Dave is a good teacher. He drills things into your head. He is very opinionated. I liked that but other people might not.
He is nice, smart, and make the class easy to understand. The best teacher who teach MGMT 217.
explains well, and grades papers very hard. has his own opinions but genuine good guy
goofy sweaters but he's a good guy
Good guy and a great teacher. Explains things well and gives good examples. Grades papers very hard. He gives fair tests and expresses lots of opinions.
Um....Greg Kinnear...is that you??
I absolutely loved having Dr. Wade for 355. He is a really great teacher who truly seems to care about his students. His lectures for this class were a little boring and not very helpful for the exams which came almost straight from the book.
Mr. Wade was a good teacher. He put that fear in our class to study this summer. He is a very smart and confident teacher. GOOD JOB!
Wonderful, take him over Hill! He is so clear on what he wants and says. Makes the law easy with his examples, always takes questions during class to help you understand. Doesnt add in 5,000 outside the class readings. Go to class, follow in the text and you wont come out with less than a B.

If I squint my eyes in this class, I could swear the man I'm listening to is Kevin Spacey. Widly opinionated, although sometimes includes too much information to give examples(to describe the predominant male work force in the 70s, he talked about his great fortune in his girlfriend's mom always being out of the house. Hmmm)Anyway, good class.
Great teacher, Good stuff
he is getting a teaching award next week and i definitely think he deserves it. his class is very interesting..however, i wish he would get the class a little more involved. i think he might like to listen to himself talk- but whatever, at least he is interesting.

This class was fairly good although a little dry in my opinion as all he does is lecture.
Good guy, funny, not too difficult, tells it how it really is without all the nonsense and fluff like every other teacher at this school. Watches the Sopranos big plus in my book. I liked both of these classes.
Knows his stuff about business law, I think he likes to hear himself talk. Only problem I have with him is that he appears to have a Strong DISLIKE for the military, maybe a soldier took his first wife from him?? Unknown but never the less a dislike for service members!
I have to disagree with the statement below. Being a veteran and having taken both 355 and 335 taught by him I have to disagree with your opinion about him disliking military personnel. He's a great teacher. I've heard him talk with nothing but respect for the military. Sorry you feel that way I think you might have misnturpeted something he said.
A very entertaining speaker. Uses very good real-life examples to explain concepts in law. Tries to incorporate college life in his lectures to make it easier to understand concepts. Exams are a little difficult, just study the concept sheet he gives out and you will be fine.
If you had the guy who taught this class last year, you'd know how amazing Dr. Wade is. He post slides on BB, uses clear and understandable examples, and is very personable. The exams are difficult, but suck it up cuz, like he says, the COB is very competitive. At least there's actually a comprehendable textbook that goes with the class!
He is a great professor! Knows his subject! Even if you weren't to go to class much..all notes are posted online which makes it easy! Exams may be confusing but if you study well, should be able to pass with at least the C needed for business majors!
He is very entertaining. Makes class write clearly since it is important for business. Very Knowlegable and has won teacher of the year for the last three years.
This class is required for business majors and it is designed to "weed out" some of the kids. Many kids fail the class multiple times. I really enjoyed the class even though I didn't have prior interest. Wade is a great teacher... He is very clear and his PowerPoints are extremely useful.
he knew a lot of about what he was talking about and made it really interesting. the slides can help and so does the book but the tests are terrible! study for a week straight and you can pass the exams!
best advice is to take the first test seriously TAKE IT SERIOUSLY
Class is dry and boring and dull. Class not mandatory but recommended because he uses examples on tests from lecture and the TA goes over all the basic concepts during review sessions. It's tough, but the College of Business is tough - so you just need to suck it up and if you study it's a guaranteed C required.
Very easy... dont even really need to go to class just go to review session w/ the TA the week before the test and memorize everything she says cause its directly from test! Not to bad of a class just 3 tests though
Very Knowledgeable on the subject...go to the review seesion and study, study, study
Best professor at NIU for sure. He was so interested in what he was talking about, and always had a good story to tell. If you go to class you can for sure get an A or a B. Study sessions are important, and never take a test lightly. I suggest using flashcards with the terms, the test is situational, so make sure you understand the terms!
