Great instructor, makes writing interesting, accepts your opinion on subjects. Doesn't belittle you. Is very fair.

Great teacher.

If you like discussing short stories then he would be up your ally. He respects other people's opinions and doesn't criticize anyone for thinking or interpreting writing differently. He's very helpful at explaining events in the story. If you pay attention it should be an easy A or B.

Excellent. Mr. Scheicher caters to everyone in his class from English majors to those who are a bit slow on the uptake. He never seems to get frustrated or exasperated and is very good at explaining the assigned readings. Definitely recommended.

I LOVED HIM!!! I learned sooo much in his class and really enjoyed his teaching style. He is reasonable and understanding with adult students who have other responsibilities. He gives good grades if he knows that you put some effort into the work. I never felt uncomfortable asking a question and enjoyed hearing his perspective on things.

This was the best class that I have ever taken. He is very easy to understand, and his discussions are very thought provoking. He is an excellent teacher. I reccommend that everyone takes his class. I would take his class again in a heartbeat!!!

Awesome teacher

this guy is great. he is hilarious, and his interaction with the class makes it really interesting. you do have to do your homework every week, but it's just a tiny bit. definitely recommend him.

This guy was the best I have came across so far at the college. He made the class fun and so interesting. This class was so easy. Just read the stories and do the writing projects. No final either.

Great teacher!! I have a greater appreciation for literature, short stories and poems. Enjoyed his teaching style and discussing the reading assignments. Attendance,class participation and completing assignments are very important. He is an asset to the college. Highly recommend taking his class.

Overall a very friendly, thorough and helpful professor. Fun to talk to, as well! Actual lectures were sometimes boring, but class discussions about the short stories we read were fun, and he appreciates you when you participate in class or if you have a good writing style. I recommend taking lots of notes to do well on tests.

Great professor, had him for COM101 and 102. It's about time GCC hired him full time. (Should have a long time ago.) He is very dedicated to his work and the students, as well.

Great teaching style! I really enjoy his class. He helps you to see things in a new way. He's so passionate about literature and it definitely rubs off on you. There is a journal assignment for every story and the tests are take home. I would encourage anyone to take his class!

he was really an easy teacher. most work is journal entries but as long as you do them all you will pass the class. they dont really have to be more than a paragraph. he was a bit boring but i would definitely take him again. hes a nice guy

Class was easy. Homework was mostly doing journal entries for the readings. Only two essays that are cake and you choose the subject as long as it has to do with reading. Somewhat funny and always in a good mood. Even in the hallway he's always smiling.

So easy, 5 essays through, makes you use safe assign. He's a hard liberal too.

AMAZING!! take this class. had him for both com 101 and 102. lectures are boring occasionally but assignments are piece of cake (if you like to write) .. he's a nice guy and he's always smiling. you'll really enjoy his class and you'll get an A too!

Great professor. The work was fairly easy, although there was alot of journal entries. Two essays any subject in literature you choose. He did use the book alot however all the assigned readings can be found online and you can get journal questions from a classmate. I would recommend taking him for com 102.

Had him for com 101 & 102 and he is by far one of the best professors at gcc! very passionate about gcc and his teaching and it reflects in his classrooms! can be boring but overall he is very positive and is more than willing to help his students in and out of the class. For an A+ i strongly recommend taking him! :)

MR SCHLEICHER IS A VERY GOOD INSTRUCTOR.HE'S BIG ON MLA FORMATING FOR THE 3 RESEARCH ESSAYS THAT HE GIVES PLUS 1 TAKE HOME TEST WHICH IS REAL EASY, IF YOU TAKE NOTES WHILE HE LECTURES THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH YOUR TAKE HOME TEST.HE'S INTO POETRIES AND SHORT STORIES.HOME WORK ARE ALL READING AND DOING JOURNALS THAT YOU HAVE TO TURN IN EA

hands down..his lectures are boring..but he's a nice teacher overall..he allows you to make up certain assignments to boost your grade..and he's very helpful..i strongly recommend him

Had his class early in the morning, so I was dreading it from the start, but he made it an enjoyable experience despite me not being a morning person. Would love to take him again if I got the chance.

A great person. He was a good teacher, but also very nice. I had a grade issue after I took his class, and even though it was a month or two after, he was wiling to meet with me and make sure I got the grade I deserved.

Great professor and personallity!Very knowlegeable, funny! I had him for an intensive summer I class, but it was enjoyable experience from the start! He is very strict with following MLA standards, but that is good, so now I am very good with MLA too. He checks homework/essays and gives you the grades quick. I wish I took my COM101 class with him!!

Prof Schleicher is a fantastic professor! He is always available if you have any questions or concerns. Make sure that you read your text and take notes so that you do well on your papers, midterm, and final. He is one of the best profs I've had at GCC. I would definitely recommend him!

