good examples of problems...explains stuff very clear. make sure you do your homework and you should do fine. he is also kinda funny. very smart.

He is very nice and a good teacher but the tests are EXTREMELY hard. He tells you what all is on the test but somehow I always failed them. If you study every night and have a tutor you might do ok in this class.

He did a good job of capturing my interest for the class. Compared to UGA "professors" he was extremely helpful and was available frequently for office hours or by appointment. I agree that the tests are extremely hard, and I preformed poorly on them, but he does tell you what to expect.

Enthusiastic teacher, loves math. Form a study group and do some of the suggested homework from the book and you'll be alright. Some of his tests are hard, and some questions are easy...just the nature of math.

****zky is very excited to teach this class, so it is never boring. The class is very structured and tests are average, he does not always choose the hardest examples of everything. Study groups help, and just do the practice problems he gives

mr. ****sky is the man. he loves math and is nerdy so he keeps it funny. he definitely keeps the classes interest. sometimes he will speak over your head but he teaches on powerpoints and puts them online. i do hw and study off of them. he doesnt try to trick you on tests. very good. im taking him again!

Pretty good teacher. If you don't pick up on math easily, I don't suggest you take his class, though. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you get points added to your final grade for everyday you show up. Not a hard class, do your homework and at least look over suggested problems and you should do fine. Tests can be hard, but are doable.

I found Professor ****zky to be an excellent math teacher!! His power point presentations used to present material is exceptional. If you are willing to put in the time to study, and you complete all of the assignments you should do well in his class. Dave was always very willing to offer help when I went to him during office hours!!!

He is pretty challenging, but you CAN pass. In fact, I made an A in his class. A lot of people expect their classes to be easy. College is not supposed to be easy. If you're looking for an easy math teacher, he is not the one. He's ALWAYS willing to help and very into math. He puts all of his notes online which helps a LOT. I liked him.

I really liked this professor! Although, at times I thought he over explained things, which made him difficult to understand. He is very helpful, and wants his students to ask questions. Sometimes the work he had us do was difficult, but it really helped me understand the material. I recommend taking his class!

Bonus for attendance.Projects hard you get to use your notes. H/W on My Math Lab easy to have a 100 H/W avg. Taught for over 20 years. Very smart man but when you ask him a question he answers with a question which is very unhelpful. However, he does help through email. Test are ridiculously hard! I study for hours and still failed them all!

David's an amazing teacher. Very bright and engaging. If you show effort and make time for the work, he will help you to the best of his ability to understand the material. My favorite teacher ever.

Dr. Slutzky really is a good professor. Gives you worksheets for every class to guide you through the material and has good teaching methods. His tests are very difficult and you absolutely have to practice the material outside of class or you will do poorly on the tests. If your taking him for calc, be prepared for a real college class.

If you are good at math--you will enjoy and pass this class. I am NOT good at math, I never have been and he was extremely patient with me. I'm an english major, so he gave me a different way to look at the material, through words. People say bad things about him because he is a hard teacher, but he is extremely willing to help you pass.

Anyone saying he is too hard or doesn't care is just a whiny crybaby. He will help you if you go to him during his office hours. no he doesn't give extra credit, that's not something you should expect, do your work, come to class, and pay attention and you will do FINE. I HATE math and i got a 105 on the first test.

Grades on participation, attendance, and 4 tests + final exam. Takes problems from HW and uses on tests. Puts notes from class PPT online. Optional essay for daily points - DO IT. Sarcastic, but certainly not mean. Don't let these negative reviews deter you from taking him. Tough class, but he DOES help students. Made a D because I didn't work hard

Be prepared for his Pre-Calculus class! He defiantly knows what he is talking about but you WILL have to spend a lot of time studying and understand all the material to get a decent grade. Not a recommended class to those who don't pick up math quickly, he tends to fly though chapters.

Very hard class, but explains how to solve problems very clearly. you have to work hard but a good grade is doable.

Good Teacher....it's just a tough subject. You MUST study. He gives you a Daily grate that he averages in with your tests to get your final grade. Daily grade included web assign and attendance, so you must do homework and come to class. His tests are hard, but he includes 5 extra points You must really know material to finish his tests though.

