Easy grader. You dont have to get the answer right to recieve point, just knowing how to use the formula gets you half of the points. himework is always extra credit and the midterm is not cummulative
A very good teacher. Very clear.
I like him very much. He has enthusiasm for math. I like the way he teaches. It’s very logical, clear and practical. If you follow him, it’s not hard to get an A. You are willing to do your homework. If you want to major in math, engineering, economic, ta

he explains very clear. If you do you homework, it is not hard to get "A".
his class is easy, juz do ur hw and u'll be able to handle his tests. nice and funny! but easy to get him pissed.. watch out!!
The guy is funny hands down.. If you know someone you should be fine as long as there aren't too many asians who took the course in 9th grade.
Fun guy to be around if you are in ELCA taking him you would very happy
clear, concise and thorough. his HW assignments will tear you a new one but he's quite fair in grading. if you want to learn math in its true artistic form, he's right professor for you
if you want to learn math take this dude. very hepful 2.
Very pompous. Comes into class on a high horse. Makes honest attempt to belittle you.
The best math professor I have ever had in ELAC. His lecture is logic and clear. He is the treasure for the math department. If you want to learn and have fun, he is the right choice for you.
i did not understand math at all until taking his classes. he makes math easy to understand.
he is very much a math genius...great math classes for those who love to learn...
He's very funny, but expects you to do your work and study or else he'll lecture you about it. Nice guy, and helps you have a problem.
he explains very clear on the material, he writes out clear steps for solving the differential equations, much better than reading the book! nice and funny, no boring lectures! highly recommended!!!!!!
Great Teacher. Knows what he is doing. You will really learn from him. Explains clear every problems. If you have a question he will stop and try to make you understand.
I went into the class thinking I was gonna fail. As the class progressed I was actually learing stuff. AWESOME teacher. Just do the homework and ask questions when needed and it'll be an easy grade.
Dr.Senensieb and Dr.Kazimir are by far the two best math professor's at ELAC. Dr.Senensieb is very helpful, very clear, and very fair in regards to hw, which is counted as extra credit from my experience in 262 and 263, his test too assuming you do your hw, and the way he teaches keeps you interested in the class. Take him! Great Professor!
He is a funny, enthusiastic and kool teacher. Makes math class easy, fun and not boring.
Just do the homework and the test will be very easy!
senensieb is awesome. He is by far the best math teacher i have ever had at elac or anywhere else. He is very logical in his approach to teaching and gives many examples, and always answers your questions. Tests are somewhat difficult because of the time constraints, but i would take him for all my math classes if i could!
He needs to stop sceaming in class. He says math is important he also needs to realize that english is important and he needs to go back to english and learn how to spell.I did not the way he was with us he needs to come down on his yelling.
good instru...but
he was realy helpful yes he yells but who doesn't, his tests are simple if you do your homework, and he does many examples and teaches you how to solve very clearly using simpler methoods
Awesome professor!~~~~~~ Take him!~~~~
sinensieb is the best instructor ive had a class with in all of elac. Very clear and always explains what you dont understand. tests seem hard, but if you do the HW you should get a B without a problem. A is a little more difficult to get. I recomend him to everyone who asks about instructors, and I'm taking him for other classes.
He doesn't make homework mandatory which is a big no-no and when he lectures, he gives off a very condescending tone. I don't know what the big deal about him is.
very good at explaining the material.
Truly he is one of ELAC's star professors. His knowledge is top notch and his teaching style is superb. Gives a TON of HW so I highly don't recommend taking this particular class w/other hard classes. His final was cumulative but like he promised it comprised of about 75% of the material toward the end of class that we had not yet been tested on.
he enlighted my math...
he's a really good teacher , but you have to finish all the homework if you want to pass his class , I recommend him
He makes a simple problem to be difficult. He thought he's the smartest guy by skipping a chapter & go back later. It was confused and u have no right to choose. If he's that smart,he should write himself a book & teach whatever he wants. *JERK*
Very good teacher, comes out like a jerk for the first weeks or so, but if you take good notes and do the hw, which is extra credit, youll do fine on tests. Grade is on three tests and a final, and weekly quizzes which comes directly from the homework. HIGHLY RECOMENDED to those who are willing to put in a little work
I had him for 262. Lectures are really clear up until chapter 12. Hard 2nd and 3rd tests & the final is mostly ch.12 stuff. HARD but fair, if you have gotten to calculus you should not expect to find a pushover anyway. I would recommend this guy for engineering students.