Great professor! Very interesting and funny.
Class was moderately easy. All you have to do is pay attention to the slides, which you can print off the internet, and read the book because it helps on tests. The class is composed of 3 tests, so be sure to know the material.
By far, one of the best professors i've had... only problem is that the tests are really tricky. Know the cases! Not the names, just the situations. Read the chapters at least twice. the tests are a lot of "Not" questions. Good Luck!
he's awesome!
Wade is an awesome teacher. Very comical and has sweet stories. The only thing I hated about this class was that it was EXTREMELY hard. It's only made up of 3 tests nothing more. he doesn't take excuses or tears. So take all 3 tests seriously. I just passed the class with a 'C' by one point. So long business law!
A very interesting and useful class. Its pretty easy and you dont need the book. The key is to go to the review before each test. Its an easy B.
Professor Wade is very passionate about this course, and the lectures are useful but barley anyone attends them. You HAVE to read the book and study study study. Review sessions are extremely helpful so go to them! If you take the time to read the book you should be able to get an easy B or C
Wade is the best professor I've had at NIU. He's a great lecturer and manages to keep class interesting with stories and jokes. The class, like others have written, is made up of 3 exams and its either hit or miss. Go to class, go to the review sessions and study the slides before an exam and you should get that A/B. Mess up an exam and that's it.
Prof. Wade is a connoisseur of lecture clarity and interest attracting. Easily the best professor at NIU
I struggled with the first test, but once you know how to study and really go over everything you will do great. I earned a B on the second test, because I made sure I knew how to apply the information. It's really a very manageable class.
good examples. looks like bruce willis. hilarious.
He is a great professor! His class is definitely not a blow off class, but he presents the information so well and basically tells you in advance what you need to do in order to succeed in his class. Getting a B or C won't be hard at all. Just read the book, powerpoints, and GO TO THE REVIEW SESSIONS! =o)
The best teacher ever! His lectures are very interesting, and if you do your reading, go to lecture, and do the CONCEPT sheet you are set! The key for the tests are the CONCEPT sheets, if you know all of that, there are no worries. If you want a teacher who actually cares about teaching his students, I would recommend him!
Easy class if you go to the review sessions for the test. I went to every class but hardly paid attention so attendance isn't important; I hardly studied at all and still got a B.
D. WADE IS THE MAN! BY FAR THE BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD... Not a blow off class though, if you expect to pass, you need to go
Wade is a gem at NIU. Hands down the most entertaining and knowledgeable professor at the university. The class is an easy A or B if you go to lectures and the reviews before the exams. No surprises in the class. Wade is very friendly and very willing to field questions if you have any. Again, hands down, best professor at the school.
The key is to attend the review sessions. All the info you need for the test is available at the review session on the concept sheet. Wade is a great public speaker and keeps you entertained.
One of the best professors I have had. He keeps the class entertained and is a great public speaker! He has a concept sheet for every test that a TA will go over in a review session, its very useful, but you class will help with understanding the concepts more. Class is worth going to. I wouldn't ask for any other teacher!
Great teacher. You don't have to attend, but you do have to study... But he is a great teacher, and the review sessions give you plenty of help
This was the hottest teacher I have ever had. He is so cool and funny. If I ever had got sued he would represent me for sure. I love him and I wish I could marry him.
professor wade is very good.. hes freakin hilarious! he helps you alot, if you seek for the help. he speaks clear and understanding and he is sooooo hot. and always dresses so nice. just read the text [thats important] and go to the reviews [very helpful] TAKE HIS CLASS!! =]
D.Wade is a great teacher. The material covered is abundant, so don't think his class is a blow off. If you consider yourself to be an average student dont think you will get much more than a C with little effort. Remember, you need a c or better to pass this class. If you like learning the law this class is great.D Wade is a true asset to NIU!
He's a wonderful person, and is very clear. I thought business people were a bunch of tight wads. Not even close. He has a great sense of humor, and is helpful with legal issues. I have a hard time with tests, but I'm working at it to do better. This guy is interesting, and nice looking. Who would turn him downforadateHis fiinnne,n down to earth!!!