He is a great professor and has everything planned from the beginning. He will give hard exams and the no forgiveness policy is what every professor should have since it is ones job to do the work on time. He will help you if you ask him. He will help any way he can. He will not spoon feed though. The grade requires you to work.

He does not move on unless you understand. So, ask questions if you don't get it. His tests are worth more than 100 points (so every test has bonuses). If you are willing to learn and do the work expected of you, you will pass. If you like to whine about homework, you should go back to high school.

The material itself is tough, regardless of the professor. It is a lot of material to remember and recall on the test. A lot of integral parts to Precalculus. That being said, he is by far the best professor there is. He can be a little strange, but he will not move on unless every understands. Just have to make sure he knows you don't understand.

He is a PHENOMENAL professor! He cares about his students and LOVES math. He doesn't give homework but he expects you to do work outside of class in order to better understand the material. The material isn't very easy but the way he teaches helps it be more understandable. I absolutely love this guy.

He is a true under appreciated hero of the teaching profession. He uses a points earned system that gives you far more opportunities to earn points than a traditional average system. I never did any of the optional homework, did not get the textbook, only attended class about 80% of the time and still managed to get an A with strong tests.

He is an amazing teacher! He made me enjoy math for the one semester I took him. Learning is on you with lots of practice problems for homework, but is very open to answer any questions and makes sure you understand. There are 3 tests and one makeup exam. Just be sure to ask for reclarification on the makeup exam.

He was a great teacher and he seemed to genuinely care about all of his students. I would absolutely take another class with him, and I would recommend any other student do the same. He makes himself available so that students can get help if they need it, and I really appreciated him.

This guy is an amazing teacher, easy to approach and talk to, and is so much fun in class. He explains math super well and makes it easy to understand. He genuinely cares about each student and is ready to answer questions and help you in every way he can. His tests are really straightforward and fair. Definitely take his class.

He was a good professor. He explains the material well and has helpful PowerPoints which he uploads with the class notes after each class. He cares about the students and doesnt mind taking extra time to explain things. His tests are challenging but there is a re-take available and other opportunities to earn points toward your grade.

If you don't care about school and would rather party, then don't take this class. I took his pre calc class and a bunch of kids expected it to be college algebra. He does not give you anything he makes you work for it. This is how it should be. It's college, not high school. I would not consider myself smart and I pulled an A because I worked hard

Great professor! Yet, the hardest professor there. Worked with me a lot. I studied very, very hard in order to make the grade I wanted. Gives you guided notes and updates grades regularly on d2l. You should work the problems he does in class, not the ones in the textbook for studying because the textbook is too easy.

If you're taking lower level maths like algebra or precalc I would recommend possibly finding another teacher. (Unless you are really passionate about math) His class is challenging, but not impossible. You absolutely have to be there every day and review the class notes instead of the textbook when preparing for a test!

All in all he is a good teacher although I would not recommend taking this class if math is not your subject. He explains everything really well but he doesn't assign homework which is really terrible if you are not self disciplined enough to do it on your own, like me. Lots of extra credit given but isn't added in till you take the final.

Does a good job of starting with the basics before progressively working into the more difficult concepts. He genuinely cares about his students' success, and he gives us all the resources we need to succeed: pre-recorded video lessons and live lectures, fill-in-the-blank note sheets, and timely email responses. Doesn't grade hard. Good professor.

He is a phenomenal teacher, extremely personable, eloquent, genuine, dorky, and a lot of fun. He is patient and understanding, always willing to help a struggling student, but clear that you must meet him halfway with a solid work ethic. If you're confused, go see him. You'll find him warm and kind but also direct and honest.

Professor Slutzky is not the typical professor. PLEASE take time to get to know him. He can come across as tough and uncaring, but nothing could be further from the truth. He cares deeply for all students. Go to office hours too; he is amazing there. He expects YOU to engage with him. The more you get to know him the more you will enjoy his class!

Direct approach. If you put in the time, your grade will be fair.
