David is the best instructor I've ever had! He is very professional, helpful and easygoing with. Classes with him are full of FUN and joy. Highly recommended to take both his Photoshop classes. You won't regret. I'm much more advance in the program than before. Much more!!!

About as organized in his teaching as it is possible to be. I learned much about PhotoShop, and I'm amazed at how easy it was for me. The class is demanding, but the teacher makes it possible to learn with out unnecessary anxiety.

Dave brought great energy to this clas. NOT EASY IF YOU DON'T PRACTICE! Lots of homework but it was great. Very helpful and I still use the workbook as my cheatsheet when I do my own graphic work. It was unfortunate that I was overwhelmed that semester and lagged behind my homework. He was very patient though. Would have gotten an A otherwise.

One of the best at CCSF. Excellent instructor. Knowledgeable, well-prepared, friendly, easy going, respectful. Class very well organized and structured. You must have some previous knowledge of Photoshop to get the most out of this class. I would take as many classes as possible with this guy. He was great.

Loved his class. He's cute and funny. The time flies by because he's interesting and then gives you time to work on what he has taught. Great at helping and easy to get his attention. Everyone I talked to in the class loved him.

He is Great!! He teaches fast,so if u don't have any skill on PS,it would be little harder,but he will teach u one by one if u need help. Quiz every lesson before start the class,actually it's a review of last lesson.The Midterm & Final are from all these quizzes. I found that he grades by our Quiz not the HW which helps for our understanding only.

Dave's insightful and clearly focused course feedback forms show how much he cares about the quality of the course. Midterm & final exam help you understand the content. The reader is great - but I fell into the trap of following the step-by-steps. If you put the effort into the class, you'll have excellent projects to show for it (he'll help!).

Dave is über-popular. His classes are wait listed for a reason. Be patient, he tries to get you in. He's top notch in his knowledge and engaging. Lots to learn, keep up with the homework and quizzes, and you'll get your A. Unfortunately, I'm at the end of the number of classes I can take with him. Wish he had other classes! I'd take them all!

Awesome class, great teacher! Make sure you come to each class on time and do your weekly homework otherwise you will fall behind. I learned a lot in a very short amount of time. I don't recommend taking this class over summer session since they cram all of it into one month.

I was initially not impressed but as the class progressed and his instruction showed his discerning mind. I thought OMG! This Professor is not only smart but funny, a flair for charm not to mention extremely knowledgeable. Understand this is not an easy class, lots to cover but you learn to love what you are doing. My hat is off to this Professor !

Fast-pase lectures are very straight forward and to the point. Instructor always answers questions and gives all students a choice of early-leaving after a lecture or staying for extra 2 hours of lab work where he helps individually with ALL questions that you have. FIts all: fast and slow learners. Will try to take this teacher for future classes.

Great teacher. Very mellow. Easy grader, but expect to be marked down when you make obvious mistakes. Would take a class with him again.

Dave is super organized and keeps the class on track - doesn't waste time so we were able to cover a lot of material in the allotted time. Sometimes I thought the material in the lecture was covered too quickly but he was always there to answer questions during the lab time so I learned to appreciate that he covered the material quickly.

I really liked this class. David is very thorough, and always available for questions after lecture.

Now doing VMD 154

The course is practical designed with elegant exercises to work with, Professor David is an excellent instructor to give eloquent instruction with creative mind, making learn photoshop become so much fun and most enjoyable class among my design classes.

Lessons were always clear and concise and I never felt like there was material I didn't understand. Tests designed to make you think about previous weeks as opposed to rote memorization. Very funny guy with an amazing portfolio which will inspire you. Put cats in your projects for brownie points.

David made his class an event. You entered to music and got to experience the work of your peers last assignments on the screen. He is a photoshop junkie of the first and finest class. Really knows his stuff. He has a great personality and clearly wanted to be there to help people. I would have added extra credit assignments.

Most work is done in class

this class did not seem like class full of tons of great projects you can use outside of class. Have small projects to learn different applications such as photoshop, indesign, flash and a few more. GEART TEACHER. VERY HELPFUL!

Dave is an amazing instructor! Lectures are energetic, on point and exciting. Assignments are very practical for real-world scenarios and include all possible areas from creative portrait retouch to interface and product mock-ups. Dave is very supportive to all levels and keeps up with innovations in Photoshop world. Take his class!

Very clear lectures that are quick and efficient. I always knew where I was and what we were doing. He made it a pleasure to learn photoshop, and I highly recommend him.

Great teacher, very clear and spot on. All you need to do is to pay attention to his lectures and ask questions after his lecture are finish (but you shouldn't need to because all the answers will be answered from the homework assignments). By the end of his class you will know alot about photoshop as long as you pay good attention to him.

David Stevenson is an awesome teacher! I enjoy his teaching style and he isn't out to get you like some teachers. He plays music during lab time such as trip hop, jazz, ambient music, which allows you to get into that creative work mode. I just wish he would bring his cats with him, but work wouldn't get done if he did. Meow.

Good course, great teacher!

