David is an amazing professor and also an Academic Advisor for the Criminal Justice department at SLCC. He has a strong understanding for advocacy within the CJ system and provides great feedback for coursework. Be sure to participate though, it definitely counts.
TAKE THIS CLASS. David is my favorite professor at slcc hands down. He is funny and caring. Dont be afraid to treat him like a friend. David is understanding and EXTREMELY helpful. Dont be afraid to ask for help. He lives for it. He makes you feel comfortable in discussing important topics. I would take his class 100 times over. Worth the work.
David Robles has a way of making the room feel included, excited and authentic. I really enjoyed his teaching style. It was fun, educational and supportive. During my APA paper I wanted to give up, questioning if I could do it. Gratefully, I was able to express my fears with David. With non-judgment and support he helped guide me. BEST PROFESSOR!!
I genuinely feel like this has been the most enjoyable class of my college career; we had a fantastic class that was always engaged and willing to discuss difficult topics, we had a professor that truly cared about us as individuals and the injustice in the world around us. Great professor, fantastic person.
Amazing and inspirational professor. I don't think it's possible to make it out of this class without becoming passionate about the topic.
I felt that David created a safe space for us to discuss, review, argue and speak freely about such a heavy subject. The space was definitely safe, but not to be confused with comfortable. I am very grateful to have had David Robles as a professor, the man is downright INSPIRATIONAL. He was deeply invested in my success and I could feel it.
Very patient and always open to questions. He provided textbook reading for us which was a plus. He provided feedback on written assignments and on discussion boards. Overall, a great teacher and would definitely take a class with him again!
This professor was really great! He was really fast at responding back to you and helping you with any questions you may have. You get an online book for free which is awesome! You read one chapter a week, take a quick easy quiz, respond to a discussion questions, and then you have one major paper to write. It's a pretty easy class.
Super great teacher! Made me feel like he really cared about my work as a student and always provided extensive feedback. He understands a lot about victimology which is the field I want to go into, so that was a plus. I would take him again in a heartbeat. Wish he taught more/other CJ classes.
100 % would recommend this class. Was always willing to help if needed and gave a reasonable amount of homework. Discussion were also always great and I learned a lot from them. Overall a great class, one of my favorites.
He was very passionate about the course he was teaching! He was able to throughly teach lessons with his own personal experiences in his careers. There is never a class that isnt interesting. Great enough, he also doesnt give a great deal of work but is pretty laid back about due dates as long as you get the work done
I took online course CJ 1010 with Professor David Robles. He is great professor. Homework of this class is really reasonable. The professor understanding of student life is great. He reply to messages faster than you think if you have any question regarding assignments or grades. The course is designed to talk about real life problems.
By far the best professor I've had so far. He really cares about this subject and makes sure everyone has what they need to learn and succeed. Very understanding and helpful, I recommend him to anyone!
Best professor ever! He really enjoys teaching and makes learning fun.
Dr. Robles is a fantastic professor. If you can take this professor, do so.
David is really a chill professor, he responds ASAP. My class was online, every week you would have a discussion and read a chapter to complete a quiz. Sometimes I didn't have time, he was more than willing to give time extensions. Theres only 1 essay at the end but you gradually work up towards it which is perfect. Doing the work well survival.
This class was one of my favorite classes. Professor Robles went above and beyond to make sure the entire class knew the material and challenged our ways of thinking in such a critical way. He didn't tell us how to think and view things, but gave us tools to do this ourselves. Amazing. Seriously take him.
Best teacher ever! Every class was very informative, reflective, and groundbreaking. I honestly learned so much from his class. How to write better, how the justice system works and doesn't work, and how to think more critically. If you can take this class in-person, DO IT! I can't imagine not experiencing the amazing discussions we had in person.
I really enjoyed taking this class. The discussions were fairly easy and most homework was due on Sunday. It was easy to follow and he provided the textbook. He gave a lot of awesome feedback and gave reminders of when everything was due I would take any class by him again!
Professor Robles is fantastic. I have never had a teacher put this much effort into helping me improve my writing and the way I view crime/justice. He really challenged me in so many good ways. I wish I would have taken his class during my first semester. I would have definitely been a better student. He really cares about you. Take this class!
Yes! He's that good. As a 60 year old non traditional student I took this class wanting to dig deeper into the social unrest that our country is experiencing. Professor Robles met all expectations and even went above and beyond. Honestly, I couldn't imagine learning as much as I did from him. Don't let his youthful age sway you away. He's brilliant
Professor Robles is an AWESOME instructor. He gives homework about every weekend but makes them due at the end of the week which is nice if you work. He is also easy to communicate with and gets back to you quickly with questions on the assignment. There is no textbook but he gives a link in the module of the information you will learn that week.
