I love how he explains everything in his website. Very easy, and if you do the work you always get full credit.

Found the class clear and the instructor very helpful when I asked for help. Most of the classes he teaches are online so be prepared to do a little extra work and READ HIS WEB SITE. I got an A in the class and learned a lot from his online class.

Great course. Dave was very helpful. Love the videos. Would take again! Study the test study guides and turn in all the lab work and you'll get an A.

Web site was VERY useful - and updated fairly quickly. If you contact Mr. Raney appropriately,(Personal Message), he responds quickly. Whole course is spelled out in the beginning, just follow along, but remember to do things on time! Easy A, would take any class from Mr. Raney

This class can either be easy or hard, depends on how you make it and your understand of computer applications. It is pretty much an independent class unless you get help from classmates. He is helpfult but not as prompt. Take this class if you are really good at using computers.

Dave is a cool guy. He makes the class easy but you have to be active and participate. This class requires a fair amount of work. You can correct mistakes to improve your grades and have 2 attempts at each test. He provides a question list to study. Take it online if you are a self motivated person. Great teacher, easy class if you do the work.

With this online class you will get out of it what you put into it. From reading the class forums it was obvious that SOME students don't even bother to read the class web site and expect to be spoon fed. If you are an adult and put in the effort you will get a lot out of this class. Dave is very flexible and this class worked for me.

Online class. Dave was very helpful in solving problems and explaining the material. There's lots of information on his website. He updates grades frequently and shows your class ranking. Dave was flexible on submitting assignments. A better way to take the class if you know a little about computers to start with.

This online class was great! He's flexible, just take some time to communicate with him. Would like a few less assignments but did learn some new things from them. Do the work and study for the tests you'll get an A or B :) Good choice for completing a required class. Highly recommended!

Great experience for a online class with option to come to the regular class on Wed pm for help. Allowed corrections to improve grade & second attempt on tests. Replied quickly to my questions, flexible when I needed an extension on a due date. No complaints but fewer assignments would be nice. Wish I had more classes like this.

Dave was great! He really cares. I had to work to get an A in the short term 8wk class but it was worth it. The class messaging made it easy to communicate with Dave w/o using email and he usually replied the same day. Study guides for tests helped. As a begniner I found the online orientation helpful in understanding how the class worked.

Dave rules! This class was super easy and chill. Dave is super helpful and responds immediately to any questions you have about anything. He is really nice and understanding. He accepts late work and the projects are not very difficult. Take this class for sure. Easy A with very little effort.

I hate online courses, but this was SO CLEAR. You have to do the assigments on time, but they are fairly easy and he lets you REDO them if you got something wrong! I learned a lot and he was SO HELPFUL. There is even a place were you can ask your class mates. Be ready to spend the time you would in class working at home, you must apply yourself.

Dave was a great instructor to work for. I took the online version of this class and he was very understanding and willing to work with me. I would suggest this class to anyone who either wants to go into the computer business, wants to improve their skills for their current job, or just to take a class that will transfer to a 4 yr school!!!

Professor Raney is such a helpful teacher! Use the 'private messanger' for any questions and he answers very promptly, sometimes even on the weekends! If you need this class for your major or just want to learn Microsoft Excel and Access, take David Raney!!!

he is soo helful if you don't know what to do use the 'private messanger' for any questions. As long as you let him know he will let you turn things late, but he has to see progress.

Excellent format, and excellent instructor. My first time using MS Office 2007. The online class is easy to navigate... the MyITLab site is faulty at times, but this professor works with you on that. The materials covered were great. Word through to Access, good stuff.

Prof Raney is awesome! He is the reason I stay in school! His class isn't easy but he helps you out by being cool about due dates. Just do all the study guides and ask questions!! He's very understanding and knowledgeable. Take his class!! You know your grade as you go along too! Oh make sure you go to class, it helps!

This teacher is amazing. He really worked with me with the fact that my textbooks didnt come in on time so it put me behind. I ended up finishing on time though. He also was usually always available for questions and answered asap.

Took his online section during the summer. I already know a lot about computers so this class was a breeze. No studying required for the test. He was extremely helpful if I had any questions about the hw. Take this guy anytime he teaches the class, you'll thank yourself.

Great class to take for a transfer credit at SDSU. The class cab be an easy A if you do the work. The work is fairly easy but a bit time consuming. He posts grades almost daily and is easy to contact.

