He teaches how to understand ideas, not just how to memorize steps to solve a problem.
Dave is a great guy. Yet, he still lecture to us like we're UCLA kids that already understand the material. I don't think he realizes that more than 75% of the class is not paying attention because it is darn near impossible to follow him. He makes a simple problem that should take 2 minutes into one that take 30. He's way too used to Calculus kids
He's a great person but his lecture make no sense. He makes a simple problem uneccessarily complicated and ends up confusing the whole class. He is hard to follow sometimes and his handwriting is really difficult to read. Definitely would not recommend to anyone who isn't already familiar with the material.
His lectures at the beginning were a bit confusing but as long as you go to class you'll be fine. He gives practice exams before the midterm and the final and they help a great deal. He likes answering questions in class so don't hesitate to ask. He claims he gives out pop quizzes often but expect very few.
super nice guy test are really easy one of my favorite professors does make stuff a little confusing. also practice test are almost identical to the actual test.
Weisbart is probably one of the nicest professors I've had. He truly cares about what you learn and take from his class rather than the grade you get. Chances are, if you go to his office hours, you'll pass the class simply because he's always so helpful and willing to put time into ensuring you know the material thoroughly.
Assigns weekly homework from the textbook, you must complete 8/10 homework assignments or else you fail the course. The weekly discussion quizzes, only 1/2 problems. He is welcoming & funny, attend office hours for extra help. Practice exams are identical to tests. His lectures can be confusing. He is a great teacher and wants you to succeed!
Professor Weisbart is a great person, but can be super confusing. Considering this was 8A, easy material, he would take a problem I thought I understood and turn it into something completely different. Also LOVES to talk about himself. And handwriting is nearly intelligible at times. His study guides are almost EXACTLY what's on the test though.
I took this class back in fall quarter when he was still a new teacher. He was still adapting so the class were the guinea pigs for tests, homework, etc. He is a great professor that wants students to learn but he makes everything confusing. Also had A LOT of homework from Aleks but he probably changed it bc it was too much to handle.
While lecture isn't mandatory he does occasionally do pop quizzes in lecture or will randomly take roll. He's a nice guy and a pretty cool professor but he tends to start rambling about something unrelated. Make sure to go to his office hours though! He also does Online quizzes in discussion (or additional lecture) every week as well as homework.
It's an easy but you still have to put effort. The practice midterm and final is similar to the actual exam, so make sure to study those. His not very organize and he's hard to reach. When you email him, he doesn't reply, so don't expect an email back. It's better if you go to his office hours. Quiz in discussion every week. Requires a book.
He has a lot of extra credit opportunities, make sure to do them. He goes on tangents in class, but other than that his lectures are okay. He tends to show his work in many steps, though it can be done in one. His practice tests help a lot! Weisbart is willing to help students outside of class so definitely take advantage of his office hours.
The concepts are really simple, however, he explains how to get the formulas and the meanings behind formulas, which is very confusing. Shows many excess steps, but he is a very cool professor & very funny.
The material that you learn can be easy at times but he manages to overcomplicate things. He makes 1 step problems into 5 step problems. His lectures are okay but can be hard to follow sometimes. Other than that, he is a great and caring guy and is willing to help students. Very approachable
Professor Weisbart's lectures are very heavy with information, so you should come to class if you want to pass. He uses ALEKS instead of a textbook which might seem like you will save money, but you have to pay for the prescription.
David was a great teacher. His lectures have a lot of information but the concepts are straightforward. Take advantage of his online office hours to reinforce the concepts you learn and just try your best. My favorite part about his class was that we were able to apply pre calculus concepts to solve Calculus/Physics type problems.
The most genuine, caring professor I have ever met. He really wants to see you succeed in all the things you pursue. He doesn't teach BS shortcuts that prohibit your ability to wholeheartedly UNDERSTAND the concepts. Take him if you want to learn. "Highschool teaches you how to be a mechanic. College teaches you how to be an engineer."-Davie
He make literally every topic more complicated than it should be. For a large portion of the class, the homework (both written and online) didn't even match what he was lecturing on. His lectures are lengthy and not a lot gets done, but if you miss them, you will do poorly. That being said, he is very genuine and kind and tries very hard for a pass
Weisbart usually just over explains a lot of topics. He's very lenient on due dates for homework. He's very caring and your success is his #1 priority, ask him and he'll help even if it means no sleep for him.
