that cant teach them selves. if this is the case then i would have taken an online class i want examples to be taught not showen. that is what i pay him for and he curves like crazy but that not why you should like him or pass that way... we should lear
Ok so his test are really hard...I never really took notes and I missed class like 4 times and I did ok. He's fun but the class itself really isn't (come on it's Chem). I would take his class again if I could!
great fellow all around...
The class requires 40 hrs/week in the summer, our class average is a 60, and he's telling us that it's our fault even though his tests are ridiculous. You can only appeal your grade to Weiser, the head of the chem dept, who is the only person harder then he is... Stay away from Chem at Pace at all costs!!!
I disagree with the last comment, Professor Rahni seems to be trying to get us through a difficult course and is adapting to our needs to do so. Also, Professor Weiser taught our class one session and she was very helpful.
I'm in the class right now, and he seems like a nice guy, but what he considers to be an easy test puts the class average around a 70, and if he gives us a regular/tough test for the final and doesn't curve it to the average of the last 2, most of us are going to have to pay another 3 grand and repeat the class before we take chem 2.
The class average may have been a 70 w/o the curve on the last test, but with the curve the class average is likely to be closer to an 80.
Come on....fellas.. especially the visitors....it's a science course..what did you expect? to be handed over to you in golden plate?! This man the teacher is doing his best...let us face it not us all are blessed with IQ over 125...let us do our very best....and see what happens...
It may be scary during the semester, but if you put in the effort he rewards you in the end.
Nice guy and even funny. He will work with students in terms of grading. Exams are hard, but he curves. Expect to do most of the learning yourself. He is messy when it comes to teaching, blackboard use is limited and does not cover topics in depth.
pretty much if u get below the class avg. u get a C. if u get around the class average you get a B and if you get above the class average he"ll give you an A. Hes a great guy, but that class gave me headaches! ended up dropping calc II cuz i wasnt prepared for it. Hes a genius just not the best teacher.
Rahni is the man! Hilarious in lecture, but very doubtful you'll understand anything. Go to his office hours and he'll explain everything and feel a lot better about it. Buy the Student Solutions Manual too! That book saved my life in this class!!
Professor Rahni is a great professor, he is extremely intelligent and will make sure you are on the right path. He is extremely considerate and funny. His tests are no surprise, you have to make sure you do your homework to understand the material. Take him HE IS GREATTT!!!!!!
Very nice. Wonderful person. Hard to understand. Explanations are weak and not designed for the beginner. Had to teach myself the course.
Rahni is an amazing person and so funny. BUT when it comes to teaching he's not the right man for the job. He is a genius and can't simplify things.I taught myself everything by reading every single chapter and did absurd amount of problems to study. His tests are absolutely impossible. Good thing is he curves.
Dr. Rahni is a great person. He always tries to talk to every student in the class one-on-one. BUT when it comes to teaching, he is absolutly useless. I have not learned a single thing! BE PREPARED TO TEACH YOURSELF! TRUST ME!!!! If you dont have the student solution manual... GET IT!!!! the most useful thing ever.
Hard to understand, is a little bit too intense, wants to be everyones friend. Needs to relax more and loose the EGO. 3rd worst professor at Pace.
failed every test but got a B overall... didnt even go to any discussion groups.
For those of you who are complaining, it's probably b/c you didn't do the work nor did you make an effort. Do not take this class with a preconceived notion that you wouldn't have to do any work/effort as in the case with most other Pace classes that give away A's. It's hard work but you actually learn a thing or two! only serious students take him
Not an easy course. an intellectually stimulating and quantitative approach to teaching hard core science. Rahni, a bit eccentric, is a 100 professors in ONE. take his class if you are true to owning your education and committed to complete all the work and his demands.
Hard core science class with a brilliant instructor. The workload is almost impossible to keep up with. If you do the work and give it your best you will be treated more than fairly. His sense of humor and unending whit help soften the material. One of my favorite instructors!
Loved the Prof. He is very caring, nice and wants you to pass. He makes every effort to give you that opportunity. Very funny too. His "Persian carpet Baazar" tactics truly are a sight to be seen and heard.
Rahni is a pleasure to have as a teacher. He tries to make class enjoyable and always makes jokes. He tries to get to know each individual student and really does help everyone out in the end. As long as you try your hardest and show that you are making an effort, you will be pleasantly surprised with your grade in the end.
Always easy going and laid back, give extensions on HW and Quizzes. Really good person and very easy to approach. I had lot of fun in his class.
I had taken this course twice already with two other professors and got two F's. Rahni, however, turned me around to change my perception of chemistry and see its relevance to life. He remained on top of my work and all others' 24-7. High number of HW & quizzes, but was pleasantly surprised to have finally put this course behind me...
Professor Rahni alway seems to be smiling, an attitude which is infectious. If you work hard, do all the HWS and online quizzes, you will be fine. The key thing with this class is to practice, practice, practice. Rahni is always willing to help in terms of extensions and changing test dates. Stay positive.
