He's awesome. Definately take him. He's funny, and he when he's not completely hilarious, its cute to watch him try to keep humor in the classroom. He makes stats somewhat understandable.
this guy is great...funny, make stats easy to understand. i would take him again.

He is an awesome teacher and he makes it super easy to understand and the assignments are all reasonable, plus the content makes sense!

Great Prof... Excellent at explaining math in a relatively easy way. Always available to help out!
I had SEVERAL Stats profs and by far and away he was the best. Funny, understanding, and always reasonable.
he is a great teacher, he tries to make class interesting and he has great stories that make people laugh. He is great at explaining things and he helps when you need it or want it.
If you dread stats, take Dr. Reineke. He gives partial credit, group quizes, and easy assignments. Plus, he is hilarious and explains things assuming that you really don't understand anything. Great professor!
who can make stats easy? no one, but he really made an effort to make you understand what was going on! he's so concerned with how we did! i HIGHLY recommend reineke to everyone for stats!!
He makes stats understandable. He always goes off on tangets and makes everyone laugh. Definitely take him if you need to take stats.
So, let's start out by saying I dreaded taking this class. But Reineke has made it WONDERFUL! He is hilarious, very easy going, and helpful guy. I'm sure one of the only reasons I will pass this class is because of his ways of teaching. He impresses me everyday! Take him for Stats most definitely
not the best teacher. he gets off the subject A LOT, and the concepts are hard to grasp with the way he explains things. there's some tough computer assignments
I had a tough time with this class. I worked at it but it wasn't clear at all. he's a nice guy but as far as teaching concepts, it was hard to understand him. his class is tough and his comp. assignments aren't fun. overall i didnt like his class at all!
A good guy, makes class interesting, is funny and is available most of the time for help, love helping
????
Has an obsession with power tools...
I have had troubles with statistics in the past, but Dr. Reineke makes statistics easy to understand and learn. Also, he makes random comments on things, which make class fun and exciting.
I hate Math & had never broken a C in a math class & I somehow got a B! He was very leniant over the summer with issues of missing a few days for vacations and such. Always ready to help and would go through any problem with you. Always patient and very laid back. Will help all of those math haters out there? But I did have to work hard!!
He is a good guy.. Very Funny.. but overall i really like the class.. I think that he is a great teacher.. explains things fairly well.. if you dont understand math by the time he is finishes teaching the lesson.. you must be very stupid!!
He is an awesome professor! I failed stats before and got an A in stats in his class. He is very clear and very willing to help. I recommend his stats class!
He has 5 tests all semester and collects a few homeworks in order to boost your grade. He is a great teacher and is always willing to explain any question you have. TAKE REINEKE!
I had him in the summer and he was an absolutely awesome professor. Very funny and always willing to help. He can be a picky grader, but take good notes and don't be afraid to ask questions and you'll do fine. I highly recommend him!
Sometimes tends to not know exactly what he is going over due to lack of preparation prior to class.
Very sincere about what he's teaching, but more of a stats teacher than calc. He often has trouble explaining what's happening, and often sticks to the books way of wording things.
He is a really good teacher. He is mostly stats but he is still good for calc. He's always willing to help in the most efficient way to each student. He tells dry math jokes, but i think its funny. He doesnt curve tests, but there are no suprises. He's straight forward. Take him!
He did a pretty good job @ going over examples and going through the sections. He was kind of confusing @ times but for the most part did a good job. Had 4 exams and a final - none were curved except the final. I took almost this exact same class in High School, which helped a lot
lets face it, stats is hard, but he really knows his stuff and is amazing at letting you come into his office and ask as many questions as you need. he doesnt do the best job during class, but do your homework! it really helps
Good guy, but he teaches differently than from the book. So when you do hmwk from the book, and the exams are from what he teaches... there's no way to practice. Confusing. Helpful, but if you don't understand stats to begin with, this isn't the class for you.
