Dr. Sharlin is an excellent professor. He is very laid back but very knowledgeable. He is understanding with students and schedules review sessions. All test material is off of the power point slides, which are always available to print off. You have to study a lot and spend time in the library/lab memorizing different structures for Anatomy.

Dr.Sharlin is a great professor but he definitely has his ups and downs. He reads straight of the powerpoints and usually doesn't elaborate, unless someone asks. He does give review guides an review sessions for the tests but the way he writes the tests is sometimes written at higher levels then the two hundred level. It's challenging. Good Luck!

His tests were hard even with studying, but he gives you test reviews. Read the test questions carefully! He cares about his students and will make adjustments in his style if he feels his approach isn't working. He is fair and really nice. Go to class, practice drawing out diagrams. He gives out PPT's but you need to take addt'l notes during class

Dr Sharlin is the best professor I have at MSU. Those who talk bad about him didn't pay attention in the class. He is very knowledgeable. Just go to class and follow lecture. I can assure anyone will get A+.

Don't listen to any of the negative comments made about this professor. Last semester was his first so a lot of things were trial and error. If you take notes on every lecture and answer the questions he gives you as a study guide, you will do well. DON'T MISS CLASS, and PAY ATTENTION. He is extremely nice and he's very smart.

Sharlin was the best professor for this class!! He loves anatomy and you can really tell it in his lectures! He's more than willing to help you if you have any questions or need help with anything at all!! He curves tests if most people didn't go very good on it!! If you put a little effort into this class you shouldn't have a problem!! :)

Professor Sharlin is awesome! Attendance isn't mandatory but I recommend it. He makes you do online connect assignments but they really help out your grade. Course was pretty easy as long as you take the time to study and ask questions when necessary.

If you go to lecture and make use of his office hours if something is unclear, you should succeed. Also, his tests are from the slides which are basically straight from the textbook.

I highly recommend Professor Sharlin as a teacher! Yes, anatomy is a hard topic, but he makes it somewhat enjoyable to learn! He makes jokes and is really easy to talk to. His study guides are very helpful; in order to do well, I suggest actually filling out the study guide and redrawing the pictures he draws in class.

Sharlin was cool. Makes his lectures seem very interesting. Make sure you show up to class or you wont pass. Start studying 1-2 weeks before an exam and you should be fine.

Anatomy can be a super dense subject to learn but Sharlin does his best to keep it fun! His lectures are fill in the blanks ppt's & that's where he gets test questions. HW sometimes goes way off base of whats learned in class but abt half of it is optional for extra credit. LAB ATTENDANCE IS NO JOKE. Study as you go, it's way too much info to cram!

By far the best professor I've had in my 5 years of attending MSU. He actually cares if his students are understanding the material and is always willing to help. As a person who struggles in general with science classes, it's nice to have a teacher who is more than willing to help. He makes lectures "fun" and I didn't know that existed. AMAZING

Dr. Sharlin made Human Anatomy bearable. He was not only easy to understand, but he made large lecture fun. As long as you study hard this class is very easy to pass.

Believe it or not, success in anatomy is dependent on who teaches it. Sharlin is AMAZING! Dorky, very knowledge, and clear. Gives great study materials for lecture and lab. Accessible when you need him. Lectures are useful and clear. You still need to study though. Lecture and lab both have a lot of material. Take Sharlin!!!

People, please don't make the mistake that I made. Completely disregard studying from the book or any other source. His tests are straight from the slides and from each word that comes out of his mouth: 90% slides, 10% mouth. I would actually recommend recording the lectures and listening to them as a supplementary study material.

Awesome guy! Tough if you miss class because he gives you incomplete slides so you can fill them up during lecture. He grades fairly and he's very upfront on what he wants you to do as a student. He is willing to meet and he actually goes over tests with you to make sure you understand your mistakes. I definitely recommend him as a professor!

I was worried about this class because I had heard it was really difficult. Dr. Sharlin provides you with everything you need to succeed. Lecture notes with blanks are provided, so showing up is a must. There is also an extension on Connect that provides lab models for studying. You just really have to put in the effort for Anatomy. The book will help, but know his lecture slides. His slides are fill in the blank, so if you miss a class, you have to read the textbook or borrow notes from a friend. If he draws something on the board, draw it out yourself because anything that he draws will for sure be on the test.