EXPECTS STUDENTS TO TAKE CLASS SERIOUSLY. HAS A SENSE OF HUMOR. EXCELLENT PROFESSOR
Very strict. but if uyou ask questions and do your hmwrk. should be okay.
He is a very good teacher. must do hmwrk but its extra credit. his test are very easy and clear. He has to improve on his notes sometimes they are scattered all over the board. But other than that i highly recommend him.
He is a very good teacher. must do hmwrk but its extra credit. his test are very easy and clear. He has to improve on his notes sometimes they are scattered all over the board. But other than that i highly recommend him.
the best math teacher in ELAC ever~~~~!!!!! funny and clear~!~just do your homework, then you will be fine on the quizzes and tests. the last test is hard but if you study you will be fine!~ highly recommand to take him~~~~~!
I took his geometry class 2 years ago and ended up dropping the class. he got angry easily! When he asked questions and nobody answered them, he beated the whiteboard. He has a jerk behavior sometimes. I didn't like this professor.
Easy if you do HW. His quizz are easy, and 100% from his HW assignment. Test will be a little tricky. Easy B+
Quizzes are easy, 100% directly from HW, but tests are tricky. He doesn't drop the lowest test, so you can't mess up on a test.
he is the best professor that i have in elac! he class is interested, quizes are easy, i don't know the tests. i am not good at math, so i have to work hard, but i like this suject best this semester!!!
Mr. Senensieb is a great teacher! the way he explains lectures makes it easier and more understanding because im not good in math myself. but hes the first instructer that taught good in math and i understand it more!If u really wanna learn in his class then take it!! its easy!!
dude the BEST!! gave projects instead of quizes which was a different expirence..i loved it. And he is a freaken nerd..i love nerds..he is so hot(to me) hehe...but teaching wise totally recommend. TAKE HIM you won't regret nothing
i totally agree with the comment below. he's just weird and doesn't care for students. shows no respect and yells for anything. he has massive mood swings. happy one day, total jerk the next. i think his goal is to make students drop. i took him a couple of semesters ago and it seems like he hasn't changed
Senensieb is pretty cool for high level math. Hes pretty witty and noes how to make math interesting. Only real drawback is he doesnt let u use formula sheets for tests, so you have to make sure you know your stuff well, which sucks for the comprehensive final.
Agree with the comments below .. he's good for high lvl math. Reading textbook may help, but he teaches you his method of solving and i find it somehow a bit interesting and easier for some chapters .. highly recommended if you really want to learn ..
just awful! worst attitude ever. if you take him in the morning he is always in a bad mood and will make you feel intimidated. he is good at explaining but man is he a jerk. must be on on every detail. most students dropped last semester because there is no hope only if you kiss his a**. just makes class a scary experience.he has issues!
He is the meanest teacher I had ever met!
100% of grade are based on test/quizzes. 20% for quiz, 60% for exams(3), 20% for final. Material on test/quizzes are fair, but the problem is he doesn't give us enough time to finish anything. I'm always in a RUSH while taking quizzes/exams and I never finish them. He teaches okay, and goes to detail a lot, but overall I wouldn't reccommend.
What an awesome prof! Of course he expects you to do your hw, but who would think otherwise in MATH? He loves math and goes beyond the numbers to make it fun and meaningful. I highly recommend him. And those of you who think he is temperamental -- loosen up, he is putting us on!
He was to logical in my opinion. I know some people liked him even though they still failed the class, but i wouldn't take his classes if you have a hard time with math.
He is a very fun professor,He's good!
