He is interested in learning, not in testing. He covers the material and is very effective in teaching, but he makes it so fun. He applies what you learn to everyday life. He hates Bush and the war in Iraq, but he won't hold it against you if you disagree with him. He also has a HOT wife!

Who doesn't love Dr. Schjott? He says what needs to be said, and teaches what needs to be taught. I can't help but respect him; he does his own thing and it surpasses any conventional methods. Getting taught by Dr. Schott is like getting taught by a hip Aristotle... comical and intellectual genius.

Really great professor. He's not out to fail you, he just wants you to walk away from the class a little more knowledgable than you were before. Tests are e-a-s-y. He's hardcore liberal but actually respects your opinions. You'll walk away from class laughing. Awesome guy.

The Dude rocks! Made everything seem simple. Just study your notes and everything will fall inot place. Tests are note driven. Makes alot of comments that might be considered vulgar, but he wants you to discuss the topics in class--if you don't you will be writing for the entire hour. He is the best for intro to sociology.

great teacher!with the exception of Remsburg I have never had a more open minded instructor while at OWC. This is one of those classes where you really "learn" instead of just memorizing for the test, and it's completely painless.

This is the one that truly stands out. I loved this professor. This man is meant to be a teacher. He really knows his stuff and the way he lectures makes you want to listen. He is captivating, informative, and very approachable. It is hard to deny that the most influential professor at OWC, lectures on the most important subjects of our time.

I took him online for SYG2010 and he was awesome. He does "Contract grading." During orientation you chose the grade you want and do that grades work. I chose an A, had to meet the 4000 word requirement but the papers, he said he wants my opinion and it's not like research. No mid-term, only a final that was T/F def. Great teacher!

His classes are like listening to a great story rather than a prepared lesson. Go expecting to act like and be treated as an adult. This was one of the most valuable class I have taken during college. This course should be a required. Extremely well prepared lectures, interesting and engaging material. Coolest teacher at OWC!

Dr. Schjott's is a very fair and courteous teacher. Believes everyone starts out with an A in his class and wishes everyone to pass. As long as you take notes and study you will pass his class with flying colors. I would recommend him for any class.

This class was really easy. He does the contract grading for his students. You pick the grade you want, do what that grade requires and you get that grade. It was a bunch of writing. But the writings were very easy. Mid term and Final were just definitions. I took this class DL... highly recommend it. Piece of cake!

This class was extemely easy. Show up, take notes, get an A. I found that there was plenty of interesting material in the text book we never got to. Guess that's about par for an "intro" class.

Creative, thought provoking and on top of that, entertaining! The learning is fun. Contract grading, you set your own goals and grade. Fill the squares, get the grade. Most enjoyable!!!

Great teacher! I took this fast track during the summer and it was great. A laid back attitude and great personality. Lectures where very interesting I swear I laughed until I cried more then once. Dr. Schjott is an amazing teacher! I took his Sociology class in the spring and enjoyed it so much, I opted to take his Social Problems class this coming semester. He's personable and funny, and makes the material easy to understand. As corny as this sounds, he makes learning FUN. I never missed a single day of class. I DEFINITELY reccommend him.

This was a GREAT class.. sadly it went TOO fast! Did the blended class, 1 night a wk, and all tests were take home tests.. all but the midterm and the final, which were straight from lecture, and the other 5tests were from the book -- so you for sure need the book and DON'T wait til the last minute to do the 5tests, they are time consuming!

Had him last semester, I feel like he's very judgemental if you have opinions on an sort of politics or issues in the world. Its whatever though, its an easy class. I had him for social prob and sociology, one class right after the other. He's really funny, ask him about his **** song.

Awesome, simply awesome. I've had Dr. Schjott for all 3 of the classes he teaches (SYG 2000, SYG 2010, and SYG 2430) and I've loved them all. I'm sad that this semester is coming to an end simply because I won't be able to take any more classes with Dr. Schott. To state the obvious, take any (or all) of his classes and you won't be disappointed!!!

I hated for Dr. Schjott's classes to end. He is incredible, helpful, fun, and no topic is out of bounds. If you can fit him in to your schedule AT ALL, do it. He is worth so much more than they could ever pay him.