One of the best professors I have had thus far. I actually LOOK FORWARD to coming to his class... AND He is VERY easy on the eyes. I'm not usually attracted to older men but he is sooo SEXY! Maybe thats another reason I like going to class :-)
Best teacher I've had at NIU so far. Attendance not mandatory, but you do need to study the power points. Read those, go to the review sessions which cover everything on the exams and this class is no problem. Strict when it comes to this pass / fail course, but he's hilarious and incredibly helpful. Explains the material EXTREMELY well. Best ever
His intelligence combined with his charisma and humor translates to an enjoyable and easy to learn class. Attending review sessions is highly recommended.
This guy is a baller, i would totally hang out and drink with him. He knows what he's talking about and loves doing it. My advice is to go to the review session, read, and study hard. The exams arent just definitions n stuff, you need to apply law to situations.
I took D. Wade's Mgmt 217 course so I rearranged my schedule to take his Mgmt335 course. He isn't as interesting in a smaller setting, but from what I heard about other Mgmt 335 teachers he is the best. No group work, 3 tests, 1 paper and that is it. He even gives extra credit on test which I thought was odd for him. Overall good!
Ballin...He makes class easy to go to and you dont even realize how much your learning. HIghly recommended. Be sure to go to the review sessions, they are essential
All of the other comments on here are true, he is awesome, take his class! BUT DO NOT BUY THE BOOK! He will tell you to buy the book but you will never use it and you will waste like $124 on it. Don't buy it all the powerpoints are online.
By far the best teacher I have had in 3 years! Interesting, very helpful, and entertaining. Going to class seemed worthwhile. I actually looked forward to attending every day.
D. Wade is one of the best teachers I have ever had in my life!
My favorite professor at NIU so far. Great sense of humor and great depth of knowledge. Highly recommend taking this class. YOu will need to study for the tests, but they are not impossible. Hard to get an A, but easy to get a B if you study well for the tests. Only 3 tests consist of your grade.
Good professor. Tries to come off as a jerk on the first day but from then on he is pretty enjoyable. You have to study for this class and be sure to go to review sessions and use the concept sheets.
Dave Wade is one of my heros. He is very passionate and knowledgeable about everything he talks about. Gives great real world examples of the subject matter and encourages class participation. Contribute to the class and you'll become a favorite of his, but don't say stupid things because he'll call you out on it.
He takes a subject that taught by most others would be horrendously boring and makes it fun. He has lots of relevant stories. There is a ton of material to cover and the volume of information can be overwhelming at times. His lectures are long and sometimes hard to stay awake through. Read the book and go to the review sessions.
His lectures are extremely engaging. There is never a dull moment. He is hilarious, and keeps what would be the most boring class entertaining. I really wish more teachers were like him.
Easy class. He is a very good professor. Like the others have said he give great examples to make u understand the material. Only 3 exams in the whole semester, no activites, nothing. Nor do he take attendance. He has test review session that is very helpful. Test are long and alot of reading, but easy class, and great teacher!!!
Great Professor. He is an excellent & engaging speaker. Tests are not bad as long as you read the book and go to the review sessions. I look forward to every class!
By far my favorite professor at NIU. Keeps lectures interesting and keeps you engaged and awake. 3 tests, easy homework and a paper on the homework (still easy). Book is helpful but not necessary. TAKE HIS CLASS FOR 335. if you liked him in 217, you'll love him, and even if you didn't, you'll still love him.
Awesome teacher. He is a great speaker, very engaging and uses lots of real world examples to help you relate to the subject. I look forward to every class. Just 3 tests and make sure you go to the review sessions!
Teaches class well uses many examples and makes difficult topics easy to understand. Easy to talk to and fairly accommodating. Uses powerpoint and posts them on B.B. so attendance is not mandatory but you should still go. You MUST go to the test reviews you wont pass if you dont. Very useful class but very strict on the grading.
Wade makes this class seem more scary than it is. The hard part about the class is that it has only 3 exams. The other part I didn't like is that he has a strict grading scale, meaning if your one point away from an A he will not bump you up. I never went to class, studied his chapter outlines, and did well. Review sessions are really helpfull.
