does'nt define anything, assumes alot, extreamly fast paced in class
not a good teacher at all, if you have him drop that ****
pretty good, if you don't do the assignments, you are screwed
A little too speedy in covering the material. Not a bad professor but he does assume that everyone understands the material as well as he does. If you like to slack off, stay away from this professor. You'll need to do all the assignments or your screwed.

if you go to class and do the assignments and ask questions during class you will do well. if you don,t understand somethign he is glad to spend extra time before he moves forward.
Take this guy if you are willing to work hard. Do that, and you will get on his good side and be very successful in his class.
Hard class, not porf. Very clear, may be bit too fast, but if you let him know, he will back up.
One of the best teachers at the university. Taught the class well, associated with students well, made the classes interesting. Fast paced at times, but will clarify when necessary.
He is unfair and 2 faced back stabbing jerk!!! I had family problems at home and he didnt care. I did well on his tests and screws me at the end. Thanks JERK!!!!
His tax class keeps you busy but you learn a lot. He doesn't understand that you have a life outside of his class.I had to show him proof when a family member died because I missed a project in Sr. Sem. He should spend less time in the sun playing golf.
One hell of a nice guy, loves golfing, the class was just hard. Do the work and the assignments and see him if you need help and you should be alright
Great professor, challenges you on exams so you actually have to study and have to have learned something. If you dont like to do the work and stay current you wont make it.

Don't expect to pass his tests if you take him. Everyone fails and he always compares you to previous classes.
He is my favorite professor that I've had here. He challenges the students, but I don't feel that he is unfair in his expectations. You will work hard in his classes, but your work does pay off in the end.
He's a nice teacher a little hard with the tests just do all the assignments he assigns and you should be fine. Just dont slack or give up or you are screwed
He is very Professional. Helps you out when you need it. Answers all emails. Just don't call him Sir. Exams are not easy nor hard. Just read the book. The cpu project is easy. No homework, or hand in assignments. He adapts to the class quite well--CURVE.
Worse accounting professor at KU. Thinks he is better than everyone. Will not help you unless you are an accounting major, if not you might as well just forget about passing. He's gonna fail you anyway. He has his favorites, loves it when you kiss his butt
He is a highly competent prof. His test are hard, but what the hell do you expect? Very helpful for class related material and getting into the real world of Accounting. I've learned a lot about accounting and what I want to do in the future from him
hes the man, most competant prof. going, very nice guy, tests arent the easiest, but c'mon its accounting, do your work youll be fine, id reccomendig picking up the work sheets that go with the book, big help!
He's a really nice guy. He will help you out if you need some clarification. It's a lot of work, you just have to make sure you truly understand the material. Tests are just like the homework.
Very hard professor who makes the class harder than it is. Goes very fast in class which makes it hard to understand at times.
Tests are mostly based on notes, but u gotta read to understand the concepts. Tests are NOT EASY! U gotta study, do the homework and try to understand it and u should be ok. Go to class b/c he does explain things pretty well and he answers questions ok if u have them. Just study and practice!
his lectures are interesting...tests are really hard u must understand the material...must know both, the problems and the terms to be able to do well...sometimes he cureves...he does offer help if u need it over all a good teacher.
He's a good guy and has a good sense of humor. He expects you to work so be prepared. Tests were similar to homework so stay with it.
he is a really good teacher. hard but good. he is funny and he is very into what he is teaching. he expects you to do the homework before you come to class. he goes over the homework also. and he has no probelm with helping. let him know that you are having problems if you bomb the first test.
Wagaman IS the man. I took him for both and I have learned more in his class than any other by far. His class can be a little demanding because you do have to go to class but your guaranteed to learn because he has a profound knowledge of his profession. These were the only 8:oo classes I ever went to AND stayed awake. I will take all his classes!
From not remembering much from Acct I I did pretty well in his class. He was clear and helpful in explaining things and tests weren't too bad either.
I tried in his classes and still only managed a C with the curve good teacher but grades really hard on the tests
he is not very helpful
his class is ridiculously hard.he expects you to come to class knowing everything and he doesnt explain things well at all. he flies through everything expecting you to know it all.he's a jerk and not helpful.if you let him know you're having difficulties he'll say "o well, you didnt put enough time into it!" JERK!! dont take any of his classes!!
his class is pretty tough. i would definitely not recommend taking any of his classes

Wagaman is a fair prof. If you go to class and pay attention, you will do fine. He is willing to help you if you have questions, and if you need more help, there is SI and tuitoring.
