THIS MAN IS HILARIOUS. HE ALWAYS MANAGES TO MAKE A CLASS OF 500 LAUGH EVEN AT 8:40AM. HIS LECTURES ARE FUN AND INTERESTING. HE HAS 4 TEST 44 QUESTIONS YOU ONLY HAVE TO ANSWER 40 OF THEM. TEST ARE FAIR. MY ADVICE IS READ THE TEXTBOOK AND PURCHASE THE STUDYGUIDE. IT REALLY HELPS WITH REMEMBERING THE MATERIAL. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND HIM.
Seriously, just read the book and you'll get an A. He's a nice guy, funny too, but everything you need to know for the exams comes straight from the book. His lectures were sometimes interesting, but since it was 8:40 am I probably gained more from sleeping. Oh, and having assigned seating in Mason Hall is not fun. Easy class though, take him.
He's a good prof. it's not easy to make a huge class of 400 people funny&interesting but he made it! He always teaches stuff that's deep and useful in the real world. Plus, it's a relatively easy class as long as you read the book carefully. The only thing bad about him is that he (and TAs)really give back the exam score too slow.
He is a great professor. Smart and funny with interesting stories. You will love this class. Read the book and do the Extra credit and you will do fine.
Not an easy professor, but that doesnt mean you shouldnt take him! He's great. wish all my prof. had his personality. is laid back, but expects u to do the reading. if u dont read, u wont pass. his extra credit is a great way for u to do great in his class, so do them!
His way of teaching is awesome.
Wonderful prof. Clear lectures, exams pretty simple if you review the study guide and do the practice multiple choice questions.
awsome professor keeps you ineterested and funny simple class read the textbook and you will do fine
Very FUNNY professor but he was never there for half of the classes! His test's are very very HARD & tricky exams.. To much material he covers in such a short time. I wouldn't recommend him unless you have no other class to take but his.
Great prof. just go over the study guide, and you'll go fine
This prof is extremely funny and makes the material so much fun.. I actually didn't mind waking up 6 in the morning to attend this class..it was worth it.& the exams are very easy and straight forward.. just read the assigned chapters and practice from the study guide and you'll get a really good grade.good luck ;')
This professor is truly amazing and his TA's are helpful as well. 4 exams including the finals, 3 chapters each. Take this class.. even if it's in the morning, he'll wake you up and make you smile.
Sitt was awesome!!! Lectures were super interesting and tests were really really easy as long as you read the text. I earned an A in this class and its a really rewarding experience!
he tries to be funny but great professor. if you read the chapters and review the work in blackboard you should get a high grade. sometimes the TA teach the class and they are BORING. Sitt tries to relate to the class by using videos from YOUTUBE and stuff like that. one time he went around the class spraying water to the students that were sleepin
Great Professor! Interesting Lectures, Fair test, Take him!
Great Prof!! Very easy if you read the textbook, gives extra credit assgnmnts on blkbrd...very funny, actually dresses up on halloween and once in a while sprays ppl in the face if they're caught sleeping..TAKE THIS CLASS! VERY GOOD!
GREAT PROF!!! PLEASE TAKE HIM!!! you won't regret it...just make sure you read the text and you'll do more than fine!! again, TAKE HIM!!!
Good professor, there are 4 multiple choice tests of about 45 on each. The class is held in a lecture hall of about 500 students, is fairly easy, just need to study from the book occasionally. Gives minor extra credit.
GREAT guy. funny as hell. Great prof. By far one of my fav so far. His test can be easy if you study. Book is VERY helpful. Test questions come out of the book. 4 test 3 chapters each. attendance everyday. slides online so if you miss class once its alright. You really dont need to participate. Experiments are fun only have 2 do about 4 or 5.
Take him! His class is interesting and fun. But you definitely need textbook. There are 4 exams throughout the semester. Most likely exams are on your own study.
I found professor Sitt just by browsing psych professors on this site, & boy was I happy w/my choice! Professor Sitt is funny, keeps things really interesting, & finds ways to make you relate. Even what most people would consider boring is really enjoyable. Study the Multiple choice questions in the study guide, & u'll b just fine. Book is NEEDED!
One of the best professors there is. Makes psychology interesting to learn. Its better to pay attention in class and read unless you want to do bad. Theres no reason to. 4 tests including the final. Just study and you should do fine.
Like the comments below, yes, he is interesting. Many flaws to this class, ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY! Many people dropped because of an attend problem so dont be late. take a later class. DONT be late for experiments. you will have to do extra. do well on all exams. one will bring you down. and always do the extra credit.it'll help in the long run
Do the work which is clearly spelled out on the syllabus, STAY ON TOP OF THE READING, participate and STUDY WELL, and you'll cruise to a good grade! Dr. Sitt is very easy to talk to, great personality, so if you have any difficulties GO TO HIM. Very fair - by far one of the best Profs. I've had.
Funny, great personality. Attendance is mandatory; you won't do well if you don't read the textbook.
At first I was a little disappointed cuz I heard he was so great and I got a 67 on the first test. But after I got used to him, he really made the subject clear n' i got a 96 on the final. You have to read the book tho. If you dont then you wont like the class but he makes it really fun. Ended up with a B+ in the class. He's a cool prof. Take him
all u need to do is read the text book and know the terms well and u will get an A. attendance is mandatory but it will not add to ur understanding much...
Very good prof. Funny. Easy to understand but read the text book. Textbook pretty good too.
He is very funny, makes the class fun nad interesting. He is very fair and knows how to teach the subject well. The only thing is that you have to stay on top of the readings but that should be a breeze.
His class is very interesting. But what u need to do is read the text book.
He is one of the best professors around. He manages to keep a class of abt 300 interested for almost 2 hours. Tests are easy and the lectures are great. He makes the subject fun and tries to get the class into it. Read the book and you'll get an A. Don't really need him to pass but he makes it interesting. Knows alot abt psych and got me into it
If you read the book and take good notes you will get an A. While it is necessary to go to class for attendance, you can sleep through the entire lecture with no repercussions - but if you're using your laptop for anything other than notes, no more laptop use.
A lot of information. The professor is well prepared and helps you.
A great professor who actually cares and creates a fun learning environment. Took him for abnormal psych as well, I LOVED the class!! Take him!!
Super Hot and very charismatic...after I took his class I realized my world was psych!!!!!
Best professor for PSY. Don't think twice because it's early class. Keep you awake even at 8:30 in the morning. Exams are fair, just read the book and slides, gives extra credit. Easy A, just study one day before the exam. Funnyyy guy!!!!!!!
awesome professor, funny as hell, and can teach really good, you'll learn a lot in the class
Excellent professor..i had soo much fun in that class..although it was 830 class he kept it enjoyable.. take this class u wont regret it...funny prof really easy going... the text book and study guide gets u an A nothing more..
BEST PROF IN THE WORLD! Trust me when I say that. His lectures are well organized, he is very funny and teaches you a lot. Tests are easy (multiple choice; you can skip 4questions). Makes lecture very interesting. Helps after class if necessary. Easy textbook! I highly recommend him! You get more than you payed for :) He's HOT too :) *****
4 exams with around 45 questions each he let you skips 4 questions staightforward from the book if you do the readings carefully easy A.only 4 absences are allowed + need to complete research requirements. Extra credit given if you do 4 Discussions Board. Overall, nice prof and funny but psychology is so boring even though i got an A.