Professor Robles was amazing for Criminal Justice online. He is very understanding and cares for his students. There is like one discussion and quiz each week and the occasional assignment. Super easy class. One final essay but he gives you weeks to work on it and help you write it. Its a great class!
Professor Robles is an awesome teacher! He is very responsive. This class consists of weekly discussions and quizzes. I took his class during the summer, so there was a lot of work. One essay at the end of the semester but you are working on parts of it throughout the semester. Easy grader, mostly on your opinion.
I absolutely loved taking Prof. Robles class. He's passionate and knowledgeable, and happy to help explain things you aren't quite grasping or provide additional resources. You can tell he really cares about the subject and his students and wants to do what he can to help you flourish. I hope I get to take a class of his again!
He was awesome!!
Professor Robles is fantastic. He is quick to grade assignments and always left feedback when he graded. Even though it is an online class, he is very engaged and encouraging. He always has time for his students and will set up a zoom meeting if you need help. The tests are all open book and easy if you just follow the reading. Great class...
Professor Robles was an amazing instructor for the CJ1010 class! You take an open book test and do a discussion each week. You will also work on a research paper for your final grade throughout the semester. He gives great feedback on all assignments and is so nice and helpful! Definitely recommend!!
What more can I say. He is the best instructor that I have ever had. Period!
Such an amazing and respectful instructor. Never made you feel as though you were an out skirt of the class! Always made you feel welcomed and graded stuff really quickly. He responds to you within minutes of emailing him, and is there for a great amount of time before and after class to talk. I would recommend him to everyone that is taking CJ1010
I took this class online through Canvas and it was really enjoyable. Robles gives back lots of constructive feedback and quickly and willingly answers any inquiries you have. The workload in this class is very light and doable. I learned a lot about our criminal justice system. I believe that this course made me a better person.
I took CJ 1010 online in for the summer semester 2021. Professor Robles was great! He gives a lot of feedback on assignments so his expectations are clear and it's easy to meet them.
He's very helpful when it comes to writing your final paper. Plus he stays on topic. Very nice to talk to. Probably one of the best teachers I've had.
Professor Robles is one of those gems that you unexpectedly find when taking generals at SLCC. I had very little expectations coming in and was blown away by how amazing he is as a person and instructor. I would align myself as being very conservative minded and not once did I feel alienated or attacked like I have in other courses. Simply the best
Professor Robles is amazing. If this is your first semester in college or first time in concurrent enrollment I would recommend classes from him 100%. He works with people amazingly and doesn't just expect you to know what you are doing all the time. He works with you wholeheartedly. Only one 20 question quiz and a chapter of reading due each week.
Professor Robles was amazing in CJ 1010. He started off the class making sure everyone knew it was a safe space. He recommends being to every class but does not take attendance so it isn't mandatory. He takes the time to walk you through the final paper and does a peer review on the final paper so you can see how others are writing. Simply amazing.
Professor Robles is amazing! He cares about all of his students and their progress and grades in his class. He gives get lectures and sometimes has extra credit opportunities for his students. He provides excellent feedback on papers and responds to emails very quickly. 10/10 recommend you take his class!
Great all around. As a police officer, I think I learned so much from this instructor that helped me better my policing. Very good at communicating, helps you understand all concepts, and has the easiest to navigate Canvas pages.
Wouldn't have wanted to take criminology from anyone else. He was very patient with my style of learning. His presentation skills are good. Every class was interactive and engaging. He also went above and beyond when it came to feedback. I have never had a professor provide that much feedback on papers, and I am an English major. All around great.
I am taking Justice for All with Professor Robles and I have to say that he is the best professor I have had at the college. He is willing to go the extra mile for the class and provides good feedback on papers. I would take him again and again.
Prof. Robles always had a detailed response to the discussion assignments, and he genuinely cared about the topics. I took this class online during the summer but it probably would've been better to do in person. Assignments are mostly easy but I wish we relied a little less on the textbook though. (The textbook was free and online, too)
This instructor is very organized. His canvas page are easy to follow and he is good at updating us on everything. He has a lot of knowledge and appreciates questions. i met with him recently even though I am online and he was very helpful. I wish i took more classes from him since this is my last semester. I would recommend him to any student.
Professor Robles is one of the best criminal justice teachers I have had at SLCC he cares about you and your grades he is very flexible. He understands that life happens and stuff comes up and lets you turn in assignments late just email him in advance. This class personally was a favorite of mine 1000/10 would recommend
He is very insightful and his teaching style is energetic. He deeply cares about the subject. He also is flexible with assignments. Not all of them because of deadlines, but most. I plan on taking all my criminal justice course from Mr. Robles. He has challenged me and also inspired me.
