He yells at the students and calls them stupid. Only about half of the class has stayed. I had Miss Arnold last semester and she is much better.
I think that he knows a lot about math, however he has no skills in teaching! He has no business in the classroom, and is very snappy and rude with the students. I would NEVER recommend this professor to anyone.
Many of the students I have talked to, that have Saha as their lab teacher, are failing. He knows nothing of how to teach and is impatient and rude.
Sucks!
This guy is really weird. noone in class knows what he is talking about and he is a horrible teacher. he doesnot like us to ask questions in class. he always uses a claculator and i dont have one. this is the worst class i have ever had.
NEVER TAKE THIS GUY!!! He never explains anything and seems to get mad if I ask a question. I am failing because all he ever says is to look in the book. This class is a waste of time. I think the whole class is flunking.
He's very good at math, but he's not very good at teaching methods. I suggest that if you have problems with math, then find another professor.
SUCKS!
Not a help at all, yells at all of us, does nothing but sit there, plays with a calculator all day, dozed off once and woke up muttering about Jerry being inside him. Also I think he kisses boys.
worst teacher ive had at fgcu. this guy is a math genious but does not know how to teach what he knows, expects kids to know and get material right away, and looks at u like a retard if u dont. worst teacher at fgcu ive had!

The man is very intelligent, but he cannot teach. He teaches at a very fast rate and makes it difficult for anyone who is not a whiz at math like myself. This is my 2nd time taking this class. I would recommend that anyone that isnt gifted at math take it with someone else.
He is amazingly smart, but is an engineer teaching a math class, so he expects you to understand things in a way you would never think to. Very hard to get into his head. As long as you go to class everyday and some of the SI sessions you can pass easily. Although, you do actually have to go to lecture too!!
He is very smart I'll give him that, however he is too smart to be teaching. He goes way to fast and skips steps there's no possible way to keep up. I've already learn the things he is supposed to be teaching so his class should be easy but he takes what I already learned and makes it 10xs harder. Unless your a math or engineer major I suggest not taking him because you wont be able to keep up.

He is a horrible teacher. He is smart but can't communicate that to the students. Plus, he is such a smart ass, I couldn't wait to get out of the class.
He's Brilliant... but he's unable to teach what he knows to students in a way that they can understand the material. The class, is not hard, but when you don't remember the material you want a teacher than can communicate what you need to know - and unfortunately, he is unable to do that!
This guy is not only weird but he is a horrible teacher. I dont know why he teachs here if he hates the students so much. If he is you lab instructer pick another class. Amy was much better last year, he is the worst
If you are good at teaching yourself, he is a good person to take because he is very faced past. He'll answer any of your questions and the quiz's are really easy. But if you struggle in math, he is not the instructor for you!

He is so boring. I quit going to class, except for quiz days, even then I went to sleep or read a book during his pointless chitter chatter and even worse lectures. Even Planas was more helpful with his dumb videos, homepage, and jokes ( plus his accent is horrible, Planas I mean).
I have no idea what this guy is doing teaching. He seems to be preocuppied with the calculator and I dont own one so this class is very confusing. I had Miss Arnold before and she made math easy to understand this guy Saha is from someother planet!
he is probably one of the most confusing teachers EVER!!!!
ummm i can honestly say i did not learn ONE THING. i am horrible at math and i was left trying to teach myself the entire book before finals. he is not understanding at all and often talks down to students. DO NOT TAKE unless you are very very very good at math and dont mind learning everything on your own...
As said before, you learn nothing in this class. I'm pretty sure it could pass for a history class because I now know everything you would ever want to know about the origin of a calculator and why napoleon helped with algebra. He tries, but he's so excited that he knows how to do the problem that he forgets about the rest of us.
what??? this dude should be in the nasa, not teaching, he knows way too much, saha for presidente damn it

He is horrible. Find someone else.
really smart but cannot turn it iver to the students. he should be working for Nasa or something. get ready to learn out of the text
extremely smart, but way hard to follow...will answer questions if needed about the homework, but i pretty much taught myself using mymathlab
Rants now and again, but when it comes to helping you understand material he's dedicated! And awkward fella at first but real understanding guy.
not very helpful! he is smart, but he goes on too much about material that is useless to the class. only went for attendence grade, but mostly learned everytime for mymathlab!
An akward guy who loves mathematics. He gets very excited when lecturing but he also strays off topic and into another subject. He can be kind of creepy and you have to use the book/ mymathlab because very few people can keep up with his straying explanations.