The messages on this site are VERY FALSE about Wagamam.Morons hate accounting and blame him for their own mistakes. Can't say enough good about him.Extremly fair when it comes to grading, honest, down-to-earth, funny, witty, conducts very well-organized lectures and his exams are perfectly challenging-goes over every problem.Great class all around
Great guy outside of class, but class is difficult. He's not a liberal grader (takes any opportunity to reduce points off of assignment). He doesn't like to help too much outside of class. In fact, I think he wants to see you fail, which is a disgrace for any teacher.
he makes this class a lot harder than it has to be. he tries hard to teach it as well as he can, but it seems like he expects you to already know some things. you'll learn a lot, but hes a tough teacher, especially on a kutztown level.
Really hard class he really knows what he is talking about but thinks everything is common sense well it is if youve been doing acct for 20 yrs when its your 2nd semester its a lot harder ... if you dont know a lot about acct take another teacher
Prof Wag is a great guy and a great teacher. Yes, he makes classes more difficult and that is so we learn and aren't handed everything on a platter. He makes us think so we will be able to apply it in the real world. He is very helpful, inside and outside of class. He is always willing to take time to meet. I have him to thank for new great job :)
Prof Wagaman is a great teacher. He really takes the time to make sure you understand the material. He is very willing to help outside of class. The material is hard, so you really need to put in the effort... and it seems others are blaming him when they have trouble.
Prof wagaman is a great accounting professor, he is very helpful and defines things well. if you take the time to study for his class you'll do fine. his tests come from class assignments. I got a C in his class because i didnt work at it, he is not out to fail you, I got an A on a quickbooks project and he deducted as little points as possible.
Prof. Wagaman was the most helpful professor during my time at KU. He was always willing to listen and took the time to go over topics. He expected you to put forth your best effort and grading you accordingly. His expectations are not unrealistic. Accounting is not an easy subject and he does his best to prepare students for the "real world".
He truly cares about the students. He is extremely involved in helping students find internships. If you work hard and show up to the class you should do well in his class. A tip is to hang in there because he has a tendency to grade more harshly on tests in the begining than towards the end of the semester.
A lot of people dislike Prof. Wagaman, but for both of my general accounting courses he was a good professor. He does move fast, but that's expected in a college course. Just do the problems as you go if you think you're going to get lost, or just look over them before the tests, and you'll be just fine.
If you want to make accounting your career, this man will prepare you for the field. But if you think you can just show up and receive an A or B, you will fail spectacularly. On our first test, nine of the 18 kids in the class scored 45 or below. I got a C and was happy to get it. I learned more from Wagaman than any other professor at Kutztown.
Teaching Technique is great. I actually got and understood accounting. Test are exactly how he tells you they are going to be. Definitely buy the workbook so you can have the pre-printed sheets for homwework problems. Test problems are similar to homework. Go to class and do the homework and you will do fine. He goes over everything.
Nice guy but extremely hard. When I went to ask him for help he treated me like I was some sort of idiot. He expects you to know everything, and his tests are really hard. I went to every class, and did every assignment, I even went to the tutoring sessions and studied for hours before his tests. 1st test, 58, 2nd, 41...I had to drop his class
Only passed 121 cause I had accounting in high school. he does not do a good job at all teaching. he sux. took him for 122 had to drop. taking with grant and have almost a perfect. Take grant at all costs. he explains the material.
He is a hard teacher. Plays favorites too. I had the same grades as this other girl and she got a B and I got a C. If you dont kiss his but he will give you a bad grade.
He is the best accounting teacher out there. He makes the information very clear, and the tests are straight up. The homework problems look very similar to the test problems. He seems to grade fairly and helps you out if your grade is close to a higher one.
This guy is a TERRIBLE proff....he definately plays favorites and is a jerk when u go up and ask him questions...dropped this rediculous class because i was failing and took it fall semester with Patrick and got A's on all her tests....dont waste ur time taking this class unless ur a girl
Worst prof I have ever had. Doesn't know how to teach the course in a manner where at least 50% of his students could understand it. Do the homework assignments b/c you go over them in class. Tests are not easy, so make sure you STUDY STUDY STUDY! Unlucky if you have him as a prof, but try to follow along. He will try to help you if you go to him.