Professor Rahni is wonderful. Always willing to encourage and is very flexible with due dates. If you are under pressure, tell him your concern and he'll be happy to help. Chemistry is hard class, so you need to stay positive, keep focused, and do all the practice you can!
Professor Rahni is a great instructor. He ran a fair classroom. I always knew what was expected of me, and Rahni was reasonable with the workload, even in an intensive course like chem II.
Literally the greatest teacher I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. He has such a warm heart, and is so easy to talk to. Don't think its an easy course though, because its not. I got A's on every single lab but he ended up giving me a B as my final grade because sometimes I wouldn't participate much with the lab. TAKE HIM!!!
Amazing professor! I took this class after taking general chem I and was nervous on this class material. He is always willing to help even after hours. He's very detailed and makes sure you understand everything about chem 112A before you finish the class. He is also flexible with due dates.
Dr. Rahni really is a great teacher and person. He helps every student even if they do not keep up with the work and put little effort in. He enjoys seeing every student do well and thrive in his classes. Although the online work is very tedious, if you put the effort in to at least try it he will appreciate that and will greatly help your grade
Nice man, lets us leave class early. Sapling isn't too bad. Do your work and turn everything in and you'll be fine.
He was awesome very helpful and understood lab was intended to help lecture
Dr. Rahni is a genius. Yes, the course is difficult but if you go to class, office hours, and stay on top of your work, you can do well. He helps you if you demonstrate that you care, and if it's clear to him that you're just begging for grades, he won't help. This professor is one of few that truly deserves to be respected for his accomplishments.
There's a midterm and a final but do the online homeworks and quizzes you should be fine.
Dr. Rahni is a very intelligent professor. He has a broad area of knowledge of the field and gives interesting lectures. Although the tests are difficult, they are online and if you study the HW and quizes you will find you will have what you need to receive a good grade in the course. Dr. Rahni has office hours as well if you find you need help.
This was a research class and Dr. Rahni was one of my mentors throughout the course. He constantly provided beneficial feedback to my final paper and worked with me if I needed any assistance or had any problems. Dr. Rahni is great teacher to take as he cares about his students highly, as well as their educational excellence. Highly recommend.
Hard class, but great professor. He won't fail you If you work hard! Very caring
A visiting student from an ivy league, satisfying my chem req for my major, I was pleased with this professor's lectures w a B; frankly his caliber is hard to find in many schools. Not ever my favorite, chemistry has now become my favorite subject to keep up with... am taken aback though why some students were expected to be spoon-fed so much?
Due to the condensed summer course the class was difficult. But Dr. Rah I was very understanding if there were any issues we had.
I took a general chemistry class and the pace of the course was the fastest I've ever taken. The amount of homework assigned kept me up most nights, and the exams were nearly impossible. I will say that professor Rahni did a good job keeping the lectures interesting, and gave a positive impression in the classroom that made the material bearable.
This man actually saved my chemistry grade. If you actually keep up with the work and try your best he WILL curve your grade. I feel like I probably should have got a C- and to my surprise B+ !!! If you can take him.
I had Dr. Rahni for both chem 111 and 112 and I got a B+ in both when I probably should have gotten at C. He really cares about his students and if he sees that you work hard he'll help you out. He is a great professor and a great person in general!!! Would recommend anyone to take his class!!!!
Dr. Rahni was one of the best professors I have ever met at Pace. Very great guy to be friends with. He made me evolve from "tin" to "gold" in a matter of one summer course. A lot of work is required for him, however the more time you spend on your homework, the better you will do on exams. If you show him you're trying, he'll definitely reward you
I had the privilege of taking a few classes with Dr. Rahni and I can honestly say he's a fantastic professor and just a delightful person. He absolutely knows his stuff and tries his best to inspire his students in not just chemistry but in aspects of the world. I can't recommend him enough.
I took Dr. Rahni's analytical chemistry class. For those who don't already know him, you probably know of him. He is probably the most kind-hearted professor you will ever have the privilege of meeting. He genuinely cares about each student and is friendly from the start. He's brilliant in his field and has the most interesting stories.
Dr. Rahni expects a lot from his students but is generally fair in terms of grading. Personally, I believe he is too lenient with some but overall holds everyone to the same standard. Just get your work done and you'll be fine.
The courses he's teaching contain interesting material that can supplement any form of science from biology, to chemistry, to physics. I highly recommend him as a professor because this material is not necessarily the easiest stuff in the world but he can convey it in a way that is both interesting and scholastically detailed. Overall amazing guy.
Dr. Rahni is incomparable to any other professor at Pace. Not only was he an excellent professor, but he genuinely cared for each and every one of his students. He connected with students on a personal level and was also very funny. The material for this course is not necessarily easy, but just show him you are working hard and he will reward you.
Very well organized. Show up to class on time and have read prefab before coming to class so you know what exactly you are going to do!. He is very funny and easy going as long as you do your homework you should do great!
I had Dr. Rahni for both Chem 111 and 112, he is an amazing teacher. He keeps class enjoyable with his jokes and random facts. He cares about his students and makes sure that everyone is on the same page with understanding the material. If you study the material, do the homework and practice, practice, practice you'll be fine.
