He is a very hard teacher who gives a surplus of information. His review sheets are very long and don't pin point what to study. If you were to do everything his study guide wanted it would take you a week to finish. Don't ever take any of his classes. If you do be prepared to work and study a lot.
He seems to really enjoy teaching and knows what he's talking about, but he isn't able to communicate it very well. He gives notes that you can use with his Powerpoint presentations, which are helpful, but his tests are really hard. This wouldn't be so bad if the tests weren't 75% of your overall grade. You really need to study for those tests.

wont accept any late work and prepare to study a long time for tests
Good teacher. Sometimes hard to follow. Really seemed to enjoy teaching and wanted the students to learn. Not an extremely difficult class to do well in, just be prepared to study and put the time into the work that he wants done.
He cares and expect students to work. He is fair and willing to help if you get lost. If you want to learn, take this guy's class.
Mr Voorhees really wants his kids to learn. His tests are pretty hard. He lectures and uses powerpoint. With my geography class he used some in class assignments, 3 minute essays and a Geolog to help us earn points. Expect a LOT of time to go into preparing for his class if you want a good grade. He is really nice and has a quirky sence of humor.
This class is a challenge. Do not expect to walk through his class. He is not a bad proffesor a fun guy actually. Just be prepared if you have him for geography 121 then your going to have to do a lot studying so if you looking for an easy class pass with easy proffesor pass him up.
Extremely difficult. He weights all the homework. He made a 200 point assignment count the same as a 10 point assignment. I did the big one and forgot about the small one. Killed my grade, especially since he doesn't accept late work and his tests are really hard. He expects A LOT of studying.
I don't like him! His tests are HARD. He write on his study guides that there will be things on the test that is not on the guide. Although his powerpoint notes are nice, it dosen't matter. His lecture is hard, but lab is pretty good cause you only see him once a week.
He is a really nice teacher but his tests are EXTREMELY HARD! His powerpoints and study guides DO NOT help you prepare for his tests. I advise everyone to NEVER take a class with him. I regret it so much. I never have studied and worked so hard for a class. It's crazy.
Horrible Teacher! I have been in his class for about 3 weeks and I hate it! Do not take a class from him. His homework is so vague, hard and takes so long!
A really HARD teacher. He assigns homework, normally before he actually teaches the material. Expects you to study/do homework for about 9 hours each week for his class. Powerpoints barely cover anything that you need to know. Doesnt tell you what you did wrong on the test/homework.
Tests are hard, quizzes are hard, homework is hard. Power points are vague and too abbreviated. He doesn't explain anything well. Expects you to know every word of info for the tests. Some questions on homework/test are never talked about in class. Do not take any of his classes unless you are willing to devote extreme amounts of time studying.
He was an awesome teacher! He is not as hard as people think if you take time to actually do something
This was the best class I ever took! He is hard, he makes you work for your grade, but you will never learn more from any other teacher. If you don't care about geology, just take him, you will!
If you need an A, Voorhees is a bad choice. I worked hard, followed the study guides and still received the lowest test scores I have ever had. Online course, and some DB questions were tricks. Don?t choose this prof. unless it is your only class for the semester or can devote 20 hrs per wk to course. He seems to set his students up for failure.
Don't take his class! He is soo difficult, his assignments and homeworks are the hardest, expects you to know everything and even things that he did not explain well, he has observational assinenments that require lotts of time and effort, you need to devote aloooooott of time to study and prepare for his exams!
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!! I'm an A student, Phi Theta Kappa, and I had to drop this class before I failed it. That and when I needed help and emailed him he would either ignore my email or make me feel foolish for asking questions in class.
Do not take this professer especially if you need an A. His class was the hardest class I have taken so far his test are beyond hard and the homework doesn't even even out the tests. Do not take his classes.
I failed every test, badly, like 40% ish, did bad on quizzes, but A'ced the homework and last big assignments thankfully to the internet, and passed with a D.
horrible class. boring and hard. the notes were awful, he abbreviated everything so much you couldn't understand what it said. he talked super fast and only goes over things once. he expects you to know everything prior to the class. it all was very distasteful.
I loved this class. If you did your reading you were fine with everything. His notes weren't the best but they still helped while I was reading. I know that I barely passed his class but I wouldn't change it for any other. He is super approachable.
Horrible teacher! I just recently started his class and im greatly regretting it. I cant understand him in class and the homework has nothing to with his powerpoints. DO NOT TAKE!