Super useful class if intending on moving into the business world. The professor is excellent and is really willing to help you succeed. Although there is no face to face contact communication is a breeze considering his fast response.

Dave Raney's class is online. Any questions you have, he will get back to you quickly. You will learn a lot and can get an easy A as long as you keep up with the class work. The work is not hard, it is just time consuming. Plan on spending about 15 hours a week on assignments, projects, & tests. Definetly take the class!

Raney was a great professor who was very helpful and understanding. I took the class online and it was super easy. you got to take all tests twice and all the assignments were straightforward and totally clear. I got an A without even reading the textbook

I took his online CIS class. He was great; it was the subject I didn't care for. It was do-able, but I stuggled at times and ended up with an A-. The homework is long and sometimes tedious, but the step by step system the text book has was satisfactory, tho not 100% fool proof. So, if you have to take this class, sure! choose Dave.

It just doesn't get much better on-line than Dave.I thought 99% of class was clear and well laid out.Most of the work was step by step through the books, he has even more helpful info and videos on-line including a grading rubric for each assignment!!And he doesn't use blackboard(sweet!).Fast to respond to e-mail/messages with help on problems,

He was the best teacher I ever had.He gives you time to make up HW.I got A+ in his class, this class is not easy, but with Dave will be easy,he help all alot, he is online almost all time. Highly recommended him as a teacher for this class, so if you want to take Cis 110 take it with David.

So his class website is very clear and i found it more helpful than blackboard ever is. Heavy textbook use in this online class only because you follow assignments in the book. if you ever have questions he is very helpful. he is also very understanding about real life problems.... and he gives you time to make things up. great teacher!!!

Great teacher! Very understanding and helpful. Labs are time consuming but easy to follow. Got a B only because I didn't finish all the assignments. My only regret is I never went to see him during his office hours. I haven't taken a college class in a very long time, and because of this class, and great experience, I'm ready for another one:)

Great Professor! This is by far the best online class i have ever had, mainly because he is very helpful and gets back to students very fast. I do recommend those who need to take cis 110 to take it with Dave, the class is very easy and the assignments are self explanatory. He also allows students to turn in assignments late whenever needed!

Took this class during the short-term session. Prof Raney is very helpful and replies extremely fast to all emails! Class is easy and he gives you many chances to fix your Microsoft projects. Tests can be retaken and discussion board participation is quite easy! Just commit the time (it can be tedious, but easy) and you will do fine!

Take him. He is the best CIS instructor. The class was easy but requires a lot of work (6-8 hours a week). If you need help contact Dave and he will respond back to you quickly.

Dave was one of the best instructors I ever had. I misunderstood some directions and he was flexible enough to let me catch up. This particular class was jam-packed into 8 weeks so it was a lot of late nights. Dave addressed all my questions and was a good communicator on the forum page. Would def take another w/him.

Raney is a great professor. The online class is pretty well laid out for the most part. If you have a question, you can message him and he will quickly respond back. He's really polite and doesn't make you feel like an idiot if you ask a silly question. I'm glad I took this class in the summer, very time consuming!

There is a different site used other than blackboard to get class information and assignments. It is very helpful and well organized. don't be alarmed. Prof. is very helpful and involved in the course which is very different from other online courses I've taken. Highly recommend this course and professor. Good Luck!

This class is easy, but it requires a lot of work and time management. All quizzes have study guides and you can resubmit the projects for a better grade. If you have good time management, you will do well.

Material is well covered. Use the provided study guides if you want to pass the tests. He adjusts the schedule appropriately to fit the time frame each assignment requires. Very organized and well communicated. Best online course I've taken so far.

I took Mr. Raney for CIS 110 online and I really enjoyed his class. I have taken many online classes before but this was my favorite. If I didn't understand a few things I would message him and he would always get back to me. The work is easy but it's just a lot of work. I learned a lot and loved this class.

I'm SO glad I took Mr. Raney for CIS 110. The class material was clearly presented, he was very helpful and quick to respond to questions (often within an hour or two), very fair about timeframes, and seemed to genuinely want you to succeed and learn the material well. This was the best online class I've taken so far hands down. I highly recommend!

His website is a little hard to use at first, but once you are through the first week you should know how to navigate through the website. Grading is clear and has 5 projects and a large one at the end. Grading is quick and tracked online. Responds to email well and has a few easy extra credit. You will work for your grade, so be prepared.

