This is a very easy class to pass as long as you have a brain that functions properly. Awesome teacher who actually makes you think outside of your pathetic high school mind. Multiple choice tests with easy answers from whatevers he writes on the board.

I took this class in the hope that i would learn something new about mythology. I didn't. This class was the biggest waste of time ever. Had I known this from the start, I would have either taken a different teacher or dropped the class right away.

His expectations from his students is very high. B/C of this, you have to work hard for his papers. He is a rather touch grader. All this, though, is worth it to take him. His lectures are always very interesting. He is one of my favorite teachers.

Sutton was definitely easy, but my issue didn't come until the end of the semester. For the first paper, he took 5 weeks to get it back to us. For the second paper, he said I had an A on it after looking it over but then gave me a B.

He makes you think about life, not just the books you read in this class. His teaching technique is excellent. He relates to what is happening in our lives. He expects us to think not just sit there and his lectures are very cool. Take him!

Great Teacher. You really learn a lot about life and can apply it. You have 2 exams and a paper and that is it. The exams are all essay written, but are graded on a curve. He is one of my favorite teachers at Valencia. You won't be disapointed!

Mr. Sutton is so awesome. He's my favorite teacher at VCC. He's so nice, helpful, and encouraging. I always look forward to class; the discussions are a lot of fun. I'm taking him this semester and again next semester. After taking his class, i've become so interested in philosophy and psychology :)

Mr. Sutton is an amazing professor. The content covered in his class seems difficult at first but makes so much sense after he breaks it down for you. I took three of his HUM classes and loved all of them. Get engaged with class discussions to get the most out of his class. Easy tests!!

Sutton should be the Dean of the College of Liberal Studies. Swings very far to the left. Other than preaching to the class about his political views, he is actually a great teacher. I got a lot from his class, and would take him again in the future.

Very "Hot" professor. He alone makes you want to go to class. Very smooth talker. His papers are not easy though. He has a specific format and his grading can be a little harsh. But who cares, I learned stuff in that class that I'm still thinking about today (took him in 2001). Besides, he's hot!

Different approach to mythology but overall, many life lessons in his course. Three big essays determine your grade. Good teacher, I would take him again.

Mythology focused on the mythology of life not gods. Class is fun and makes you think. People say teachers make you think but this guy will make you think and change your life. Out look on things is original. Treats you like an equal and will never look down on you.

It's true, when you come out of this class, you will look at life diff. He's so laid back and just wants ppl to enjoy life, only flaw is the 2 essays, you only have 2 grades so you gotta do really good on them. Final is a breeze. They are like 1,000 word essays btw. But great/hot professor!

If you're looking to take a myth class focusing specifically on the Greek Gods and such, this class isn't for you. He applied the theory of mythology to life today. I highly recommend him!

i took him 2 semesters in a row and I have to say that he is my favorite teacher. His classes actually focus more on philosophy even though they are supose to be humantities. I liked going to his class everyday and i never skipped. His grading is a little tough but everyone that did their work bot A's and B's!

He is a really fun guy. Makes sure you understand what he is talking about before he continues with the lesson. Taking his class will also help you out in other classes. He helps you look at things in a ways you never thought of. DEFINATLY take him

WOW! Mr. Sutton changed my outlook on life. We went over Logic which was difficult. However eveything else was much simpiler from then on. I strongly recomend this pro.He was engaging in a phylisopical sense.It was a pleasue going to this class. I took ot once a week for about 3 hours and time would fly by. I give Mr, Sutton an A!He's got my vote!

The only way to fail this course is to try. Teacher works with you and is always available to talk about papers, tests, etc. He presents material objectively and lets us make our own decisions. He encourages us to question things and to make decisions that affect our lives. Isn't that what humanities is all about?

One of the best professors at Valencia, very relexed- almost no work whatsoever, he sums up your total grade with a midterm exam, a powerpoint presentation, an 8 page essay, class participation grade and a final exam. Nothing else! And ladies, if you dig the intelectual type of guy, you're really gonna enjoy yourself. Cheers!

I liked him during class discusion but was frustrated by the assignments and getting a mid term on a book that we didnt spend any time on in class.

I do not know what they are talking about. He is a great teacher and he tells you in his first class that your class participation will count towards your grade. As long as you do the assignments and read it in the class, you will be fine. Also he is very helpful.

An intellectual man if i ever met one. Barely spoke a word about humanities, but the class sure was easy as well as fun. I loved every minute of it, though you must participate if you want a grade. HIs class consisted of logic exercises and a test on it, a power point, a film, a book and a test on it, and a final....nothing else really.

