Dr. Underwood rocks! He would give the dumbest and least hard workers B's on their awful reports. He is a more than fair grader who rarely has tests. He focuses on your understanding the material rather than grades.

Fast paced for summer term, but very enthusiastic about the subject. Assignments are fairly simple.

He is really a great guy! He is really into class participation. We did many group projects/presentations during this term. He is a fair grader when it comes to reports. He does expect a good report, with a clear thesis statement. I would recommend him.

Made Western Humanities interesting. Lot of group work instead of individual study. Very few tests. I would recomend him, But be aware he is a Strong liberal Thinker and Bush Basher, if that matters to you

Don't take him if you like Bush! I'm not a fan of bush but I started taking his side by the end of the semester! Good teacher, very knowledgeable. One term paper of 1500 words and a journal which is your class notes and a few tests. Not bad.

Underwood brought the subject to life. After taking this course, you're going to want to visit Egypt, Greece, Rome, and the rest of the ancient world just to be a part of something so fascinating. The class was usually easy, but always interesting. I would recommend Underwood, whether you'd normally be interested in the course or not.

Mr. Underwood was a good teacher. Our class was a little behind. He uses all different approaches to learning, lecture, movies, slides and group work. We had one exam and one paper plus a journal. Easy class, nice guy.

This class was great- I really enjoyed it. He is a nice person who really enjoys what he is teaching! I would recommend him 100%! He is fair and fun!

Dr. Underwood is great. Funny and easy going. I had no interest in all in Humanities but he made it pretty cool. Plus hes a huge Falcons fan! Take his class for an easy semester.

What a refreshing, fun and easy to please teacher. I never thought Humanities could be so fun. Eventhough you only have 4 things your graded on, it's an easy A as long as you do the work assigned. He uses the books a lot so make sure you bring all books to class all the time. What a wonderful person. I'll take any class he teaches.

He is a very nice instructor. Easy A and wonderfull class. I had no idea of Humanities, but I loved it after I came to his class. Unfortunatly does not teach the HUM II for spring. Take this class you will not regrete. Thank you Dr. Underwood.

Couldn't ask for a better professor!! I would def take him for every class if I could!! Too bad he doesn't teach hum II. I didn't have any idea what hum was about, now I have learned so much and didn't even realize it!! Goes over everything with you, even answers to test, just take good notes and you'll pass with an 'A'.

He has a different approach to teaching that really works. Other teachers should take note from him. He does not like meek mild females. He does like people who are not afraid to perform on stage or in front of the class.

I had a blast in this class! I would take another one of his classes in a minute. He was hilarious and although he voices his own opinions frequently, he is very open to hear what the students have to say as well. It felt more like I was meeting with friends then going to class, was just a really great experience!!

Oh man; where do I start? Dr. Underwood starts off pretty scary, but HANG IN THERE! Go with the flow and no matter how off-the-wall it seems, do what he asks and he will hook you up and you will end up learning so much - even if you don't initially want to. The journal entries are a lot of work, but I'd retake this class in a heartbeat. Awesome!

Take him. It will make the class seem a lot harder than it really is. You have to do a journal but the majority of it is in class and the book work doesn't have to be too detailed. A lot easier than Hunter.

He was one of the best teachers that I have encountered at St. Petersburg College....so much so that I took Humanities I and II with him. He made the subject such a fun learning experience and it was very interactive!! I reccomend him to anyone who actually is willing to do a little work because he is well worth the experience.

I had a good time in his class. If you take notes then this class is a breeze. He wants everyone to enjoy Humanities. He was willing to answer questions after class. I didnt have a problem whatsoever. He also gives a VERY THOROUGH review of both exams. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Underwood is a great professor. His approach to teaching is different from many professors, his class makes you very interactive with students around you. Which made the class much more enjoyable. Responsibility is KEY to success in Dr. Underwood's class. Just study for the finals/mid term everything else is straight forward.

The trick is keeping up to date on section B of the notebook. These are the homework questions. There are only one or two a week, but they require you to read the textbook and really pay attention to the artists. He is energetic and obviously loves the subject which make the class fun. The group project is a way better deal then the term paper.

dr. underwood is very nice and he makes the class extremly interesting that you won't wanna be absent. he's clear on what he wants you do.

His personality can be fun at times but other times he can get out of hand with his opinions of things that has nothing to do with the class. He always puts his 2 cents in,just put it like that. Journals are okay to me..all they are is writing notes in class..I made a F on the midterm and he said I could probally still pass the class. We'll see :(

He doesn't like to repeat himself so, pay attention. A lot of work is on your own, and there is alot of it. He plays favorites, so get on the good side.

BEST TEACHER I ever had. He is sooo fun, he does not make the class boring at all. He sometimes put interesting movies that are funny or have a point. Also sometimes he makes us dance if we want extra credit, or we bring our own food and have fun in class. There is homework to do of course, but i loved it. i took HUM 1 and 2! TAKE HIM!