Weisbart always over explains everything however he is not a bad professor and is very kind. This exam are made for everyone to get a low score so its normal if you study hard and ask your TA for help and you will be fine
He's a cool guy, overall, but as a professor his workload was a lot. He gave weekly homework that took at least 2 hours every week. If you miss class, too bad that's the fault. You'll never understand what's going on. His lectures has example, but most of the time don't help when it comes to the homework
Great class. Funny professor and will explain things thoroughly.
It all depends on the TA that you have for the homework. During lecture he straight mobs through it with near to no break. However, he'll let you interrupt him if you don't know what the flip is going on to ask questions. Brilliant guy/
David makes no sense half the time. He pulls numbers from thin air and his new curriculum this year really made the students struggle. Average grade on the midterm was 60 leaning more towards the lower end. Over complicates the problems to the point where half the class can't keep up and so doesn't pay attention.
Lectures are very fast-paced/hard to follow & his handwriting is MESSY. He makes the class difficult/overcomplicated by explaining concepts in a way that make you approach math in unconventional ways. However, he's a really caring professor and genuinely wants you to succeed. He'll take the time to help you if you go to office hours.
This was a very difficult class as I already have trouble grasping some concepts in math. It was made even more difficult becauset he didn't have a straightforward method of teaching and confused me more than I was to begin with. In addition, the grading scale is complicated and grades are due today and I still don't know what my final grade is.
David Weisbart was a professor you would not want to take in your wildest dreams. He makes the tests so hard and thinks that once you're able to solve hard problems, the easy ones will be easy to solve. However, it does not work this way. The problems are way too hard and you will get demotivated solving them. overall, an awful class.
David is very accessible. He has office hours, and he devotes his attention to his students. If there was a concept that was hard to grasp, he would make sure to address it to the best of his abilities. His tests are hard, but the way he teaches math is very unique. Attendance is necessary to pass, and you cannot do just the bare minimum.
First with the positive! Dave has a great attitude and is super enthusiastic about what he teaches. However, this was definitely the hardest class I have ever taken, along with the lowest grade I ever received. Majority of students cannot keep up with his style of teaching. Difficult midterm and final. Not the best way to start off my college life.
this was the only class where i'd have to study days in advance. practice exams are similar to real ones, but when he posts the answers to the practice ones he doesn't explain well on how to do it. great guy, tough hw, has online office hours (web chatting) every wednesday. goes off-topic/makes things difficult. overall was really hard for me
Prof David Weisbart is a very nice guy, however he is a terrible professor. Lots of hw, YOU WILL NOT UNDERSTAND ANYTHING FROM LECTURE. TESTS ARE CRAZY HARD. AVOID IF YOU CAN!!!
Prof Dave Weisbart is a very humble, yet is a terrible, confusing, tough, intense professor. You will not understand the homework, will not understand the lectures. The online portion of this class is IMMENSE WORK, and the problems are roughly over 200 that do not pertain to the class. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS, I do not wish it on my worst enemy!!!!
Dave is an incredibly humble and really enthusiastic when it comes to teaching the course, the only downside is ... the way he teaches the course is less than desirable. He's a visual learner, so the course is taught visual heavy. Glance at your phone for 30 seconds to text back? He's on the next slide. Lots of Homework.
Dave is a great professor. Although his lectures were difficult to understand sometimes, he always explains things in detail. A great, caring and passionate guy. His office hours are very helpful, the midterms and final wasn't hard at all. I thought his class was fair. Wasn't hard if you attended all the lectures, discussions, and do all your work.
Dave is a really caring guy and is very accessible outside of class. He teaches the class as if everybody is super passionate about math and gets deep into hard proofs , but he's a brilliant and funny man. The homework load depends on your TA. You have to really pay attention and can only do well if you go to all office hours.
