His micro 20 class is all about applied science. It is extremely interesting and never boring. He post his notes on the Internet and responds to emails very fast. I wish he taught more science classes at LACC.If you take him you will not regret it. I took him in the summer and it was great. Thanks David for a great class.

Dr. Sanchez is the best professor i ever had. Unlike my Anotomy and other sci. classes this course very comprehensive and we don't have to read the book in detail because Dr. Sanchez have short cuts (notes) for every lecture. In additon he is friendly and just a good guy. Good Job

He's fantastic and have sense of humor. You would get the grade you deserve as long as you work hard for it. You don't feel intimidated at all. I would recommend taking his microbiology 20. Because he is so nice my advice is do not take advantage of him.

Teachers like Sanchez who are too easy on their student's can't be "better". he knows that if he was harder many students won't pass the class so he ends up watering down micro. it's a diservice to those who wanted to really learn more! he also skipped many material. no amount of joking/sarcasm makes up for this. thumbs down

i didnt get an A but i think i learned a lot, i read the book like he told us to and he actually cared and helped me when i couldnt understand stuff... i think talking about if he was easy or not is dumb, micro is not an easy subject... i learned a lot and maybe i wasnt as smart as the other person that posted here, but i liked the class a lot

As a professor, Dr. Sanchez was simply the best. He was down to earth, understanding, approachable, fair, sweet, humble, and very helpful. To those who are complaining, how sad. I absolutely loved Dr. Sanchez. He is the type of professor you don't even need a book as long as you take good notes and download all his notes. He is extremely helpful and knowledgable. Before I took the class I wasnt very interested in the subject but now I love it. I strongly recommend no one other than this professor for microbiology.

This class is hard IF u don't study, that's why I marked it hard. But if u study 4 it and do the work, then u'l breeze thru it. He's not hard 2 understand simply because he speaks clearly compared 2 other professors that have a heavy accent! If u need micro, TAKE HIS CLASS! Seriously!

Every student dreads taking Microbiology but with Dr. Sanchez you will not only learn but you also laugh and understand the material without being intimidated. He is so funny and he teaches with directness, clarity and sarcasm. Good bye friend! But I will always know that "LEO GOES GER!"

He starts out really hard- lots of assignments and quizzes at the beginning of each class. But if you show up everyday on time and do the work, you'll be fine. In fact, I was surprised how many people got A's. He is an easy grader and gives away extra credit points. Also, the review sheets are really helpful for studying before the test.

He is a very helpful teacher. His lecture is crystal clear. He writes his lecture on the board which is very helpful. I have learned a lot.His essay questions on the test are tricky, but he will help you to answer them. He also grade the exam fairly. His multiple part are easy to answer by following his lecture and attending the class

Great professor!! Quiz every lecture but its all base on the notes he gives you the lecture before. Clinical Correlation every week but its easy. This class isn't that easy and that is why you must put some effort. Professor is very helpful and gives extra credit to students who are willing to work hard in his class. Test are based on lecture.

I had the opportunity to go see Terminator 2 revived in a theater or study for this class. What did I do? I studied to prep up for this class. This guy is as serious as the liquid metal T-1000 dude from T2. You learn as much from his class as Arnold learned from John Connor about being human. Consider yourself lucky if you get to be his student.

Professor David Sanchez is the Bomb! You will enjoy his classs since he creates a positive learning experience for the studens. Do whatever you can to get into this class. I nearly dropped this class before starting because it was all day on Saturdays. Within two classes I was looking forward to going there at 8am every Saturday. He made the subject incredibly entertaining and interesting. No mind-numbing powerpoint believes in giving the student value for their money.

Two for one! With Dr. Sanchez you also get Dr. Miranda, which is very helpful especially during lab. The class is not easy but it is def. interesting thanks to these two. Be ready to work but most importantly learn! The only complain I have is that he did take a long time to return graded work but other than that he is awesome!