Excellent teacher. He's intimidating at first but the class is nothing to be scared about. I recommend going to class, but it is not necessary. If you don't go to class, you should use the book, but I did go so I didn't need it. Go to the review sessions and study the concepts, don't just memorize. Easy honors credit.
This class is easy. You don't need to go to class at all. Read all the chapters and go to the review sessions and write down everything. Study off of that and you'll be sure to get a B or A in this class.
I went to lecture twice the whole semester and for a 96% in the class. Go to the review sessions, take notes, get As =)
Professor Wade is a great teacher and lecturer. No papers or quizzes. Your grade is determined by the 3 non-comprehensive exams. Grading is very strict. No bump ups, curves or extra credit assignments. Attend the exam review session and you will get a good grade. Class attendance is not required. I didn't read the textbook and got a B.
He is an amazing teacher. He is extremely well versed in what he is talking about. He made class not only informative but entertaining. He is a hard grader but I strongly recommend this intelligent, personable, and skilled teacher..
He may be a great lecturer, who the hell knows, because I never went to class. And you don't need to either. Just go to the 3 review sessions prior to the 3 exams. Everything you'll need to know/study for the exam will be covered there. Thoroughly go over that Review Sheet prior to the exam and you'll do well. Don't buy the textbook either.
He may be a great lecturer, who the hell knows, because I never went to class. And you don't need to either. Just go to the 3 review sessions prior to the 3 exams. I would have never went to class if he wasn't so easy on the eyes ;) But I felt that I learned the most during the review sessions-those are a must.
His lectures are fairly interesting, but you don't need to go. The review sessions give you all the information you need for the exams. No homework. Don't bother getting the textbook.
No need to go to class, but he does use examples that are on the test and gives extra credit. Go to review sessions, NO need to buy the book...I never opened it. You get notes for everything you need. Tests aren't bad, no homework, quizzes, just 3 tests. No final...it's just the last test.
David Wade is extremely un helpful his TA's do majority of the work when it comes to helping his lectures are un needed because of his extensive review sessions how ever him as a professor terrible he's extremely rude and feels as if he can talk to anyone any way because he is the only one teaching the course id say if u can avoid this class
DO NOT GO TO CLASS. BIG WASTE. He reads almost word for word off the slides that he posts online. besides the fact that the review sessions tell you what each thing on the concept sheet is. Just go to review and write down/type what they say and study it. 3 tests, no hw/quizzes, no final(just 3rd test)
This class is hard to pass if you are not willing to read the powerpoints and study. His tests are hard and the review sessions don't help as much as people say they do. You pretty much teach yourself everything.
Great teacher, makes class interesting. If you go to class you don't need to read the book. Go to the review sessions before tests, they help a lot.
This class is not easy nor hard! You dont need to go to class OR read the book, even though Wade really explains what the terms mean. All you need to do is GO TO the review sessions and MEMORIZE EVERYTHING!Don't freak out if you fail or get a D on the 1st test, they get much easier! Just memorize the study guide he gives you b/c that's all on the exam!
This is by no means an easy class. GO TO EVERY CLASS if you can. Going to class, weekly tutoring, weekly studying & asking a ton of questions got me a 'B in this class. He's a cool guy to talk to, but DO NOT expect any extra credit points whatsoever. He gives 3 tests and that's it. I didn't use the book, but some people do. His powerpoints are GOLD
He's really funny. But it is a relatively difficult class. He is the man though.
I highly recommend Professor Wade. Go to every review section, take extremely detailed notes and memorize them, and you'll know almost everything on the exam. I went to class because he's hilarious. He'll try to freak you out on the first day but don't worry, you'll be fine.
One of the best teachers in the college of business. He gives great examples that will stick with you when you are taking the test. If you go to the review session & take thorough notes you will do fine. The people who complain about the class are the ones that don't go to class. Honestly if you don't go to class you shouldn't be a business major.
dont buy the book. show up to the review sessions. everything that'll be on the exam will be gone over then. you dont have to show up to class but he gives good examples and funny stories that'll help explain concepts.