This Professor is awesome. He cares a lot about you as a student and will make sure you succeed. I had to take one more elective class and i was super satisfied taking justice for all from him.
Dr. Robles was my favorite teacher at the college. His lectures are my absolute favorite since he is super engaged, funny, and knowledgable. His teaching style is what motivated me to change from a sociology degree to a criminal justice degree. He helped me make a connection at Victim Support Services where I now volunteer doing victim advocacy.
I loved this professor for criminal justice 10 and I am so happy I am getting him again for another class! He is super knowledgeable and very understanding. He makes the class so interesting to attend!
Mr. Robles is the best professor at the college. I never missed any classes because his classes were so fun and the class would learn so much. I have taken lots of classes at the college and his has been my favorite. He is always willing to help you. His class is not too hard and he is so smart.
Professor Robles was an amazing, highly recommend taking his class. There is a weekly quiz every Sunday but its open book with notes given through canvas, very easy. There is a 8pg paper at end however, lets you work on it throughout semester during class time and is easy on grading. Makes class intriguing with discussions and activities.
Hands down!! Mr. Robles is an amazing teacher, he is very knowledgeable and his class is absolutely fantastic. He is the fastest professor in responding emails. I was impressed, re responds in a minute after you send him a message. I totally recommend Mr. Robles, you won't regret.
Best professor I've ever had. There is a quiz every week, but it's open note. One final paper, and great lectures. I would take his class again. Easy A
Such a great professor with a keen to empowering you and making you grow. The entire class got to present at a research conference at the end of the semester. Professor Robles not only supports you through the development of your research, but helps you grow as a presenter. From the beginning of the class who treats you as capable. Take this class.
Really fun and educational class. The professor is really caring and taught very well.
The best professor I have had! He truly cares about his students and the system is a just and fair manner. He is so helpful, and the assignments really open your mind and challenge the way you think and see things. He responds to emails in a timely manner, and he is truly just a great human and I look forward to taking more of his classes!
Dr. Robles is the best professor I have ever had. He is very engaging and his lectures are amazing. He is very passionate about criminal justice. He cares a lot about his students and goes the extra mile to make sure everyone feels confident about the class. Even if criminal justice isn't your major, I HIGHLY recommend taking one of his classes!!
He's the greatest teacher ive ever seen he made everything easy. I actually don't know what to say exactly but you're gonna be winner if you take a class with him. THE GREATEST PROFESSOR EVER!!!
Professor Robles was the best. If you want to learn more about Criminal Justice, this is the right class for you. He's super knowledgeable and would give you the best feedback in things you need to improve on. He truly cares about his students and those who would take this class seriously. I had so much fun taking this class!
Take Victimology with him! His class helped me get a job as a victim advocate since he requires you to go through an official certification. The victim assistance trainings were my favorite. He also does so much to help you succeed. I loved how willing he was to meet with me
Great professor, even greater experience!
Really didn't know what to expect, but was pleased. His classes are a good balance of fun and engaging. I really liked the discussions and how he counted actively listening as a form of participation.
This class changed the course of my career. The professor had a lot to do with that. He is very caring. I liked how he met with us a couple times throughout the semester to help us with our final presentation. It was nice to interact with a professor in an online class. I have never had that before.
I give Professor Robles an A+ in teaching. He is so charismatic and kept me focused, even at 8 in the morning. He tends to connect a lot of his lectures with real world examples, which was helpful. I especially liked how he doesn't leave you "stranded" and goes above and beyond to help you. If you are debating on taking this class, take it!
He is the best. This class was all about understanding research and theory. His lectures were super interesting filled with lots of fun activities. I never felt bored in his class. We also had some cool field trips.
He's great! His Canvas is so ORGANIZED! I liked how the course was easy to follow, and he had optional Zoom sessions as an extra resource. The trainings were really cool. Even though I think this course would be better in-person, it was my favorite online course at SLCC.
I took this class as an elective for my psychology degree and it didn't disappoint. Mr. Robles' classes were really good. My favorite part of this class was the mock research activities. We went to a few places including the juvenile detention facility. There is a final presentation that he requires you to present at a conference which is fun.
He is literally so nice.
Great! This class is one of the only classes in college that I felt like taught me something I can use in my career. The homework is not too heavy and he is very helpful. Like he always held online meetings and met with me 1 on 1 multiple times. Can't say enough good things about this class.
Robles is one of those teachers that you will remember throughout your life. He makes you feel seen and heard. I was always surprised seeing so many of my classmates attend such an early course in the summer. He is a big reason for that. He also would stay after class and chat which was nice. My class loved him!