lab instructor for my college algebra class...he's an awkward man who should be working for NASA, not teaching college students. he tries to show you 'short cuts' which just make the material more confusing. get a different lab instructor!!
He is a good professor but he's a lunatic. He's helpful and wants his students to learn and pass the exams, but he's still a lunatic.
he is a genius. yet i think his geniusness is to much for him that us regular students are not on his level to understand what he is saying he should work for nasa. heis a nice guy though once you get past his random yelling and outburst.
He is extremely smart and a true mathematician but a good professor, not really. I wouldn?t recommend him unless you think that you can perform on his level of intelligence. He is also a very strange guy as most really smart math teachers are. I had to drop the course I don?t like to blame other but I think that if I would have had a better lab
even though he has an intersting sense of humor i liked him he just takes a little time to warm up to i liked how he incorporated math with everyday life and go on on some tangents about other things he yells randomly sometimes which kept the class interesting :) i would take him again
David Saha is a great instructor and a really nice guy. He clearly knows the subject, and has a passion for it. But he has a dark secret: he is a space alien. Every class, I knew the man was from another planet, one which clearly revered Statistics above all else, and had come to impart their gentle ways upon us. They are here, they are among us.
David Saha is an interesting character. He's a good teacher with knowledge of the subject, but I couldn't shake the feeling that he wasn't from this planet. His glasses are huge: probably some alien form of vision enhancement for him to see our world with his extraterrestrial vision... In any case, decent teacher, don't be afraid to take him.
Horrible. Horrible as in just disrespcetful. He knows his stuff. He needs be working at NASA and not teaching. He yells at us, and looks at you like you are dumb. He doesnt know how to explain concepts. If so much people leave your classroom while you are teaching what does that say?? Well yeah they are rude but that teacher is not helping or is wa
Hes a great guy, and definitely knows his stuff, but occasionally shouts at the class randomly. Its kind of humorous. He'll take the time to help you out though if you ask. And he let me take a quiz once, when I had accidentally slept through a quiz. He also has the tendency to say quiz tomorrow! and it never happens...
David Saha is a very smart man, but a horrible teacher for college algebra. He teaches at a higher level than needed. And doesnt teach the same way as the lecture professor. He is also a very annoying person, i skip class just to get away from him. He is a nice person and will try to help you personally if needed though
GET OUT NOW! this man is crazy he teaches you higher level math and tells you "you wont use this" REALLY? he will randomly start to yell and laugh david saha is on strage man it is suspected he is an alien if your not going to need help in math then stay in the class beacuse it is a good laugh.
Class attendance is not required, however do not miss the quizzes are your grades shall suffer. He is very random, and loud. Very odd. However, apparently all the math TA are. He is also nice. I skip his class all the time or walk out and still is kind. He is so smart, however he is confusing. At least his way of teaching isn't my way.
This guy was awesome. Instead of standing in front of class and just talking at you for the time given he would actively move about the front of class and answer any questions you had! His screaming and laughing really made you wake up and show interest in class.
Dave Saha is a nice guy and means well with his intentions, but is a horrible teacher. I never showed up to class or always walked out early because I didn't understand anything he was trying to teach. If you ask a question he will call you out and make you look like an idiot in front of the whole class. Very smart man but not a good teacher.
HE is a bit weird, definitely a math type. He gets very excited about the material but he goes too fast to really absorb it the first time. use the TA and go to 1-1 tutoring. homework, quizzes and projects are easy and add to your grade. he curves (11 points last test!!) he is fair, and accommodating but again weird
He will yell at you if you ask a question. He's just overall not helpful at all.DONT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!! He even starts out by saying more than half will fail this course.
HE IS A TERRIBLE TEACHER!! He constantly yells at you when you are trying to ask for help or asking a question. He SUCKS!! He says he wants to help us pass but doesn't do anything. All he does is read through slideshows then expects us to know what we're doing. The TA was more help than he was! DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS!! STAY AWAY!!
Professor Saha is the stereotypical statistics teacher- wierd and nerdy. The class is long, and he isn't very clear about what he is teaching. Be prepared to have tests he taught nothing about, and impossible homework on webassign. I have taken statistics before and did very well, but this class was extremely challenging.
Very unorganized and not very clear. He is basically just talking at the class for the entire 2 hours and 45 minutes. I have never disliked a professor as much as I did him.
i witnessed,& heard about him making inappropriate comments about female students. he literally goes from angry screaming to laughing & jovial within seconds; seems highly mentally &/or emotionally unstable. spent a lot of class time spewing tea party propaganda. however, above all else: an absolutely horrible teacher. unclear, & far worse: unfair.
