Worse prof at Mun
He's not that, the course in general is very hard... 100% better than Dr. Redlac
Not too bad, not too good...
MUCH better than Redlack!
1000% Better than Redlack (aka the devil of mgmt science)
Mr Friendly and Mr Smart !!
He's really boring but very easy to understand, he definitely knows his stuff
Definately knows his stuff, has no idea how to get it across to the students
Always ready to help
Hard to look at...but he's good. Really knows what he's talking about
teaches math by reading it to you!!! #$%^!
Great prof , good notes
Great for Quant. Helpful, great notes, knows his stuff. Course is tough
a little tough, but definitely THE teacher for this course
are you all insane, he's a terrible prof! Demeaning and rediculous examinations!
you can't learn math by listening to it. I hate him.
good prof
The guys an ass.
Very Dull, if You like math that won't matter, of course, who the hell likes math? Supposed to be the better of two teachers for this course, so in that case get him.
wrote the book you use and does know his stuff..... but it is very very boring and the tests were hard...nice guy though
He's a nice man who has a passion for what he teaches which is nice to see. He does a good job teaching quant, i know it's not the most interesting and easy subject but he does his best. He's always egar to help students.
His style of teaching is BAD. He has the book on Adobe Acrobat, and he puts it on the overhead and READS Math to you word for word. This is so stupid. Be prepared to teach yourself 13 chapters of useless material.
Better than the other profs for this course but VERY boring classes
Easy course and great prof!! All his test questions come stright off the extra problems and sample tests!! Trust me, I got an A in the course!
He's so dreamy!!!!! Gotta love a man who can drink diet coke at 9 am!
Smells like baby powder.
Very bright and very helpful.

I don't see how this guy got good ratings. Sure, he's a nice man and he's smart, but he's the kind of prof that just solves problems to himself as opposed to teaching and explaining them. Also he has NO patience if you don't understand something 1 on 1.
Tullet is very pompous and arrogant. Don't be surprised if you learn nothing from his lectures. He also picks on those that aren't "smart" enough. He needs to learn a new teaching style, and fast.

real nice guy, but don't bother going to the lectures. just download the notes from the net and practice the problems yourself. classes are useless.
He's pretty helpful generally. Test and exam questions are very similar to practice problems, but there are a LOT of pracice problems. Would be easy course taken on it's own, but pretty hard to stay on top of it while doing 4 others.
terrible grader. Nice guy but a terrible grader

I had Dr. Tulett for Distance Education course so I cannot comment on his classroom style. Overall I think the course material was fair - alot of work required though.
His classes were a waste of time, I stopped going about halfway through the course. However, his notes on the web are excellent, you can learn the course material with that alone, I wouldn't even say you need the textbook. I did really well on the final.
Great prof!! The class notes and the previous exams completely prepare you for all exams. There are never any surpirses and he is very helpful!!
Big Ego
He is very easy to understand and makes the material straightforward. Go to class and the notes will give you what you need for the exams and assignments. I recommend him for this course!

I found the work load very large and the pace of the course went so fast I couldn't believe it. He is an excellent professor though. He was very quick with answering discussion questions for the distance course and offered help whenever needed.
Very weird man, assumes you know what's going on in his head. Know excel for the assignments, you'll be lost if you haven't done Comp. Sci. first.
He responds terribly to questions in class. Assignments focus entirely too much on excel; we should be learning how to do the quadratic equation solver in CS2801, not here. He goes off on a lot of tangents, and can be difficult to follow. On the plus side, he marks quite easily.
Tough course but he's pretty good. I found the book much easier to understand and follow then his notes.
This course wasn't as bad as everyone says. Tulett is a good prof. Just go to class and listen and you'll do find. All open book, however the final was brutal!
He wrote the book for 2401, and i must say, largely it sucks.
very strange indeed. eccentric (but then what prof isnt) and seems to fancy himself some kind of elitist. useless impratical course and burned out prof.
This guy is the worst prof ever, he talks to himself in class, noone understands anything, sometimes he makes fun of students' question... DONT GET HIM
The course is bad..Not him really..He was pretty helpful in the DE section. Posted assignment/test solutions right away. Helpful to anyone with questions. Its a heavy course..I dont really have anything bad to say about him.
Since you have to do this course, it doesn't really matter who you take it with. Just be prepared for a boring, monotonous lecture. You'll have to do all the reading yourself in order to understand the course.
Great prof. Hard to talk to when you go to see him, but his tests are very fair and the final was easy. Would definetly take him for another course. Lots of feedback on tests and the courses isn't bad either.
Not gonna lie; this course is HARD! But I found Tullett did the best he could at explaining material. He LIVES for Management Science! His class averages were way higher than other sections. Make an amazing cheat sheet - often he tests the exact same sample questions from the textbook!