The best professor at SLCC! He's super passionate about teaching and helps students with other needs. I was going through some serious mental health challenges and Mr. Robles took the time to walk me over to the counseling office. It surprised me how much he cared and continued to work with me for the rest of the semester.
Very passionate about what he does and what he teaches. Great class dynamic. Had a very interesting guest speaker. The lack of assignments makes it easier to learn and become invested in the class. Made me debate switching a major for a while. If you're interested in this class, definitely take it.
Found myself really liking this class. He is knowledgable and currently works in the field in so many ways. It was nice to have someone who could talk about the theories we learned in class and compare to ways it happens in the real world. If you like learning about theory, this is a great course. he also makes his assignments easy to understand.
Professor Robles is an amazing teacher. His lectures are very entertaining and he has a very good responsibility. As long as you show up to class and submit assignments, you should do quite well.
Professor Robles is amazing! He made criminology so interesting and explains everything in a way that's super easy to understand. You don't need a textbook since many of the concepts you need to know are through his lectures
Took the criminal justice careers class with this professor. He is very good at responding to you. Met with him once to receive career advice and it was the best thing I could have asked for. He really cares about you. I liked how this class helped me better my interview and resume skills. You also get to learn a lot about different jobs in cj.
David is a cool professor and his criminology class of fall 2024 was even cooler. He made the class so fun. His lectures are really amazing. I never thought learning about theory would catch my interest, but I am constantly thinking about the theories we learned every time I see a cop or pull up to a stop light. Class was cool! Shout out to Marc!
He's a great professor. The textbook is free. weekly discussions, nothing too difficult. He makes the lectures very interesting. He also brought a wrongfully convicted person who really changed my perception of the CJ system.
My favorite professor so far at SLCC. Everyone loves this man for a reason. He is young but very experienced. Marks attendance for one day for discussions (that you don't actually have to participate in). Easy quizzes, one essay, one slideshow. I want to take more classes from him.
David was probably the best professor I have had at SLCC, he is so chill and creates a very positive learning environment. Lectures and discussions have never been so fun. 10/10 would take this course again with David!
dr is the coolest professor in town. He' is so down to earth and also very professional. I seriously love this guy. He's inspired me in so many ways.
About to graduate with an AS /Social Work & SUDC Counseling. Professor Robles is a fantastic professor, and I hope he can teach not only in public safety but also in the Social Work Department. If you are in a behavioral science track, you must take Professor Robles. His systems theory module is MIND-BLOWING. I learned a TON 10/10
Sends a good bit of homework, but not enough to overburden you, as it is not hard. Late work can be accepted, but you must give a reason. Creates an open and welcoming atmosphere without any bias. I recommend him to anyone interested in any criminal justice-style social science degree.
Professor robles is a real one. He doesn't play the ego trip professor character and is open to controversial conversations and debates. I really liked how much time he spent outside of class to help not just me but all of my classmates. I have nver had a professor do that before and it meant a lot. He also does a lot for the community. Take him!
Discussion and quiz every week. Discussion you need to be there in person for credit. Final paper that is worked on throughout the semester. He replies very quickly to canvas messages. For people who struggle to talk he doesn't pressure them to talk in class. Super funny and chill guy!
David Robles and this class were great! Super easy class and I learned alot about different jobs within the criminal justice industry.
He's great. This was my first honors class at SLCC so I didn't know what to expect. He grades fair. Quite a bit of homework, but it's manageable. Good portion of your grade is the final presentation at a conference.
Robles is a phenomenal professor who really values his work and the connection with his students. His feedback was incredibly personal and helpful, and he provided us with wonderful opportunities outside of class. He cares in a way I have never seen, and it does not go unnoticed. Adore this guy, will be taking more classes from him in the future.
David is the most caring, amazing, and down to earth professor that I have ever had. He genuinely wants to get to know his students and is very understanding and caring. His lectures were very interesting and he has a relevant background which he shares stories about. I thought this class was very manageable and easy if you keep up with it.
Professor Robles may be one of my favorite professors of ALL TIME, I took both Intro to Victimology CJ2410 and Careers in Criminal Justice CJ2540 with him online and at the same time. 15/10 AMAZING! Gives personalized feedback, answers messages quickly, and is just all around wonderful. You have everything you need to succeed right there!
He is such an amazing professor! I would recommend anyone to take his course. He is so caring and really wants you to succeed in his course and in life in general. He is awesome!
Best honors class! I liked that the class focused on different perspectives and Mr. Robles never approached it as biased. Required readings are articles and a book called Biased. Not too hard of a grader as long as you put in the work. Since his background is in criminal justice, the class is taught a little different but in a good way.
