Weinshilboum is a really cool, nice guy. He lives and breathes writing, I think. He knows how to teach and make it fun. He'll show you the values of writing and try to help you whenever. He's 'that' cool. there was never EVER a dull moment in his class. :-)

Dave a cool teacher! He tell you exactly what he wants. He even give you an example of the assignment. Pretty easy! Just be on time! Don't turn on yur cellphone. Or turn in your work late without reason. Lotz of fun!

The easiest english class I've ever taken. Very lenient on a lot of things. He asks for 45 journal entries by the end of the semester, but I did 20 and got full credit. If you know how to write, this will be a very easy class.

If you can take him for English there is no reason why you should have to go through 18 weeks of boredoom with some other professor. Understands you need this for GE and will make this class fun along the way, as well as prepare for you for future courses. Hid dorkiness adds to the light class atmosphere.

WOW... this class is so FUN and Interesting. The professor is a very cool guy. At time, he could be goofy. Very down-to-earth. Grading is fair. If you do the work and actually put EFFORT into it then getting an A is a piece a cake. He also includes extra credits!!! He touches base on current issues. There are a lot of group works but very easy.

Finaly an english teacher that actually tought me something. This teacher deserves respect from all his students and most english teachers (especially Mrs. Curtis, she should take this teacher, he would teach her how to teach). About 5 essays 3-4 pages, one 8 page essay, and grades accordingly, attendence only matters when it comes to final grades.

You NEED to do the work he's not nice about being lazy and he is not very forgiving. But! He is very helpful and is very easy to pass if you just do what he assigns everyweek and don't put it off til the last minute!

Hes funny and very willing to help and make you understand assignments. Read the books your supposed to and keep up with writing rough drafts and what not and youll do good. Kind of difficult but managable

buy the books, there are like three. His essays are all based on the books so read them and youll do well. his final is a grammar quiz (for people with b's and lower). the last paper is a research paper. there are book quizzes. very helpful. can be scary at times because he picks on random people when the class seems "tired". overall great class.

Great professor, would take him again anytime. Smart and passionate about English. Fun and quirky. You get the grade you work for, not extremely difficult but not difficult. If you enjoy reading and learning you will love this class, if you slack off and hate school, you will get the usual grade, but it will be fun doing it.

The text are 3 diff novels (cheap). Wonderful professor. Spices up lectures with hilarious personal stories. Class workshops that help with papers. Also he is very helpful and will review your work. Explains things very very clearly and is inspiring. A professor no one should pass up.

Great teacher! He's very easy going but he does have a strict rule about being late. He likes to tell jokes so if you have jokes, let him hear them. Most homework consists of 1-2 page essays and there are grammar quizes every once in a while. Overall...VERY EASY!

Professor W is a very fair grader. The work load for my 8week class was moderate/medium. It's not an easy class, but if you take the class seriously, you will do very well. Class-time is used productively and activites are always fun. Prof. Weinshilboum is a hella cool kat, and is very easy to make friends with. I highly recommend him.

I am actually surprised I was totally interested in this class. Usually, I would dwell and complain about reading 3 books in the semester (non-fictions books at that). But he made class VERY interesting and VERY enjoyable. All I can say is, if I can get an A, so can you! Read!! interesting books

This is the second time I've taken a class from David. His lectures are fun and entertaining. The assignments are straightforward. His assigned reading is affordable and easy to digest. Show up for class, participate, and ask questions and you'll do great.

Dave is a really great and super funny professor. I absolutely recommend him. Yes, he isn't an easy grader, but I deserved all the grades I got. All of the journals you write will be able to be worked into your papers, which is really nice. He also has several opportunities for extra credit. TAKE HIM! I hate English, but loved his class.

I took his english 300 class that was half lecture and half online. We would have 1 class meeting every week and each class consisted of a quiz prior to reading a couple chapters from the 3 books we read. Be prepared to read because the quizes will either make you or break you. Final is fun to write about even though its 8 pages. Good professor!!!

Weinshilboum hosts the best Creative Writing Class at CRC. I've taken him twice. Easy as heck to pass his class (if you do the assignments, if not, why are you in college?) and the most inspirational professor I've ever had. Every class will open new avenues of thinking with your writing. He will make you a more confident, thoughtful writer.

This professor was fun. This is the first time I have seen no one drop from a class, with everyone showing up. I had a problem with a group member and the professor squashed the problem immidiately. I would defintely take this class again. Very clear criteria on what he wants on paper, and has a D2L forum up to talk with group members.

Best professor I've had in college. Took English writing with him twice ( writing 51 and 300). He's not the kind of professor that just gives out A's but he definitely helps you to try and get the highest grade you can. A very honest grader but also works with you on how you can improve. He even helped me with my classes outside of English.