Don't take if you are just trying to get through Accounting, otherwise he is one of the best profs at KU. He really knows his stuff and is up front with what is going to be on the tests. Just show up and take the class seriously and you should be fine
I think Prof. Wagaman is an amazing professor. I definitely struggled with this class, but I made an effort and only missed one class. He's a funny guy, and says some crazy stuff, but in a cute way. He's not bad to look at for an older guy too. I think I want to take him for Managerial next semester. Go to class and like he says "STAY CURRENT"
Very good professor, he really knows his material. If you plan on majoring in accounting take him. He's one of the best accounting professor at explaining the material. His test are similar to the homework questions, but a little harder. I didn't think he was that hard, i got an easy A. But u if don't go to class or do your homework you will fail.
Prof Wagaman is an Awesome teacher and he really knows the subject matter. You have to do the work to succeed and study the material to get the grade you want. He will defiantly help you out. Study at least an hour a day and do the work and that's what he expects. He still remembers me from one class I had with him over two years ago.
Wagaman can be a good professor if he wouldn't assume that you know everything. READ THE BOOK, do the homework, go to class and study because if you don't, there is no way to pass this class. He does give a decent curve (brings the highest grade to 100) but the tests are still pretty hard. I study, go over the hw and still only managed to get a C.
You really need to read the chapters and DO THE HOMEWORK. Believe him when he says STAY CURRENT. I took him for SummerI and you really had to stay on top of things. I thought he was a great teacher in making sure you understood everything. I reviewed the homework and study guide to prepare for tests and received A's.
One of the best professors in KU. If you want to be good at acc better take him. He gives good amount of information maintaining a good quality of education. Definitely I recommend this professor to students who have some ambitions, very good professor.
Not a bad class. Just make sure you go to class and write down everything he says in order to do well on the test. My suggestion is to redo all your notes prior to taking the test since its open notes tests. Tests are still challenging and the projects are pretty hard as well. If you do all the work and put some extra effort you should get a B or C
ugh good luck getting through this class with a passing grade. wagaman knows what he's talking about but his tests are ridiculously hard. drop it now.....
Test are impossible. There is a project that he gives you little to no clue on what to do.
Wags is the man. He likes people who like good music. I was wearing a Josh Ritter shirt and he gave me a high-five. Coolest prof in all the land. Yes his tests are hard, yes i got a A, but having Wags as a prof is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Oh, and one time I golfed with Wags, fun as heck.
Nice guy, a bit crazy, but knows what hes teaching. Very important to attend class or you will fail. Test are very hard and gives a lot of homework that he grades.
This guy is, by far, the best and overall easiest prof to take - esp for non-majors. i had previously failed financial acctg and i don't like the subject.. but he made it seem like i was quite able to do the coursework. he helps you out if you need it.. enjoys being friendly with the students... i definitely reccomend him!!!
Professor Wagaman is an all-around great guy. He knows his stuff. Terrific sense of humor and vast knowledge of college basketball too.
He was the worst teacher ever. If this is your first time taking accounting and you are not good with math, DO NOT take him. Tests are extremely hard. He does curve but it doesn't help too much so don't count on it.
Knows accounting very well. read the chapter, do the assigned problems. tests come DIRECTLY from the homework problems and quizzes. work and you WILL pass.
This guy is by far the worst teacher in the entire school. Tax is a hard subject to grasp, but he teaches the class as if we know everything there is to know about Tax. The worst part is that hes the only prof that teaches the course.
This class is very hard in my opinion. You must put a lot of time into the material or you won't do good. It's as simple as that. He does his best to try and make something difficult to teach as clear as he can. Keep doing the homework problems over before the test, it helps!
Good professor. Class and material is tough. I suggest going to class EVERYDAY, tests are tough but material is based off of the homework problems, practice them time and time again. Be prepared to work hard in this course. I worked extremely hard and managed to get a B my first time. Many people failed the second time around so slackers beware.
wasn't clear in lectures. Expects you to know so much information for a test and not enough time to finish the test. He says he will expect one thing but then grade you for another. Only allowed us to use a one page cheat sheet but now lets his class use open notes and his tests are still hard. KU needs another tax acc prof and senior sem. prof
this guy is ROUGH. very difficult class assumes you can memorize 150 pages per tax exam. this guy was VERY DIFFICULT, tried my hardest got a C.