Dave did a really good job keep me invested in the math program. He forces you to try and learn, and if you don't try you're going to have a headache. If you just follow the mentality of "go to class then go home" you will absolutely do awful in this class; he teaches it more for science majors than he does for the average liberal studies kid.
nothing like HS pre-calc and even those who had taken calc had no idea what was going on. You need a really good T/a. The home-work is meant to be more difficult than the tests. I had to work extremely hard for the A. he makes everything SO confusing and explains simple things more intricately. I didnt learn anything from the class in the longrun
He's very nice guy and an amazing person. However his class was difficult but he realized that fact and sympathy on his students. Take him for any math course he teaches.
To be honest, this class (particularly the homework and midterms) was rather difficult at times, but if you show up to lecture and go out of your way to show him that you care about this class, he'll be more than willing to help you out. In fact, he's really helpful and friendly towards those who put in the effort. I'd definitely recommend him.
All you had to do was go to lecture. Some people found his lectures overcomplicated because they are used to doing math a certain way, he teaches you the fundamentals and helps you understand what you're doing. He lets you redo homework for full credit. Midterms are exactly like the study guide. Final is composed of q's from the midterms. EASY
attendance is not mandatory but go! he posts his annotated slides on ilearn. has in person and online office hours. put the effort you'll pass.
A very nice teacher; however, the lectures/course material was piss poor to say the least. Calculus is significantly easier than this "Pre-Calc" class with the massive amounts of overcomplication. This class makes rocket science look like elementary-type functions.
Nice guy but too fast and too confusing. He doesn't give clear solutions on his solutions page and doesn't elaborate on how to get the answers or why he does what he does. He breezes through the lecture without explaining anything and its a very homework/test heavy class. He gets answers wrong on his solutions page and it's basically a self study.
His lectures didn't help me at all because he taught the class as though the students already knew the material. Online videos and Chegg were my best friends this quarter. If you wanna do well on the exams, DO NOT study the homework. Follow the study guides he has on his website and you'll be fine.
ditched lecture 80% of the time tbh and plus I'm bad at math... but I also had friends who took ap calc ab/bc and they still didn't understand wtf this man was teaching... he teaches you the "basic fundamentals" but it's nothing like what you learned during high school... sometimes he goes on tangents about inspirational things during class...
He overcomplicated everything and expects you to do it his way. It's hard to understand certain things because he goes fast. go to his office hours and the TA office hours and tutoring because his lectures will confuse you a l ot
It's so weird that the student below is upset because "he teaches you the basic fundamentals" and that the class is "nothing like what you learned in high school." Such common and immature complaints. Isn't it the point to learn something new? You're in college now after all. Right? This was the best math class I've ever taken. Great guy too.
I will admit, David was quite the enigma. His lecture style was pretty unique, to say the least, but the dude was very caring and nice. The way he teaches math concepts can be confusing at first, but if you keep going to office hours and really try to do the practice problems, then I'd say it's very possible to get an A in the course :)
I just finished his Math 5 class. I gotta agree with the two comments below. It was definitely different, but once I realized what it was all about, it was REALLY good! Come in with an open mind and you'll learn a lot. I've never learned so much in a class. Follow the advice in the syllabus and ask lots of questions. You can get an A. I did!
His lectures are overcomplicated, full of proofs, and ties way back into the basics. Homework is nothing like the examples he goes over in lecture. Don't even bother going. Just do all of his practice problems, and you'll be ready for the midterms and finals. Don't rely on your prior knowledge of math from high school. Study hard!
He posts all lecture notes online before lecture so you can come in prepared. He teaches everything from basic principles, so you really don't have to memorize and can really understand things. Exams are like the practice problems, homework, and worksheets, and he reviews these problems as examples in lecture. Don't miss lecture. I loved his class!