He's one of my best professors of all time. If you want to get an A, you have to go to this class and take notes. Also do the reading and practice doing questions from the study guide book. That's how you get prepared for exams. Take him. Highly recommended!
Really easy prof if you read the book. Lectures are full of videos and visual aides relating psych concepts to popular culture. Just read the book and the test are VERY easy. I didn't read the book and failed the first test, then studied and aced the next 3. Also gives extra credit for a half grade extra. GOOD TEACHER.
Hes an okay professor. i won't say hes an easy a..prob u will get a b to b+ if u studied. i sleep through all of his classes and never take notes at all. two days before the exam, i would usually study and cram everything. i did the extra credit and ended up with a b+. his exams are very tricky, u really have to think real hard.
Makes lectures enjoyable. Very enthusiastic. Relates text to our lives. Likes student participation. Uses slides that are available on BB. Easy assignments and quizzes online. Exams are fair if you study. A lot of memorization. Read the book, use the study guide, review, and you'll do fine. Great professor :)
he is a great helpful professor!!!!
Sorry, the ratings below this one were screwed up. Please refer to this rating. He makes you read the textbook heavily when comes to studying. His slides are helpful but exam questions are not just only definition but you must apply them to an example. He changed, he's making his class harder. Again, watch it before you take him.
Really, really awesome class, awesome guy. Tests are a little hard but if you study you should do fine. Definetely take, you wont regret it.
Great professor, makes class enjoyable at 8 40 in the morning. the exam you need to study alot from the book. a good class to take with him but u have to study...it is not an easy A
ok look, even though he makes it somewhat not boring, his tests are extremely hard and this is coming from someone that has a 3.7 gpa. i have no idea how he got rated one of the best professors
He is a very good professor. Though he looks pretty young, he is experienced enough to get you head over heels in love with psychology. I have never seen such a passion for teaching. He is definitely charismatic. Take him if you want to have one of the best classes in college.
I am gonna miss this class. He is one of the best professors in Baruch. Very helpful, enthusiastic, and very respectful to students. Honestly, the tests are easy, i got an A. Read the book at least once. And seriously, those who assume that you are not supposed to even open a book before an exam, then ask yourself what are you doing in college?
This class was amazing. For the first time I actual learn something in a fun way. Take this class you will enjoy.Everything is up front just open the book and read and you will do fine
Great class. Very large class but keeps everyone entertained and teaches very interesting material. The work itself isnt so easy but very doable. Reading the pages before each class will get you an A but laziness is a easier approach. Interesting teacher, can talk to him after class, definitely take it.
Okay class. The first test is very difficult unless you like Biology. The 2nd and 3rd tests get progressively easier, so do not drop if you did not do well in the 1st test. Furthermore, there are online quizzes to boost your grade and extra credits. This class is very interesting.
REALLY GREAT!! I really miss this class. He is awesome and makes you eager to learn at 840AM!! neverrrr a drag to go to class. His exams are MC, he gives extra credit. I got an A- and didnt study every day but before the exams for 3-4 days I just read and outlined the book and DEF use the study guide!! hes awesome, def grab a seat in his class!!
I agree prof.Sitt is fun and makes you learn a lot of things, BUT..Psychology is not my major and having to deal with online quizzes, PLAs, discussion boards and study for three exams each covering 5 chapters..pleasee.I think it was a little too hard, plus I don't appreciate we never got to see the correct answers for the quizzes.
This professor is the best one I have ever seen in Baruch. He'll give you an extremely interesting as well as entertaining insight into psychology and wake your curiousity up. After this class, I have been thinking to get a minor in psychology. One important thing - he's got a great personality and he earned respect from most people in the class.
Good teacher, fun, knowledgeable
pretty fun prof
In a nutshell, the best professor I had so far. Engaging, charismatic, knowledgeable, energetic, amusing, etc, etc. He is the kind of teacher that really cares about his students;sadly teachers like him are quite few.
one the best Professor at Baruch. very insteresting. the down side is with the grading the TAs made lots of errors and gave students the wrong grades. Still people haven't been able to contact for a revision.
Everything was already said. I just love him!
Professor Sitt knows how to keep a large class interested. He is very dynamic, funny and over all smart. He provides great presentations. He makes the subject very fascinating to the degree that I will be majoring in Psychology. If you read the book and do the practice exams in Wiley plus will be fine. He gives lots of extra point on PLAs and qui
The professor is very funny and entertaining, however do not take him. The tests are very hard and tricky. The wiley plus system sucks and he grading system was very unfair, I failed the class and I still don't understand how. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
His Grading System Sucks. He is a great teacher and you will learn but for the amount of work that he throws at you its ridiculous, especially for a general class. Firt test i got a C on a 70 question test and i studied my butt off, and im no dummy. I usually pull B's when i hardly study.
It's almost redundant to rate this professor considering the overwhelming positive reviews he's gotten. He's simply one of the best. He makes sure that you are learning the material through the numerous PLAs, researches, and discussion board participations. IMHO, thats what learning is about. He gives you a 360 degree learning experience. Take him!
Good Professor. Read the book, do the assignments and lab experiments, pay attention in class and you'll do well.
Honestly, the professor is aiight, he try to entertain his students, his lectures are ok is not as it will help you pass the class as some others have being saying on here. I never listen to him because I did not find it helpful at all, just read the book and make sure you know it inside and out. Do not take an insignificant sentence in the book fo
His exams are very difficult and he gives a lot of work to do I got an A because I study extremely hard and I never stay to listen to his lectures. My only reference was the book and the online quizzes from Wiley Plus to get a feel of the format of the exam and I did fine. You can do the same but just be ready to work, work, and work very hard
Very good professor. If you do the work and study, you'll get a good great. Enjoyable class
Prof. Sit is such a great guy, if you want to success in his class, make sure reading the book, his class is funny, and he understands about International students and English as 2nd language students, he tries his best to help students,,,thanks,,,prof. Sit
This guy puts the "Yum" in "Yummy"! Oh, the class was great as well!
Ok grading, bad teaching, looks normal, hard to understand, for sure looks AMERICAN, read(S) poorly from powerpoint, I give him a 8 out of 10 for....( Blanky Dy Blank Blank ), and 6 out of 10 for his effort to teach.
He is ok but Prof. Albright makes the class so much more interesting. All Sitt does is read from his slides and it puts alot of people to sleep.
Dave Sitt is a great experimenter. He can conduct simple yet interesting experiments in class. He is energetic, motivated, and very helpful.
excellent professor, he is a baruch alumnus who truly knows how to connect with the student body, funny dude with a very clear, sound teaching style, uses youtube.com sometimes...makes the class laugh alot,he is a good man also, a genuine guy who wants students to understand the material, held friday morning review sessions n put them on blackboard
Defiantly one of the best professors Ive had in Baruch!! Makes class very interesting, and makes you wanna come to class.. there's 4 tests, you just got to make sure you read the book and you'll b OK.. I definantly recommend taking him... o and hes pretty hot.