Most students struggled in his class because it was open book/notes and they did not study. This is TAX accounting... the USA has the most complex tax code in the world so you must read each chapter twice and study the homework problems. students didnt study and blamed wagaman for failing. tough tests but he's a fair grader. worked and I got an A
There are so many unfair comments about this professor. He is a great teacher! You can learn a lot in his class. He has a great personality and charming smile. I had fun in his class. The bottom line: If you want an easy A without much work, you should avoid him. You should take him if you truly want to learn about accounting.
the guy was the worst teacher i had in the COB. what he taught was nothing like the test, completely difficult in every way possible. if you can avoid him do so
Wag is a great guy, the course was not too bad he is very clear with examples took it during the summer so like any other summer course its rushed but he tried hard to make sure we understood. the test are hard but he does explain things well so i made it out with a B. Cool guy
completely and utterly hate this class. Wagaman is a really nice guy but a HORRIBLE teacher. I always felt lost and confused and the tests didn't correlate with the homework as much as I wouldve hoped. As an accounting major theres no way to avoid this class so just prepare for the worst. Attendance is always taken and exams are always rushed.
Avoid his class if possible. Test are 10 multiple choice then 7 open ended questions. Test are impossible and he always ends up curving test but students still fail. He gives no credit for the homework's but expects them to be completeted.
Incredibly intelligent and able put things in plain terms, but PAY ATTENTION in lecture. He is one of the hardest acc profs but he cares a LOT. DO THE HOMEWORK. It's not mandatory, but helps you learn and all tests problems were like the HW. People say they failed but they took notes the entire time, didn't listen well in class and didn't retain it
nooo nooo nooo this class is a nightmare run the other way!! i tried my hardest and got a C. I dont think anyone in our class passed 1 of the exams. He expects so much of you as if you took a tax class before and expects the most complex tax rules to be simple for the class. This class caused me an obnoxious amount of stress for the semester.
I never took accounting in high school, but somehow I managed to do decent in this class. He grades with a curve. Must buy textbook. There were 4-5 tests. He takes attendance, or at least did in the beginning first weeks. Nice guy, but he teaches slightly different than the book sometimes making it confusing.
All around good guy. Had him for Tax I and Tax II. Tests are not a walk in the park, and he changed from open note to closed note between semesters which caused a lot of stress. Very energetic guy. Wants (and expects) the best from his students. If he goes to open note, and you prepare well, you can succeed.
Prof. Wagaman is notoriously tough no doubt about it. Those who major in accounting have him for Tax and Senior Sem. Tax is very demanding and requires a lot of hours into studying the material. Senior Sem is more laid back and as he himself puts it, an easy B. He rarely gives extra credit and requires attendance even though it does not count.
Good professor, more than willing to help. Does not let students get by merely memorizing the material, you have to learn it in order to do well which greatly helps in the long run. Tests are difficult but if you put in the time and effort you will get a lot out of the class with a decent grade.
Prof. Wagaman is a really great teacher. Accoutning is a really hard course but he is very clear and tries to make sure everyone understands the material. He is a tough guy at times but he is really nice. Would recommend!!
Wagaman is a good guy but an awful teacher. He expects you to know how to do everything and doesn't teach the material. If you ask a question you better make sure it's a good one otherwise he'll make you feel stupid. Gives a ridiculous amount of homework. I'm in the middle of finals week and he gave 7 hw assignments and a 2 hour quiz to complete.
He knows his stuff, he's a real good guy an adviser and I would say he's a good teacher. But my problem is that he's extremely tough and teaches us like were graduate students. On our first test the highest grade was an 80. The second test the highest was an 73. I think that pretty much says how his class is taught.
You have to work hard to do well in the class. He does curve the exams depending on how the class did. There are three exams and a final. The first exam is really easy and i thought the second one was the hardest. Make sure you study the homework from the book because the questions on the exams look like them more. Don't skip class and goodluck.