Very helpful and very clear instructor. I absoultly loved his teaching method which was helping you teach yourself. This method allowed for me to absorb the content a lot better than if it was simply lecture format. Has a lot of patience for someone like me who was completely new to the subject.

If you are a literal learner, expect to spend a lot of time outside of class in the lab. If you are a quick learner, you'll get your projects done in class. You must attend all classes to keep up as each class averages four assignments due the next class. Even then, use the lab to keep caught up. Send questions when perplexed; he'll answer.

David is helpful, fun, inspirational and he has a clear grading criteria. The class is hilarious.

It's obvious David put a lot of prep into this class himself, finding the most helpful info and good examples for us to review in class, & good class projects. He encourages us to email him with our questions and is quick to respond to our inquiries. He's patient and really encouraging and supportive, & makes a tough class enjoyable. Super teacher!

Great intro class for all things Adobe. I'd definitely recommend taking this course. The tests are also easy if you just pay attention.

great teacher vary helpful

Dave was super funny and personable, and explained the material very clearly and in a way that kept me engaged. A lot of the projects allow for a good amount of creative freedom, which I really enjoyed. Missing class isn't the biggest deal, as long as you make up the assignments you missed by/during the next class as homework is done in class.

Great teacher, I have taken two classes with him and have always been exited to walk into class. charismatic and lover of cats, i always keep an eye out for Steven's name when searching for VMD classes.

Easy Class

I was probably overqualified for this class technically but it was a prerequisite for certain VMD classes. But give that, Dave does a good job demystifying the website workflow utilizing process, preplanning, collaboration and his feedback. Essential in how to think and plan yourself through the website creation process. Dave is very positive.

Dave offers challenging assignments that enable us to put into practice what is demonstrated in lectures. He always finds useful, inspiring outside resources for us. He's fair in grading & willing to help each one be successful with assignments. Our active participation in class is encouraged and appreciated. Can get good grades if you do the work.

Great Professor! Lectures were a bit strong for the little time we had and without handouts was a bit hard to keep all the information he provides. Fun assignments. You never get bored and he keeps you active with many projects.

His class schedule is just sometimes elusive (read:daytime) while my availability is after 5PM. But nevertheless, he is one of a kind, he has a big heart for others (students). I had a hard time in Photoshop 1 being as I'm more abled in Illustrator, but Dave's instructions and assignments were well thought out. I actually had a pretty easy and good time working on each assignment. I would 10/10 take another class with him.

David goes above-and-beyond to provide online resources that are super relevant in real world practice alongside course materials. At times overwhelming with labs and homework that can honestly be completed without it it is organized in a digestible manner. Keep up with the readings and you'll walk away with a more well-rounded experience.

I've taken VMD 154 and VMD 105 with Dave. Both were online. Dave is awesome! He responds very quickly if you have any questions or concerns. Easy to follow and to the point with his lectures!

I would take every one of his classes. He's funny + creates really fun assignments that are challenging + informative. I fell behind a number of times during the semester for things beyond my control... but Dave never made me feel guilty + would boost me up when I submit something. Course layout is easy to follow. Best online class I've ever taken.

If you have a chance to take an online class with Dave Stevenson, TAKE IT! I just finished the Photoshop 1 class and I am sad that it's over. The course was incredibly well-organized, the lectures and assignment instructions were clear and concise, the discussion boards were fun to participate in and the projects were great. 5/5 Would Take Again.

Professor Stevenson is an instructor who's lesson plans and learning objectives made sense. I feel that I have a solid foundation with Photoshop as a result.

Great professor! He does his best to encourage students and replies to everyone in the discussion, also responds to emails quickly. There are 2 weekly assignments and 1 weekly discussion. One thing that I hope I knew before I signed up is that Adobe is mandatory.

For professor difficulty, I selected very easy. That does not mean the class is very easy, it's about an average difficulty as long as you keep up and go through the given material. The rating just meant that the professor is easy to work with and responds promptly and effectively whenever I had an issue.

David's online class was fairly easy. Being online, it's easy to do on your own time. He provides a PDF lecture which is very simplified as well as video lectures. I felt his language leaned a bit fanciful when it can be more simplified but other than that, the exercises were clear and concise and helpful when creating each sections challenge file.

Dave is just great and VMD105 is perfect as an introduction to PS, Illustrator, Animate, ID and HTML/CSS. The assignments take time each week but they are tailor made for helping to understand how each product works in enough depth to enable your creativity to shine. The discussions were also very helpful and Dave provides near instant feedback.

The lectures are very detailed and easy to understand. The learning process is gradual and suitable for beginners. The challenge projects are a lot of fun and creative. The teacher responds quickly to doubts and always provides feedback.

This class has been absolutely fantastic! The professor's teaching style is exceptional, making the material easy to understand and enjoyable to learn. Their passion for Photoshop is contagious, and it's evident how much they care about our growth and success

Loved this class! He really showed me the basics of photoshop, I had a really good time. I even started to make my own things, and I will definitely use these for my future in graphic design!
