This is a very good professor, he makes the class interesting and he is very funny. We have quizzes every Monday, and we have 3 exams. He offers extra credit during the semester (up to three extra credit options). Very nice and approachable.

He is a very interesting professor. If History is not your favorite subject you should take this class because he makes History interesting. He is also very nice and knowledgeable. I learned more things about History in his class than all my years in High School and History 101. Just show up to class and read the chapters; its a super easy class.

This class is really easy if you take notes and pay attention. Seymour is pretty funny but you have to be aware of what is part of the lecture and what is trivia. I only got a B because I didn't study.

If you are taking Hist 102 or 101, TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! Especially try to take the class during only one day a week. It makes the lessons easier and flow together. Mr. Seymour's class was pretty challenging, mostly because of the reading--there's a lot of it! There were several quizzes and 4 written exams. He made the class very fun, you can tell he loves teaching this subject. In the class, I got over 100% thanks to the extra credit he offers. NOTE: No multiple choice on ANYTHING! I would take it again!!

(contd)and 4 exams (you can drop the final if you do well on 3) and "3" short papers. The exams consist of a few "terms" from the lectures and readings and a short essay. You don't need to buy the books, you can find them online for free (but get the chapters because they don't have pages).Overall, the class is awesome. DONT MISS IT!-Switzerland.

He is an amazing teacher! His lectures are never boring with his unique way of teaching with different voice acting and use of props such as dolls and videos which help you learn the content and retain the info. If the class is outgoing enough he will let the students re-enact events in history which helps with retaining info and class morale.

I took professor Seymour for 101 on Saturdays. He was such a good professor that I took his class on Saturdays again for 102 along with 23 other students. He is interesting and keeps you ingauged. He does impersonation of people and has students act out events in history. Make him bring in his dolls!

I've taken five history classes at Modesto Junior College. This is by far the best one I've ever had! This is the only history class were you get to teach what you want to learn. Group lectures were awesome! The only class this semester I look forward to coming to!

WARNING This class is not for the faint of heart and the completely literal. Protective clothing and a open mind are highly advised. If you know your history than this is the teacher for you. Although I do not understand a lot of his historical jokes, I know others do. History majors this is your teacher. People who know very little about history and cannot remember a lot, this class is way over your head. Overall the most lenient professor I had so far for History101.

Professor Seymour has his own sense of humor. He is very clear on his expectations and gives lots of extra credit. Be prepared to study a little extra for the tests if you are bad at memorizing terms. He is very chill. I got a C on all the exams and was able to pass with a B.

He's an amazing history professor! He is hilarious and makes history fun and interesting. He does assign a lot of reading and his exams are difficult and if you don't study you will NOT get a passing grade. He is loud and out there and he does warns you the very first day. But you can see that he loves to teach.

I took Seymour for Hist101 and 102. Great professor would definitely recommend for students particularly that aren't really into history. He makes history interesting in the way that he delivers the information to you. If you do the readings and attend class you should be fine. You can tell he really cares about what he is teaching.

Great Professor. I was disappointed we didn't cover the industrial revolution as it is a prerequisite for dialogue on capitalism, communism, socialism, class division, anarchism, and other socially dynamic themes and is more relevant to modern working people than other topics. Overall though, Seymour is wildly fun and the class was fulfilling.

I ended up taking Seymour's course as a fluke but as soon as he walked in and opened his mouth I knew I had made the right choice. He is HILARIOUS, which is key for a 3 hour lecture on a Thursday evening. His teaching style is more like storytelling which made history actually fun for me. Alas, my time in his class is filled with very fond memories that I will cherish until the end of time. He is ghetto famous for his hilarious lectures. My personal favorite is when he talks about Kermit Roosevelt. Kermie 4ever 3 He truly makes you think about the whys of history. If you are a history major, his class is a must take.

Prof Seymour really made taking a night class fun. His impersonations are hilarious and they actually helped me remember details. All quizzes are due online, and there is 3 exams and a final. Seymour puts a lot of work down but he's a really cool guy and he gets it and had a smooth transition to online. At the end of the year, he will typically let you turn in all your late assignments or ones you didn't do for full credit. Love him because he understands the stress we undergo as college students.

I just took this class for fall 2020 semester. It was really easy. Lots of reading along with easy assignments. He also provides the reading so you dont have to worry about purchasing a book. He gives many opportunities for students who may fall behind, as well as giving extra credit. Definitely easy class. Do the work and youll pass with an A.

I absolutely admire him so much. He's a really great guy and the class was not even that hard. All you do is do your assignments and boom you'll have a passing grade. The only thing is that there are 4 exams and you only need to pass 3/4 and they are a bit rough but you have time to prepare and you have his lectures so its time consuming but okay.

Seymour's summer class was easy and all online. I only had a few assignments a week and it was very manageable. I skimmed through the reading and was able to get 100% on every assignment! I ended the class with a 106%. I will be taking Seymour for history 102 in the spring!

Very easy class. Each week has a quiz and a discussion post. The lectures are very interesting. The exams are open the entire week and you are not timed. You answer the posted questions for the exam and submit them before the due date. Easy going class, but there is a bit of reading. Sometimes he takes a while to grade, but he is not a harsh grader

This class was super easy but the material given wasn't always clear and the "textbooks" were weird. Lots of discussion posts, and he uses accents and voices during his video lectures which can be distracting sometimes.