David Voorhees is a terrible teacher. He does not give enough time to copy down notes. His tests are extremely difficult. The tests are over 5-8 chapters at a time. Overall I would never take another class of his in my life.
This is the worst professor I have yet in college. He abbreviates everything! He does not care to know who you are, care what grade you get, or even care if the class understands what he rambles on about. His grading is not explained. He marks ? marks on everything as if your an idiot. I would never take another class from him again.
The worse teacher ive ever had.He mumbles half the lesson,so you have no idea what hes talking about. He yelled at our class because we ALL failed the test. Maybe he should realize that if his whole class is failing his test maybe its not the students maybe its him.I was thinking of printing off everyone's comments and giving them to him.
Worst teacher!!!! He stutters like a tard the whole time he is teaching. He grades extremely hard, I think he has a vendetta against his students. His beard makes me sick I would actually try not to look at him most days. TRUST ME DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!
horrible teacher. not helpful at all. like 75% through the class, you start to realized kind of how to finally start doing work for that class and by that time its too late. i passed but it was very difficult. did not like it
As a straight-A student at U of I, I took this summer class to get ahead and it was awful. It's impossible to do well not because the material is hard but because Mr. V is an ineffective teacher. It's painful but familiar to read these comments and see how many students struggle in his classes. He should seriously rethink his career choice. Teachers like this are why students dislike school.
This guy is absolutely ridiculous. He treats it as if it was a 400 level class. He makes his assignments and tests EXTREMELY difficult to the point where it is over the top. He abbreviates all of his power points; you don't even know what he is talking about. He expects students to know all the material before its taught. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
It is a hard class, but as an A student, I put all of my work into the class and was happy if I even got a C. Thankfully I got a B, but I worked so hard in the class. He is extremely helpful if he sees you trying. You must attend and you must do all the work. Tests were hard even after studying week or so in advance. For people who complain they ha
He is very interested in his work, and knowladgable. Though he is hard to understand and the homework is hard, i think for those interested in science its a good class.Plus he offers extra credit, but hard.
He is a very nice teacher but don't be fooled, he is very hard.He is a tough grader so don't think your gonna get by in this class without a whole lot of work. His final was ridiculously hard.
If you're looking for an easy A, this isn't your class. If you are genuinely interested in the subject you will have him for, you won't regret it. He expects you to do your work, on time, he doesn't make unworthy exceptions. He's laid back, but takes his work seriously. Ask for help, you'll get it. Your time won't be wasted in his class.
Worst teacher ever! Lots of homework done online, tests are very hard, and a 9 hour firld trip which is a t waste of time! DO NOT TAKE!
Worst teacher I've ever had. He makes it extremely difficult to even pass the class, let alone get a good grade. 1/2 way through the course 2/3 of the class had dropped. No one got above a B- Grade and if you asked him a question, he would treat you like you were an idiot for not understanding the material.
BAD BAD BAD. I took this because I needed one more elective, thinking it wouldn't be too difficult of a class. WRONG. I took his class online, but it was an effing NIGHTMARE. He doesn't help you, and he's full of himself and it a complete you know what. STAY AWAY.
His class isn't that difficult if you actually study hard and do the work. Tests are hard but I still passed with a C.. and I know I could have done better if I studied more. He is a sweetheart, and an awesome teacher that loves what he is teaching. He makes it difficult because he wants you to learn and he actually cares.
You can clearly tell he likes what he teaches. Hard class though. You have to study a lot to get above a C. Unless you are truly interested in the subject do not take the class. Its a lot of studying
He is really smart and knows about science. But, HIS CLASS WAS HARD. He teaches way too fast, and his tests are hard. The good thing was that...he realized everyone was doing so bad that he gave out a lot of extra credit. But if he didn't do that then I would have failed!
this is a 100 level class, and the professor apparently believes it is a 400 level class. the whole semester was a nightmare.. if you stopped listening to him to write you would be lost. he talks very quickly and quite honestly i had no idea what he was talking about half the time because i was trying to figure out what slide we were on.