The class was amazing! There are multiple parts to the class. Attend the orientation for clarity in how the parts work together. Even though the class is online Mr. Raney was timely in answering student questions and giving great feedback on assignments. He truly wants his students to learn the material. Okay, this class is not as easy as it seems. There are a lot of assignments and you need to stay ahead in order to pass. The assignments are due every week and you need to be able to grasp the concepts or else you won't know how to do the projects(5). Over all this class was challenging the first couple weeks but you can end up getting an A.

Excellent professor, you'll finish off that class knowing in depth about access and excel and if you're a business major then put in the time because the material in this course will be used later on. Knowledge well received.

He makes the subject matter interesting and comprehensible by clear explanation and demonstrations. He is also easy to reach; he replies promptly . He marks assignments and projects on time, gives feedbacks, and motivates students to do better . He is the model professor to teach the subject.

I took this as a half semester class and did really well in it. Be prepared for homework. If you don't do it, you won't do well on your projects. He does give great feedback and lets you resubmit projects once corrected. I would take another class with this professor.

so this class is easy yet there is work to it. the only thing i would recommend to future students is get the assignments out of the way because they are THAT EASY. as for the program access, i learned so much from the zero knowledge i had prior to this class. decided changing my major anyways but easy class, nice professor

Great Professor! Gave chances to make up work that was already submit for a better grade, but they had deadlines. Pay attention to the deadline dates and feedback or you'll miss it entirely. Enjoyed his class. Learned a lot.

The class is fast paced and keeping your calendar organized is extremely important! I slipped up in the beginning and started with an F but with hard work and focus got it back up to an A. He is honest and straightforward. As long as you do the work and read directions very carefully you'll be fine. Easily accessible if you need help too. No DBs!

He responds ASAP! He offers 1 resubmit on projectstest. You shouldn't get anything lower than a B on projects with his useful feed-backs.

Professor Raney is an amazing teacher. This was my first time taking an online class and I was really skeptical but Professor Raney was always really helpful and helped out any time I had questions. There is alot of work but if you devote your time you will sure pass. I can honestly say I really enjoyed the class and learned lots.

Students be prepared, this is a class that needs attention otherwise you will get behind and its not fun. With this teacher you need to constantly be logging onto the website to see what needs to be done. Otherwise assignments and projects will creep up on you. The book is helpful and easy to understand. Just keep up and you will have the Grade!

VERY useful class. Professor gives plenty of opportunity to correct assignments and learn from your mistakes. Start the work early as there is plenty. Syllabus and schedule is very clear. Follow the timeline, don't procrastinate and you will do just fine! I have recommended this class to many people!

CIS 110 is not a hard class, but a very time-consuming one to be honest, and Professor Raney gave very clear instructions about this class since day one. He wanted you to success in this class, and was willing to make adjustments for you as long as you have a good reason and explain to him in advanced. I would recommend his class.

Stay on top of when your assignments are due. This professor does give updates but there is typically quite a bit of homework and assignments that are due. If you have a question, contact him and he replies to you with good timing and good feedback!

Great teacher as long as your willing to do the work. Its not necessarily easy, but as long as you listen to his feedback, and submit every thing on time, and take advantage of any resubmissions he allows, it is pretty straightforward, and you should do well.

A great teacher and always open to give you guidance without doing the work for you. I had a family emergency that delayed some tests and he was very understanding giving me time to complete them. As long as you make time for the reading and practice problems, you'll be fine! I also now can use excel and access for my budgeting, thank you Dave!

This course is a lot of work, but if you put in the effort you'll learn the material and can easily get an A. The professor is easy to reach and friendly. He also lets you resubmit exams once after giving you feedback on them, making them less stressful. The worst part of the class is the tests, which are hard and require you to study the textbook.

If you put the work into this class, it will be an easy A. However, if you slack off and get behind on your work, it will be hard to catch up. You have a very easily weekly test, and 4 exams (which he allows you to resubmit it after he provides feedback). The homework is also very easy.

I did not realize when I first signed up for this class that I was taking 12-week version of a normally 16-week class. This resulted in more homework than usual and tests more frequently than usual. That being said, Professor Raney was very helpful with his feedback and always responded to me quickly when I had questions.

As long as you do the simnet assignments and give yourself time in this class you will easily get the A. Raney is always available to message and has an organized way of teaching.

This class was pretty tough but that doesnt mean its impossible to do well. I received an A- at the end of the 12 week course. This class has an outlined schedule throughout the semester that is followed but we had the virus going around so changes were made. Do the assignments on time, read the material and youll do well. Exams are difficult.