I did not enjoy this class. Sitt was pretty good. I found some lectures more interesting than others. The subject matter itself put me to sleep. Not my favorite prof though. I didn't agree with the length of class. It was WAY too long.
His lectures are unclear and he tries too hard to make the class fun and interesting. I'd rather have a professor like Albright that teaches the material clearly while still being able to maintain that hint of humor. He did provide review sessions which were appreciated, but overall mediocre professor. Get's his lectures directly from the textbook.
A delight to have had Professor Sitt in the spring term. Made a difficult class such as Psychology very interesting and made the content very clear. I learned very useful material and if I wasn't determined in becoming an Accountant I would of definitely pursued becoming a psychologist. Best advise, read the textbook and pay attention in class
Away from his class, it would be a horrible memory in your college life. It look so easy, but it kill you in exam. One the top 3 GPA killer in baruch.
his exams are hard...
what an amazing caring and knowlegable teacher! He might be my favorite in all history! He is a over qualified for this position but he is giving back since he attended Baruch once too. I am attending his lectures with like 300 students and I wish he taught ALL my classes. He even records classes and puts them online for us. Great personality too!
The best professor at Baruch for two reasons. 1-He knows what he is talking about and explains it to the class clearly. 2- You can tell he enjoys entertaining the class but if your bored he lets you sleep. Highly recommended
keeps the class entertained
Take this professor. His tests are easy if you read the book (book is more important than lectures, but the lectures are always interesting. Likes to use Youtube a lot, and loves psych examples from shows such as Family Guy and the Simpsons
awsome. keep up with the reading, and you got yourself an A
EASY. I personally love Psychology and his lectures are really interesting. Even though I'm always sleepy in the morning, going to his 8:40AM class hardly put me to sleep because of his great lectures. Uses YouTube and Family Guy to get some of his points across. Loved this class!
Amazing, made me want to get up in the morning :D
GOOD TEACHER GUID YOUR THROUGHT PSYCHOLOGICAL WORLD.it is a very interesting class.
The class is well organized and the teacher is cool: positive, funny, and kind.
Professor Sitt has a great personality and sense of humor. His tests are so easy! He lets you pick 6 questions on each test to skip! It is an incredibly interesting class too.
Your grade in this class is 100% based on textbook. Lectures are interesting, but not necessary for learning enough to get A on test. The software that comes with the book is very helpful. If you do the homework (easy) and keep up with reading, you should get an A.
funyn teacher uses a lot of videos and slides. interesting clss
The classes are entertaining, the topics really interesting and the professor is very cool. He is kind, funny and knows how to teach, definitely one of the best classes I've taken in Baruch. The problem is the tests. Everything is based in the book. A little bit too much to do: weekly homework, biweekly discussion board and research. Take him!
Good and interesting lectures. They do drift a bit away from the textbook at times though, so you have to read the chapters.
He's very entertaining (which is hard for a class of 500), but not as thorough in his lectures as albright. you could skip his class and read the book on your own with the same outcome. the class itself is pretty straightforward. since its a class of 500, assignments are limited to mc tests and online assignments. easy A
Awesome teacher who knows the subject from top to toe. Lectures are full of informational fun. Best grade is guaranteed if you read the book, attend the class, complete home assignments and take everything easy! Good Luck!
Great professor. Lot of work to do but if you do everything on time, you will get an A. Tests are multiple choice and there's no point in paying attention in class because everything is directly from the textbook. Not very challenging but have to manage all the work on time: readings, plas, research, exams & extra credit discussion boards. Have fun
Best Professor I ever had. and extremly good looking! very personable and entertaining. keeps u interested
Hilarious and energetic professor! makes most lectures fun and keeps intersted. Has a lot of ideas and you will have fun in class, just get the work done and you'll have an A
Great professor!!!
Attendance is mandatory/good idea because5-7 out of the 66 qs on exam will be from lecture. The rest is all txtbook. 4 exams, each noncumulative, you can skip 6qs on every exam. gives opportunities for extra credit. read the book and go to the entertaining lectures, do the hw and you'll be golden. so glad i took this class w Sitt
Best professor EVER! Subject is very easy and he's very passionate about psych so he makes it so fun to learn! It's the only morning class that I can actually wake up to!
A beautiful person! Has a huge heart & really cares about his students & psychology. Definitely read the book + take notes = you'll get an A, lectures are not exactly insightful, but its an intro class! That's besides the point, the guy teaches LIFE LESSONS, that's more important ultimately than anything else. Life changing.
THE ABSOLUTE BEST! he's awesome, just great. i had to wake up at 630 for this class, and on fridays, but i wanted to go because he's awesome!
The Best Professor!!! Funny and interesting... Keep u awake at 8am in the morning... The best ever... nice and helpful... tests r not easy... and u gotta study... but he worthy it !!!
Great professor! He makes the class interesting and fun! He also gives many interesting examples to help explain some of the ideas learned in class. To him, its not all about grades, its also about the more important things in life. I learned alot in this class. Class is not hard if you read the text and take notes. Defnitely recommend taking him!
A really good prof. Started the semester with an amazing introduction. Rubric is: tests 80%, homework/PLAs 15%, and attendence 5%. The tests are somewhat hard, you have to read the textbook and do the online practice questions on blackboard to get a high score. He also offers extra credit which adds 3% to your grade.
Seriously, I expected this class to be one of those classes where you just sit, learn, take exam, ta-da here's your grade. BUT NOPE! This class is beyond what I've imagined. Professor Sitt really wants his students to not just learn but to have fun in class. DanceLoveNow was created just because we wanted to spread love, perfect love.
GREAT!
if you want to learn psychology this is the prof you want to take this guy is beyond one's thinking..........and you would love the class.
This class has a lot of fun and very interesting. My class in this semester is beginning at 8:40AM and nearly 300 students choose this class. So don't doubt and just take him. There's no paper or whatever just 4 exams which are 80% of your grade. And 15% online homework and5%attendence. He gives interesting video and exaple of his own everyclass.EAS
He Is Awesome Best Teacher Here... Very Fun && Engaging.. Highly Recommended..
Earliest class I had by far but totally worth it! You learn alot from this class!Professor is very interesting and spotaneous. I bet no one can keep that many people up early in the mourning! If you are a curious person and want to learn more defenitely take him!
Earliest class I had by far but totally worth it! You learn alot from this class!Professor is very interesting and spotaneous. I bet no one can keep that many people up early in the mourning!
Great Class! He endeavors to bring positive influence to students. He talks about a lot of stuff that is similar to "The Last Lecture," that is why he is an extraordinary professor. He challenges students and tries to make this world a better place. He is a positive energy to everyone. Def. a must take for everyone! Plus, easy A...
Best teacher! You can't be lazy in this class. You have to put in some work but it's so easy to follow especially with Dr. Sitt. He explains things so well and really helps you if you don't understand. I've nothing to say but positive things. A++
Just dont get lazy, do all the required hw's and research credit requirements, study a little for the 4 exams and you'll be good to go.
Great professor. You can not be lazy in his class. He is extremely passionate about what he does and just wants you to get involved. You need to be on top of your stuff. 4 non cumulative exams, all multiple choice.