Mr. Voorhees was an ok. He wasn't super clear but if you did the homework and studied a little bit you would be fine. He gives an extra possible 10% extra credit on each exam. The lowest score of the 4 exams drops so some people end up skipping the final. 75% of the grade was exams, 15% was in class work (so show up to class), and 10% online hw
This class has a EXTREME work load. He is very unclear and its almost impossible to do well. For a earth science class it was ridiculous. He expects you to know everything before hand and the tests are incredibly difficult, even with hours of studying. Teaches way to fast and makes you feel dumb for asking a question. Very hard grader too.
very enthusiastic and willing to help.as long as you pay attention and do the work you'll be fine
This class is impossible! The tests are all online and timed which you have to take during your own time. They are extremely difficult and are very long, each test took at least an hour.
Great teacher. He really knows his stuff and he is very willing to help you if you let him know you need it. Was very willing to work with me when I broke my foot and subsequently had surgery mid semester. Class is NOT easy, however I did miss quite a few classes. I passed with a C and was happy with that considering.
He is a great teacher. He is very excited about what he teaches. He gives great note outlines and is clear about his expectations. He talks a little too fast but if you ask questions you will be fine. Its a really interesting class if you are willing to put in the work.
Not a good teacher at all. Knowledgeable about the subject but does not know how to teach.
Worst teacher EVER!! A ton of work that doesn't prepare you for the test. Pointless 9 hour long field trips that take away time from your productivity level. Worthless field trip assignments that rarely connect to what you are learning in class. Doesn't teach, displays a power point of which you are not sure of what material to completely retain.
He requires a lot of work that, yes, you must put effort into. The tests really challenge your knowledge. He explains in the beginning of class that you will be tested on things in the book, not all he talks about in class. He provides help anytime, you just gotta ask. You can't slack off in this class.
I enjoyed the two classes I've taken with Mr. Voorhees (Astronomy and Earth Science) This semester I am taking historical geology with him and look forward to it. Yes he requires you to take time and do work and he challenges you which is what college classes are supposed to do. He is passionate about his work and is a wonderful teacher.
Prof. Voorhees is a nice man and very passionate in science, however HE DOES NOT BELONG AT A JUNIOR COLLEGE! His class was a load 100 class and it felt like a load 400. His lectures are extremely boring, and he crams a minimum of 30 slides into every class. It is a lot of material, and his exams are extremely hard. A lot of work for an intro class!
This teacher does not belong at a community college. Honestly the most difficult class I've taken in my two years at this school. He does not help with review for the test and its not on the tons of material you studied. Worst experience at WCC so far.
Voorhees is a good dude. His class is hard af, but if you listen and do the homework then you will learn. If you want knowledge, this guy is it.
He is a good guy and wants his students to learn. Hardest class Ive ever taken. Would not recommend. 7-10 pages of notes per class, homework actually takes 3+hours. Had to go on a Saturday 8 hour field trip at 8am in the cold. Way way too much unnecessary info. He literally talks so fast he can't say his words. He wants us to know evryhing he knows
This is the hardest class I have taken at waubonsee. He pumps out 60-70 slides a day, he talks so fast he can't even finish what he's saying. The tests are insanely hard and covers around 5-10 national parks. He also gives pop quizzes that pretty hard. If you want an A in this class you will be spending 9 hours a week studying.
Textbook package is way more expensive than necessary because of access codes. I was a huge astronomy nerd before this class, and now I hate the entire subject. Lectures and discussions are dry and student-driven (read: discussions between complete morons who honestly believe in creationism) with minimal professor interaction. Don't take this class
(online class) He's a very harsh grader and doesn't give much feedback. He'll say that he wants cited sources, which is what I've been doing for all of my discussions (weekly discussions and replies due) and then his feedback will be to just use the book and I wouldn't have to work as hard. Except then he doesn't get the sources. doesn't add up
If I had to take the class over again, I would have chosen a different professor. I am sure that he is an expert in his field but he is NOT a teacher. Tests had trick questions, super-specific questions, used vocab that was not in the text, and covered too many chapters. The quizes, that took the most time, were only worth 15% of the grade.
Incredibly knowledgable and passionate about his work. Very informative lectures and fun labs. A bit of a stickler with grades & deadlines, but very understanding about how life happens.
Professor Voorhees is what all college teachers should be. Some people complained his classes were too hard, or he did not belong in a community college. If you care about your education and the level of teaching take a class from Voorhees. He is very knowledgable and truly cares about his students learning and understanding the material.
Unreasonably hard. Take a different teacher
I would recommend only taking this class if you have an interest in astronomy. Professor Voorhees is really knowledgeable & you will learn a lot about the subject, but overall the class was very challenging. You do need the textbook, but it's $200 and there aren't many used. Nonetheless, he's very nice, willing to help and will offer extra credit.