I loved his class and I try to take all of my English classes with him. No textbook for this class. If he had us read any short stories he provided the copies.

Make sure you read the books assigned. A quiz will be given after each few chapters read outside of class. After taking quiz usually discuss book, what you liked or disliked about the book. What stood out etc. Essays after each book finished, and he always gives out a ton of chances for extra credit. Take advantage of it all, great professor!

Hilarious teacher with a love of grammar. Three books, all with quizzes here and there and of course an essay attached to them. The books are a bore but they are a must so if you hate forced reading, this class is NOT for you. If you get an A & near perfect attendance, you skip out on the grammar final. There's a 10 page research paper as well.

My favorite professor so far. He explains essay assignments clearly and goes in depth on what he is expecting. He answers any question you have and provides clear ideas on what to write for the thesis, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Read the assigned books to pass the quizzes and the grammar final is easy if u study. Provides extra credit too.

Prof. Weinshilboum is probably one of the best English professors at CRC. He is caring and hilarious. He provides a lot of extra credits for students to improve their grades. Warning! There will be a lot of readings and quizzes, but it's worth because the books he assigns will be very interesting.

Weinshilboum made me fall in love English all over again. He makes lectures fun, entertaining, while being informative. Yes you are going to have read a few books and write a couple papers, but it is an English class. He also gives great feedback on where you need to improve on. Weinshilboum is a fair grader and gives lots of extra credit.

He's the best professor ever! His lectures are so interesting and funny. I learned a lot from him. His grammar quizzes are so easy. I recommend him!

Weinshilboum is one of the best professors I have had. He gives really good feedback on your papers, he definitely helped me become a better writer. I would recommend him to anyone. Oh he also gives some extra credit opportunities!

You have a few papers throughout the semester, but nothing too heavy or difficult. You read a novel, a play, and some poems. He does make you talk and collaborate in groups a lot. There is a group project at the end. I personally don't like working in groups, but it wasn't too bad. He gives us an option to 'fire' a member if they don't do anything.

Prof. Weinshilboum is one of the best English professors at CRC. He is extremely funny and approachable. Despite the fact that he had NEVER been an easy A grader, he really cares about students grades, attempting to give students the privilege to boost their grades. Essentially, he is a reading addict, so be willing to read in his class.

Mr. Weinshilboum did a fantastic job relieving my English professor who had trouble finishing out the semester due to injury. Mr. W is super nice, has a really funny sense of humor, and actually teaches you English. He's also cool because he has a handle on modern pop culture. He isn't a difficult grader either. Do yourself a favor and take him!

A few recommendations for students who are planning to take his class: Be prepared to work hard, and do not complain. Weinshilboum is very approachable and willing to help his students, so do not be afraid to ask for help. He loves grammar, so expect grammar quizzes (super easy). I learned a lot in his ENGWR 300, and I definitely recommend him.

He is the best professor I have had. I took him for 300 and 301. He's hilarious which makes the class fun. I would recommend to show up to every class because it will be worth it once the final comes around. He assigns good books to read and your journals connect to your essays which helps with the writing. He also gives very good feedback

Weinshilboum is awesome. By far the most fun teacher I've ever had. Even if you don't like English, I think it would be hard not to enjoy his class! You can tell he really cares about what he teaches and he gives good, detailed feedback that helps you to improve your writing. I highly recommend him.

Weinshilboum is amazing. He is so down to earth and funny. He really does want you to pass and helps out in any way he can. HIs lectures are interesting and make sure to show up to every class! It will be worth it in the end :)

His class is so informal. He curses in class as form of jokes, makes you laugh. At the beginning ur grade will be low, but work for it and do e.c. He also grades you base on how much effort u put in (he knows). Show up! I know for a fact that i'm a bad writer, but he polished me and helps me gain confident in my writing. He's more than a teacher.

Honestly has set my standards so high as to what is an amazing college professor. He is super funny, caring, and the class always feels refreshing. Attendance is only mandatory if you want to be eligible to receive all the extra credit he offers. And he only requires 2 reading books which can be easily library books. Overall 20/10 for him!

Pretty easy class with lots and lots of extra credit opportunities. Weinshilboum really cares about his students and has a great sense of humor. He is a difficult grader but it is because he wants his students to grow and become better writers. Probably the best teacher I have had at CRC.

Professor Weinshilboum was by far the best professor Ive had. He loves his job and is always willing to help. Make sure to read the books required and if you have an A towards the end of the semester you wont have to take the rhetoric final. I will be taking him for ENGWR301 because I loved his teaching and I learned a lot.

