I'm awful at accounting but he was really helpful and the exams were open booked. If you need Acct 311 I'd definitely suggest taking his online course.

He is by far the best accounting teacher at macewan. Its unbelievable how well this guy teaches. He makes even the most complicated stuff so easy. 410 is one of the hardest accounting classes but we got lucky and had an opportunity to learn the course from him. His accent is thick and he can be hard to understand at times, so the textbook is an essential resource. I didn't get too much out of attending the classes, and a few of his slides contained errors. Overall, though, he is a nice and understanding guy. I found the assignments to be long, but the tests were straightforward and very fair.

Had him for 311 and he made concepts easier. Sure he had a heavy accent, but you'll get the hang of it. He does "call out" students who do really well in the class though, which may tick some people off. But he does help you with literally anything and everything. He always advertises his office hours in class. Super helpful prof!

IF you go to him for help he is a good helper. HIs accent is a bit tough to understand at times but if you attend the class he takes that into consideration for your final grade.

He's a really nice prof. Tells you exactly what will be on exams. All you really need to do to get an A is do the practice exams that he posted on BB and read over your notes so that you could have some basic knowledge for the multiple choice part. The best way to take Intro to accounting would be online. You guaranteed to get a good grade in his classes if you are willing to do all the assignments which you will find on myaccountinglab). I was scared to take this class online, especially in the spring considering it's a lot of information and work to put in despite having 2 other classes. However, I seriously enjoyed David's Acct 311 class. He was so helpful and his exams, assignments and everything were really fair. I definitely recommend this prof, online or in class. He's great!

David Sun is a really good guy, he is very knowledgable in his field but may be a bit confusing due to his accent. He uploads great power points and in class exercises and always answers questions and emails in a timely manner. He is also a very fair marker and will boost your mark if he feels you put in the effort. Midterms and finals were fair.

Good teacher, posts great power point slides and in-class examples online. His tests are almost exactly what his posted in class examples are. I only studied his notes, have never opened the text book and have an A. The online "myaccountinglab" is terrible, but that's out of his control and Pearson assignments are always hard/time consuming.

He really cares about the students, email him and within 24 hours he will replay, no matter when. it was a great course to take online, assignments are very close to quizzes and assignments will get you ready for the final. i would take again for sure

I took ACCT 164 in the past summer session. Because it was very intensive course, and you need spend some time on group home work. Instructor always replied to students' email on time even in the mid-night. He is very patient and reasonable grader. Tests were based on home work. I recommend this instructor.

David Sun is a chinese professor and he might have a strong accent however it is understandable and he focused on the main points of eac h lecture. He gave us many practice questions with answers (it's not homework) but you better take a look of them. These questiones is close to the questions that on his exams.

Teacher David is a very caring person and hard worker. He always replies to students' email in 24 hours, even in late evening or on weekend. Course PowerPoint is very clear and after chapter exercises are posted in the Blackboard. What we got tested in the exams were reflected on the class exercises. He is hilarious and supportive.

He is a very helpful and caring professor! Replied to my emails within a couple hours each time (I emailed him a lot regarding questions around midterms and finals). You definitely need to work for your grades- but it's Acct 316 so that's expected. Do all his recommended practice problems and you'll be fine!

I took David for ACCT 111. You have to study hard to pass this course but David is ready to help you outside class as well. He appreciates you coming to class. Go to class, study what he teaches and you will pass this course easily. Using textbook is helpful to understand concepts.

My only complaint is David has a reputation of not giving anyone 100% on that group budget project, my team and I tried super hard to prove a point but ended up getting 96% other than that the Exam was brutal as in long not hard. (This is coming from a non-accounting major).

Dr Sun is a great prof! We had to take class online and from the very beginning he showed his support and was ready to help. You can ask him questions and he will be happy to give you those answers. He provides lots of practice tests which really helps down the road. I wish I had more time for this subject. Best of luck!

Of course if you skip class you cant be guaranteed a pass, as David always says! Attending class is always important in every class. He gives good feedback, always answers questions and is very respectable. The assignments are fair and give good feedback based on what you need to study. If you fail his class than maybe you didnt go to lectures?

The course worked well online. Having a large window to complete each quiz was very helpful. The videos walking through some problems from the textbook are incredibly helpful. More instruction or exercises using Excel worksheets would be very beneficial in a course with a huge budgeting project all based on Excel.

honestly great and funny dude. he is a little diffiuclt to understand sometimes and he just reads off slides. exams are easy. although had one midterm that the whole class failed so he had to give us more opportunities to bring are average back up. all exams were online. he treated students with respect.

Great professor, he prepares his students for midterms and finals. The assignments are mostly straight out of the textbook and can be quite long but he gives plenty of time (often about 2 weeks) to complete each assignment. While the assignments are long, it really helps you understand the software in & out.

Prof. Sun makes the material engaging with real-world examples. While exams can be challenging, using resources like Unstuck study alongside the textbook is super helpful for staying on top of the content.

I missed my exam and he was able to help me out even after the final was done amazing prof. Would really suggest taking this prof super chill about grading and all.