Honestly, if you have a brain you can easily pass his class. His test questions are extremely simple and he provides practice problems that mirror the test. I been to class four times. First day, First and Second Midterm, and Final and I easily got an A. Gives around 3 percent in extra credit too, so super easy
I had Weisbart for Precal and I thought at first the class would be a self-learning nightmare with his complex lectures. But its honestly an eye-opening yet challenging course. To get a B confidently, you need to commit to the optional homework, go to T.A office hours not his, and really focus on his study guide practice exams and that's it.
I took precalc with him and didn't really get why he did things the way he did at the time. Now, it's a year later and I get it. It helped me so much with my later math and physics classes. He gives you everything you need to do well, just trust him and study hard. It was the best class I've ever had. He's very kind and never makes you feel dumb.
Weisbart can make some concepts a little confusing. He is very understanding, very involved, and has a clear passion for subject. All lectures posted online but it helps to go to lecture and see how problems are worked through. Lots of hw but hes lenient with grading. If he knows you went to office hours and tried, hes lenient on final grade.
The way he teaches is much more valuable and easier than what you learned in high school once you take the time to understand what he is doing. Don't skip class if you struggle with math and try to go to office hours as much as possible because that's where you'll get the most help. Do the study guides because they're very similar to the exams!!!
The class overall was terrible. He tries to teach math in his own way, so the methods he uses are often very intricate. The homework is very annoying and the only questions that matter are the boxed ones. The tests have three sections, but the midterm is much easier than the final. There is somewhat of a curve in the end.
He is pretty nice but I just did't like how he teaches (He teaches really fast). 30% of total grades comes from your home work and worksheets. So make sure to submit all your works if you are not good at math.
I was an A student when it came to taking math in high school but David made this class so much harder than it needed to be. Unfortunately he is the only Math005 professor which means I was stuck with him.
His lectures are confusing, but because I took precalculus in high school, I was able to self-learn on my own. His syllabus is helpful because he gives examples and practice problems on there. Go to his online office hours if you need help on homework or a lesson he taught in class, he will try to clarify. Con: he spends too much time on 1 problem.
He explains problems very carefully and happily answers questions. He teaches you how to reason rather than just have you memorize steps. Some students think that he overcomplicates things, but actually, the ideas he teaches makes calculations so much simpler. I loved his lectures and I'll really miss this class. Not easy, but worth it!
David is a heart-felt professor, he ensures his students get the best grade they can get. He has weekly quizzes, but they are stress free. He automatically gives you 100% just for submitting, and an extra .2 (a total of 1.2/1) if answered correctly. His way of teaching is very different from HS precal, so don't come into lecture w/ low expectations
David wants you to do well. If youre willing to put the work in, he is willing to help. Go to ALL his office hours. If your TA is good at teaching, go to theirs too. ALWAYS learn from your mistakes on midterms and quizzes bc theyll pop up later. Get to know David, hes a great guy. Hardest math class Ive taken, but so interesting and worth it.
I had the opportunity to have Dr. Weisbart as my precalc professor. Let me just say, I did not know I was capable of learning so much about precalc in such little time. He is the most caring and compassionate teacher I have had. I strongly recommend you go to his office hours because HE IS THERE TO HELP!! Start working on syllabus problems asap!!
David is the most chill person. Just go to his office hours because the problems he goes over in office hours helps with exams as they show up again on midterms and the final. Also go over your two midterms and quizzes as it repeatedly shows up on exams especially the final.
WORST professor ever! David is a nice and chill person, but when it comes to teaching, he's the worst. He provides a syllabus with tons of examples (only thing I liked about his class). Study A LOT, and be prepare for a horrible ride.
Professor Weisbart is an okay professor. I recommend going to his online office hours because he goes over the worksheets and gives you the answers. 2 midterms and 1 final, if you put effort into learning the materials, you'll be okay. But it's hard and the worksheets don't always match with the lecture.
he is a great guy and a caring professor and only wants you to succeed however, he is quite hard to understand. Its important to go to ALL lectures bc you can earn easy points/xtra credit just for doing the attendance quizes but I always self taught myself the info outside of class. Review sample midterms and final!!! cannot stress tht enough
Dr. Weisbart could be a tad eccentric at times, but at the end of the day he was a great professor who was clearly passionate about what he was talking about. He was a tad fast at times, but if you can keep up and take good notes you'll pass his class.