I enjoy this class so much and even felt so bad in the last class. Prof. Sitt does not only teach you about the subject but also lessons of life. He really hopes that everyone can take away something from each class. Of course, you will learn a lot from him. He is very passion about psychology and trying to make the class as interesting as possible. He is doing a great job on connecting psychology to real life. He is definitely the best professor I never had before.
Amazing. He is really inspiring and you could feel his passion through his lessons. You will not only leave the class with lessons in Psych but with lessons that will change the way you see life and live. I will never forget this guy and I look forward to taking his Positive Psych course in the spring. He is a gem.
Professor Sitt is very passionate about psychology. I walked away from this class with life lessons I will never forget. I will truly miss this class and I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to take it. if you have the chance, TAKE THIS CLASS! It is beyond worth it.
I will remember him!!
Greatt teacher
20% attendance and homework. 4 exams(each 20%) DO the all online homework and the online extra credit discussion(extra 3points to your final grade). Read the book and do the online review, then exams should be easy.
u rock
Amazing amazing professor. Super passionate and into his teaching. He comes up with interesting ways to get a point across which prepare you for exams which are super easy as long as you do the h/w. He gives 4 (non-cumulative)exams no mid term the 4th exam counts as your final.I really enjoyed the class, may even pursue a career in psychology now.
He's AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you will love his class!
Most memorable professor. Comes up with intuitive ways to teach students (and wake them up too). Online homeworks and four exams (non-cumulative). Besides the easy grade, try to absorb something knowledgeable in the class. Sitt will make a lasting impression on your heart forever.
The best professor I ever had in my life. Just take his class, you will do great. In his class,I learn so many interesting things about my own life, that I didn't know before. 4 exams(non cumulitive). However,You need to read the book. Without reading the book you can pass the exams.
TAKE IT!!LEARN A LOT FROM THIS CLASS!!!
He taught lectures with Sapolsky. They're both awesome, he is engaging and funny at the same time. Amazing professor, easy A, but only if you do your homework and read the textbook. Textbook is very much needed in this class. 4 exams. There is extra credit in his class to boost your grade by half a mark up.
Professor Sitt is a unique professor, but he kept it real. I LEARNED a lot from this course, to the point, I decided to pursue my minor in PSY. There is work to do, but as long as everything is done, you'll be good. I'd say take the class with him. He will blow your mind on both personal and educational perspectives.
Here is the ture FACT. Professor Sitt does not teach much. The fact is that another Professor teaches the class and that's why students enjoy the class. The test aren't hard, but the teachers assistants makes mistake grading your exams!! Beware! and Catch them quick before they make up for their excuse.
Awesome prof! Shares personal stories to connect with his students when teaching the material. He makes a great duo with Prof Sapolsky. You must must study for the tests and memorize the terms. Hws are easy but timely. Watch out for deadlines. I'll take this class with me for the rest of my time at Baruch. Prob pursue a minor in psych now
One of my absolute favorite professors at Baruch. You can't go wrong with this guy. So many different ways you can study and so many opportunities to get an A. Idk how anyone can mess up in his class, honestly. Def recommended :)
Great, very well-rounded professor. The only thing I would recommend is to cover more of the less obvious corners of the chapter (since reading is required /w hw before class) - otherwise I just sit there thinking, "okay..yep..I know..duh.." This guy is great though, he really cares, and is definitely a cream of the crop professor at Baruch!
He was an AMAZING teacher! It is a little intense because you are learning so much but he makes it fun. Do the homework! It really helps towards the exams.
It seems like all negative comments got deleted. the fact is that most classmates I knew didn't know Dr. Sitt's lecture. He is mean, insensitive and rude.He doesn't teach much either. On the other hand, we like Sapolsky, check him out. He is DIVINE!
Dr. Sitt is the man! Knows his stuff, and gets the whole class involved. Was never mean to us, don't know where that rubbish came from. Study for the tests , and you'll get atleast a B+
Dr. [Professor] Sitt is one of the most interesting, intelligent, and unique Prof. I have ever had the pleasure of taking. PSY-3040 gave me a new unique skill. This new skill [tool] has enabled me to be able to apply all that I learn from other classes, into life. He taught me how to take the theoretical, and immediately turn it into the practical.
DR. Sitt is the man. His lecture was very interesting and I learned so much from this class. He kept it always interesting and is was all round fun and engaging. If you read and do the work you will do great and Dr. Sitt will give you your reward. Awesome Professor!!!
Too bad he's not a business teacher. I have nothing negative to say. Psychology majors are lucky. Him along with Prof Sapolsky are probably one of the best teachers I've had. They should teach classes to other professors educating them on how to teach properly.
What can I say about this guy? His awesome. Makes psychology really interesting. One of the best classes I've ever had.
ABSOLUTELY amazing class. Although you have to keep up with lectures and definitely read the textbook completely, the class itself was enjoyable and getting an A was definitely worth it!
Honestly, if you don't get an A in this class, there is something wrong with you...lol...but srsly sitt makes it so easy and I really learned a lot from his class. If you want a chance to boost your GPA, take him...easiest and the most enjoyable A I've ever gotten, thank you Sitt, you're a great prof. and a great man
he is SOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!!!! Holy Sitt! he will make you think a lot and "ignite your imagination". Unbelievable class. the TAs are great and super helpful. Monika ROCKS!!!! It take a lot of work though but it's totally worth the hassle. you will actually learn something useful in every topic he covers! LOVED HIM and Sapolsky!!!! Take him!
Holy Sitt! haha, this was one of the best classes and he was one of the best professors I've had in my college career. It was a pleasure attending his class and I learned more than I thought I would. This class honestly changed my life; it changed my perspective on things. Also, his tests are relatively easy as long as you study. Non-cumulative
Dr. Sitt is a wonderful professor. His lectures are clear. He is funny and keeps the class interested. 4 tests, online HW, attendance, and online extra credit make up your grade. STUDY FOR YOUR TESTS!!!!! And don't forget to complete your research requirement!
this man is truly heaven sent. amazing professor, amazing person. i can't even come up with the words to describe his class. changed my major b/c of it! VERY easy if you study, and it's worth it to read b/c material is truly interesting. TAKE TAKE TAKE!!!!!
The only lecture I would wake up early for. He's the best! You learn in class and have fun learning.
This guy dressed up as a turkey for thanksgiving...if that doesnt make you want to take him well that's too bad for you!
Best professor I've had at Baruch College. I would recommend him to anyone- even in a large class he makes a lasting impression on everyone. If only Baruch had math professors like him.
One of the best professors at Baruch. Does his best to help you with the material. However, the class itself needs you to study, so he's not the type of a guy who gives A to everyone, or curves. He will help you with everything so that you can get an A. Four exams, + Attendance + connect assignments.
He takes his job too seriously and acts on a predication that he is in a high moral position. He takes attendance too seriously. If you're a wide eyed freshman, take him. If you're a graduating senior who has other things to worry about (like grad school applications and starting your career), find a different professor. This guy is too much.
Great professor. Does not curve exams and does not drop any of the four exams because he gives an opportunity for extra credit (which is 3%). Exams are NOT cumulative. No papers. Attendance is mandatory and is taken by his TA. LSA on Connect are mandatory, however, only completion of 80% counts. Overall, highly recommended!