Thought he was the best prof to teach this course. He really knows his stuff and really wants his students to be interested in the topic as well. If you keep up on the examples in the lecture notes and know how to do them, the tests should be fine. All questions are some variations of the something that is in the lecture notes, so stay on top of it
Very nice guy, does the best he can with the material. He obviously loves what he does, and it shows in his lectures, but it'll be a difficult course no matter who you take it with. He's definitely the lesser of two evils. The other section (Evermann) had to use a formula to curve their grades up because their class average was so low by comparison
The lesser of two evils. But this guy is smug. It seems no matter how hard you study the result is more of the same. You WILL do poorly in this course. DT is brilliant, clear, and know the material...then he picks obscure questions for the final. "well, students were stumped by this new question" STOP MAKING IT HARDER THAN IT HAS TO BE.
The university uses this professors textbook for the course, which is very confuse and more complicate than it is supposed to be. The online version of this course is very confusing and you are on your on because when you ask for help he confuses you more than helps. If you are a distance student, try another university for this course.
THE WORST!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Cannot understand a word this man says and his lectures are all over the place. He reads excessively from the textbook and does not do any examples in class
Going to class is good sometimes but not always necessary. Tulett reads from the manual but does go through examples. Study examples and previous tests and you will do great on midterm/final! Very helpful for assignments. If you put the work in you will get a good result.
This proff is terrible. He made the work seem much more complicated then it should be. He was rude and not interested in offering help. He blamed students for not understanding the work. He was extremely arrogant. Class will confuse you, he will post better examples online. I read the test book. Good Luck....
Probably The Most Confusing Prof at MUN.
Very smart man, kind of an awkward teacher. Willing to help and seems to care about his students. Is very excited about the material, and often gets off track. He is probably the best option for this course though..
Thumbs Down! Waaaaay Down!
Good prof - Terrible course
He is a smart man, but he will be sure to let you know it. Very arrogant. Relies too much on his own prepared notes and doesn't bother to actually work properly through examples because he believes his prepared notes are too good to stray from. You will get much clearer and better information from the textbook. Avoid if possible
Print out his notes and use those. Dont bother buying the textbook. He is not helpful and you are better off getting a tutor right from the beginning of the semester. Horrible prof and doesn't care about how well you do either. Stay clear of him
He is the worst professor I have ever had at MUN. He spends most of each class standing up and mumbling sentences and phrases about the material he is suppose to be teaching us. His exams are hard and he likes to put tricky questions on them. I don't understand how he is still allowed to teach. Horrible. Horrible. STAY AWAY!
Not meant to be that hard of a course. Uses his own text book which is really confusing. Tries his best but lectures are all over the place and confusing.
Honestly this course is a breeze, just look at the old exams he gives you at least 7. Do the problems and you can get an EASY 100. Legit if you can memorize you can pass no trouble.
If you have to take 2400 make sure its with anyone but Tulett. His teaching style is horrible all he does is read from his very boring and confusing etextbook that he wrote. Going to class is a waste of time. The tests are usually okay because he gives you multiple practice ones. If you have to take him i would recommend getting a tutor right away.
There were no attendance marks so it was better to skip class and memorize how to do the problems on your own. He gives a lot of old tests that are the exact same format as the midterms and exam so it's an easy A if you practice those. His textbook is free online but not much help (other than for assignments).
Tulett is a brilliant man, which is great except he is very hard to learn from, I found that he overlooked a lot of concepts. The course is challenging anyways, I got a 46 on the first midterm and was told it was "okay" because I was still higher than the class avg., I ended up dropping the course and retaking it the following term with a dif prof
Business 2400 is a difficult course, Tuelett was pretty good for the semester I had him. He posts enough old tests and finals to know what to expect on the exams. I found doing the end of the chapter questions and old tests good practice, do those and you can pass the course.
Dr. Tulett is a nice and very intelligent man but he is not a very good teacher. If you take the course, avoid him if you have trouble learning by reading. The material is not meant to be hard, but since Dr. Tulett has been doing it for so long, he often skips over the mathematical calculations as if it is second nature to us like it is to him.
Tulett is a horrible prof. He doesn't even teach the course material. He spends an excessive amount of time doing the excel part of the questions which we barely get tested on. He's also very rude. I emailed him asking for a 1% grade increase and he sent back a very nasty email saying my exam was poorly written and I deserved a C in the course.
I took this course as an elective and i got a 97 even though it's suppose to be "hard". Dr. Tulett posts lots of old exams/finals and gives you a free 15% if u simply attempt the assignment (the other profs actually grade the assignments). His teaches a little fast but his textbook that he wrote is great. He also reuses questions WORD FOR WORD.
Very nice, respected and knowledgeable professor. He was very clear on what is expected and what is not. I really enjoyed the course.
He wrote the book and knows the information too well, he will skip major parts assuming everyone understands to his level. Need to know excel going into the course or else it will be even harder. Doesn't care if you pass or fail. ADVOID!!
Not a particularly difficult course, Tullett just has a hard time explaining what is important to pass. I'm sure he's great in this subject but he was not meant to teach.. AVOID
I heard a lot of negative comments about this prof and the BUSI 2400 course, but I had no problem with him. The course was difficult and the assignments required a lot of time to complete but he made doing it much less painful. The questions and solutions are posted online along with his textbook and past tests. One of the best profs I had at MUN.