Pretty good guy but a tough class. I scraped by and got a B, but not without some work. Stats is a pretty difficult class, but Reineke is a good teacher and does make it interesting. I would reccomend him for MTH 145
Stats is hard, but he makes it barrable. He is funny and makes the time pass. Don't be afraid to ask questions! He also lets you put quite a bit on your formula sheet. If you want a relaxed atmosphere with a professor that cares take him!
take him for stats...hard class but he makes it a little bit easier
Wow. He is an amazing guy. Gets off the subject and doesn't always explain things clearly so you have to do your work and go over things. He wants to help and will take all the time you need to assist you. Stats sucks but Reineke likes what he does and makes class fun. Doesn't take attendance but if you want a decent grade you can't skip.
He is a stats professor but taught my applied calc. Was a nice guy and pretty smart but it seemed sometimes it would be easier to understand some of the stuff if he was a calc professor . I hated this class but he did make it bearable, he got off subject at times and told stories that were amusing enough to not complete dread attending class.
Very nice, laid back kind of guy. If you need help, whether it's during class or office hours, he's there for his students and does a great job at clarifying. Stats is hell, but with Reineke a good grade is attainable. The best Reineke quote ever,"Something's rotten in Denmark".
I absolutely hate math of all kinds, but Reineke made stats so much better! He is an extremely nice guy, explains things well, gives examples in class, and lets you have a formula sheet for the exams. I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND TAKING HIM!
he tries to make the class fun..to the extent that stats can be. he's a real funny and nice guy. he's down to earth and explains the material clearly.
This is a great professor! I came to UWL with the knowledge that stats was the most failed out of class here but he made it fun and somewhat easy. He makes it very clear to you and uses lots of examples! He uses the class time prior to the test date just to ask him questions about the material. Take stats with him for sure!
GREAT professor! I wasn't interested in the material itself, but Reineke makes the class more interesting. Extremely approachable, and willing to work with you. At my request, he put old copies of exams online so we could practice, and know what to expect!
I took stats with the idea that it was going to be my hardest class of the semester, but he made it ALOT easier than what people made it seem. He's an easy grader on the worksheets and it's almost impossible to fail when you can use a formula sheet on all the exams. He's funny and hot! I highly recommend him if you can!
I def. recommend Reineke. Rumor that stats is the most failed on campus totally not true. He's very helpful and explains things well. Do your homework cuz he collects it randomly and make sure to do/bring your formula sheet for the test and you'll do good. Final is cumulative and blows.
i hate stats but i like dr.reineke. he makes class as interesting as it can be considering the material. he is very understanding if you cant complete your homework and if you dont understand something he will explain it over and over in different ways. he is very willing to help and very approachable
the nicest guy i have ever met. he gets off subject in class but if you go into his office i think he would sit in there with you for hours just to make sure you understand it.. let's you have notecards for tests.. i would recommend him.
Stats is a difficult class to begin with. Take him and you will like it so much better. Easily my favorite professor so far at UWL. You get formula sheets for all tests and the final you get the front and back of a sheet of paper. 4 exams, group worksheets, and around 10 homeworks collected a semester. Not bad at all. Definitely Recommend.
I took stats last year, so this class was a refresher for me. I was horrible at it in high school, but he explained it in a way that I actually understood. You don't have to memorize equations, you get to have them on the test, not all professors do this. I would definitely recommend him.
He was a really good teacher and was really easy to go to for help. I would highly recommend him for MTH 145!