Great professor. I hate math and assumed I'd do poorly but I got a B! He is very helpful. He makes funny comments to keep class interesting even at 7am. Will lecture you for 30 minutes if you don't participate in class discussions. Just be attentive and he won't pick on you. He teaches really well and is a fair grader. I highly recommend him.
He is a good teacher, I just hate his attitude. One time,he asked an Asian student for his name. The student answered "Larry". Senensieb "Larry? is that your real name? or is that your American name?" Since then, Ive dislike Senensieb. But i admit that hes a good teacher. Hw is extra credit n he explains the main pts clear. Test r straight forward.
strongly recommend! so great! i took his 227 and 261, will take him again! his lecture is clear and easy to understand. over all is a awesome prof!n hw is count the extra credit, & add to the test score directly, if u pay attention n make effort, easy to get an A
awesome !
Professor Senensieb is nice and fun!He is a really great TEACHER!Things work out simple in his class.Just follow his instruction and pay attention to the details.Math is concerned about preciseness anyway. The course is not easy because it's calc.I addition, his grading system is reasonable.Just work as he says and calc will be much easier and fun.
Very good teacher. i would recommend him for higher math. in the beginning of the semester he was intimidating, but later on he was chill. Alot of extra credit opportunities that ultimately is getting me a B!
Like other people said he's pretty darn intimidating! You have no choice but to participate in this class because he will call names from the roster. He will not hesitate to put u on the spot and embarass you. Since the class I took was college algebra he was a lot easier than other math subjects. this class didn't have any exams just math projects that are pretty fun to do!
Pros:He is crystal clear in his teaching methods and is extremely knowledgeable, hw is extra credit, attendance is not too mandatory. Cons:Hes test are insanely hard, and they only get harder as you go along. Tips:usually on quizes and test he chooses problems with the natural log(LN)so know the properties well
He knows his stuff but if you hate loud-voiced people do not take his class. Plus if you dont participate in class he gets mad and screams even louder.
Very good teacher. You will learn and you will probably get the grade you deserve. I paid attention, did all my homework and got an A
He is very good. there r a lot of extra credit. I got A at final. If u good at math, commend take him.
Not a great professor. Very intimidating & doesn't explain very well even though he knows the material. Don't take him, DEFINITELY learned my calculus 1 in Calculus 2 with FARADINEH. take him instead and you will know your material very well.
Senensieb is a great professor. He explains the material very well and with clarity. He gets REALLY upset when there is a lack of participation in class, and when the class is slacking off. Expect the obligatory tirade every so often. But on a good note, the man has a sincere passion for teaching math, and he clearly wants his students to succeed.
He is generally a good professor He does take roll everyday and there are weekly quizzes taken directly from the book other than that he does not use the book since HW is optional He expects you to know everything and his exams are long and difficult especially towards the end of the class
A big math nerd who loves to teach. Lectures can sometimes seem like he's scolding the class but nonetheless very clear and passionate. Weekly quizzes (straight out of the hmwk) and hmwk is due right before the test for extra credit. If you attend lecture, do the homework, and study moderately you WILL pass. Final was hard! Take him.
organized, clear, strange, like him!!
Mr. Senensieb talks about something irrelarent to the material very often. For example, he spent 20 minutes on talking about how to read numbers once. Although he gives projects instead of quizzes to students, his projects are hard. I feel very frastruted about taking his Math 245.
Yeah he's a little out there. Gets SUPER mad when students are late, and yells for about 20 minutes, but he's a good teacher. Instead of giving tests, all we have are 5 projects, and hw that is collected twice during the semester. The math projects can be somewhat difficult but if you go to his office hours he'll be more than happy to help you!
hes a good teacher, although he yells at us or pick on us, he was doing it for us to wake up or pay attention. Hes really good at teaching Ordinary differential equations which i recommend! ps hes a little easier in this class than in Calc 1,2,3
Sigh..even though he is like super clear, I was hoping that he would extend that skill to more harder problems/ concepts. You can take 275 with him for an ez A b/c of extra credit hw, but you won't be prepared when u transfer which is why you r even taking 275. This class was 90% calculation and formulas.