Be aware, he offers a 400 students class; impossible to talk to him. All your concerns are directed to the ladies that help him (Sitt is too important I can imaging to talk to students). The guy just read powerpoint and test are hard. Very disappointed with this class, especially when you have other real life things to worry about. Arrogant guy.
students have to go and be part of 5 experiments, if you can't go then the professor lower your grade, how can be this possible, if they need people then pay them. I mean you are punished from the beginning. Another thing, one of his helper walk around and watching people like she was in the cold war o nazi germany, mediocre professor overall.
I don't know why his rate is so high. Really, he is hard. Yes he might be interesting, funny.. 9:05 am, and mandatory attendance. 4 exams are really hard, 79 class average each. And lots of work. Only 3% extra credit. I would take someone else.
Overrated. Tries too hard to be funny and gets a bit annoying sometimes, but is somewhat interesting if you're able to stay awake. Not too hard of a class if you do the homework and complete the study guide. Being on time and attendance is mandatory tho (worth 5%).
One single point to make YOU NEED TO MASTER THE TEXTBOOK upside down! You simply need to know every single line in it! around 60 pages to read every week, homework = 70 questions done by the time class begins,so you study on your own prior to coming to class then he shows you his power points and tells exactly the same thing! Tests super hard!!
He's a pretty chill professor. Least he's energetic and passionate. Lectures can be dull at times but that depends on your personal interest in the topics. Just lots of reading to do-which should be done to get a good grade on the exams. Doing the hw online helps as well.
Sitt is a good professor who really knows his stuff about psychology and makes it interesting. However, this class is HARD. Be prepared to really work, with lots of homework, VERY hard tests, mandatory attendance (5% of grade), and completing research credits. But, if you do the work you will absolutely get an A. Take this class, but be prepared.
way overrated! tests are hard, very specific questions from the book. You have to know the book by memory, that's ridiculous. Average on tests were 79-80. I mean, Sitt tries to be a friendly person but in the end I noticed that he got a high ego. Unreachable, if you need something, then you talk to the helpers. I made a mistake taking Sitt's class
Great class! Online HW, 4 tests, mandatory attendance, 5 research hours and extra credit. Be ready to study for these tests, they're tough. Overall great Professor but the TA's run the class so show up, do well on tests and you'll get an A.
who said this is an easy class? tons of reading, memorization. I admit he and his TA works hard enough to run a class properly but easiness easiness easiness!!forget about it
Professor Sitt is definitely a great professor who at least shows that he is concerned for his students. Very motivational and fun. The class not easy but not impossible. Study and you will get your A. The tests are hard, the homework is very long and you need to spend a lot of time to make sure you get a good grade in the class. All worth it tho.
The course prepares you for the tests and exams prof Sitt gives to you. Just do all the LSA assignments. My advice is while you answer the question of LSA, read the paragraph related to the question in the book. Try to understand the concepts, not to memorize them. I am not a native speaker, I did fine on all his tests. You CAN do it too. EASY A.
This class is an easy A. Attendance is mandatory. Four tests that are super easy if you memorize the chapters. The online hws are long. His lectures are okay, a little unorganized. I never payed attention to them. I had an A-, but he gives extra credit assignments for 3 points. Therefore, I got the A. Easy! Take him.
This guy has such a huge ego and he is way too full of himself. He expects you know the textbook like you have some type of photogenic memory. He thinks he is all high and mighty. I am never taking him again.
Best professor I've ever had! The class is a lot of work, research study, blog, online quizzes, and a lot of material to cover...BUT he is very entertaining and engaging and the work is very reasonable. DO NOT TAKE PSY WITH ANYONE ELSE!!!
This class was a whole new experience. Basically, to get an A you just have to stay on top of the reading and online HW, which is not hard because, well, it's PSY101. But his lectures were so amazing. One time he invited the author of the textbook from California to come to class and did a talk show sort of thing. Such a cool and inspiring guy.
The best teacher Baruch college has. Not only is his class interesting, he brings in real life experiences for us to understand what mind is all about. If there were any classes given thru him, I would jump on those. Truly a great professor, and you have to earn your grade in understanding the deep concepts.
He is a very good professor. But this class is NOT AN EASY A!!!!! You have to study a lot! Prior registration I relied on comments and his rating, but should not do that. I spent the most of my time preparing for his class. There is so much work, reading, extra credit, LSA online test, research... Tests are hard, but not cumulative. Class avg 80ea
Best Professor Ever. Highly Recommend. Truly enjoys what he does and has a passion for his work. He helps you get a good grade and helps you not only understand the material but truly apply to real life.
I don't understand the negative comments. If you expect to get in touch with him when he has 400+ students in one class, you're insane. There's TA's for that. If it's too much for you, take a smaller class with a worse professor. 4 MC tests are curved (skip 7 q's of your choice) & maybe he's hard to get in touch with, but definitely not rude.
Horrible professor! Don't be foolish and believe in these faulty comments! He has 3 or 4 associates, they must be desperately writing it here to drive you in!! Super hard! Basically, you learn everything yourself, strict policy! No help from him nor his stuff! Tests are killers! I dropped, my GPA is 3.9 ... You do the logic...
A comment under my - def his associates... HE DOESN'T CURVE! What a lie!!! Hard on attendance, when he wants you to know everything from a book! Tests are killers! I was reading every single chapter for 2 times!! Homework WORSE!! 2 hours on a chapter, 2 hours on a homework... and his class boring as hell!! AVOID AVOID AVOID! GPA KILLER!
He is good prof but class with him is very very hard!!!!test are difficult . Lecture plus book is not enough .if you are not smart do not take him . You will have to work hard very hard to get an A.
Great professor! This class is very interesting, and he has a lot real life examples. I wouldn't say the tests are hard, but they are definitely not easy. 4 tests with around 80 questions each. you can always skip 8 questions. A is for those who really studies. Do Not Take Anything for Granted! Study!
Class is interesting. Professor is clear in teaching. His exams are HARD and CONFUSING. It's a lot of reading and memorizing. He is not easy to reach; doesn't have time to talk unless you walk with him to his office. He is a great professor but very hard class, so much material to learn in one semester. Not an easy A.
Fascination lectures. Makes the material genuinely interesting so studying isn't dreadful like most other classes. Wouldn't necessarily call is "easy", but if you really care, you will get an A.
One of the best professors there are! I took his intro to Psych hybrid and it was an easy A. You can easily get away with attendance, tests and hw were easy (everything was from the book) and when I did stay for the lectures they were always interesting.
I took his class a few semesters back and it was his first time teaching Abnormal PSY in a while. He is passionate about teaching about this course, but he was not organized enough to finish what he planed for. He is sometimes funny and inspirational but sometimes unclear. Expects lots of reading. It is not the most difficult but not an easy class.
The best psychology professor. If you do the readings and test well, you get an easy A. He's very clear and easygoing.
I took his class a few semesters ago. He is passionate about teaching about this course, but he was not organized enough to finish what he planed for. He is funny and inspirational but sometimes unclear. Expects lots of reading. It is not the most difficult one but not an easy class. I think it is hard to reach him for help.
Took the hybrid so i basically learned the whole textbook through the online homeworks and exams. The class was very interesting to go to since he tried to make the entire class more interested in psychology, which worked out since I decided on minoring in psychology after taking his intro class.
