I've hated math since mid school, but his class was my favorite this semester. He's adorable, and so funny, you forget you're being forced to do math :) he's also very flexible with late/missed homework and tests.

AWESOME professor! I urge everyone to take him! He explains everything well and its very easy to get an A. He writes some of the tests making them even easier and offers extra credit on his tests! He gives take home quizzes, does NOT take attendance, and does not collect homework until the end of the year.Take him and you will succeed.

This guy is really funny! He gives you the test questions the class before the test. Attendance isn't mandatory but it is highly recommended because he covers the material so well. He'll explain anything if you don't understand. I do not like math at all but enjoy the class thanks to him! He makes learning easy and fun!

David is very funny. In the middle of a lecture he will crack jokes to keep everyone listening. If you want a easy A, take his brother Doug. David does not teach you what is directly on the test. Just do the practice tests online and do most of the homework and you'll get a good grade.

This guy is very interesting, but he loves math. He is willing to always help students out. Pay attention, can be a bit confusing. Tests aren't to bad. He's funny-makes a boring class somewhat interesting.

Dave is really great at his job. He engages his students and provides a cheerful outlook on a sometimes horrid topic. His class should be easy to pass as long as you show up, do the homework, and pay attention to the work he does on the board.

He is a great teacher. He's funny and kinda talks like a game show host. If you ask for him to help you He is always willing to and Helps you pass the class buy giving you a lot of easy quizes and test corrections. The tests can be hard but he doesn't make them and for the most part if you ask what is going to be on it he'll tell you.

My second class with Dave. He is one of the best math teachers out there. He does a great job teaching the material clearly and concisely.

This teacher is great! I would definitely recommend him for 121. The final was really hard in this class and you have to get a 70 to pass the class. Over half of my class failed the final. Overall the class is really fun and the teacher is great - but the final is hard, so make sure you study!

I absolutely hate math and am horrible at it but Schwartz made it fun! Him and his twin brother are very nice men and help their students out. Not to mention funny!

I had Dave for 120 and 129 and he is the best math teacher I have ever had. He makes the subject completely understandable and takes the stress out of learning math.

I liked his class and he showed lots of examples during class but I still don't like math. Very easy grader. Just go to class every time because he shows useful examples that are used on the tests.

Schwartz was an amazing teacher and the class was fairly easy overall. Make use of the office hours and TAs. The tests were reasonable and covered exactly what was in the book very similarly to the homework problems. He was a little awkward at times but did a great job at teaching the material. The online homework however was a huge drawback.

Also I never opened the textbook that was required for the class. The notes in class were plenty to help study for the tests.

I failed out of calculus my first semester of college. I was scared to take it again, but Dave saved me! I passed his class with an A+. He is absolutely hilarious and very helpful when you ask him questions. I won't take calc 2 unless I can get him as my teacher again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

If you are like me then you are deathly afraid of taking Calculus anywhere. Dave made it a reality for me to get the subject and do well. Class is entertaining and he's always willing to help clarify anything.

I've taken both Math 121 and Math 180 with Dave and he makes the concepts much easier to understand than any textbook would in my opinion. He likes to joke around during class and is pretty easy going when it comes to test expectations and homework. I would definitely recommend taking him for either Math 121 or 180. I'd take him again if I could.

Dave was a great math teacher and helped me learn a lot. He is a super easy grader and quizzes are a piece of cake. Follow the review and you will be fine. He is one of the best math teachers I've had and he made class more enjoyable. Will be taking him again!

Great prof, I would recommend you go to class everyday, if you want to do well. The exams are no more that 8 questions. he gives out quizzes every Friday, lowest you get is a 6 if you only write you're name . Hes great, very EASYYYYYYYY! take 180-181 with him.

He is a GREAT person. He is so nerdy and knows his stuff. I would love to take his other classes. He lets you know what's on the exam, he works with you, provides helpful feedback. You have to do some homework but he checks it only once and you do a week quiz.

Prof. Schwartz is one of the single best teachers I have ever had. Not only is he absolutely hilarious, kind, approachable and willing to help, but also an excellent math teacher. I understood difficult concepts in his class with ease. His grading is fair and his exams cover exactly what he says they will. Take this professor he is a gem!

One of the best professors I've had so far. He is really good at explaining the material if you pay attention. He gives super easy pop quizzes sometimes, usually on a Friday. If you don't go to class the rest of the week, at least go then to get the points. Amazing teacher. If I had to take another math class I would make sure it was with him.

I had Dave for both Math 180 & 181. He is one of the best teachers I have ever had! Honestly, if you just do the study guide before an Exam you will do well on the exam; they are fairly similar! Also, the final exam was almost exactly like the study guide just different numbers! I attended his office hours and he likes it when you make an effort!

Absolutely loved this class! I am not great at math and do not entirely like the subject to begin with. Schwartz made the class easy to follow and very enjoyable. He gives quizzes about once a week and there are 3 tests altogether. I learned a lot from this class and he well prepared me for the final! Wish he taught my next course!

All the complicated formulas have been easily explained by his explanations. His class is like magic, and I highly recommend you to take his class.

I was dreading taking math but Schwartz really made it more fun. He's the nicest guy ever. I did the accelerated version of this class and even though it was fast paced and math isn't my strong suit I never felt lost, he's excellent. Watch out for the final though because I found it much more challenging than the rest of the exams.

Professor Schwartz is a passionate mathematics teacher. He's very humorous and his explanation for math problems is very helpful. He's very clear on what he teaches and how he teaches. But do not miss any classes or you miss one whole chapter/section. Also, be aware of his handwriting and small advice sit in the front to see his handwriting better.

Professor Schwartz is one of the better math teachers! His lectures are to the point and he doesn't mumble or get distracted like other professors. The homework is pretty easy. We get about 2 assignments with 4 questions each every week. There are also no tricks on his tests! They're pretty much what we've learned. However, he is picky on notation.

What a great experience!! This class was awesome. This professor is so kind and very reasonable. He is non-judgmental, which makes him super approachable and makes asking for help so easy. Best math professor Ive taken at UNM! As long as you try your hardest you should be fine. Tests are weighted heavily but hes nice and recognizes when youre trying. He does give in class quizzes but theyre usually only one question long, pretty simple, open note, and you can work with others (not sure why there would be a complaint about this).

Dr. Schwartz has been one of the best professors I've had at the University of New Mexico. His personality really comes out during lectures, and he's always willing to help make up tests, or even just get help outside of class. Very easy to ask questions to!

Mr. Schwartz is a funny professor whose class I enjoyed. He clearly explains problem solutions and feels approachable. He often gave extensions on homework if students needed them, and the course review sheets matched his tests well.

I was really busy this semester (apps of calc 2) but I could've gotten an A if I had the time to study more. The makeup tests are harder than the first so try not to miss it, also attendance isn't mandatory but the only other way to get the material is from asking from a classmate or going off the textbook which lowkey sucks, so yeah go to class.

He is a great professor. His lectures are always entertaining and he makes it fun. He is great at explaining why and how things get to the point that he's teaching. He always is open to further explanation outside of class and always is at his office hours for help. Study for the tests and you'll do great. Reviews are very similar to tests.

Dr. Schwartz is a funny guy who really does know what hes talking about. He is willing to redo problems you dont get ad he offers partial credit on homework and tests, but if you dont do well on the tests you will struggle to pass as they are heavily weighted. Overall, he is one of the few instructors in this department that knows how to teach.