To me, tests were easier than quizzes and it was just like a study guide he gave me. quizzes were also fair enough but you do have to memorize vocabs and stuffs. Only defect i can find is that Dr.sanchez only teaches the class on saturday :(

Very unique professor. He deserves a 5 rating. He is very didicated and enthusiastic. This is what it must be like to be doing something you really love. The class isn't easy but he makes it worth your time. Lectures and labs are fun. I've taken 3 chem labs, 1 bio, & 1 physio, and his lab has been my favorite.

I took Sanchez a few years back but had to come back and rate him. BEST PROFESSOR EVER! His lecture methods are so good that if you don't do well you will know it is your fault.

Sanchez is a great prof, but Miranda can't teach (use youtube). Quizzes are based on book definitions and Exams are based on lecture notes, so take good notes. His class is pretty easy going, but when finals hit, you'll get a 15 pg lab report & 15 pg Final Study Guide. Keep up and constantly review lecture notes to get a good grade!!

The class was geared towards future medical professionals, so most people took the class seriously. Even though they did not go too in depth in terms of the subject, I thought it was enough info for an entry level course . If you want more, take micro 101. His lectures are the passage to pass the class. There is always a quiz before every class that's based on the previous lecture (not that hard). His exams come from directly from his lectures, there's no additional info needed if not told. He provides study guides, extra credit. MEMORIZE THE LECTURE NOTES. Dr. Sanchez & Dr. Miranda are both good professors and they are super funny! pay attention during lecture, take notes and draw out all the pictures they draw on the board. Theres one group project, a report, and quiz every Saturday.

Finally, a professor that understands that it is his job to teach his class the material. I loved this class because everything that you needed to know was laid out for you. Attending the lectures is mandatory, however there is the pro that you are graded on actual material that is covered in the lecture. Lots of mini assignments, but they are easy

Pros: I enjoyed his lectures, teaching style and felt like I actually learned a few things. He doesn't mind explaining things further or answering questions. Cons: You are quizzed weekly and you also have weekly homework. His midterms/final tests are difficult and he is not accessible outside of class. No one is perfect, but one of the best.

Dr. Sanchez & Dr. Miranda really give great lectures, they answer any questions you might have and always interact with students. The only thing I would worry about is the final, his two midterms are nothing compared to the final, however, he does tell you what to study and what is irrelevant. Good luck! He's great I definitely recommend him.

When the pandemic started in March 2020, it was complicated to understand the material in an online class. It was easy to pass for some, but it was hard to adjust online courses for others. Professor does give out extra credit for keeping the class motivated and make the grade. Also, Professor Miranda reminded me of Radar from TV SHOW M.A.S.H.

I loved taking micro with Dr. Sanchez and Dr. Miranda! These two are hilarious and made having an online class fun. It is a lot of independent learning and work, but they will explain during class if something isn't clear. Would definitely take them again!

I don't know how anyone can say anything bad about Professor Sanchez. Study guides are true to exams. You will have to read on your own, but text book is very easy to read. Easy grader and gives extra credit. If you're looking for a good Intro class to Micro his course is perfect.

Overall an easy course with a hard to reach, weird, passive aggressive professor but you can deal with it for a semester. Drops the two lowest team & individual quizzes that he gives every week. There's 3 big exams that consist of 100 questions, 150 points overall, & 2 hours to complete it. He does not curve final grades.

Honestly, 4.9 feels low for this professor. I did not want to take this class at all. I did not think it would be remotely interesting and he had such an upbeat, high energy vibe that he tricked me into thinking I like this subject. He has an amazing personality and is obviously very passionate about what he teaches.

Professor Sanchez is amazing. He is funny and he cares about his students. The assignments consist of reading a chapter or two and then you get a small multiple choice quiz when u get back. The labs are super fun and you get to see bacteria grow and you play detective to find what bacteria it is. Do the readings and pay attention and you will pass.