Great Professor. Very passionate about teaching. 4 essays, 2 tests and one presentation. Grades fairly.

Passionate about his subject. Encourages creative thinking. Tests are too hard though.

Very easy teacher. The only thing that made me upset is that he would tell me I was wrong when I answered and then say exactly what I just said. I felt like he paid more attention to kids who did not try rather than the kids who knew their stuff.

Really nice guy & helps you out a lot if you come to him. Talks a lot & tends to get somewhat off topic but his stories can be very amusing at times.

Grades way too harshly on MLA. But he grades content very leniently. Starts off class with extremely boring lectures. You have to do four essays and a presentation. Lets you rewrite one essay if you need a better grade. Nice guy but always needs to be right. Very passionate for English.

He's a really nice guy. Genuinely cares about his students and will help in any way possible. Yes, he's quite particular about MLA but is lenient in grading. Just wants everyone to do well! I'd take him again in a heartbeat. 4 essays, 1 presentation. HW most nights but very easy.

Great professor and a really nice guy! Essays assigned most nights, but he never quizzes on them. Grades papers on format, not content, so it is very easy to get an A. Lets class out early most days. He is also extremely helpful and flexible with everything! You will get an A as long as you do your work and attend class

Prof. Schleicher is a great teacher. He explains things very well. Take notes on his lectures because he will use information from lectures on his midterm and final. I think he added lots of insight to the stories and poetry we studied. He wants students to do well and he treats everyone will fairness. I really enjoyed his class.

Mr. Schleicher is a wonderful teacher. The course is heavy in reading, there are 4 papers due in the semester. He is more interested in the correct MLA format than in content. Easy A.

Professor Schleicher is very passionate about what he teaches and is very good at it. Sometimes it is hard to get his attention, I feel he sometimes gets overwhelmed with so many classes. But as long as you write your papers, hand them in on time, show up for class and participate, you should be fine. His mid-term & final are hard. I read & studied

Amazing guy who's really knowledgable about the subject. He's also pretty funny. There is a group project and presentation, which is never usually a fun time, but he grades pretty easily and its not that hard. Would definitely recommend to anyone! There's really no excuse for doing bad in this class.

I found him to be very funny and enjoyable to listen too. Good class and very straight forward for an English course.

Mr Schleicer was the best teacher I've ever had since the 5th grade he was helpful and clear and interesting. I only wish more students would have responded to him and would not just sit there like they didn't want to be there. show up to class ready and prepared and seem interested.

He was so nice and such an easy grader. As long as you follow MLA format on your papers you'll pass. He assigns one project where you need a partner, but it is really simple.

He can get a little boring a times but overall he's a great professor. He gives you clear feedback on your essay's and is always available after class to talk to you.

Very easy class, lectures kind of boring and long, but he is funny and tries to make humor and light of the class but can go off random and off course . Basically 4 main essays and one group presentation. Gives good feedback and is available after class to talk about it. And essay requirements are not insanely difficult.

It was a pleasure taking this class. The only down side is that my circumstances did not permit me to take the course during a traditional semester. He is very knowledgeable on his subject matter and passionate about sharing that knowledge. He respects that interpretations of literary works depend one the reader's perspective and can vary widely.

I actually love professor Dave. He's very understanding and outgoing. If you think your gonna fail his class because of him shame on you. The only way you will fail is because of you. He give you a deadline a month in advance when papers are due, plus the whole semester to revise one of your essays. So mr Dave I'll see you next semester sir.

If you read and take notes when he talks about the assigned readings the next class the class is easy. The midterm and finals are on the readings, but my notes helped a lot. As long as you show up and do the papers you should get a decent grade.

Professor Schleicher was awesome. He is such a nice guy and he really loves English. Only had 4 essays but I had an A average for the first 3 so I didn't have to do the last one, final exam was take home. Only homework was reading stories to go over in the next class. The stories were actually fun to read. Definitely suggest taking him for english!

I found this class very helpful. I feel as though I am a better writer and a more critical reader. If you read the stories, and then hear what Mr. S has to say about them you will begin to understand underlying themes of the stories. Be careful with your MLA format, just as you would with any English professor! He was a great teacher!

I had him for English 101 and he was so great I took him again for English 102. He is not hard at all. He tells you to read the assigned stories. But if you do not understand the stories, don't worry he explains them in class. The only thing that matters are your essays (You only have 4 the whole semester) and showing up.

I loved both classes I took with Mr. Schleicher. There's not much homework - just three essays and a group presentation. You can turn in a fourth essay AND revise one of your old essays for extra credit. He's not a tough grader as long as you follow MLA format, and you can choose your own topics. He's very easygoing and approachable, too.