Acts like this class is for an Masters degree.
The course work is unnecessarily difficult and time consuming, way to much for an introductory class. His coursework is extremely inconsiderate to students with an already full plate with school by itself. I couldn't possibly imagine having a full time job and children trying to make it through his class. Be prepared to do a lot of reading and HW
This professor teaches this class as it is a masters. We had a lot of people in the class to begin with now we have about 11. The power points makes no sense because he does not write out the full words and he talks to fast. The test are on blackboard and can be taken at home but the test are to hard. Don't take him.
Professor Voorhees decided to assign a take home test wanting us to compute the half-lives of a log then graph our findings all the while study for his final. Keep in mind that this is a 100-level class. I have four other classes that I have finals to study for but here I am going on my third hour on this take home quiz and not even 25% done.
Lecture heavy. Homework is really tedious and he doesn't explain them well if at all. I have a good grade in this course, so this is unbiased. I am currently working on a take home test, that involves a 1 page single spaced essay, the weekend before finals. Also, the mandatory field trip is incredibly boring and lasts several hours.
For an introduction class, this class was one of the hardest i have ever taken. Im a pretty good test taker and note-taker, but his tests are on an entirely different level. His exams are ridiculous, he grades incredibly hard, his lectures are boring and uninformative, and his class just angers me. Take my advice and choose another professor.
He's an astronomy nerd and ends being confused sometimes in what he's saying because he gets too excited and ahead of himself. its pretty funny... Anyways the homework was really easy and i fell asleep sometimes in class but i got an A even without doing the major semester long homework project... overall good dude, offers extra credit on tests
Voorhees is generally a good dude. He's very passionate about his work which i respect but for an entry level course this is outrageous. Speeding through material, grades every word of every answer on HW, tests are ridiculous and he doesn't warn you about deadlines. If you're looking for a half way easy entry level, go somewhere else.
Uninteresting stuttering lecturing that flew through the material like he expected us all to know about it already. I have never taken a intro class that has made me feel this much stress. Tests are all large and confusing at times. He gives extra credit but it feels like he gives so much to compensate for how many students don't do well.
I took Astronomy. Like others have said, it's very hard for entry level but it is SO good! I would do it all over again. You'll read your posts at the end of the semester and think "damn, I'm smart". The work is all worthwhile. As long as you're willing to put in the time, you can get a good grade. There are plenty of opportunities for ExtraC
I had to drop his class at the beginning of the semester I had gotten ankle surgery and he refused to accept my late work despite me being in the hospital. He said it wasnt his problem. Very rude.
Very hard to keep up in class during lectures. Uses a ton of abbreviations in PowerPoint slides that often dont make any sense. He teaches in a way that mostly makes sense to him, but not really the class. He however gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. Just make sure you study hard for tests. Not my first choice for a professor, just fine.
Took intro to earth science with him and it was terrible. Talks way too fast and reads from a powerpoint that doesnt make any sense. Expects everyone to know all of the material already even though it is an intro class. Made the class so uninteresting. I would not take him again or recommend him to anybody.
This professor was terrible. He did not explain the material effectively and his notes were symbols instead of words. Because of this it was very hard to study for tests. The class was full (36) students and by the end of the semester there were 9 of us left. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!
This class was dull and very reading-intensive. Performance largely depends on your ability to understand the textbook material, as Mr. Voorhees goes through the info rather quickly. He seems passionate about the subject, but just isn't the best teacher. Also, there were a few pop-quizzes that I missed because I was just 5 minutes late, so beware.
I took ESC100 and GLG103. Voorhees challenged me to work hard, he changed my study habits to be more efficient and a better student and he changed the way I look at the world. He's passionate for geology and he sparked a passion for geology in me. I switched majors to geology and I'm happy I did. His class isn't an easy A, but it's worth taking.
An average class. Bad ratings are from people who expect this class to be an easy A. Not an easy class. Keep up with the reading and quizzes you will do fine. Lecture power points are abbreviated. Have some courage and ask if you don't understand. It is clear that he is trying to prepare students for beyond the community college level.
Teacher doesnt teach what is going to be on the test. He abbreviates words on powerpoints, which makes it very hard to understand content on the slides.