I loved this hybrid Abnormal Psych class with Professor Sitt. We only met once a week and had a LOT of online work, but it's really not hard and as long as you're disciplined and just get it done before the due date, you're all set. He will not change dates for anyone, so just get everything in on time. Overall, great hyrid class experience!
Avoid if possible. He is a GPA killer I had about an 80 average and I got a D+ because I was absent 1 .5 classes over the limit
Professor Sitt is by far one of the best professors I've had so far. I took his PSY 1001 hybrid class. All of the homework and exams were online, so it was an easy A. The class only met once a week, but he made his lectures very interesting and informative. He's very interactive with the students
Took the hybrid. Easy A as long as you know how to read a textbook and take notes.. Lectures interesting but useless to the course. Read book, copy notes, take test. Don't skip attendance or you will lose a letter grade.
He reads off the slides that are from the hw due the night before. But he is interesting and tries to make his lesson appealing to his students by calling them out to participate in conversation. There are weekly quizzes/hws and 3 online exams. 5 research credit hours required. I missed an exam passed the deadline and he gave me a 2nd chance.
I loved this class. Professor taught us mediation techniques and the readings we had were interesting. Every single class was really fun and participation is a must if you want to learn anything.
Took his hybrid course and is useless. Teach a chapter after we finished the corresponding chapter HW. Att. is mandatory. Exams are online but it's timed. However, you can search for the answers. Not recommended if you want to minor/major in PSY because you are basically teaching yourself!
Overall an easy A class. Grades are based on the online assignments and exams. Answers can be found online. Professor is nice. Lectures are interesting.
Classes felt a bit unorganized. He is very nice through and cares about students. Alot of on line homework. Would take me hours to complete. Two exams.
not exactly an easy A, but not hard either. its hybrid, but everything graded is based off of what you submit online. he just takes off points for excess absences. almost everything can be found online/on quizlet, you just have to look for it. if you actually read the chapters i'm sure it would be even easier to get an A.
He is not a bad person, but his lectures are a little boring. He barely goes over the textbook and shows some interesting videos. Instead of textbook works, he holds class discussions (not for grade) and asks us about everyday life regarding the material. It's a hybrid, so it is easy to cheat. Don't suggest taking if want to actually learn.
The greatest psych teacher.. he's literally the coolest. Really engaging and gets your mind going. Highly recommend you take his course, only thing is you have to really stay on top of your online chapters. It gets annoying sometimes but very helpful!
Easy A if you read the textbook.
Great professor. I really enjoyed his class. In addition, he's just a great individual who wants the best for his students. Show up, participate, and read the book and you'll be just fine.
Definitely one of the best professors at Baruch who actually cared to make a difference in other lives for the better. I learned so much in this class, all his hw and classwork is online, had two 100 question online exams, and group projects which were great. Really enjoyed this class.
All hw and tests are completed online, insanely easy to get an 100 on them all if you read the textbook. Great professor who cares about teaching and wants to make a difference in people's lives. Class is fun and lectures are interesting. Be prepared to do a lot of homework, would definitely take again.
Easy A
Class is a hybrid so there is definitely online homework. Exams are online as well so just read and you're good. He experimented with a psych challenge this semester so rather than just reviewing what we read in class, we did something more engaging. He cares more about doing something meaningful and doesn't go the typical way for teaching.
I loveeee this teacher he was very entertaining. Had a big lecture class I wish it was smaller for a more personal experience but it's fine. I really enjoy how he taught the class, I would recommend but it's very homework heavy so stay on top of that.
Great professor. I took a hybrid class so most of the learning was done at home, but the lectures were incredibly interesting and informative. Definitely recommend.
Just one semester long project, weekly connect quizzes/learnSmart lessons, and 3 in-class multiple choice & T/F exams. Pretty straight-forward and the professor is super flexible and down to earth. The project can seem tedious at some point, but trust me - it's really helpful!!! The professor is caring and shares real-life experiences/expertise.
2 exams covers 5-6 chapters per exam. 2 IL, 1 LS, and quiz due every week. But he drops 2 IL and 1 quiz and LS grade at the end of the semester. This was a hybrid class so that explains why there is a lot of hw. Lectures were mostly videos showing real life examples of psychological disorders you read about in the textbook.
Exams are all in class now and makes us go to class an extra day even though its Hybrid.
Very test heavy. I took this course as a hyprid and it was hard. First exam was 60+ questions , second exam was online, and the final was 88 questions. He let you skip 6-8 questions on the in class exam but you have to learn 7+ chapters by hard. If you want an easy A, this isnt it.
He changed his policy 1st and Final Exam are now in class. Except the midterm which is online. Who knows he might decide to make all his exams to be in class. Tbh interesting lectures only take if you have a passion to learn PSY not for an easy A.
Constantly changes things and is unclear about expectations I had a terrible experience in class and is a very hard grader
I really enjoyed his lectures. He gave great examples for each concept and showed videos to help you remember them. He allows you to skip a certain number of questions for each test as his way of curving. Connect assignments for each chapter that are not difficult at all. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this class/professor. I would take him again!
I love professor Sitt! He makes the lectures extremely interesting and understandable after a heavy night of reading the textbook. His exams are really straight-forward too. Just study off his powerpoints and you will do amazing in this class. He really taught me stuff that will stick with me for the rest of college about psychology.
Professor Sitt is one of the best psychology professor I have seen. I took his class during my senior year and learned a great deal from him. I just wish I had taken all my PSY classes with him because he puts his heart in teaching and is really cares about his students. You cannot regret taking him.
the professor gives out one exam, one midterm, and one final. there is about 80 through 100 questions for each exam so prepare really well. the teacher does allow us skip 9 questions because he doesn't give curves. the professor's lecture is interesting and fun to learn. there is a lot of homework per week
Prof. Sitt is great. Always knew what was expected of him. The TA was also very informative. Prof. Sitt is constantly looking out for his students and really takes student suggestions to heart and does what he can to help every students. Take him if you have the option!
optional attendance for lectures. lecture relates to textbook. considered suggestions well. test went from 100 questions to 80 after suggestion. He+TA are nice. likes to chat & answer questions. mostly on connect and textbook. two days a week for assignments which includes includes learnsmart (at least 60 questions), quizzes, videos, and short hw.
I could have entirely used the online textbook and learned everything, but the lectures were great to hear and a good opportunity to clarify anything you were confused about. The material was comprehensive and easy to understand. There is homework and asynchronous quizzes every week but it wasn't difficult.
Really good to take online. The tests and quizzes are found on quizlet. The lectures are not boring at all. Read the textbook for tests. It was open book for us.
Great Professor, honestly one of my favorite classes. You will learn a lot of interesting things, and this class is pretty simple, do your work and study for the exam, should be an easy A.
Homework is through Connect. Every week we have textbook reading (learn smart), interactive learning, and an asynchronous quiz. There were 3 exams in total (not accumulative) and they were open textbook (still have to study though). We only met once a week and his lectures are super interesting. I looked forward to his class every week.
He is a great guy. Lots of reading and homework but it is not hard. Gives extra credit. Exams are open book but there's lots of information, still need to study. Easy A as long as you do your work and know the material. This class would open your eyes. Take this professor.
