If you were to find a teacher that cared more for students and learning than Professor Seymour, I'd be a coyote chasing a woodpecker using various defective ACME weapons. There isn't one subject that Professor Seymour can't make enjoyable and teachable.

Decent professor, but when you add in the fact that he impersonates Hitler, Churchill, Nixon, LBJ, Jennifer Tilly, FDR, JFK, and Jacqueline Kennedy all in the same day makes his class pretty desirable.

Professor Seymour speaks clearly when discussing about events with great details. He gives opportunities to students to achieve their grade.

Seymour is a respectful and humorous teacher. He respects everyone's opinion and discusses much of the books in class. He is very helpful and always wanting everyone to participate in class. I hated any class to do with History but professor Seymour really makes it interesting. As long as you read what he assigns and attend the lecture, you will do good. You will actually want to attend class! He makes it VERY entertaining!

When starting the class he seemed intimidating because there aren't multiple choice tests and quizzes every Monday, but as the semester went on his teaching skills made everything easy. Especially since I'm not a history person, I recommend this professor for any history course. Just read and attend lecture and you'll pass. He's not dark sided. :)

If you attend class and take notes you will do well. Although there aren't any multiple choice questions on his tests and there are quizzes every Monday on the weekends readings. I feel I've learned more through his antics then any other instructor that's ever taught me history.

This class is okay but it kind of takes a little bit thinking to recall what you remember so far in the lecture when writing on exams and quizzes. Not bad at all. To be honest, I even procrastinate before every single quizzes and exams and still get an A in this class. Overall he's SUPER cool!

I'll never forget when he shouted "Are you interrupting the fuehrer" across the room in a German accent. Moments like that make the class very enjoyable. I took him for 17A and 17B, it's not hard as long as you're willing to do you part. He's passionate about teaching history and wants his students to succeed. I would highly recommend him.

This class is so fun. I live in a differnet city so sometimes I didnt have enough gas to attend, but being present is very important because his test are 90% based of the notes (and its NOT a multi. choice test) I seriously recommend this class if you're willing to put in your share of the work.

I have never had a real interest in history, but I really enjoyed Professor Seymour's 17A class. He is very clear as to what he expects from his students. As long as you take good notes, do the readings and study, this class is a guarantee pass.

Super funny! Really helpful! Extremely memorable. He is by far one of the best teachers I've encountered. He has the best ways of making information stick in your brain. He'll do anything from really unusual voices too hilarious reenactments. I highly recommend him.

Absolutely loved this class! He is so lively and passionate! I never found history remotely interesting till I took this class. He was hilarious! He has a very clear grading criteria and is willing to answer questions. he's very passionate about people learning and it shows in his lectures. He is one of the best teachers I have ever had!

Seymour's 17B History class is awesome. He's a great teacher and his class is fun to be apart of. His main method of teaching is through lectures and powerpoint which are always entertaining and never boring. For test; all you have to do is make sure you take good notes from his lectures. Does pretty good voice impersonation. An interesting class puts history into two perspectives. The assignments are straight forward unless youre slow. Exams are based off lecture notes and honestly a lay back class. Writing is a must on exams, so take thorough notes or else it will make studying longer

Professor Seymour is by far the best instructor I've had at Merced College. Taking notes is easy, which helps when taking exams. Expect to do a lot of reading for homework. "If you're uptight this is not the class for you." He will say this the first day of class. I had fun learning history and getting an A!

I took this class during the summer, and even though it was only 6 weeks, it felt more like 3-4 only. Time flies in this class because his lectures have so much flow and humor, and the quizzes are exactly the same. No worries there. You just have to pay attention to what he says.

Great Professor. Very entertaining and funny. Tests are essay questions and do require quite a bit of studying but if you pay attention to what he says during the test review, you can figure out exactly what questions will be on the test. Love love loved his class! I learned more in his class than any other class I have ever taken.

Professor Seymour's classes are great!! I had him for both American history classes (17a and 17b). He is hilarious and very knowledgeable. For history majors I would highly recommend. However, he is also great for those who don't really like history. His text books are under $20 for both. Additionally, his tests are extremely easy if you study.