Such an amazing professor that I have so far. Hes always there for students! He even notice the quietest students in the classroom. He never let anyone alone in my honest opinion. Participation matters too.

I am really satisfied with this professor. He makes the class really interesting and easy. He gave us a lot of extra credit opportunity. So that will bump your grade a lot. Out of all the English professors Ive taken, Weinshilboum is the best one. Hes able to pin point your weaknesses and strengths. If you need clarification on his feedbacks, hell tell you. Hes definitely one to make you a better writer. I enjoyed his class, teaching style, and personality very much! Definitely recommend others to take him!

Weinshilboum is the best professor i've ever had. He makes the class very easy although it requires work. I've taken him for three semesters and he was really an inspirational to me. he made me love reading, and thought me to think critically in everything in life. you'll get to write essays with very interesting topic, so you'll never get bored.

My favorite professor!!! He totally made it fun, and interesting. I feel like Im a better writer and understand grammar and sentence structures, finally lol. Just come to class do the assignments. AWESOME CLASS. Offers weekly zoom meetings which arent mandatory but very beneficial and very enjoyable. Not too many assignments and a reasonable amount of reading. Assigned reading highlights many authors with diverse backgrounds. Please be forewarned, this professor has an unnatural dislike of Fanny packs and Pumpkin spice.

I L O V E Professor Weinshilboum! He was my first introduction to college classes, and I don't think I've had a better teacher since. I am so happy I've been able to learn from him. Definitely take his class if you want an absolute gem of a teacher who's really kind and informative in grading. PS: Bring up fanny packs/pumpkin spice. the best :)

Weinshilboum has been my favorite professor thus far and was a great intro for me to the way of college courses. He was helpful and the work was very minimal. Only 3 essays and some discussion board posts. Will be taking him for ENGWR 301. Only negative is that he doesn't give out As for the first essay. Otherwise he has a great personality!

One of the best teachers at CRC. I took him for ENGWR 300/ ENGWR 3031. Gives clear instructions and works with you. He's totally hilarious and has fun lectures and discussions. You don't need to buy a textbook, but you need books (novels). There's quizzes, but you can pass w/ spark notes. He's a great teacher and genuinely cares about his students.

This prof was really nice even though the class was online. He's goes easy when grading essays which is a nice bonus.

I was nervous of taking his class at first because he was my first in person college class, but his class was easy to handle. Mostly just do your work and youll pass. Also read, theyre not difficult readings theyre actually really good and Im not much of a reader but his class definitely got me interested. Id highly recommend taking his class.

Took Weinshilboum for ENGWR 300 in summer 2020 online. Had a great experience so I took him again for 301 but in-person this time. Honestly, such a straightforward and enjoyable class! I would recommend him for any English class at CRC. Also, he allows you to miss two classes. Multiple papers, 1 group project/presentation at the end. Best professor

This teacher is a gem amongst many at CRC or Los Rios in general. Always supportive and takes his time to explain every detail to make sure every student understands the concept. He talks about his personal life and gives the students something to relate to and makes the class just more interesting by just being him.

Honestly he is one of my best professors at this community college. He is hilariously entertaining and straight forward with assignments and teaching. He is also very friendly to students and is up to date with his pop culture. Again highly recommend this professor for anyone who happens to struggle with English (On a good Note: he brings donuts).

I cannot recommend Prof Weinshilboum enough! I'm not the best student when it comes to homework and getting things in on time but he was willing to work with me to make sure I get the most out of this class and that I wouldn't fall behind. He makes this class so fun and he does an excellent job at getting the material across.

Professor Weinshilboum is a hilarious professor, and he makes going to college fun. He does give great feedback for your assignments, but he can grade a little hard when it comes to some of the assignments and essays. He is definitely a great professor, you just have to be an above average writer to get really good grades.

BEST ENGLISH PROFESSOR EVER. ONE OF MY FAVORITES BY FAR! He works really well with kids who have adaptation plans. HES HYSTERICAL! and loves to have fun. During the 3rd or 4th week he brought donuts to class! Get ready to read a novel and have pop quizzes on it!

He always makes me laugh every day. He chooses articles and books that is not boring. His lectures are easy to follow. But, you have to put a good amount of effort in his writing to get the grade you wanted. He gives good feedback in essay assignments even though you will not know how many points you get from each category in the rubric. Take him.

English has never been my strong suit, until he made me realize it was and it truly can be anyone's. He is amazing. I'd give him 10 stars if I could. He was my first experience to college and all my nerves immediately died. I was told that professors would be harsh and strict but he was super relaxed and chill. He likes students on an individual level and as long as you talk with him you will always be heard.