His syllabus course schedule was not followed & Blackboard he had a COMPLETELY different schedule neither he followed The online Mastering Geology docked you points if you got the question wrong Tests wouldn't let you go back to previous questions Dis. board you had to post to see class posts & wait 2 hrs to reply or else you get an F for it. AWFUL
Horrible teacher, horrible PowerPoints, doesnt know how to use technology whatsoever the guy cant even properly post a link. Told us a month before the final hed have the study guide up but didnt put it up till less than a week before the final. Pretty much every question I asked via email was opened and ignored. Ive never been so stressed
Overall, I thought this course was very interesting. Professor Voorhees talks fast during his lectures, usually to a fault. However, I would say he cares about his student's success in the course and he regularly responded to my emails in a timely manner. Tips to succeed are to do the reading and to take advantage of the extra credit .
Mr. Voorhees is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He's incredibly knowledgeable and he will go out of his way to help you succeed. The only reason why some students don't like him is because he's not going to give you an easy A. You will (and should) have to work for it. The material and exams are hard, but he tries his best to prepare you.
For a basic level astronomy course, his expectations were too high. The moon observation assignment and constellation ones required a huge time commitment. The multiple mastering homework he assigned every couple of weeks took hours to complete AND the same questions were repeated! He also docked points for repeating the question on the test.
I have taken two classes with Voorhees; Physical Geology (with lab) & Historical Geology. He is hands down one of the best instructors I've had. There is a lot of work and the material can be difficult, but he really cares about the success of his students. He gives a lot of extra credit and is very knowledgeable and passionate about the material.
What? I seriously can't believe Prof. Voorhees is rated so low. He is one of the best professors I've had. He always graded & responded to me in a timely manner and was always understanding with me. He was an easy grader on me and my classmates as well. He put a lot of effort into our discussions and gave us all the tools & resources to get an A.
The prof. started the course a week early. Canvas didnt let me in until the set start date so I was already a week behind. Prof. said he sent an email the prior week saying it was open. I didn't get any email - I double checked. This is a 100 level course and he expected me to read over 75 pgs plus quizes and posts in 48 hrs. Insanity. Avoid.
I took his class as an online class and I will say this he is tough very tough on the grading for tests. You will need to study if you want to pass and make sure you aren't pulling from the textbook cause you will only get about half your material. However he does care about his students but just be ready to work for your grade.
Being 100 level, his Astronomy class contains extremely challenging and difficult-to-understand material. On his slides and learning objectives, Voorhees prides himself in using confusing abbreviations and talks very quickly in lectures. The best part? He will throw a fit if students don't understand something on a test he didn't explain well.
Mr. Voorhees is clearly very passionate about geology and responds very quickly to questions. That being said, he is very vague and I spent more time decrypting his questions than I actually spent answering them. Also, the workload between the lab and GLG100 was tremendous. Nice guy, but I wouldn't take this class again.
Every single question on every assignment & test was a trick question that was meant to trip you up. So much so that I left each assignment overwhelmed and more confused with the material than before. The timed exams were absolutely brutal. The content is so broad and overly specific far beyond an 100 level class. Very contradictory. Please avoid
I can truly tell that he seems like he is passionate about what he teaches. However, that being said, this is beyond hard for a 100 level course. He does grade discussions very strictly. LOTS of reading. does not have any tests, just a few major exams (which I prefer).
Professor Voorhees has way too high of expectations for a level 100 class. I'm trying to simply pass this class for the science credit, I don't want to be an astronaut. He is a tough grader and threatens his students on many of his assignments about referring us to the conduct board. Save yourself and do not take this class.
Memorize his syllabus. Prepare to use 10-12 hours a week studying for a level 100 class?!? Too difficult. No fun in learning about the amazing earth. He sets kids up to fail and will drop you from his class. He also does not apologize if he makes a mistake. He is too high level for a community college course.
I've always done very well in any class I've ever taken but this class was the hardest class I've ever taken. Professor Voorhees is VERY lecture heavy, goes very quickly, and explains the information to you like you're getting your masters, and you can't understand half of what's on his presentation because he abbreviates every word.
I could tell he was passionate about Earth Science, but I think he was expecting a lot from us. I honestly gave up on trying to keep up with the readings as I have 5 other classes. If you're wanting to go into anything Earth Science related as a career, I highly recommend this course, but it was a lot for just a Gen Ed class.