Run like hell. He is an awful professor. I didn't learn a thing in his class.
He is the only reason I passed Calc I and II! By far the most helpful and caring professor I've ever had.
This...teacher...is....so...BAD. He's not even a teacher he's a lab head, he's not even SUPPOSED to be teaching, but that wouldn't matter, if HE WAS ACTUALLY DECENT AT TEACHING. Please don't take him EVER, when he tries to explain things he goes on tangents talking about space time continuum equations confusing the HELL out of you. TERIIBLE job
SUCH A BAD TEACHER. He is a pushover so you'll probably get a good grade because he curves his impossible tests so much, but this class is so boring. He has no idea how to teach, and loves math a little too much. Run like hell. Everyone in my class could not wait to get the semester over with.
Horrible awful terrible professor, saw a girl cried ONCE because all she needed was 1% or less to pass and he failed her, he doesn't teaches from the text book and he yells at student. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!
OK yeah he is a little crazy with the yelling , but if you are involved and participate in the class, he will respect you. The people who claim they didn't learn anything were probably the bimbos that sat in the back texting the whole time! he curves grades a lot, our whole class failed a quiz so he gave everyone 90% on it come on! I recommend him.
Aweful teacher, yells at class, and cannot explain anything to the class
This guy should be avoided at all costs. He is not a very good teacher. Very random, yells out things in Russian, and doesnt care about anyone in the class. If you have a question he is very vague and just says look it up in the book. The book is not used in class, just his notes. He spends most of the class on a problem and run late every class.
This is the second time I've had Saha as a professor. I do not like him just because he can make it really difficult to understand what he is trying to say, or he purposely confuses you. He goes way too fast in PowerPoints. Personally, I just do not like the way he teaches. He curves grades like crazy though. I got a low B in this class.
Dont under any circumstances take this mans class. He moves way to fast in his lesson and jumps section to section without informing his students. Also, I cant even get my grade out this man let alone help on the lessons. Dont like the teacher. But in a positive note he does curve tests like crazy!
Yells at you when you try to ask a question, awful teacher all around. Curves your test like crazy but that doesn't necessarily help. avoid him as a teacher if you can
Yells a lot in class, especially when asking questions. Moves too fast through the material and does not explain some topics enough. Don't take him unless you have too
This man is the worst teacher I have ever had. He goes through lessons super fast, doesn't tell anyone what he's even going over. Sometimes he goes through a whole formula for half a class and then says you don't need it. Waste of time. If you have a question you get yelled at. Don't expect to ever know your grade because he won't use Canvas.
David Saha is the WORST professor I have EVER had. He screams and yells in class. If you have a question DON'T bother asking, he'll just scream in your face and call you an idiot and laugh. If you're choosing between taking the class with the only professor available and just not taking the class until the next semester, just wait. He is horrible.
I would not recommend this professor as a first choice. However, Saha is not as bad as this site makes him seem. He does rush lessons, but if you have any questions he is always available to help during his office hours. He gets rid of your lowest exam score and curves your final grade. Whats not to like about that ? I got a B and hardly tried.
If you are a freshman, I would suggest avoiding this professor. He's got a constant mindset for upper level courses. Not very helpful.
Has no idea what he is talking about. Screams randomly. No one goes to his lectures because he isn't helpful at all. I failed a test because my calculator was mistaken and he dismissed it later to find out that it really was wrong. If you are not a self sufficient math learner DO NOT TAKE HIM. He doesn't do any notes and just reads off the book.
Had to drop his class. He is terrible, his lectures are terrible. I didn't listen to rate my professor and took his class... don't do it! DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!
DO NOT TAKE HIM!!! Horrible teacher. If you want to do well, just take a different teacher.
I was a straight A math student until I took Sahas class
The guy sucks at teaching college algebra.. he tries to teach it likes a calc III class. his lectures a confusing and he never gives out worksheets or anything of that sort to prepare for a test
Seriously the worst professor. He does not make sense in his lectures so you end up teaching yourself. He is horrible at explaining. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
Actually the worst professor ever. Randomly yells at the class, follows no notes or text book guide lines. Always starts his lectures off with, "I teach this a diferent way." Thats when you know you're in trouble. Also don't get condensation on his test, he will yell at you and throw it across the room.
If you value your grade and actually want to learn DO NOT TAKE HIM! He has no idea what he is doing and doesn't teach at all. He almost never answers students with questions. By the end of the semester there were only about 13 students in all of his classes out of 75 that were showing up. If this doesn't tell you something i dont know what will.