Tulett made this course not enjoyable in any way. The material isn't easy, and I found I was spending most of my time teaching it to myself, and learning more from my tutor. Not someone I enjoyed as a professor.
This guy is clearly intelligent, yet entirely ruthless. Has no care if you understand it, and even if he did, he wouldn't be able to explain it to you. Skip the class, don't read his text. Get a tutor, and tell me where he lives so I can slash his tires.
The course is basic math and really isn't that hard, however he makes it seem harder than it should be. Skims over important concepts and focuses on the opposite (how to do addition in excel). Never thought I'd hear "you're going to have to teach this to yourself" so much from a prof. Rude to students. AVOID if at all possible.
A nice man and obviously knows the material well, however he has a tendency to just read from the textbook. I didn't gain anything from the lectures so I stopped going and still got an A in the course by reading it myself. As long as you're someone who can teach themselves you'll be fine. Not the best. Not the worst.
I see a lot of reviews here saying David is intelligent, but not a great professor and I can somewhat understand where they're coming from. However, he's really not all that bad, and the course material isn't particularly hard. You may have to teach yourself some of the content, but David isn't a hard tester or grader by any means.
He really knows what he's talking about and gives you all the resources needed to do well. It's a heavy, unpleasant course and he tends to drone on, but he gives examples that are almost the exact same as his tests and he gives the solutions to assignments while you're doing them. He grades fairly. It's easy to do well with him, just be attentive.
Very dry and boring subject material, and he makes it worse. He wrote the book for the course, so it is nice you don't have to buy it. The downfall of this? He stands in front of the class and just reads the text to you and explains it like you already know all of the subject material well. You better know excel. Very frustrating.
I learned everything about the course from Rod Hutchings and Nothing from Tulett. All that needs to be said. Avoid this prof
David is a very old-school prof, he makes the midterms very hard and his classes are extremely boring... Take another prof if possible
Take Davoud. Simple as that.
Really hard, like 3 days away from my paper, im worried il fail this subject :(
He is a very nice man, but classes can be dry. You need to read straight from the textbook he created, which can be a good and bad thing. He was responsive to emails and seemed to care about his students. It was a tough class, I'm glad it's over but I respect his old school teaching style.
Loved the prof, he's entertaining in a lowkey eccentric way. The course material is interesting to the right person, but either way you definitely need to make time for practice. Most things on the tests are available in the book with slight variation.
Hes so rude and he be ready to be made fun of in class and if you ever ask anything hell reply rudely and your answer will never get answered. Its unfair how its either him or an amazing prof like davoud.
The dude wrote the textbook... That's all the info you need to know. His lectures are bland. Take my word for it, do every example in his handmade textbook and you will do very well. Test questions come from his textbook.
As someone with ADHD, his lectures and textbook are nearly impossible to sit through/read. I failed his class the first time and took it again with a different prof, just for him to teach my lectures anyways.
It's a rough course but since he wrote the textbooks and assignments there's a method to it, assignments are due pretty quick one after another and take a lot of time
Your grade comes from 8 assignments which each take a minimum of 3 days to complete. His lectures cover a small portion of each chapter, so they're basically useless, and you have to teach yourself the material from the textbook. But, the textbook doesn't even fully explain the questions on the assignments. This course shouldn't be taught online.
Dr. Tulett did not particularly give much effort with this session of the course. Any questions that I asked were not received with much help, even if the textbook was unable to answer the questions. Speaking of, the textbook is the only helpful resource for this course and it does a respectable job of some things.
This is hands down the worst course you take at MUN. It is just 8 Assignments and good luck trying to do them or get the right answers. Even tutors don't really get what these assignments are about. He is the one who wrote the textbook and I have never seen this course offered as mandatory in any other school. He is very arrogant and full of himsel
By far one of the worst profs I've had. He wrote the textbook so the assignments are based what he thinks is right. He is no help when it comes to explaining things. I didn't choose his class I chose another professor yet he is still teaching it. He should NOT be a professor at all.
This course is incredibly difficult and Tulett is no help whatsoever. I feel like he goes out of his way to trip students up on the assignments. I picked a different prof for this course, but he pretty much taught it, anyways. The textbook is confusing and his lectures are useless. AVOID THIS MAN!!
Let's be honest... nobody learned a thing from this class, and if you say you did, you're lying to yourself. The whole class works together to get assignments done because it is impossible to solve or even understand. Old man wrote his textbook for the course. I did very well in this course, and the prof had 0 participation in that success, lol.
do yourself a favour and do not take his class, he has a monopoly over 2400 they use his for all 2400 classes and everything is up to him.
Although the course consisted of 8 assignments and they were fairly lengthy and some were more difficult than others, David did his best to help and provide feedback and responded to emails very quickly regarding questions! He is a very sweet man. His last day teaching was today as he is now going into retirement.
Although this course is difficult, Dr. Tulett was always there to help with any question you had. I must say that I wouldn't have gotten such a good mark without his help. I would recommend him to anyone as he is the sweetest, but he is unfortunately retiring after this semester!