Difficult class. Exams feel like trick questions. Make sure to ATTEND CLASS and put your all into the discussion posts and replys because it is what will help you pass if you don't do well on the exams. Very picky with posts. Lowest exam is dropped. EXC available. Homework assignments in class are hard and feel like trick questions as well.
My grandmother passed away during the semester. As I was trying to support my family and struggling myself, he didn't help at all. He required documentation of my grandmother's passing for a little bit of leniency. I understand people may use it as an excuse for late assignments, but that's just ridiculous. Lots of self teaching online too!
He is very passionate and knowledgeable which is great. However for being an intro level class, there was just too much going on. Assignments were fine but so much information was thrown at us. Make sure to go to class - you can easily be down 100+ for missing one class. If you need an easy science credit look this way but different prof. 68Q tests
He is very knowledgable about his teachings, but he was probably one of my least favorite teachers so far. You could tell him you got hit by a bus and he would ask for proof. He is also quite strict, lectures daily and wants you to read chapters, study and do homework basically every day. Difficult for a intro class, many people stopped showing up.
Professor gave so much material to the point where it was overwhelming. It is impossible to be expected to retain that much information.
I will say the best way to describe him is a nerd in a very good way. He is super knowledgable about the topic and it is clear he has a passion. I did like the course however the tests were difficult, even with them being open note/textbook. Lot of questions were not necessarily answered in the textbook, but rather the extensive materials he gave.
By far the best instructor I've had. Drops the lowest of 4 exams. Extra credit is easy, show up after class hours to discuss your exam and you get a full letter grade on said exam. Material covered in reading quizzes are on exams. In class assignments were tough but do able in a group. Students find ways to complain. They need self reflection.
He is very knowledgeable and passionate about astronomy and is interesting to talk to and have a discussion with. He assigns lots of homework and only gives you 3 chances to make up missed work, don't expect him to make an exception for you if you're in an emergency or something happens. Expects us to study for 9 hours each week for his class.
Professor Voorhees is passionate and knowledgeable, but the sheer amount of material can be overwhelming. Engage with the class, use resources like unstuck AI, and you'll learn a lot, though the exams can be tricky.
My favorite professor throughout all of my time at waubonsee. He is a fair grader and what you put into the class is what you will recieve. He gives study guides and notes in canvas. He is very passionate about science and made it fun to learn.
He's very passionate about astronomy, but it was terribly difficult to get through his lectures. He rambles, most of the time unclearly. His slides were very unhelpful, and looked more like speakers notes than helpful info. There was a ton of homework, and many of the questions were just pointless, sometimes opinion based and impossible to answer.
On hybrid day, all we did was fill out long page packets-that we had to complete b4 the hour was up. 1 time I didn't complete it & asked if I could finish it at home-he didn't understand. Took multiple times to try & explain to him, finally he understood. Then he got his things, turned off the lights, and walked out, and I was still in his room :(
Hands down worst class I've ever taken which was so disappointing because I really did enjoy the subject matter. I'm a 4.0 student and usually enjoy a challenge but professor Voorhees is the worst teacher I've had. I appreciate his passion for the subject but for a 100 class he grades incredibly harsh with no personal feedback.
his comments on your work are so unbelievably cryptic and full of hidden meanings and typos.
I would like to request that the student body at Waubonsee gaslight the professors of Waubonsee as punishment for wrongdoing. I am disabled! I do not keep my sheep! "I've had other students who were disabled and they did okay."-----Professor Jeanne McDonald
Professor Voorhees expects you to be at his exact level of astronomy knowledge (or hyper-fixation) and accuses you plagiarism for using the glossary of the assigned text as a reference.
I was eager to study astronomy, but Prof. Voorhees's outdated materials, disorganized objectives, and unclear, reworded exams made the course unnecessarily difficult. His dismissive attitude hindered learning. Despite strong performance in 12 WCC courses, this was my most academically challenging experience. Run and find another teacher.
Never forget. Never again.
This class was a lot of tedious work with not clear deadlines and a mess of a schedule. There were tons of typos in every single assignment, and he was a super harsh grader. No one got above an 86 on the final exam due to his strange question formats, as he writes his own questions. Would never take this course again.
Mr. Voorhees is very knowledgeable, and it shows. However, his lectures suck, all of the words are abbreviated, and you cannot read anything he writes on the board. You can barely understand anything he says. Attendance is not required but he will randomly post 150 points in class assignments and give you 20 minutes to do them.