READ: Professor Raney was amazing. Hes a very understanding professor. If you fail his class then that was completely on you. He gives chances, he responds back immediately, he works with you if youre having difficulties in class and may assist in finding an online solution. This class was quite difficult when trying to use a MAC, but I doable.

Took a condensed version of the class,definitely recommend him for 110 online. Replies quickly and very understanding about issues and questions. Fairly easy assignments, just slightly tedious to complete sometimes. Tests and quizzes are heavily based on textbook. Really caring and easy to pass if u actually try. Mr. Raney's very accomodating, I had a test that glitched out due to online issues and he allowed me to retake it, and when I had a blackout that stopped me from taking another test, he extended my deadine to take that one as well! He teaches well and his practice simulator modules are wonderful for helping you learn. Just study well and you'llpass

Such an amazing teacher I know nothing about Excel/Microsoft and I was top 5 in this class. He is helpful and will answer any&all questions if you message him. What helped me most is that almost every assignment has two attempts. On all labs he gives feedback and posts a review page. Also he uses his own website but its very east to navigate.

This professor really cares about his students. If you're struggling with his class don't be shy to reach out, he'll help. If you're behind on an assignment and need an extension, he'll listen. I don't think you'll come across a more caring, kind, and very respectful professor.

Professor Raney is a great teacher who cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He is also considerate of the circumstances that might happen and will allow extra time for the due dates of the assignments. I would for sure take another class with him if I need it in the future.

Professor Raney was clear with what was expected and responded to any and very question I had. He also offers some extra credit - watch the announcements- and he gives feedback for corrections and resubmissions. Overall great class!

Professor Raney is amazing!! Very good communications through email and messages. Does a really good job with feedback on assignments and allows extensions if you communicate with him properly. The online class is set up very clearly and instructions are adequate enough for anyone to be successful in his class. 10/10.

I enjoyed this course, he made the Excel projects easy to comprehend and to complete by taking you step by step. The online class website was well organized. He truly wants his students to succeed, so as long as you communicate and complete the work you should get an A.

The best professor I have ever had! He actually cares about your success and is really helpful when you need support. He is also pretty understanding about deadlines. He responds to emails very quickly and at the end of the course, he gave students an anonymous survey that will give you 20 extra credit points. Highly recommend!

Professor Raney is an excellent instructor who genuinely cares about student success. The class material is engaging, and he provides helpful resources like Unstuck AI to support learning. I'd happily take another course with him.

The professor is very active and communicative when you need help or have questions. In every lab he gives clear feedback on what you need to fix to be able to get a better grade. I went into this class knowing little to nothing of excel and gained lots of knowledge after just the first lab. It was one of the classes where it hurts when finished.

David has been an exceptional instructor in the Computer Information Systems course. Their teaching style is engaging and approachable, making complex topics easy to understand. They foster an interactive classroom environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and sharing ideas.

Taking this class online can be really intimidating at first because there are so many things you have to get/work out to do this class but just trust the process and message the professor and he will help you out. The work load can be very difficult at first but it gets easier in way that you get used to it.

The due dates on the syllabus weren't "set", prof. Raney would sometimes extend them. The study guides in the class website and interactive book in SIMnet were lifesavers. If you use them, you can easily get a B or higher in class. Keep an eye on announcements in class website, prof. would randomly offer extra credit just for replying to him.

Professor Raney is awesome! Manage your time cause assignments take time.

Gives extra credit and responds to messages fast. Gives extensions on assignments if you ask and he was very nice. You read a chapter, take a quiz and do homework on Simnet and Connect. I feel like I actually learned something in this class (how to use Excel) and it was a good experience.

I struggled navigating this class in the beginning and struggled to get assignments in, however Professor Raney was flexible and understanding of this and gave me opportunities to make up my work which I greatly appreciated. He's a great professor and will do his best to help you succeed as long as you reach out for help.

Professor Raney truly cares about his students and their success. I truly cannot say enough amazing things about him. If you have questions or need help, he replies quickly and is always happy to help. I highly recommend taking his class. He is such a great professor!

So was an entirely online class, the best part was that the hw assignments gave you infinite retrys to get 100% and the labs gave u 2 tries where each submission said your mistakes allowing you to learn without having to fear a low grade. The professor also responded very quickly to any issues, if you need cis110 then definitely take his class.
