NO doubt. very fun and easy class. He is so enthusiastic about the subject of Chemistry--he makes you love it too. And, he tells the best jokes! He's hilarious, very approachable, and knowledgeable. If you get the chance, take him. And OH so Canadian!!

He is great! Very nice professor. He really enjoys chemistry, and has a vast knowledge of it. Lots of easy quizzes and chances for extra credit. His tests are fine if you study and pay attention in class. He's not as helpful in the lab, because he wants you to actually use your own brain to figure out things. Highly recomend this teacher.

He an OK teacher, need to read the book to understand GET IN A STUDY GROUP! that is what saved me, hes a really nice guy and easy to talk to, On scale from 1-10, i give him a 7, not bad but not great eigher...His tests are hard no multi choice, all written out (which is actually better then multi for this class)...quizzes at least once a week

Dr. T is an extremely good professor, highly knowledgeable (has Phd in Organic chemistry) & very helpful. Lotsa opportunities for extra credit throughout the semester. Willing 2 spend individual time 4 each student & 2 clarify doubts (all kindsa). Very non-tedious homework, leaving extra time for study. Fair tests, very organised, returns mid-term

He is very organised. Gives HW, tests and quizzes back in a timely manner. Lab attendance is mandatory. Although this is an Introductory to Chemistry class he teaches as though everyone has had chemistry and not everyone in the class is directly from high school. Also get a hold of your basic math.

Your dumb if you cant handle his class. Labs are just free A cuz he doesnt care about it and most of time there is no lab.

He's very well organized and always willing to help you out. He down to earth and speaks to you as if you werent a student and he didnt have a PhD. You have to be willing to learn and have an open mind. His notes and the book go hand and hand so USE THEM!! But its not like you have to read every word for every chapter. TAKE HIS CLASS!

Dr. Tramontozzi is a very good teacher. He encourages students to ask questions and will go over multiple examples to make sure that the students understand the lesson. Quizzes are easy, he will always tell you the class session before what they will be on. There's only 4 homework assignments & you get a review day before each test. Very Easy.

Dr. Tramontozzi is BY FAR the best chemistry teacher I have ever had. He is extremely helpful, and most importantly, he knows what he is talking about! Obviously this isn't an easy course, but studying and understanding his notes will get you an A on the test. He gives quizzes which help alot for the tests. Honestly, he is an amazing professor!

AWESOME!!! Easy class. Guarantee to pass you would have to TRY to FAIL! He goes through all the labs at the beginning of class. He can be picky on the lab reports but that's all the class is based off of. Only one test half way through but it's easy, open book. I would suggest taking 2280 at the same time to make it easier. TAKE HIM!!

I had this professor for half of my chem classes at Macomb from 1050,2260,2270,2280. And i have to say he is the most helpful caring professor that i have met. he's lectures are fun and he is always avai. to help students! if you wanna learn and have fun take him!!!!!!

Do the labs and you're pretty much guaranteed to pass. One exam on spectroscopy, the rest of the course is based on lab reports. Takes the time to show you how to do the labs before you start, always available to answer questions. Lots of work for 2 credits, but that wasn't his fault, and he does try to lighten the load some. Highly recommended

Macomb has a wealth of great chem profs, and Tram is no different. Class is tough, but it's orgo, it should be. Tram cares about his students and wants them to succeed, even willing to find extra tutoring help for his students. Huge help at office hours. He'll strike up a conversation with you about anything, cares about students as people.

Dr. T is a fantastic chem teacher. You need to be dicplined, and willing to learn. He will do whatever he needs to make sure you do well in the class. Even providing extra tutoring from his advanved chem students. He's very personable, and cares about you as a person. If you fail this class, your probably a slacker. It's tough, but he makes it easy

Dr. Tramontozzi knows his subject incredibley well. He is very intelligent, coherent, and professional. I (and many other students) found his class to be quite demanding, so DO NOT take one of his classes if you want an easy A. You will work hard to learn this complex science in only a semester's timeframe, so stay on top of it.

Im surprised with alot of these comments. He is a challenging tester but he gave last semesters exams for practice which helped alot. Follow his quizzes which correlate to his exams. He is a orgo chemist so he refers to organic compounds alot. Cool dude and goes out of his way to be helpful. Lectures = Powerpoints

Great professor, really understands the material and knows how to explain it, more than willing to correspond on his own time to help his students. Just because he expects his students to actually learn and not coast through the class doesn't mean he is setting the students up for failure. The 6 week classes are challenging but rewarding!