A very nice and funny/sarcastic professor but has pretty tough tests that are very detail oriented. Very helpful if asked for help and is always open to help but also goes at a fast speed for material learned. Homeworks are easy but expects you to retain material quickly too
Went into this class thinking I wanted to be in the accounting field and his method completely shut that down for me. He rants and just goes over homework answers that you have to teach yourself anyway. He is very unclear about what is going to be on the test and then you get the test and it is nothing close to what you thought it would be.
Prof. W. is a phenomenal teacher. He makes it very clear about what's important. Do your HW and prepare for class. Those who do poorly in his class don't do the HW. If you simply do the HW you can ask him questions when he works out problems in class. He encourages active participation and is passionate. His class is hard because accounting is hard
DO THE HOMEWORK. Do the homework twice. The material, by nature, is tough, dry, and opaque; however, he manages to make it clear. DO THE HOMEWORK. The tests are difficult, but are open notes; if you did the homework, you'll do well on the tests.
Like others have said, DO THE HOMEWORK. Tax is tough, but its not unbearable. Wagaman's a good guy, he curves the exams and is forgiving of bad scores if he sees you're actually putting in effort. If you pay attention in class and take good notes, the exam questions will look very familiar.
Professor Wagaman is a great guy, I have him for tax and intermediate 1. I really enjoy the tax class since it is relatable to our lives. He lets you bring notes in for the open-ended part of the test. Intermediate 1 is hard, tests aren't open note. Quizzes infrequently, but they happen and occasional assignments to be turned in.
He is a great guy in terms of personality and is very knowledgeable in both Tax Accounting and Golf. He does expect a lot from his students and the tests were challenging, but the US tax system is anything but easy. Not only DO THE HOMEWORK for this class, but also UNDERSTAND THE HOMEWORK.
Good guy, but grades like he expects us to all be Grad students. Seems he doesn't realize not everyone in his class is planning on getting their CPA. Tests are extremely hard, as he takes off points for things like "sloppy handwriting". The class averages are always around 65. Im a 3.5gpa senior and I scored D's on all his tests w/ heavy studying.
Solid accounting professor. You will either love him or hate him, depending on your personality, as he comes across very strong on the topics in class. However, this is only because he really is passionate about what he teaches, and it makes learning the material that much easier. The exams are difficult, but most of it is open notes.
He's very knowledgeable and puts his heart into teaching. He's definitely passionate about what he teaches. His classes are difficult, but he's very helpful if you go to him over his office hours. It's true, his tests are brutal, but I think he's trying to prepare his students for the CPA exam, which, I believe, is much more brutal!
He is a great professor if you want to prepare for the CPA exam. You need to work hard and understand the material in his class. Prepare to dedicate long hours of studying to pass. Doing the homework, reading the book, and practicing the homework over and over will make his tests not as "unbearable". If you dedicate the time, you will do fine
He's a really nice guy, but very old-fashioned. I couldn't really learn from his lectures so I had to practice and teach myself. His tests are definitely brutal, even in introductory accounting. He's part of the reason I realized I'm not cut out for a major in accounting.
Here is the truth about Dr. Wagaman. I understand online classes are not going to be the same, but this is not my first one. I took ACC121 with him over the summer and not once did he teach. He did not explain anything or help in anyway. All he did was pick apart you answers. He told us to use the book and that is it. He gets paid to do nothing
Best accounting teacher I ever had. The class was brutally hard, but he kept lectures interesting and engaging. Tests are HARD but he's good with giving partial credit when you get part of a problem correct and plenty of extra credit opportunities.
He is passionate about what he does, but he teaches as if the class already knows what he's talking about. A very tough grader and the tests are very hard.
Let me preface this by saying, accounting itself is very hard. But if there are any other professors available, TAKE THEM. Be ready for 2-4 hour long homework's and near impossible tests. He teaches as if you're already an accounting wiz, and you walk out more confused than when you walked in. Be ready to teach yourself most of the information.
1 good thing I can say about him is that he is forced to curve all the tests in order to save his reputation. Class averages will vary from 40-60%. Be ready to teach yourself and dedicate about half of every day to this class alone. There will be 5-6 HARD tests. I couldn't even see my family on Easter because I had to study for a test that Monday.
Awesome!! always makes time to eat and make his sandwiches !