Pretty easy class. Textbook reading and corresponding assignments were all on mindtap and lectures are pretty interesting, but theyre not mandatory and you have a good chance at an A even without attending them. Tests are also on mindtap, similar to the reading questions, and there are always extra practice questions to help study.
If the class is completely online, he is fine. But his class is hybrid, we only meet in person when we take the exam. Can you imagine that the exam is not open book? He is so strict. Exam like PSY is not open book. He barely teaches you things. SOOOOO, don't take him. He will ruin your gpa.
This was supposed to be a Hybrid class. He had asynchronous meetings and we met only once to take a test. The test was a ridiculous amount of questions to do in an hour. The average on the test was a 70. Its a lot of textbook reading and pre recorded lectures. If I wouldve known I wouldve selected another professor because this was terrible.
he's sooooo. bad. You basically you TO TEACH YOURSELF everything through connect. I fail both test and never got the test back to see what my mistakes were. 66 multiple choice and you could skip 6 questions. Never did reviews or helped us i don't understand how he's a teacher.
if the class is hybrid, do not take him! he doesn't teach anything, everything is asynchrounis. you onle meet up for tests. his tests are so long and hard and it's not open book. he also doesn't give exams back to check them. and he gives so much assignments to do asynchronously with non flexible due dates!
Professor Sitt is great! First ever professor that I had who opened up class with music and energy to get us excited. There is homework every week that consists of a reading w/ questions, and a mini quiz. There are two exams and a final that we took in person. His lectures are just reiterations of what you were supposed to read during the week.
Class was hybrid, wasn't too bad. Weekly assignments that only took 1-2 hours. Lecture was online so didn't need to go but tests in person. If you actually do the homework's, you should do fine on the tests. It's memorization, which is basic for any psych course. Even if you get like a 70-80 on tests, the other grades will help you out.
He didn't teach us anything. We self taught. All he did is post previous lecture videos. Such wasting money on this class.
I enjoyed his class even though most of it was online. If you like doing asynchronous work and reading textbooks then definitely take this class. His lectures were interesting too. You learn a lot about the psychology word.
We used tophat; at first we were assigned huge chapters 130+ MCQs, later he adjusted it somewhat. Lots of reading. His lectures WEREN'T helpful; he was using tophat's slides (not his own) & he often improvised to explain subject matter. Unorganized with tests, each was very different. Review sheet didn't help. Tons of requirements to pass. Just GL!
50% 2 midterms and final, 50% reading, and HW. +5 points of Sona surveys. Top Hat was a total mess. Professor could have covered more concepts but just brushed off a lot of topics even though we had time. The first 4-6 weeks were disorganized because of the new system. Professor is very enthusiastic about the subject and knowledgeable.
since we used a new website (tophat) the class was very disorganized at times. the homework contains a lot of readings and the exams were difficult. however, professor sitt is very passionate about this subject and if you take notes and study you'll do fine.
There were a few mix-ups here and there because a new platform, Tophat, was used. Professor Sitt was very understanding and didn't wanna make our lives harder, I just disliked the TAs. The homework may seem like a lot but most of it was on Quizlet. The tests make you study a lot but it's worth the work. He cares about our health, final was online
I took psych with him in winter '23 and it wasn't bad. Yes the material is a lot since it's a winter class but you'll be ok. He used connect for the assignments and lectures which wasn't hard to navigate. There are about
Professor Sitt was an ok professor, the classwork, and homework were online. The first exam was in person, I feel like he does not prepare you enough for the difficulty and the lengths of his exams. Which were the most difficult part of his class. I would take him if you tend do well on exams as he does not curve them.
took Dr.Sitt for positive psychology and it's the easiest A of your life. he makes class so interesting and fun. we get no homework, no final, no big exams, just weekly quizzes (that are 5 questions) based on the textbook and a final video project that was so fun to make and watch. would def recommend taking him.
Class meets once a week, assignments on Connect. Exams are long and multiple-choice (some online). lectures are worth attending; smartbook is due before so students are familiar with the topic in discussion, he goes over the most important. well-constructed course, and clear grading criteria. A good grade is 100% obtainable in his class.
A very fun well respected professor.
honestly so easy going. always made lectures interesting and fun. sometimes he can get off topic and barely talk about the chapter. lots of homework on pearson. we had 3 tests and one final. he does zoom reviews and records and posts them. says what is gonna be on the test or not. allows cheat sheets.
He's honestly one of the coolest lecturers. Super funny and knows how to keep things interesting. The class was kind of homework-heavy 'cause it's hybrid, but if you're on top of it, the exams are a breeze. Three exams make up 52%, and the rest is just chill homework. Easy pass!
This guy David is something else, I got close to a 100 for me final exam (wont say the exact) but the grade he put for me was 85, and when I asked him how come he gives me this grade he does not reply to me. his class is easy af but this finals grade changed my whole view on him
All instructions are clear, provided lots of good real life examples with great details.
Professor Sitt was amazing, his lectures are very interesting. He has a clear grading criteria. You are expected to read if you are taking him as a hybrid class since all the work is online throughout connect. He also does zoom reviews before each exam and post them which was super helpful. Take him!
tests are open-note. very passionate in his lectures. online homework thats not too hard.
Easy A, take it.
Finishing this class now and really enjoyed it! Easy A if you do your work and don't skip class. Open notes tests. No cumulative final.
Easy class. Lectures are just fun discussions, not necessarily needed for the exam. Most of the exam material comes from the textbook. Which he allows u to birng a 1 page cheat sheet to.
Professor Sitt's class is engaging and manageable with open-note tests. The online homework is reasonable, and he provides helpful study resources like Zoom review sessions. I found unstuckstudy ai to be a great supplement too.
Guys good luck
Short classes, lots of homework
its ok but TAs are garbage, class is fine tho you can get an A but TAs just quit your job if your seeing this
Professor Sitt is fun and energetic. His class are easy, even though attendance is lowkey mandatory. My class was long but it rarely got boring. The homework on connect are kinda long (especially the smartbooks). Overall, great professor you should take him.
too much homework then the exams are very long with 70 multiple-choice and not enough time to finish good thing to use a cheat sheet which is only 1 page there are 4 huge chapters but it is still a lot to put in one piece of paper. He uses lots of examples to examine and confuse the options. His lecture is also boring.
Great lectures, very engaging. Easy homework.
Dr. Sitt is an amazing professor! I enjoyed going to his lectures and doing the assignments. Yes, there's a lot of homework but it's manageable. Three exams and you're permitted to use a cheat sheet. That being said, if you don't have passion, or you're just lazy, try alternatives. You'll really get a lot out of this class if you're motivated!
cool guy, syllabus is clear, tests are easy
He allows cheat sheets on exams, super nice teacher and interactive with students! The lectures were actually interesting
Quizzes & Assignments were online, dropped lowest 2 in each category except exams. You could bring cheat sheet to exams. Amazing lectures, caring, inspirational, interesting. Overall, great professor, makes psych interesting. Take him
Got an A. Thanks to P*b*o for the cheat sheets! Do well on all the Connect assignments, do the SONA, and have detailed cheat sheets to get an A.