Dr. Rahni is very knowledgeable and wants to inform his students. He loves joking around which makes the class more enjoyable. Make sure to do all of the homework and you will be fine. Just one midterm and final.
Dr. Rahni is a genius. He knows exactly how to make class fun while teaching. There is a lot of homework, so make sure you stay on top of it. He is a very genuine person. For some reason, I believe his favorite element is Sn. Overall, Dr. Rahni wants to see everyone succeed in his class and it is a pleasure having him as a professor at Pace.
This guy is the best thing that has ever happened to Pace. Very fair, positive, & interactive with all his students. He's a great professor, but an even better friend & I have yet to meet another professor at Pace as funny as this man. He's the only professor that can turn "tin" to "gold" to a shinier gold actually worth something! #BestProfessor
Dr. Rahni is one of the best professors in the science department at Pace. I have never met a more caring professor who honestly wants all of his students to succeed. You will learn a lot, not only the material but life lessons. Chemistry is not an easy subject but if you show you care and make an effort you will be rewarded. Take him if you can!
Dr. Rahni is one of the best profs at Pace, hands down. He cares about his students, is a genius, and really wants everyone to do well. Just do the work the right way, ON TIME, and you'll be rewarded. Would definitely take again.
Dr. Rahni is a great professor. He is a genius and always willing to help whether it pertains to Chemistry or anything really. He genuinely cares about his students and takes time getting to know them individually as well. Would definitely take his lab again!
Dr. Rahni is an awesome teacher and individual. He always has time to listen to the requests of his students and always trys to make their experience in all of his classes as enjoyable and informative as possible. He's great outside the classroom as well and helps in out of school ventures; he was able to get my music group a gig! A great guy.
I love professor Rahni. He is knowledge, enthusiastic, funny and understanding. He really wants students to understand and be excited about chemistry. This is the second course I have taken with him as the professor and I can honestly say he is one of the best teachers I have ever had. There is a lot of work but, well worth it to be his student.
Rahni is a great professor. Very caring and truthful, willing to work with you and help you along with grades. Gen chem is tough, and definitely time consuming, but Rahni is very understanding!
Dr. Rahni truly is a diamond in the rough when it comes to college professors. He's intelligent, often uses witty metaphors and stories to relate to chemistry, and has an engaging sense of humor. He wants to help his students do well and connect w/ them on a personal level. Put in the work and he will help w/ the rest. Two thumbs way up for the dr!
Dr. Rahni is the most intellectual and intelligent professors I have ever had and on top of that he is such a caring and well-rounded person. He is extremely knowledgeable about Chemistry and his class is a lot of work and difficult but he is very understanding when it comes to grading. He also has a great sense of humor which makes class fun!
Dr. Rahni is bar none the most intelligent, intellectual, witty and wise professors it has been my pleasure to know. Not only is his classroom instruction informative and formative, but his interest and caring for students apparent.
What a character. He can make some really dry material interesting and relatable. Chemistry has been my worst class since high school. He understands it may just be a small yet crucial stepping stone to your ultimate goal and does everything within his power to help you succeed. Responds to emails very quickly and recognizes hard work as well.
The only thing that exceeds Dr. Rahni's intellect is his charm and wit; every lecture, you end up learning new things and laughing hysterically. He truly cares about his students and has inspired many, myself included, to continue their studies in Chemistry. This class was really tough and computation heavy but taught me so much.
Dr Rahni is a wealth of knowledge, and extremely approachable. In order to succeed in this course be sure to read the assigned chapter before the lecture.
Dr Rahni provides the optimum balance of supervision and autonomy in the lab. Come to each lab prepared and success is guaranteed.
Dr Rahni provides the opportunity to succeed as long as you put the work in. You won't meet in class every week as this is a research heavy class, however be prepared to present your research at the end.
It is of the utmost impotance to Dr. Rahni that his students succeed inside and outside of academia. Thus, he tries to help in any way that he can to make sure that this success occurs. He expects hard work and dedication from each and every student.
One of the best chemistry professors there is. If you do the work and show up, you will pass the class. He grades very fair.
Dr. Rahni is a great professor. He is always willing to help and explains the labs very well. I definitely recommend taking his course.
He's a very straight out professor, who is very lenient with deadlines. He doesn't assign a lot of work, so the workload isn't overbearing.
Dr. Rahni is one of the best professors at this university. Extremely educated on every topic in the world, funny, caring, and well respected by everyone. His classes are fair, and he is very lenient when needed. You will not regret taking his class. Even with his harder classes, don't hesitate to choose him.
Dr. Rahni is such a great professor, he's a little hard to understand but nonetheless he is super caring and is willing to explain any questions that you may have. Make sure to go through the lab before you go to class. He doesn't go through your lab reports with a fine tooth comb and he's a very fair grader.
Dr. Rahni is such a good professor. I had him for lab. If you put in effort, you'll do well. He wants to know his students. He really cares about his students too. He starts off grading tough, but then he eases up on it. He drops the lowest grade. He answers his emails pretty promptly.