Not to many tests so every test matters, can recover from a bad lecture test but not a lab exam, bomb one of those your grade will feel it. He makes the lectures interesting and he loves what he teaches. would take again, but if you don't go to class idk how you would cover so much material by yourself. Go to the lecture so you know what to study!

Very good professor, very approachable and understands demands outside of the classroom. Test are based a lot off memory and you should always go to class (sometimes he will put a joke he said in class in the test).

Lecture exams covered an insane amount of information, you can study for a week and still get a C on an exam. Lectures are very interesting, and he is really passionate about what he's teaching. But this class is very difficult and not for students that don't have time to spend 15+ hours studying for each exam. Lab is a lot more simple than lecture

Study. Study. Dont stop at one or two reviews. Ask as many questions as you need to to understand.

Great professor, difficulty level was normal for course. Lab was mandatory, lector was not but he did ask one question on the test that only people who were at lecture could answer correctly. All in all pretty okay class as long as you showed up and cared. He was pretty good with answering questions as best he could

Sharlin is great at giving lectures and if you show up and take good notes the exams are not all that difficult. Reading the textbook well also helps. He explains things well and cares about student's success.

Dr. Sharlin really cares about his students. Content in lecture is heavy, but he makes himself very available outside of class, and does a really good job of explaining things until you understand them. If you put in the work, and genuinely understand the material just beyond basic vocab, you'll be fine.

He really cares if you learn. He gives good feedback if you go into office hours. I would def take him again for literally any course.

There are tests for both lecture and lab, but lecture (for me) was extremely difficult. I never received a grade above a C+, but aced two of the lab tests. Need to show up for class if you want good lecture notes. As long as you study really hard you should be fine, but I recommend reading the book as well. I think that would have helped me.

Dr. Sharlin is an AMAZING professor. I took him in the 5 week summer course and never scored below a 90 on all his lecture exams. Uses fill in the blank notes, which is great. I was really nervous for this class but there is nothing to be scared of. Do not get the book just study his lecture slides. Print the slides prior to class. Do the extra credit. It is all in repetition of the material after each class.

However, at times the lecture exams felt impossible to study for because a lot of things would require a deeper understanding of a topic that I didn't always feel was emphasized during lecture. I absolutely love Dr. Sharlin. I suggest just buying the online book since you really only need it for homework. There is a lot of content covered, but lab exams are straightforward and just focus on the packet material for lecture. I love Sharlin. His lectures are pretty heavy but he takes his time explaining and makes them entertaining. I took this class my first semester as a freshman. The course itself is a lot of memorization as there are lab practicals, but also a lot of comprehension because there are lecture exams. Sharlin made it manageable and offers EC.

He's a good guy

This is my second time taking this course but the first time was with a different professor. He is so much better and I am doing much better in the class. I felt listened to and he makes an effort to connect with his students. He is also very reasonable if you have a legitimate medical issue or family issue.

Just an overall great guy. Made class way more enjoyable and gives out lots of extra credit opportunities. The tests definitely are difficult, but if you study you should do just fine. All multiple choice.

The lectures are kind of boring but he does tell some good stories. For lectures, attendance is not needed but you do need to go for the notes. But for lab attendance is needed for the notes and they take attendance. This class can be hard if you don't study. You need to be ready to study for the lecture exams and the lab particles.

I had Sharlin last year and he was the best professor I've had! He made funny jokes in class which makes the class more enjoyable. Even though attendance isn't required, I recommend you still go and listen because he mentions his wife on one of his test questions and other simple questions. Take advantage of lab exams since it's all memorization!

Awesome professor, really tries to connect with students even in lectures sizes of 200+ and enjoys making jokes and comparing things to real life so they're easier to understand. Do the extra credit from the start, it's extra effort but definitely worth it in the end. Don't be afraid to email him if something comes up, he's very understanding.

Super fun professor, however get ready to study. He gives a lot of extra credit but those usually take about an hour to do, one for every homework so I recommend doing them both at the same time. Lab attendance is mandatory and the content moves fairly fast, and is not really repeated. I hope you're good at memorization!!

David is such a nice professor. There is a lot of stuff to remember for the lectures and lab tests so get ready to study a lot if you want to do good. If you pay attention during lecture and lab it will make studying a lot easier. He gives out extra credit for a 3% final grade boost & if you do good on the final it can replace a lecture test score.