Amazing professor, kept his lectures interesting had some cool stories throughout the semester. Actual course isn't too bad with 3 exams, 60 questions each, allowed a cheat sheet. Quizzes and homework's are online through Connect (which you will need to buy). I didn't study at all but if you want to put in some effort its easily a A or A+
weekly online assignments that were manageable and not difficult. you're also allowed to use a cheat sheet for each exam, so that helps a lot (thank you to pablo for making a cheat sheet for each exam, you helped most of the class) the lectures could be boring at times, but other then that it should be an easy passing grade.
He allows you to bring a single cheat sheet to an exam! TA's are super helpful! Sometimes the lectures can feel repetitive, but I definitely enjoyed listening to Dr Sitt's life stories he shared with us. Take advantage of office hours because it really can help boost your grade!
Lectures were good but a bit repetitive since they mostly reviewed past readings. Personal stories made them more engaging, though. The TAs were super helpful and attentive. Sitt lets you use a cheat sheet (front and back) on every exam, which is helpful. Overall, he's really chill and easygoing.
took his async winter PSY1001 class. he uses a proctoring feature on Connect for all 3 exams that locks down ur computer. there's a mandated textbook ($70) very heavy readings with 3-5 assignments per reading. it's do-able if you have ALOT of free time. took him cuz he has a high rating but now I'm not sure why he does...okay I guess
Took psychopathology with him asynchronously over the winter session. It's a lot of work every week, but it's to be expected when you sign up for a three week class.. extra credit, two exams, smartbook and homework with each chapter. Smartbook was long and annoying (1-2 hours) but it's easy and everything is in the textbook. Got an A, take him!
The lectures were for basically reviewing textbook readings and to explain concepts in an easier manner if we had questions. His exams are all multiple choice and can use a cheat sheet. The TA's did a excellent job of answering emails ASAP and they are very understanding of circumstances. Overall, good class as long as you're ready for assignments.
He's a fun professor, but his homework is way too much. The stuff he teaches in class doesn't even come close to what's on the homework. If you want to pass his class, forget about the lectures and focus more on the homework.
This guy has lost it. Don't fall for t
I don't know how he has so many 5 star rating, he is extremely harsh, doesn't care if you do well or not. His exams 70+ questions no extra credit. A lot of hw with a lot of chapter reading a day. If u have enough free time take him. But he's just bad. No sympathy for his students. A girl failed bc he didn't want to give her a .6 extra point to pass
Don't take this class unless you got time to really prioritize it, I thought it would be fine since it's an intro class but I was wrong. NO EXTRA CREDIT, terrible “curve” on exams, and once your final grade is set there's no changing it. he doesn't care
If you have enough time to study, you can take this class. Otherwise, it's overwhelming, too much pressure with weekly homework, quizzes, assignments, and mandatory research. The exams are really hard (70+ questions in 75 minutes), and I feel like the professor doesn't care about students. I really felt upset about taking his class. Don't take him!
First u have to buy a 70 dollar McGraw hill book which is already a red flag. You have to do research studies which is mandatory. But the worst is the exams. 60 plus questions on 6 long chapters. You could bring a cheat sheet but only one piece of paper which isn't enough obviously for 6 chapters. No curve or extra credit at all.
Never recommend!!!!
Everyone complaining is dramatic. Tests are based on four chapters and cover exactly what is in the textbook. Homework can be tedious, but this is college! Very fair class and professor.
Avoid at all costs if you don't want to get a horrible test grade. 60 plus questions for a class thats like 75 minutes long and 4 long chapters for each test. Too many notes to take and things to remember for an introduction course.
This class is way too hard for an intro course. Readings are super long, lectures are boring, and the exams barely match the homework or notes. He allows a 1 page cheat sheet for every exam. Even with a cheat sheet and days of studying, the tests are confusing and unfair. I worked hard and still struggled. Would not recommend this professor.
Lots of reading and self studying, but it is an asynch class. Homework took so long because of the smartbook assignments but it is easy. Exams are fair, study and you will get an A. Would take him again for another psy class.
class wasnt so bad, he was an ok proffesor. There is a lot of homework and you do have to study a lot on your own. the tests have a lot of material at once so beware when having to study.
For a basic psy course it was too much, i mean exam is 65 questions, and majority of learning is coming from the textbook and the assignments. He does provide a cheet sheet. Plus his class is mandatory. Overall hes not bad its just alot of work for a starter psy course. Take him if its your last resort. Overall okay course
Easy A, and great professor. The class is easy to follow and workload is manageable. HW on connect are easy and 3 tests total (cheat sheet allowed) Would definitely recommend
Tough class with lots of Connect homework every week. Exams are based on the textbook with 60 confusing questions. Cheat sheets don't help much, there's barely time to read them. Taking attendance for a 500 people class is insane, his Lectures doesn't help much, be prepared to self-study if you want to do well.
Very easy and interesting class. All the homework and quizzes are online, though they can be tedious. There are only 3 exams that you can bring a double sided cheat sheet to. Exams are straightforward and if you use a cheat sheet, it's impossible to get a bad grade.
Mandatory attendance, tests are 65 mc questions with so much material to study its hard to get a good grade on that, a good amount of homework on mcgraw hill but its easy at least, and you need to do research on the side which is extra work that counts. Overall for an intro psychology course its a lot but the tests is what brings it down for sure.
Thanks to this gentleman I screwed up my GPA. Took him for Spring 2025, this is the worst class that I have had throughout my college career so far. 1 hour to answer 65 questions on the test, he does not curve the grade, does not provide extra credit opps, which means you have to be on top of things from the first lecture. Avoid at all costs.
It was an ok class, can't say I learned much. It's basically a lot of connect assignments - that's really it. You don't interact with the professor really at all. Good if you want a quick and easy pass.
Decently tough course with homework at the end of every class that you must complete, lots of readings and long exams (around 60-65 MCQ's, plus a cheatsheet if you want). But besides that, seems like a very nice guy and definitely knows what he's talking about. For an asynchronous class, it's a lot of self-studying too but definitely worth taking.
Made the class engaging for such a large lecture hall. HW's are not time consuming. Make sure to practice questions, memorize terms and you'll be solid.
BIG LECTURES EVEN THOUGH THEY DONT MATTER, JUST SHOW UP GET THROUGH THE READINGS AND STUDY
L dont take him
ehh, would not take it again but you know how it is with block schedule. The lecture is fine for a large class, he can be passionate sometimes but most times boring. The materials and homework are heavy considering this is a 101 class. the good things with this class is that he allow study sheet into exams.
The homework is so long and annoying. Tests are somewhat difficult. Lectures are boring but the professor does his best to make it interesting.
this guys lectures are useless but he wants you to be engaged, honestly shouldve just been online but attendance is mandatory as well as lateness counts. gives 3 exams and the homework is goddamn long takes up a whole hour I hated it. class was very boring. also you have to complete the research requirement 100% mandatory! barely had any good luck
huge class, gave very annoying long homeworks, and a mandatory researxh req that never offered any times, tests were not so bad because he allows a sheet. lectures were long, should be online class, but does his best to get the students attention.
good guy, easy class but the hw is annoying
Hw is simple but annoying. Tests allow cheat sheet and are straight forward. His lectures get interesting too.