He has quite the attitude and makes his students feel dumb for asking a question. His class has been my worst experience at ELAC. Definitely DO NOT recommend him!!
Very helpful and clear, highly recommended!
If you want to learn real mathematics related to Engineering, take classes with this man. He teaches so clear and help you a lot when you go to office hours, besides, he provides extra students tutors. Do your homework and you get A on quizzes. 3 Flexible test to get B or A and the final it's mostly last 2 chapters. Take the challenge.
He is very clear in his lectures. He gives three exams and a final. He also asigns quizzes every week, plus extra credit for h/w. His exams are a little difficult but are based on his lectures. Study and you will pass.
Super hard, first test aver is 51 in our class.
I don't know why he is such difficult. Our test average score is about 50, but he thinks of we are worthy with it. He doesn't wana give us chance. sad!
Such a hard math class...the hardest one i ever took since i study in community college.
As a transferring student, I have to pass ths clss and get a good grade, but it seems hard to get C.......
Awesome teacher!!!! He is very clear on his lectures. Tells you what's going to be on the test. His tests are not difficult, but extremely long. Go to SI sessions and do homework and you can pass the class with an A.
Very good teacher. He explains everything thoroughly. Everything on his lectures is what you'll see on his exams.
If you feel ok to push yourself to study very hard from the first week of the semester till the end , you may end up with a not bad grade . if not , don't even bother. taking the class with him, I know how to do the problems, but I don't understand the concept . and usually if u don't to it the way he does ,he may mark u wrong.
His teaching is great! If you do your homework consistently you will learn and understand Cal. I got a C but its because I missed class often and did not do my hw on time. By the end of the semester class was still full bc he actually teaches! He is sarcastic and makes "mean" comments but you just have to realize that he's JUST being sarcastic
Very good professor, but he only grades off 4 exams (3 test + final) 100pts each and 4 hw 25pt each. His test are 2-3 chapters combine and his questions are like 10-15 pts each. Super hard to get an A due to his limited exams.
If you take education seriously , take him !
His attitude was awkward with a lot of requirement. Strongly recommend DO NOT ADD HIS CLASS. He is far more worse than the score??
Good professor, the exams is related to the textbook hw and his lecture. However, a bunch of complicated calculations on the exams. Final test is very very hard! If you want to learn a lot, take him, but please be ready to spend much time on his class.
I'll tell you what, I will never listen to my math tutor's advice again. She advise me to take him. His exams are extremely hard. He is very helpful though. Unless, you have a 4.0 overall gpa and you understand math. Then take him. If you do not understand math. Do not take him. Take Gordon instead. I am taking him now. So, far I am passing.
Take him for 262 and 263.Not hard if you pay attention and do homework. He's really good and responsible. He knows his stuff very well and explains them fair easy. Awesome guy, really like him. Not only learn math from him, but also the strict attitude toward math. If you really want to learn and care about math, take him.
Love his pattern ! Love his classes !
Great Professor, teaches REALLY well. Just do your homework or you can't take the test. Oh yea, and he let's you use a sheet of paper with formulastheorems during the test. Pay attention, do your work on time, study, and you'll do great.
Take Mr. Senensieb if you want to learn and if you're willing to work. I like how he's very on point and organized. He doesn't like people walking in late and it doesn't bother me because I can't stand people being late either. His tests are easy but I managed to get an A out of the class by working hard. The reward is worth it. Not for lazy ppl.
The only professor in ELAC that is capable of explaining the material clearly. My only regret is not taking him for math 262
Amazing professor. Teaches very well and knows how to explain the subject. Is strict but easygoing. Do your work and take notes, you'll be fine.
I don't know how he has such a high rating. He makes his students feel dumb when he calls on you and you don't answer a question right. He puts the students on the spot. I always wanted to walk out cause of his attitude towards his students, its just awful. Don't recommend unless you're use to being put on the spot and actually study your butt off.