I took his summer class, and I learned a lot! He is humorous and knows what he's talking about. He tells great stories, and cares about his students success. It wasn't the easiest class, a lot of boring reading and writing but was down to earth and treated his students like people. He's a very good history teacher and I defiantly recommend him!!!

He loves what he teaches and is fair about grading. I would take another history class with this Professor. I left knowing more than I though I had known. Job well done.

The best professor I've taken, and as an Ivy League bound, I know good. He is kind of heart yet firm of hand, he grades well, and keeps the course manageable and entertaining. I never once felt soporific in his class. One thing to note is his open mindedness, as a gay vegan, I felt accepted. He is a truly magnificent man; kind and affable!

You don't do a whole lot in class because things get off topic. It used to bother me a lot that 3 slides could take up a whole class, but it's lightweight.. why complain? Haha.

Just do the quizzes and make sure you're taking the notes in class. Test are not multiple choice but this class is easy. It's such a fun class, and Daniel is hilarious! Always had fun since the moment we walked him. I got a 100 percent in the class

As long as you show up and participate, you'll pass the class with an A. This is coming from the laziest person in the game. Of course you will have to take the quiz and exams but as long as you pay attention to his lecture, youll get an A. His lectures are very easy to grab on to. He mixes in comedy with his lectures which makes it easier to learn

If your just trying to pass the class I would totally take him. He lectures in all his classes you just have to write notes and those notes will be on the test. Hes also very outgoing and funny.

Attendance is mandatory, but he doesn't care if you show up. Great with accents, and has good worldly knowledge, suiting for world history. Really nice and accommodating when necessary. I would take him again.

Professor Seymour does his best to make sure everyone passes the class. If you fail this class its because you didn't show up to class or because you put in 0 effort. His quizzes are simple and straightforward. These quizzes take about 10-15 minuets to do. The exams are simple if you show up and take notes. I highly recommend him.

17A is not my favorite time in history, but seymour does his best to make it very interesting. I really like how he gives examples and relates to recent history. Do the quizzes relate to textbook very easy just need to read. Also seymour does his best to help you pass. Dont copy the power point, listen to his lecture has all the information needed

Class was always interesting. Sometimes i would be sweating in there, but that's just me. Cool teacher always talks about history or something related to the topic. Would recommend.

Grades are all based on tests and quizzes, no homework. Tests are essay form but most are take home. He drops the lowest test score of the 4 tests. Go to the lectures and he gives you all the information you need. The books are available on canvas so there is no need to purchase.

So I had Mr. Seymour two years ago (and don't see the chili pepper anymore), but honestly I learned a lot from his class. For a summer course, it was actually rather fun, and his lectures were very informative. Didn't realize the books were available online for his course, but they are! Do need blue books! 10/10 Would recommend taking him.

This is the history professor to consider if you'd like it to never become boring. You will do online quizzes (that are homework assignments) and examinations will either be given online or in person using a bluebook. You will be taking notes from a slide presentation, but can also use the online text that he provides on Canvas if needed.

Took his class during the summer. The professor is extremely knowledgeable and makes the class entertaining which made me want to be there. For 17B, Mr. Seymour is a funny and dope professor all around. I took both his 17A & 17B and passed with an A just do all the the quizzes and take the first 3 exams and pass them so you dont have to the final. Both classes were funny and I enjoyed your humor and stories. Mr. Seymour is a professor I recommended if you plan on taking 17A or 17B.

Super easygoing professor, entertaining and fun class. It was an easy course with extra credit opportunities. All in all would recommend to everyone taking a history course, I loved it and Ive heard the same from all who have taken him.

I took him online he gave us the links to the textbooks we would need which was nice on his part. He assigns weekly reading quizzes on specific chapters and gave some documentaries to watch throughout the semester. His exams are not multiple choice you have to define 5 topics he gives to you to choose from plus an essay. He didn't reply to emails.

The best Professor!!! You will have homework every week but they are so easy! Just watch his lectures and videos he posts and you will be fine!!! Overall I took him spontaneously one semester dreading going to the class but every single time I would go in I would be so happy to go in due to the fact that he always made everything fun and always related it to our lives till this day. I ended up taking history 17B with him also and I ended up getting an A so I appreciate him and he's funny.