Great teacher as long as you do your homework assignments you should pass, he expanded the way of thinking towards life. One of the best humanities teachers ever!! He will totally open up your mind and ideas to introduce new ones, that you are sure to carry with you the rest of your life. One big essay and your final,and oral report and 10 class participation paragraphs, that's it. His discussions are amazing and will keep you thinking long after class is over.

One of the best teachers I have had at VCC. He relates the entire class to life and makes you start thinking about your own. Not a class where u memorize Gods. The final is multiple choice that he gives you a study guide for. Not an "Easy A" class but if you put forth the effort not a hard A either. Highly recommend this teacher.

I took him for 20th century humanities and thought he was awesome. Homework is graded on completion not necessarily if its right or wrong. One presentation, one paper and a final. he doesn't lecture really it's more of a discussion which makes it much more interesting. Hes personable and a very easy class if you attend.

Awesome Teacher, Interesting Class. Grade based on 4 things: 1 Essay (2000 words), 10 Class Participation, 1 Powerpoint Presentaion and Final Exam. A good amount of reading. BEWARE: A Critical Analysis of People and the World. I ENJOYED THIS CLASS VERY MUCH.

Mr. Sutton is a really great teacher. He encourages his students to think outside the box and stop the standard way of thinking. His homework assignments are comprehensive and his essay is basically a few of the homework assignments with alittle extra material. Great teacher, learn a lot and he teaches you to read for comprehension.

Mr. Sutton was an Awesome teacher. Most of the comments here are right on. He teaches mostly conceptually and not on if you are right or wrong, except of course on tests. There is a Midterm and Final which he gives you word for word a guide to these tests. Learned a lot from class discussions. Highly recommended.

At first I thought he was a bore but as the semester went on I loved to hear him speak. Has a monotone voice that might make u sleepy but wow what a mind! Tests are too easy. Just midterm and final. U NEED the text books! Can not attend class w/o it. Never stressed attendance but school guidelines apply. Recommended. Just not in the morning.

I took him for Enlightenment and Romanticism. This guy made the class interesting and easy to understand. I learned a lot, and made a pretty decent grade. Take him, he knows what he's doing.

He has very interesting ideas on myths and life in general. It's not like a lot of other Mythology classes where you read stories and talk about them. The books for the class are great. The only bad thing is her thinks of himself a little higher than most.

Prof. Sutton is by far one of the best teachers i've had at Valencia! He is not bias but is very informative when it comes to his interpretation of myth and how it relates o the world that we currently live in opposed to mainly focusing on the past. Attendence is a MUST, he will withdrawl you if you miss more then 3 classes. Test are easy.

Prof Sutton is like a walking miricle if u want tools with which to live life hes the man to go to. i have taken 2 of his classes so far and plan to take the rest that he teaches. he is without a doubt THE BEST HUM professor there is out there. anyone whoes said so otherwise is not a commited student, TAKE THIS PROF!

Probably the most interesting class I've taken. Mr. Sutton knows his stuff and his lectures are always interesting and never out of the book (likes to talk over youtube clips). So far everything he has given us to read has been very interesting as well.

This class is really wonderful, I never cared too much when I entered the class but I have learn so many aspect on life from this class. Great teacher, great discussions on subject matters. Lot of writing in this class but it all opinionated but just do the work. Test are easy just study the questions on the study guide and you will make an A.

This is one of the best teachers i have ever had! he is the most interesting man i have met in a long time and he sees things in a different light than most people! he is the dean of his department for a reason thats for sure... try your hardest to get in one of his classes! and he is a cutie

Make sure your faith in God is strong, if not, some of the things the Professor Sutton states will test your faith! He loves class participation, he'll keep you the entire class time, you'll write several papers but if you read your paper outloud you'll get extra credit. Midterm & Final are exactly like the study guide! I recommend this Professor.

This guy is very VERY smart, real intellectual, likes to debate and get students involved. He is pretty tough on grading papers but it is easy to get a B, test ARE the study guide, you need the book, but he doesnt teach from it, I would recommend this guy if you are interested in learning something and opening your mind a little bit.

Gotta admit, this class tested my faith at times but in the end, it is what it is, faith! Otherwise, Professor Sutton is brilliant (gotta give credit where credit is due!) and his class is easy to pass. Write your papers, read them out loud. Study guides are same as test. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I absolutely loved this class! VERY heavily discussion based. I would say this class is difficult because the limited number of assignments. Had three writing assignments, a mid term, a big paper and a paper for the final. You should definitely be a strong writer if you take him.