Dr T is awesome! I took him for 2270 and 2280, he made two extremely difficult classes enjoyable. He is very fair and is always willing to help someone who actually wants it. Would definitely take him!!

Amazing Orgo teacher!He is very helpful and passionate about organic chem. However, this class won't be an easy A and requires a lot of study time. He gives out practice exams which if you can do the practice exam then you should have no prob with the real exam. Great teacher!

Very cool guy however, exams were extremely hard...Grades very easy tho and offers extra credit for tutoring a HS kid. The problem arises when it comes down to 140 slide mind numbing power point presentations and expecting you to know everything. Does not tell you what mechanisms/rxns/or even chapters to focus on...I do not recommend his as a prof.

Best professor I have had to date. CLEAR, FAIR, HELPFULL, MOTIVATED! He helps students any way he can, while adhereing to the rules set out. Very fair grading, he looks for understanding of the material rather than just correct answers. Class is interesting and not a boring lecture. I am looking forward to having him in my future CHEM classes. 5*

Definitely my favorite, both as a professor and as a person. He's stern and strict but if you show him that you mean business and you aren't going to fool around, he'll be there for you 100% of the way. I've had him for 2260,2270, and 2280 and I can say he's my favorite. I've actually made a personal friend out of him as well. Great professor!

The all star player has decided not to take Orgo 2. As far as I understand as a physics type kid at Wayne State, the organic chemistry department at Macomb is way more rigorous than at Wayne. That might be a good thing for you or a bad thing if you have a heart/don't, and then factor money into your heart, you know. Lost the all star player.

Provides expectations for the class clearly and concisely. He expects professionalism, and he believes in making this class a thorough investigation of general chemistry. There are a lot of quizzes, they are a combination of attendance, and to work problems together. Bottom line, If you do your work, and attempt to improve always, he's great.

Incredible teacher. Dr. Tram delivers the subject in a fun and clear fashion. I was excited to go to class! Yes there are many quizzes and the tests are hard but you have to work for the grade, he's not going to hand it to you. He shakes your hand on the last day. The guy is absolutely outstanding! Take him if you can!

Puts all the notes on Angel to make lecture a lot easier to follow. Tests are very hard, so you must study. He puts old exams on angel which helps, but doesn't help with the multiple choice section. Overall, a good professor.

Dr. T is an AWESOME professor. Knows the material well and spends plenty of time going over material and explaining it in different ways to make it clear. Tests are very difficult, so you have to work hard to get a good grade in the class, but you will learn a LOT. His class prepared me very well to take the MCAT.

This class was really enjoyable if you're into science, especially chemistry! Lecture can drag on but it's not because of Dr. T of the material that he has to present. He gives you notes and reviews for the tests including practice tests. His class is not easy. His test questions are tricky and detailed but he grades fairly. I would take him! :)

BEST CHEM PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD! Tests are not easy, but he prepares you for them & as long as you study and know the material you will pass. Old exams are available as well. As for HW, there are assignments, which are only grade boosters, and OWL, which is for your benefit. Labs were fun & pretty easy! HE ROCKS AT WHAT HE DOES!

Really good teacher. He knows his stuff and can put it in simple terms for people like me who do not know chemistry at all. His lectures are clear and full of examples, and relate to course work. Also, there are opportunities for extra credit.

Dr. T is a hard but amazing teacher. He is not going to hand you an A but if you work hard you will do well. It seems that others do not understand that hard work will be rewarded, and complaining isn't going to get you anything. I did really well in his class, and would recommend him to anyone who actually wants to learn Chemistry not complain.

Hes overall a great teacher and knows what hes talking about. He posts old exams for the full portion part of the exam which helps alot in the long run for extra practice. My only complaint is that the multiple choice portion was very hard to study for, also he doesnt use ANGEL which is frustrating when you dont have time to go to office hours.

Dr. T is an excellent teacher. For those who left a negative feedback, you are going to have a tough time in the real world. He is very clear from the very first day of class, NO science class should be a walk in the park. GET OFF YOUR PHONE, pay attention, and study you'll pass with a AB+.

Lectures maybe need some emphasizes afterward bc it is a harder class. I got a B+ &I was hoping for a C or higher. Lectures are normal. Gives assignments here and there but they help a lot. Use old exams on angel to help you!!! just like the actual exams. If you email him questions he gets back to you really fast. Very nice professor. Winter 2015

By far one of the best professors I've had at Macomb! It is definitely a lot of work, but nothing unrealistic. There are short homework assignments after every lecture, and he clearly explains what you need to know for the exam. I really enjoyed this class, and I would definitely recommend him!