Overall, he's a nice guy. However, that doesn't make him a great professor. He doesn't portray concepts very clearly and moves pretty quickly. Yes, you can use a half sheet for formulas on your exam, but his exams are pretty hard. Definitely need to work hard to get even a "B"
This guy is awesome! Take him if at all possible. He explains things very clearly and is so willing to help. He really wants you to do well, and he grades fairly. Having the formula sheets is very helpful, but it still takes lots of studying. What do you expect though? It's a 4-credit course.
you get out of it what you put into it. if you do the homework problems, go to class, and make the formula sheets, you should do well. he really wants you to learn the material and tries to make some funny jokes along the way
It's stats, it's going to suck. But the least you can do is get someone like reineke who cares weather or not you pass and who makes the terribly boring subject bearable to listen too. take reineke fair grader, formula sheets help alot
I took Stats with him last semester and while it is hard, he teaches it well. He randomly collects homework, which makes you actually do it. Exams were hard, but formula sheets were helpful. Very willing to answer questions. Knows his stuff. Has a good sense of humor, which makes a potentially boring, dry class bearable. I recommend him.
I really enjoyed this professor. His way of teaching is through associative learning, although his analogies are odd they work and his sense of humor will most times keep you awake. I greatly enjoyed his class and he's generally the good teacher you should have for taking any course.
while sometimes his explanations get a bit long-winded, professor reineke is funny, upbeat, enthusiastic, and always willing to help. stats is a hard class in general, you HAVE to keep up, but professor reineke made it bearable. highly, highly recommended!!
Even though this class is usually required and boring to most people, Reineke made the class pretty easy by giving out handouts and some assignments to raise your grade. The exams weren't too hard as long as you studied and did the homework. He had a good sense of humor and wanted you to succeed! I think he made the clas as easy as it could be.
A great stats professor. He tries to keep you interested, very funny at times. He gives you handouts to help keep you organized and to help you learn the material quicker. Also, you get formula sheets on the tests which i didn't get with my last professor, very helpful. stats is a tough class, but he explains things if you ask.
What a great teacher! Crystal clear on everything he explains and relates it to real life. Goes slow so that everyone can understand. Lets you use formulas on tests, which other profs don't!
Dr. Reineke is excellent. To be a great instructor takes both teaching ability and a warm, open, and understanding personality, and he has all of these. We've learned difficult and sometimes repetitive material in a more interesting way than some teachers might present it, as personal stories and real-life examples are woven into the basic lecture.
He's a nice guy but he has a tendency to go on tangents which gets really annoying! and he doesn't always do the best job of explaining things which can be frustrating!
Keep up with the material at all costs. If you are unsure about something ask and if that doesn't help ask others.
Reineke's degree is for stats, NOT for calc! Wasn't organized as a calc teacher; gave examples but didn't effectively teach them. Didn't explain concepts in an understandableI way. I was in the math tutoring center almost every day. Is an extremely nice guy & tries to be helpful, I like his teaching methods for math, but take someone else for calc!
He was extremely nice. Teaching methods were very organized and easy to follow. If i ever had a question about anything he was very accommodating and made me feel comfortable asking.
Dr. Reineke is a very pleasant individual who presents a rather uninteresting topic in a more tolerable fashion. I feel as if he makes an attempt to connect to the class through a warm attitude and as much of an avoidance of textbook regurgitation as possible in a mathematics class. He is also great with email guidance to catch up if you miss class
Best math proff that I have had at UWL. Made stats easy to understand. Exams were somewhat difficult and there is a lot of out of class work to do but he's an easy grader. If you don't do well on exams there is plenty of homework and group work to boost your grade.
He is a great teacher and also so precious! I hate math but his class was one of my favorites ever and i have no idea why. It might be because he was so nice, you could tell that he loved his job and put a lot of time into his work. If at all possible, get him!
Terrible teacher! I took precalc in HS and did excellent but did awful with him. He only shows you how to do the easy problems in class and rarely explains how it relates to the harder ones. The problems on the tests are almost never like the homework problems.
I hate math but he is super interesting, sometimes he gets side tracked but overall he's great. At first it was not so good because stats isn't like any math I've ever had before. But not it makes sense and he explains things well.
He made stats interesting and easy to understand. I usually suck at math but I got high B's or AB's on all of his exams. He does not try to trick you with questions or wording.