AWESOME instructor. Attend his lectures because he gives great/memorable examples that really help on the tests. No homework, no quizzes, just 3 extensive exams. Attend the review sessions prior to each exam and you'll do fine! Get the book if you're a big studier, if not, powerpoints are provided for you. Not a bird course by any means.
I went to class 4 times (first 2 weeks). Don't buy the book. I have prior law classes so it was really easy. Review sessions before each test that tell you what is going to be on it. All multiple choice. Take him! Easy A for me.
Great guy. Wish I went to more classes. If you just go to the review session you will get a B easy.
Just go to the review sessions, take notes from them, and study them.
This class was super easy, attendance is not mandatory, the book is not necessary, and no homework. All he has is 3 tests that is your whole grade. Just got to the review sessions and take lots of notes and then study off that. I got a B in the class and the only time I went to class was for the tests!
Easy class. Based on 3 exams and going to his office hours for extra help was usefull
LOVED his class! If you went to lecture and attended the review sessions the exams were not bad at all. He's really funny and willing to explain anything you need help with. Plus he's not bad to look at either. :)
3 exams determine your grade, first exam is the hardest because you have to learn how he phrases questions. Its not mandatory to go to class but definitely helps. He's a nice guy in his office hours, even though sometimes he may seem intimidating in class.
He was a decent teacher. I didn't go to most of the classes and I never read the book. I just went to the review sessions and received a B. NO homework; only 3 exams all semester.
Very easy class, don't buy the book, you don't need it. I didn't go to class often but enjoyed class when I did attend, I simply went to the review sessions and studied the concept sheets for the 3 exams. I received a B+. I wish he curved exams so I could have received an A
He is very funny. The material is dry so its not a fun class, but he tries to make is bearable. His tests are hard. You must study and go to the review sessions. The first test I thought I knew the material and didn't go to the review session and I didn't do well. He is very sneaky in the way he words them so pay attention.
Loved Wade. Such a badass. You really do not have to go to class at all, just the reviews before the exam and study that material and you'll be fine. BUT he is awesome and made me want to go to class. This class and Wade are Definitely huge reasons I decided to major in MGMT.
Went to class maybe five times the whole semester. Twice the first week, then the next three were test ONLY! Boring class to me, but STUDY STUDY STUDY! Only three grades whole semester...all test. I failed first two, got a 77% on final. Passed!
I loved this class so much. He is a funny and blunt guy who keeps the class interesting. Book is not needed if you go to class and the reviews. Although attendance is not mandatory, I think it is worth it because he actually makes the material worth learning. Only 3 tests so take each one seriously. I loved this class
Great professor, his lectures are interesting and supported by great examples from "real" business world. There are only three tests in the whole course, so just take them seriously and you will be goo. Exceptionally well prepared for every single class.
This class is absolutely awesome. His examples are often hysterical or interesting and become more hilarious as the semester progresses. The tests are reasonably difficult and in order to pass you must study. If you fancy yourself a "good test taker" and don't study you will receive a poor grade
David wade's lectures are extremely interesting and entertaining. He gives you all of the information you need to pass the tests easily, while giving you stories and case examples that make going to class fun. Easily the best instructor that i have had at NIU. You DO NOT need the book, but you DO NEED to go to the reviews.
Do not go to class. This teacher is awesome for the fact that you only have three tests and they are not cumulative. Go to the reviews study them like its your job. You will pass very easily. A lot of people don't like him but he is kind of interesting. Would take the class again.
He was a pretty funny teacher. The material is very hard and it was about business laws. His tests have been leaked for a few years and if you memorize those, you'll get an easy B. He switches up only a few test questions. Never went to class.
Wade is a professor's professor. He tells you openly he does not care if you come to class. And the course was based off of 3 tests, no extra credit, no curve, no required homework. If you go to the review sessions you will do fine on the tests. He knew what he was talking about.
If the law interest you, you may enjoy the class. He gives so many examples or steers off topic so much that I forget what were talking about and just might tune him out. Homework is on Cengage all multiple choice and based on completion only 3 pts each. Review sessions taught by the TA were much more clear cut and interesting. Study for test!
Great Professor. He has a clear grading criteria. Make sure you go to class and take notes. Review sessions helped a little also. If you do all the online assignments and go to class you will be fine.