One of the best professors I've ever taken at Macomb. You will be satisfied at the end of the semester because he gives enough and clear information about the exams. his exams are divided into multiple choices and short answers. Multiple choices are kind tricky sometimes, but the short answers part is super easy.

Dr. Tramontozzi is a thorough professor who truly cares about his students. I'm blessed to have been in his class and I'm thankful that he took the time to thoroughly explain concepts to my class. Dr. T has generous office hours and gives students access to old exams. Because of Dr. T, I feel very confident about CHEM 1170.

Very cool and nice guy. If you do your work and study you shouldn't have much problems . He is very clear and provides plenty of review before the tests. The class wasn't easy, but it's Chemistry, it's not meant to be easy. Only thing I disliked was that he gave a lot of OWL homework.

He is one of the greatest professors That I've had. very critical about the way he teaches the class. learned a lot in his course. I wish if I could take him for orgo2. I am taking orgo2 at WSU and the professor there is like the worst. no one will care for the student as much as Dr Tramontozzi.

Dr. Tramontozzi is by far the professor I have the most respect & gratitude for at Macomb and probably of all my college career-He is an extremely caring person and he is an absolute role model-I took 3 other science classes (Orgo Lab, A&P,and Physics 2) and I still did fairly ok-He is always willing to lend an ear and help you in any way he can

Best teacher I've ever had in College thus far. doesn't try to trick you up on exams , gives you plenty of study material (old exams and more) owl is a great study tool as well. made me actually like chemistry and understand

This class is tough if you have been away from college for awhile like myself. Be prepared to study hard and put all the hours you can into OWL. Chapters 4-6 in OWL take a lot of time to complete. I'm glad I only had two classes this semester, it gave me the time I needed to complete all the assignments. Turn all assignments and labs in early.

While tough, Dr. T is a great professor. He gives you so many study tools and always goes over old exams the day before an exam. He loves participation and will answer any question you have. His tests are exactly like his homework and previous exams, so there's no surprises. I would definitely take him again!

Great professor for a chemistry class and is not how people review him to be. He does make you work for your grade but he does not make it impossible for you to pass. He doesn't curve or give much extra credit but he does explain the material very well. What you get in the class is what you would actually get. Also cares for his students.

Took this professor because it was the only option left. He turned out to be fine. He teaches the math portion well and his exams are mostly off of his powerpoints however I did also skimmed the chapters for better understanding. He gives out take home quizzes which really help. Does not give extra credit but overall is generally a good teacher.

study in this class & you will do good. Tests have multiple choice and free response portions. Make sure you study powerpoints for the multiple choice and homework assignments for the free response. Gives 10% extra credit on labs if you turn them in 1 day early. Overall a great teacher, and if you are pre-med take him he WILL prepare you forsure.

Dr T is probably one of the best chemistry teachers ever. Very reasonable and understanding with any personal situation. Always willing to help you if you're confused with lecture or lab. Hands out assignments frequently which help you learn the material. Can receive extra credit if you turn labs in the next class day and if you never miss class.

Do not listen to any of these other students complaining!!! If youre serious about your academic future and want to succeed, you take chemistry with this professor. He is most caring for his students and passionate about what he does. If you think this is a hard/mean professor, then you will be in for a rude awakening further on lol

If youre going into a professional program, such as medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, etc. than Dr. T is the one to take. He is extremely caring and wants his students to succeed. He gives out assignments and online work, which is very helpful in a class like this. His teaching style will prepare you for any program and entranace exam.

Let's be real, Orgo is HARD, and Dr. T is no walk in the park. BUT if you study hard, hang out in the learning center (shout out to Donald for being the best tutor) and form a study group, you can definitely pass. Dr. T expects a lot from his students, but again, it's Orgo. He's a tough prof, but is very knowledgable and cares about his students

Dr. T is a great professor and cares a lot about his students. Care and put in effort - you'll have a good chance of doing well should you abide by that.

All-around great person. Content is ez if you study. Will answer any Q's; give feedback, and allow resubmit before deadline (submit early). Exams proctored. Lab/lecture is great & engaging but cam is required on. Deadlines are enforced & no bonus work. Everything must be handwritten & scanned (Buy a printer). If you miss class, you will fail lab.

I took Dr. T for all 3 Orgo portions; both of the lectures are NOT easy, however it's the content, not him. He is nitpicky on some things, but not nearly to the level people make it out to be. His exams are very difficult to score high on, but he gives so much partial credit on them it's also hard to completely bomb them. Highly, highly recomend.