Reineke is great! I do not like math, and I was dreading statistics. He made it fairly easy to understand. The class actually gets easier as the year goes on! He is very available to help with any questions, and it is also important to go to class so you don't get behind! He is a great teacher, and i would recommend him to anyone!
Any math class at 7:45 is awful, but Dr. Reineke made it a bit better. He had a dry, math teacher type of humor, but at times it made me laugh. I missed class for one of our group worksheets, but he still let me make it up for full credit. Also, there is book homework everyday that is randomly collected; Do it b/c it will help a lot on the exams!!
Highly recommend. I am horrible at math and was dreading this class, but Dr Reineke made it bearable
Great professor.
Great guy and knows what he's teaching and how to teach it.
Horrible teacher, assigns a ton of homework and webwork. Does not explain anything and rambles on and on leaving hardly any time for doing examples. I have asked him questions many times on group worksheets to make sure the answer is right and he then marks it wrong. Will NEVER take him again.
Calculus is hard, don't get me wrong, but David made this the hardest class I have ever taken in my life. His tests are nearly impossible because he is EXTREMELY vague on what he wants you to know. He throws in a couple problems (tests are about 7 problems) that you've never seen. It seems like it would be impossible to get an A. DO NOT TAKE.
Dr. Reineke is a really sweet guy but this class is tough! I have a background of calculus and I still struggled to do well. He is vague on what you need to know and his examples aren't specifically relevant to quizzes, tests, etc. I would not recommend taking him for applied calculus because he is a stats professor.
Great professor for stats. Group worksheets and software assignments make it clear what's going to be on the exam. He has clear notes and goes over everything VERY in-depth. Never asks unfair questions. Teaches it like a freshman level class so it's easy to succeed if you do the work. Never stressed about this class. Take him!
Math 245. You read before you get to class, one problem on the board, then he will answer questions. He is good at answering questions and teaching, but like some higher level math classes, you teach yourself from the book. He is a super nice guy and good teacher, but you teach yourself. If you take this class make sure to keep up and ask questions
Dr. Reineke is a phenomenal professor, and I highly suggest taking him. He makes it very clear what is going to be on the exams, and he is always super helpful and available if you dont understand something. He's a very forgiving grader on the exams, and if you go to class and do the homework, theres no way you shouldnt do well in this class.
In the beginning of the semester, Dr. Reineke said that he was only there to aid us in teaching ourselves, and he's stuck very true to that sentiment. He barely teaches the section, and what he does teach, he does so by flashing a piece of paper on the projector for a minute, barely enough time to write it down. I would not recommend him.
He is a super nice guy I highly suggest him. The tests are really straight forward, no surprises and you get lots of credit from group worksheets and homework.
I had never taken a stats class before this one, and after it I never want to take another stats class again. I constantly felt overwhelmed my the material and never really knew what was happening. He doesn't teach. You have to read the book to know what's happening, and we had 7 tests (+final) so I was constantly trying to study. NEVER take this.
Dr. Reineke is a good statistics professor. MTH245 is a naturally challenging class, but all of the material is fair. The course has 6 cumulative "assessments" which is just a fancy word for cumulative test and an addition cumulative final exam. The course, or Dr. Reineke's style of teaching is "flipped learning" so he allows you to do hw in class.
Dr. Reineke was a great professor! He gives homework after every class, but it seriously took me a half hour each night. He randomly collected it throughout the semester and you had two days for each assignment. The homework wasn't worth much, but if you do the homework the tests are a breeze. Group worksheets in class were almost identical to test
Dr. Reineke is an overall great professor, but he randomly collects the homework throughout the semester. Homework is out of 10 points, but it will make or break you at the end. Be sure to have a general understanding of the topics and calculator functions so you do well on the exams. Lecture material is online, but go to class for the handouts.
Dr. Reineke's your classic dad-joke-cracking, 90s-sweater-wearing, random-fact-loving stats prof. Rarely collects hw, tests are very similar to group worksheets, he's readily available before/after class for help, and spends the first part of class going over any questions on last night's homework. As someone who's good at math, class was a breeze.