Professor Saha is extremely smart, which you'll find out if you take him, but he doesn't teach the subject in a matter that is understandable to students. If you don't have to, don't take him. He drops a quiz and curves them, but if you want to actually learn you're better off taking another teacher.
Homework is done online. The group projects were alright. He does yell in the beginning to scare off half of the class and later on to emphasize points. Goes off on tangents, but walk-throughs on the calc were nice. He does care, but he loses patience with those that don't pay attention. Do examples on the homework & take in-class notes!
Awful avoid at all costs.
This guy is horrible. All jokes aside professor saha is not a bad guy but his methods of teaching this class are ruthless and you better be good at teaching yourself because there's almost no way to learn from him.
Honestly a horrible professor, he is intelligent and knows what he's talking about, but doesn't know how to teach. Lectures are so hard to follow because he changes subject and goes off track. Showing up to class was pointless because I ended up teaching myself on mymathlab. Do not take him!!
Without a doubt the worst instructor I've ever had. Asking him a question is asking him to yell at you for asking it. Going to class was genuinely pointless because I felt like he did more confusing than clarifying the material. He does not cover the material as well as he should for a class as complicated as statistics.
The worst professor ever. If math isn't your forte and you can't teach yourself the material then you might as well withdraw from this class. By the end of the semester students realized that and out of a class of 70+ only 3-9 students would show to lectures. Not to mention he yells at students for asking questions. Overall, you don't learn .
By far the worst professor to ever exist. He's one of those teachers that has never seen the inside of a class that shows him how to teach students. Biggest waste of time and money on the planet.
He should not be in a teaching environment. He never answers questions and there's little to no organization. Everyone looks at other students the whole time just to see if anyone understands what is going on and the questions are way above the actual level of the class. Don't expect to learn anything in his class.
The professor teaches functions that weren't in the book and tends to quiz us on materials that haven't been taught before.
Pro. Saha is a quirky professor but he knows his stuff. His tests can be hard but study, study, study. Pro. Saha gives extra credit points on all exams if you take and do well on all the online quizzes. Also, be prepared to meet "Evil Dave" his quirky, strange side that comes to class from time to time.
Professor Saha is hands down the worst professor I have ever taken. I understood nothing that he was saying and neither did anyone around me. He goes off on little tangents and easily confuses you. I took stats later on in college because of transfer reasons and as a junior who had also done dual enrollment, it was the first class I had ever failed
He is a very hard professor if you don't pay attention in his class. Make sure you do your homework because it will help you get by the class. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!! My test Avg was a 60% but homework helped me pass the class.
I was terrified to take his class when I read the reviews about him here. Turned out to be my favorite professor last semester! Very brilliant man who is willing to work with you. If you act like a child, he will definitely treat you as such. Stats is not easy, so go to class (even though it's not mandatory) and pay attention. He is such a riot!
This was by far the HARDEST MOST DIFFICULT CLASS I HAVE EVER TAKEN. If you don't understand the material you have to go to tutoring otherwise you will fail every test. He explains things in a way that is hard to understand.
He's not a great lecturer, to say the least. The information is scattered and he moves so quickly (even in physically writing the information and erasing it) that taking complete notes is nearly impossible. Be prepared to teach yourself the course. Just a heads up, he likes to randomly scream when he's trying to "emphasize" a point.
THE WORST TEACHER EVER. This guy will speed through a topic and when you ask a question he will try to make you feel stupid. Thank God for Khan Academy.
After reading the reviews on him, I was terrified to take his class. However, to pass his class it's simple, DO YOUR HOMEWORK, and do the smartbook assignments. These are easy points that will help you in the end. Also go to tutoring and do not procrastinate. If you actually do what you're suppose to you will pass easily. GO TO CLASS DO NOT SKIP
Infuriating. Refuses to acknowledge when he's wrong. Tries to be your buddy one minute (super awkward), then yells for the dumbest reasons. i.e. walked through the wrong door, when you take out the outlier (like you're supposed to), and prove him wrong about basic addition, etc., etc.... If you have other options, TAKE THE OTHER OPTION. He's awful.
Worst professor that I have had. I received an A in the class but no thanks to him. He yells at the students and talks down to them if they ask questions. Immediately switch out of this class if you get him.
Professor Saha has got to be the WORST professor I have ever had. Went to office hours to ask a question and he yelled and threw a pencil across the room because I didn't know the answer. I have no respect for him. Course is loaded with HW. Lot of Tests. Goes off on un-important topics that distracts you from the material. DO NOT take him. Ever.