Dr. T is defo the way to go for this class, light and fun compared to Gen Chem titration labs. No pre-labs for the most part, and each lab report only takes 2-3 hours to write from scratch; only exam is midway thru on spectroscopy, which sucks, but he's an easy grader, very rarely did someone get below a 60 unless they didn't show up. Loved it

Dr. T is by far the best professor I had! I took a 6 wk summer course; it is very doable; you just have to show up and DO THE WORK! One thing I liked about Dr. T was that in his lectures he would do some visual examples. He made lecture fun. Definitely a lot of work, but if you are ready to learn you will do just fine! Dr. T taught the 6 week intro to chem course at MCC and did it well. I was able to do well on all exams and keep up with the information. He is clear with what will be on exams and study guides are the exact same format on exams.

By far, this has been thee nicest prof I've ever had in the last 4 years of taking college courses. He may come off as intimidating when he's speaking to the whole class but ANYTHING you say to him 1 on 1, he will be so nice about it. Don't be scared about talking to him cause he actually helps you out. Study the hw and look pay attention in class.

Professor Tramontozzi is old school, period, but he cares about his students and their success. I almost dropped this class due to his rmp reviews. They are false, cool guy.

Ignore the bad reviews. Dr. T is fantastic. Yes, he is a tough grader, but he's nitpicky for a good reason. This class is hard, but Dr. T does everything he can to make it understandable. He's always available outside of class and is willing to answer questions in class too. I'd definitely recommend taking him if you're willing to put in the work.

I started this class with a C- and I was considering dropping. Dr.Tramontozzi was intimidating the first week of class, but he's very caring about his students and worked with me to help me understand the material to improve my grade. I fell in love with chemistry through this class! It was an awesome experience.

I never studied more for a class ever. Dr. T is tough, but if he sees effort he is more than willing to help! He knows its tough, but also knows orgo is a rude awakening for many students and likes to see students rise above it! Ask questions and he will try his best to help you understand! Grades hard because we cant be ambiguous in orgo!

Dr. T was the first teacher I had since returning to school (over a decade since I took a college class.) I read RMP before signing up for his class and took it as a challenge. It's Dr. T that made me find out what I was capable of. If you really don't want to make a fool of yourself don't take his hybrid class. Just go to lecture.

I'm glad I didn't listen to the reviews. Dr. T was a great teacher, he was funny, helpful, and to the point. People said he was a harsh grader but he just graded what you gave, if u put ur work into it then you have nothing to be scared of in this class. I will miss having Dr. T he was a good professor. I will say to make sure u keep up with labs.

Dr T knows his stuff and was willing to answer questions from my curiosity to build to higher concepts. DO NOT MESS AROUND WITH SIGNIFICANT FIGURES. You must lock up that concept or you will pay with a non-trivial portion of your grade. Great teacher, would take in further courses without hesitation. He has office and tutoring hours.

Orgo is TOUGH. Dr. T is very smart and knowledgeable when it comes to Chemistry. He is very strict on what he allows as "correct". You will learn what he wants after the first exam. Lots of people failed/dropped, but it is expected when it comes to orgo. Make sure you stay on top of your studying, use lots of practice questions.

Wow. I miss Dr. T so much. I took his classes after Dr. Champagne's general chem 1 & 2. Dr. T will not pass you if you don't know Orgo because he doesn't want you to go into grad school without a strong background. Post grad school was all about orgo. He's an amazing professor. His tests are the best. He will challenge you. Miss you so much Dr. T.

If I could recommend Dr T a million times over I would. I took his class for orgo chemistry 1 and it was the best experience I could have asked for. Lectures=great and the slides have examples embedded. Homework=tough but acheivable. The exams are fair in regards to material in them. I think he wants every student to succeed and is willing to help.

Note: I am a 16yo DUAL ENROLLMENT student who took Dr. T's 1050 for transfer credits. Dr. T was genuinely one of the best teachers I had. Interactive, understanding, funny. Class was understandable and exam questions were no-nonsense. Homework was abundant but genuinely helpful. IMO anyone giving this guy a low rating didn't do the class right.

As far as orgo professors go, Dr. T was exceptionally great! This is a HARD class, but he does such a great job at explaining it that I never missed a lecture. He is a tough grader and will not just "pass you". You have to put in the work and that means doing a LOT of practice problems from the book. I never thought I could pass this class