Took his class online and it was easy breezy, weezy. As long as you complete your assignments and read your books, this class is just the easiest A ever.

Took Social Problems online with him. You sign a contract for the letter grade you want at orientation, and the only different between grades is the amount of papers you write. I contracted for an A, and it wasn't difficult at all, but somewhat time consuming. Wrote 6 small papers, a mid-term paper and exam, and the final was in person. Easy A!

HE IS FUNNY! He had many bunny trails as I call them and you learn stuff but not what you would think. Have lots of papers to write but he doesn't grade too hard! Want an easy A? Take him!! We only had one test!

Coming into this class I did not know what to expect BUT I absolutely loved this class. He is an AWESOME teacher!! I wish all of my professors could be as entertaining as him! I learned so much and enjoyed, looked forward to his class every week. One of my favorite sayings, he would always say, "Clear as mudd."

A very flexible teacher that makes the class interesting. You learn more than you realize just from participation in his class. He respects every student and you can tell he truly enjoys teaching. He is very fair and gives you plenty of ways to make a good grade. Wish I could take another class under him.

Loved his humor, class went by super fast. If you go to class u dont need ur book. Attendance is mandartory but u wouldnt even wanna skip this guy's classes. He uses some of his funny analogies on his test so its important to go to class. Great guy, loved him. He doesn't talk down to you or anything like that. Great professor!

My class time was fairly early in the morning and i'm not a morning person but knowing that when I went to class it would be entertaining and I would be able to learn what I needed to made me want to be there, bright and early. I would definitely take any class of his he made it so easy to actually learn the material.

I took Dr. Schjott in 07' for Sociology, and loved him so much, I took him again in 08' for Social problems. I'm an A-/B+ student. The class is pretty much all discussion (you jot down notes as you go). You really get into the discussions, and he makes learning the material worth your while. And, the material is relevant to everyday life. Loved it!

I definitely recommend his class to anyone. His lectures are always fun and entertaining, but you learn a lot too. Also, his tests are relatively easy if you study your notes. (All your questions on the test are directly from your notes you write.) I can't imagine a better teacher for Sociology.

Absolutely hilarious! I loved his class. I am a dual student, and this was my first college class, and I was somewhat nervous about it...but no worries. Tests come straight from the notes, everything is written on the board. All tests are true/false, and there are 5 homework assignments. Just wish I had him longer! Take him!

Dr. Schjott is an amazing teacher! He definitely loves what he teaches. He is an easy teacher to make you fall in love with the subject. the class is easy, you take notes all the way through and enjoy the occational humor! His tests are fairly easy T/F. You do have to write 7 papers but you they're not due until the last class. Highly reccommended!

Dr. Schjott is very funny and teaches really good. His tests are freakin easy, all true and false! You have to go to class which is okay cuz his lectures are fun to listen to, but you might be offended by some of the stuff he says. Overall he is really great, but if your over sensitive to political/religious issues I would not take it.

AWESOME! I took his course distance learning and Schjott was amazing. His classes are based on a contract grading system in which YOU decide your grade and you work towards it by the amount of work you do. Schjott's class is worth your time and money, as he is upfront with his expectations.

Very interesting class, I took the distance learning course. Quite a few papers to type but all based off your opinions and experiences, so there really is no "right" or "wrong" answer. Your grade is determind by the work you do. Easy final, you just need to keep up with key terms. Very helpful and good about replying to emails by the next day.

Awesome awesome professor and guy. I took him in the 2006-2007 school year for three sociology classes. He's the one that sparked my love of sociology. (I changed my major to Sociology after taking his class & now I'm about to graduate).

Im an average student and made amazing grades. Easy A. Keeps class laughing and give universal examples to help students understand. He won Teacher of the year multiple times. :)

I took Dr. Schjott's class online and we had to sign contract for our grades. I signed up for an A, so as long as I did the work and made over a 60 on my final I would and did get an A.. so WOOHOO! Easy A, you actually learn alot. I'm happy wih my experience with my first online class.