Super nice guy, and if you ask questions he will help, but he does not explain in lectures very well, and about ten daily homework problems with multiple parts to each. Very few notes for each class and the homework he works through in class are not very helpful. If you do take him ask questions and go in for help if struggling.
Dr. Reineke is honestly one of the best professors I've had. I've always struggled with math and he really worked with me to make sure I succeeded in the class. The group worksheets are very helpful.
Dr. Reinke is easily one of the best professors I've had for any type of math class. He really works with his students and you can tell he wants you to succeed. I am horrible at stats and took him after having a different professor who's class I dropped.
Lectures are entertaining and he is very good at providing the information needed for homework and tests. He does in class group worksheets that are super beneficial as well.
Didnt put any effort into the class, mine was online though. All we got was notes not in lecture form and rarely got any examples.
I would not recommend taking this online. It did not work for me personally just reading the textbook. If you need to take this class he is a great professor who cares about his students, but if you can, don't do it online.
Not a good class to take online. He provided no lectures and only put up one or two examples per module. He expects you to learn things on your own. I would not recommend this course if you're taking it on the internet.
Took the course fully online with the textbook being my main guide. Dr. Reineke provided us with some examples and minimal lecture videos, but he offers weekly office hours and is always available by email for questions. I wouldn't recommend taking the course online if you aren't decent at math or struggle to learn from a textbook.
This online class is a lot of work, but if you do all of the suggested exercises you can teach yourself pretty easily. He also is very helpful, so use his office hours!!! He answers emails very quickly also and is very understanding! Great prof, just a bit difficult if not used to having to learn the material on your own asynchronously.
Sooo math is not my strong suit and and I tried to keep my grade up, I was at a B near the end of the semester and he emailed me that I forgot to take an exam. He is really genuine and probably the best stats professor, so ive heard.
Very funny and cool guy. Would definitely recommend to a friend.
Lectures are kind of boring because he just reads off a typed paper so it can be challenging to learn. He is really nice though and does want you to succeed. Encourages you talk to or email him and is vert helpful and nice. I would recommend.
The exams were fairly easy, similar to group worksheets and in class notes. Learned a lot from him!
His online stats test is self-guided, so it can be difficult if you're not good at learning things and keeping up on things on your own. You have a week to do webwork, usually 1 or 2 assignments, and a tiny quiz. All tests are open note. Great guy, and homework really pads out your grade! Provides some notes, not really recorded lectures though
He was a great guy and professor, exams were just tricky online, and kinda hard to learn by yourself but fits way better in your schedule, with it only taking a few hours out of your week to do at your own time, instead of the amount of hours for regular class.
Very nice professor and overall straightforward class. Each week you have a chapter of the book, webwork, small assignments, and easy quizzes. Exams are all open note and match content. There are no lectures, so most of the learning is through the textbook other than some short helpful videos he shares. Great option for stats credit!
Professor Reineke was super impressive. Really great professor and class wasn't that difficult. Mathematics isn't my favorite but this class I didn't mind. Overall pretty easy.
Dr. Reineke is awesome. I had him for online stats, but was generally very available for questions. He's responsive, even in online sections- but this class was very test-heavy. He gives you a week to finish three large assignments, but he's so understanding if you need extra time. Very nice man, would love to take an in person class with him.
Only talked to him over Zoom once for help on a software assignment. I could tell he really cared about his students and wanted to help me. There is a WeBWork, a software assignment, and a module quiz each week. Took me about 1.5 hours a week. There are 3 midterm exams and a final exam.
Professor Reineke's class is a great option for stats credit. The exams are open-note, and the homework and quizzes help pad the grade. Unstuck AI was a lifesaver for preparing alongside the textbook and in-class materials.
Dr. Reineke was a great professor, he put out good materials, prepared you for the exams and did a great job teaching the online class. He is easy to reach by email. If you put in the work you can get an A. I would highly recommend him.