I loved his class! Yes, he does assign a lot of work, but if you keep up on the reading, it's not that bad. And there is a play that's work 25% of your grade, but you don't have to act in it if you find another way to help out. He makes the material so much fun and his lectures are interesting. One of my favorite classes.

Dr. Underwood is an interesting guy - he makes humanities fun. Movies, music and dance! I loved it! Discovering religious and spiritual worldwide beliefs since the dawn of ages was fascinating to me. The midterm is no joke - study and take lots of notes. The journal is the ticket - although he didn't collect at the end. The play was a hoot!

Second time I took a Humanities class with Dr. Underwood. I found that there was a lot of time involved with both classes. However, his teaching style was geared towards involving his students and bringing them a bit closer to the material. I give him an A+ as a teacher.

Underwood was an amazing teacher, he made the class so much fun. He brought in spanish dancers and the whole class got to dance for a week, we got to do a play for the final project and it was so easy. there is a lot of reading in the class but you read the books he assigned in a group so it isn't so bad. overall he is a great teacher!

High quality professor. Gives "out of the box" assignments, that make the subject fun. If you put your best foot forward, and do your work, you'll get a good grade. Cares more that you learn something, than test grades. Also teaches at USF.

Underwood comes off as a hard grader in the beginning, but in fact made his class easy going. The course has no tests, He required only 1 essay (that must be done in a group) in addition, He also requires a play. The mid term and final were pretty much the same as the notes.

Took Underwood as an express class, really enjoyed his teaching style. 2 main group projects, 2 exams midterm and final. He enjoys active learning. he grades your notes you take during his lecture which is helpful because you can review them for the exams. powerpoints are online. very helpful. Exams are pretty tough.

Very forgiving on late assignments and understanding. Great teacher overall with clear instructions and uplifting encouragements.

This dude is so funny. Hes a great down to earth guy, hes very nice and forgiving on a lot of things. the only bad part was a play. its 10 people doing an actual play with acting and stuff thats 20% of your grade but he gives u a B if u dress up and read your lines! he wears a fedora a lot but our final was us taking a salsa dancing class with him

Professor Underwood provides great feedback and is pretty flexible with content of your assignments as long as you grasp the chapter key points and terminology. Don't be afraid to state your opinion in the discussion forum, he is open minded and encourages candid responses. Easy A if you put in the effort.

You never know what to expect in Professor Underwood's class. He makes each lecture unique and memorable. He is an awesome person who loves to make his students laugh. The group projects were so much fun which lets students interact with one another. He did not only make learning easy but made EVERYONE want to learn.

Not to bad. Make sure you have a friend in that class (close to you in alphabetical order) because he is going to make you do a play. Once you get past the fact that you have to do the play the rest of the classes great he even takes the play great and makes it your final as well. Would 85% recommend him.

i love dr Underwood. he is the best professor i've ever had in SPC. fair grading. three assignments in the whole semester. no final exam or midterm. online quizzes easy to pass. i enjoyed his class!!

He is good. But you have to do a group project. The group project is a play that you have to present on stage in front of the whole class. If you want to devote your entire semester to learing a script and try to act this is a good class if not, BAD IDEA. His papers are graded easily, chapter quizes are easy with the textbook. Final was optional.

Dr. Underwood was a great teacher! I would definitely take his classes again. He responds to messages in a timely manner and gives great feedback. To pass the class, a paper had to be written on a museum piece, music, theatre, etc. He granted my request to see a piece at the High Museum in Atlanta. I enjoyed this class.

Dr. Underwood is a fair professor. Easily accessible. Attendance and Participation will be required as a part of your grade, but obviously. Makes you work for it and the book is used frequently. I would recommend this professor to anyone interested in taking Humanities, you won't have any problems as long as you are up to date on assignments.

he is a very good teacher and his assignments are very clear and not hard the only problem i had which at the end was not a problem was the media project i recommend taking him in fall semester

While this class is tough for a shy person, Dr. Underwood created a safe and fun environment where everyone can perform and prosper. I would recommend this class for everyone.

Underwood has been one of the best professors I have taken so far. His lectures are often filled with singing and sometimes dancing. He loves theatre and the arts. His final exam is a group performance. Very hard not to pass, 9 quizzes online with 3 attempts and not homework heavy, just a few short papers to write.

Dr. Underwood is a great professor. His assignments were easy. Every module had a quiz, practice quiz, and discussion. There is a final project that isn't too hard to complete. I think that he is a solid choice if you need to take someone that is fair and doesn't grade too harshly as long as you finish all of the assignments on time and correctly.

I would recommend prof. Underwood, just make sure you cite a lot throughout your papers! Every module consisted of an essay/discussion post, practice quiz, and a short 10 question quiz on what was in the corresponding chapter. Although the minimum words for most assignments are around 400, be expected to write a 2-3 page essay almost every week.

I took professor Underwood over the summer online, also my first college class. Great course to start off, he was awesome and lenient about assignments as long as you give him a good reason. Easy to follow along with not much work (no final exam). He gives great feedbacks on your paper and mostly independent.