He is humorous and yet always on topic and loves class discussion. the whole class is hands on. 50% of your grade are take home tests which the answers are right there in the textbook. Easy A. Writing assignment that requires you to use the textbook completely. 5 take-home tests that use the book are worth 50% of your grade. 3 in class tests and a 20 question final.

Dr. Schjott is very knowledgeable about the subject that he teaches! He is my mentor in social work and you will learn a lot from his teaching style which is relaxed, yet highly-informative.

Dr. Schjott's tests are straightforward & concise, and the lectures are fun & engaging. It's a low-effort and stress-free A, not because he hands them out for free, but because he really, REALLY knows how to teach. The class is so much fun, leaving it is a disappointment.

Best professor I have ever had. He is clear about what you need to know and makes the class fun. He never usually keeps you there for the full class time. Also super hilarious. I have had him for three classes and would recommend him to anyone.

I really enjoy this class. Dr Schjott is hilarious and knows his stuff. No homework or textbook, so don't waste your $ on it. One 7 paragraph opinion paper, but he graded xtremely harsh for an OPINION paper. 3 50 question T/F exams. Taking him for Social Probs this summer. I recommened!

Very funny, very easy. Tests are T/F and come straight from the notes. About 20% of class is actual note-taking, 80% is him telling funny stories. Never used the textbook, so don't go buy one.

The syllabus is very front loaded, so you may feel overwhelmed for the first few weeks. DO NOT GET BEHIND WITH READING! Heavy textbook use, a few tests, and several papers. He is a funny, helpful, and nice professor, but be prepared to work HARD at this level of class for your grade.

The teacher keeps you up to date. He's a little slow on emailing but he's extremely helpful if he does get back to you! The class is super easy. It is best to read on the subject before taking quizzes because they can be really detailed. I highly recommend taking this teacher!!

Good professor. He's enthusiastic which helps. Tests are all T/F and lecture driven, so don't miss class. If you study your notes, you'll make an A. Could be more encouraging of open debate about issues, instead would acknowledge what you said and move on. (This was also a five week course though, so that might be different for other classes)

This class was an easy "A", and an extremely fun class. While Dr. Schjott spends most of the class telling hilarious jokes, I also learned a lot from the class. Tests are lecture driven and 50 t/f, and while I thought he graded the powerpoint (no presentation, just turn in a hard copy) a little tough, I received an A+. Definitely would recommend!

I took both of his Sociology Classes, SYG2000 in class and SYG2010 online. Passed both with A's. Take good notes, show up for lectures and pay attention. Online class is open book, you still need to read the text to pass. But overall great class! Taking his Family and Society Class online this summer.

This professor is awesome. He keeps you interested in the class discussion but never overloads you with work to where you loose interest in anything. He recently got a divorce and his on going jokes about it has kept us all entertained. There is 3 tests a power point presentation and 5 online assignments. Easy A as long as you do work and study.

Eek, never taking an online course again. I think I may have just barely passed, but it's a close one. I love mr Schjott, I had him before for a different class, it's unfortunate I had to take this course online. It's not bad I suppose though, I've never taken an online course. If possible though, definitely take this class in person! worth it!

I took his online Sociology class. It was very straightforward and was geared towards the working college student. He gives you ample time to complete the assignments and all are relatively easy if you study at all. I'd say it's an easy A or B class even without reading the book. Make sure assignments are done on time and you'll pass easily.

I looooved DR. Schjott. He is hilarious! Some lectures are full class length, others are quicker. He always hand writes notes on the board and then lectures about them. His tests are 50 questions T/F only. Seems scary but they are actually very straight forward, if you go to classes you'll be fine. Modules are required, and are a pain!

Amazing teacher. Would suggest 10/10. Tests are easy if you take notes in class and he has a story for all his lectures. This is the teacher you want for Sociology. I took a slight gamble in taking him at another campus just to fit my schedule and didn't regret a single thing.

I was hesitant about taking it online at first since everyone raved about his in-person lectures, but it was equally educational online! There's an easy graded quiz that counts for half of your grade every other week , 2 painless essays , an exit exam, and an insanely easy final that you only need 20 second to look over the study guide. Easy A!