This is a tough class. You need to put in the effort in order to pass. Wade speaks very quickly and comes off as a bit arrogant. He is very full of himself and thinks his students are stupid. Tells a few jokes, but still a boring class. I also don't like how he plugs his political opinions into his lectures.
Overall, a good class to take. He comes off as being very arrogant, and does not care about the student individually. If taking the class try your hardest to find the three previous exams from the class. As long as you have those and study them, as well as do the mind tap, it is possible to get an A without even going to class!
He can be arrogant/elitist at times. He does sometimes veer way off topic during his lectures.
Wade's class is based off online homework assignments for every chapter and 3 tests (one is the final). He is hilarious during his lectures. Reading isn't required but it helps you understand what he covers in his lecture. The lectures can be really long and dry and most people skip. Definitely need to go to the review groups before tests.
David Wade is amazing. He is funny and extremely intelligent. He is a lawyer, so he knows his stuff. He will not beat around the bush and will say exactly what is on his mind. The lectures come almost directly out of the textbook, so you could skip if you plan to read intensively, but he gives great examples that help solidify the ideas. 10/10
Extremely difficult class, you don't need to show up but I reccemend reading the book every day. Little to no points for homework all exam scores. Gives good lectures but very dry material. Yes his test have been leaked for years but only about 20% carry over. READ READ READ. You really need to know it not just meanings of words.
Test will make or break you in that class, the homework is nice added points but everything will be based mainly off the test so make sure you know the material before you go in. Also always go to the review sessions, they let you know more in detail to study.
Professor David Wade did not match my standards of giving lectures. It was difficult to follow his speaking because he would train off about other subjects rather than the course material itself. Besides that, he gives out great recommendations, but make sure you get to know him since he has large classes.
One of the best professors NIU has. Very strong, clear, and fair. Pretty funny too. Actually seems to care about his job and is very professional. Go to class, read the book, go to the review session, and you should get an A or B.
Mr. Wade is a hilarious guy and has a lot of life experience. He may trail off on stories that are not very relevant to the exams, but it makes lecture actually fun to go to. Be prepared to work hard. Everyone I knew that got an A had to actually read through the chapters, went to class, and studied crazy, so just keep that in mind! Have fun
Wade is a really nice guy and I enjoyed his lectures he made it so much more interesting. Lets be real tho this class is not that easy.. he said the first day 1/3 of the class would fail. Maybe I just don't find interest but its not easy like everyones writing. STUDY! I got all A's this semester except this class :( & the tests are worded so weird
MGMT 217 was honestly a class where you either failed or passed. I ended up with a B in the class, but I know I could have done more. I didn't show up to class after the second test, but go to the the review sessions. The TA is amazing, he literally teaches so much better than Wade. Overall, interesting class, but put the work and study!
Professor Wade was fantastic - his lectures are phenomenal and he gives you a ton of resources to help study for the tests. I'd take another class with him in an instant. Make sure you do well on the exams - there aren't a lot of other ways to get credit in the class.
Great guy in person, and lectures are interesting, but attending class is not necessary to pass the class. He goes over powerpoints, but those are posted online so that you can review on your own. Tests are extremely hard, and questions are tricky and more in depth of the material than the powerpoints cover. Hard class and super hard test questions
I, thoroughly, did not enjoy this class. I showed up for many, if not all, classes although not required, and struggled immensely. The exams were created for you to fail. Got by with a B- or C+, I'm not pleased with that but I'm glad I passed. In retrospect, I would have taken this course at a local community college.
Wade makes good chapter power point notes, however you still need to read the online textbook because there is other important things that are left out of the notes. Attendence is not necessary but reading and MindTap is
This class is only 3 credits but I felt I was studying for a 4 hour credit class. His lectures are pretty interesting I'll give him that, but you need to know way more than that on the tests. I will go to all the review sessions and read the book because just going to the lectures and reviewing the slides is not enough.
Dave is probably the most interesting professor I have had, and he certainly makes class interesting with his side tangents and stories. However, his lectures do not really go over what is on the exam. I would still attend class, but unless you go to the TA sessions and actually read the textbook, you will not do well in this class.