Professor Senensieb explains clearly how some geometric formulas we use and know for granted are proven. He changed the way I use to learn math from "just knowing how to do it" to "knowing how to do it and proving how".Participation does matter to help you know if you are learning anything. Yes, he will put u on the spot but 2 c if you are learning
Too many people sympathize for what's gone on in his personal life. He's not a good teacher, rushes through sections leaving students behind, forget about your other classes, if you get ahold of his old tests maybe you'll pass. This class is a joke with his Reviewers favoriting those compared test. Your not learning anything from that.
If you do your homework, you'll do Above Average on your quizes. If you do great in your quizes you'll do great on your exams. All I can say is do your homework and study. Homework is not mandatory, but I highly recommend doing it. Don't forget to "DRAW THE PICTURE!" One thing very important, take your final very serious! It will impact your grade!
Charming prof, he looks and talks like an adult version of Shaggy from Scooby-Doo lol. His tests are pretty hard, but there's nothing gimmicky about them- study what he taught you and you'll do well. That's it, no tricks . Hmwk is extra credit added to your quiz score. Math profs tend to be sub-par, but Mr. S is a great choice for any math class.
He thoroughly explained the material from the ground up. imo he mostly held a coherent concise & structured lecture throughout the entire semester. Although he had some quirks he was still pretty cool.
Can't stand his weak manners. Other than explaining well during lecture, he expects perfectionist on Exams. Don't ask to repeat explanation and he says students fail Exam only because they don't study. He gets ticked if you fail exam and makes fun when answering questions incorrectly.
Honestly he was the WORST professor I have ever taken in my life. The way he teaches calculus is very confusing. His strict rules and attitude makes you not want to participate in class at all. I feel like the whole class is failing but he still gets to work here. Please get new sandals.
His class was tough in Calc 3 but easy-going in Math275. At first, I hated his class coz of his attitude, until I went to his office hours. He is totally a nice and approachable person that you would love to talk with during his office hours. Love the way he teaches. Clear and make you understand MATH!
Best professor at ELAC, hands down. If you want to learn mathematics take him, if you want some one who will baby you then take someone else.
He was an okay professor. He gave straightforward lecture. The first 2 tests are easy, but the 3rd one and the final are hard. However, you still can handle it if you understand the concepts well. His quizzes every week are easy since it is from the homework, which is a good point to boost up your grade. Don't take it with many STEM classes.
very good professor, you can learn a lot, but kind of strict.
One of the best professors in the whole mathematics department, he is very encouraging and very well respected professor.
Read review of how great of a professor he is but he does not know how to teach. Lectures, homework, and test all seemed to be different and he grades HARD. Most of the class is failing and understands nothing. Makes you feel stupid if you ask a question and then doesn't explain it. Recommend taking another professor.
Honestly really good professor, very clear with material. He makes it easier to understand then whats in the book, many extra credit opportunities, and HW is also extra credit. Study guides giving before test, but homework and examples in class are the same thing on the test, and as long as you get how to do those your test reflect it
This is the professor that would freaking prepare you for university! He is on a different level than any other professors when it comes to Math. What matters more in his class is if you are LEARNING!!! He does give you a lot of homework, but it does help prepare you for exams. It is all about speed when it comes to quiz and exams, so don't sleep!!
A humorous professor who pays great attention to students' punctuality but he is not punctual almost. The class is interesting, but he may not be able to answer your questions and chooses to ignore your questions. Assignments are optional, but you can get extra credit for completion
Professor Senensieb really is one of the best math professors out there at ELAC. Don't believe me? attend his office ours and then, you'll see why. He can explain how to solve a problem in a variety of ways and what patterns to look out for.
Hw is for extra credit. Weekly quizzes. May say mean things sometimes. Quizzes, midterms, and finals reflect homework assignments. Lectures are very well-detailed. Notes may be found in canvas. Syllabus accurately reflects dates. Requires lot of time to study and do hw.
Professor Senensieb is a tough but fair instructor. His lectures are very detailed, and the homework really helps prepare for exams. Use Unstuckstudy and stay on top of the weekly quizzes to do well in this class.