Did 10 modules on connect for homework . We had a powerpoint due towards the end of the semester. Didn't use the textbook. Take good notes and listen. Teacher is humorous and great. Tests are true or false. There are three tests and an exit exam. There is a study guide for the exit exam. A lot of extra credit given. Great class.

Most of the test material comes straight out of the lectures, so pay attention and take notes. If you aren't in class you will miss some of the material, but he doesn't really care if you are there or not. He's funny and real, so it makes the class seem easy. Dr. Schjott is a great teacher, he offers extra credit by donating to the food pantry. I didn't use the book at all during the semester, I didn't even by it.

Schjott's a fave prof at NWFSC; he's funny, whip smart, and unafraid to challenge his students inherent ideologies by playing devil's advocate during class discussions. He usually only assigns online modules bookwise, so if you're motivated you can finish those up within your free trial and skip having to purchase the text. 10/10, would take again.

I'm still in Dr. Schjotts class currently and absolutely love it! He is the funniest professor and makes class enjoyable, so you won't even want to skip. He knows what he's talking about when it comes to the subject matter and makes it interesting and relevant to today. Hopefully I'll have more classes to take with him in the future.

They are based off of notes, so make sure to take notes. Four discussion boards that have to be responded to. Pay attention and you'll be fine. Finally, there are two TED Talk responses.

really easy A. You have plenty of time to finish all assignments. You have 3 attempts on each test. There are no quizzes. 5 discussion questions, 2 ted talk essays (3 paragraphs) , 4 mini essays & the tests are combined by chapters. there are only 4 test. no mid-term just a final.

This class is an easy A. You don't have to buy a textbook, he provides a download. The tests are open book & just true or false questions. There is a good bit of writing throughout the class including discussion posts, TedTalk critiques, and essays but I found them to be very interesting subjects and he's not very strict of a grader. Awesome class!

This was probably the easiest course I have ever taken in my entire life. The homework was incredibly easy. Exams were open book, open notes. You just had to write a few essays (all but 1 were less than 500 words) and participate in group discussions. If you missed an assignment, he would extend the turn-in date. Easy A, highly recommend.

Pofessor Schjott was very easy going. If you missed a due date he would extend the due date an extra 24 hours. Lectures were not long at all. He got to the point in every lecture right away. He is a great teacher. He gives you short lectures but packs them full of information you will actually use on the quizzes and tests. He gives you two chances to take tests and he lets you see the ones you missed. He gives mini essays about particular topics and they help you remember concepts. Course load not over whelming, just turn in on time!

Professor Schjott is the best professor at NWFSC hands down. I cannot say it enough, but I took him for three classes and received an A+ every time. He lays out all what you will have to do during the entire class at the beginning, grades EASY, responds to emails fast, and makes learning actually fun. If you have the option to take Prof. Schjott - DO IT! He's the type of teacher that wants every person to pass. His tests are very clear and go with the notes/power points (I took two of his online classes). His tests are true/false and you have two attempts to take them. If you do no make an A+ in his class, you are basically trying to fail.

There were a couple assignments that he didn't feel like grading so he just gave everyone a 100 if they had showed up to class that day. His sense of humor was great. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Schjott's Sociology course for Easy A Social Science credit. Text is a free online PDF! I took the 1/2 semester online course, made up of 4 tests (open book, can retake it for 2nd try), 4 mini essays (350 words), 4 journal entry's (100-200 words) and 4 discussion posts. I didn't read the book just skimmed it and got an A.

He was very good with the timing of assignments and the video lectures covered good material. He would also include a funny question in tests so at least you got one question right LOL.

Good professor. He sets out 2 or 3 assignments every two weeks. He offers a free textbook so it's one less expense which is really nice. 4 tests, 1 final, a couple journals, a couple mini-essays, a couple of discussion boards. All open-note, open-book. Simple class that was an easy A. Take him if you need a social science.

Dr.Schjott was my freshman year sociology teacher, he was absolutely phenomenal! He is always making sure you know what will be on the test, and keeps you connected to the material by relating his own stories! So happy to have had him and would 100% take any class he had.