Professor Weisbart is an amazing professor. Although some material was pretty difficult, he was so helpful and offered extra online office hours and review sessions. You definitely have to put in some work, but it is all worth it in the end. He really appreciates when students try their best and show improvement. Such a great guy.
This is one of the hardest classes I've ever taken. He ran through lectures so fast with so much to teach, I could never process it. I did all of the hw, every office hour, and took his class seriously. I failed both midterms but miraculously got an A on the final. He is very nice, but was an extremely difficult class. Everyone struggled.
If you understand math already, then you will be fine. Although he is a math genius, it doesn't mean he is a great at teaching. He expects you to know when he takes shortcuts in solving problems so you should always ask him show his work whenever he teaches. ALWAYS GO TO YOUR DISCUSSION CLASSES AND YOUR TA OFFICE HOURS, it will help in the long run
Took this in Fall 2019 and his class was not bad. He's a good teacher and honestly if you just do the hw and follow along during lectures, you should pass. His grading is super generous and if you don't pass I don't know what to tell you lol.
THE BEST WE LOVE DAVE
His teaching is definitely different than regular Pre-Calc. He doesn't want you to fail though. Genuinely cares about his students and tries his best to help. Homework assignments confused me, gave pop quizzes (just attendance points). The practice problems from his syllabus are GOLD. Master those and you'll be set. I would recommend :)
He really cares about his students and their success in the class. However, he goes really fast with the content in lectures and sometimes expects you to learn a portion of the slides on your own with the videos he posts. Do the practice problems and attend office hours and you'll do well in the class.
This class is hard and its taught in a very different manner. Some tips I can give is to really look at the sample midterms and finals he gives. They are very similar to the actual midterm/final. Also try to do the practice problems. Dave is a really nice guy but sometimes he goes super fast so try and practice the concepts you dont get in class.
Go to his office hours early, they tend to fill up fast. Exams mirror homework and in-class questions. Don't be afraid to ask him for supplemental questions on tricky concepts. This class covers most of the precalc from high school, and if you show your work neatly you should do well.
The class covers really hard material with not enough time to process everything. The professor doesn't explain well during the lessons because he goes super fast but if you attend his office hours it can make a great difference. The final exam is pretty different from the practice problems so what you need to learn are the overall concepts.
Good precalc understanding that translates? You will pass. Not? Recognize his teaching and your math bg do suck and decide what to do. Do all the hw & quizzes. Go to discussions Math Emporium TA office hr students. Never went to his office hr& I disconnected zoom audio after the midterm. Gave students fake expectations for the final that's 50%.
He's a good guy & cares abt his students. The material is difficult. Most ppl took AP Calc but still had trouble with this class. Wording of stuff is very weird and difficult to understand. Not a lot of homework, your final is basically your grade. Getting a good TA will help you a lot. He lectures every class, materials r free. Took it online.
Hard material, good professor cares about students. Problems are worded weird but manageable. Syllabus contains numerous problems, do them. Ask questions, go to office hours if stuck on hw.
Professor Weisbart was a pretty solid math teacher. He didn't always post his lecture notes on time, nor did he make all his videos. However, he was super useful for office hours. He did talk a lot about the philosophy of math but overall, he's really caring and super nice. Just study hard for the final it determines your grade for the class.
Lectures and homework were confusing for me but I did well because TA was amazing.
He's a nice guy. Never take him for a harder level class. He refused to record lectures due to ethical reasons and posted lecture slides days late. His homework and exams were of the same general concepts taught, but if you didn't 10000% understand the concept you will NOT be able to do anything. He does not curve and the midterm is half the grade.
Pros: enthusiastic, caring about student learning. Cons: teaching style was unorganzied 2hr lectures that would overcomplicate even the simpler concepts with what felt like endless proofs. Additionally, consistently getting side tracked and not covering many core concepts of the class. Not recommended !
The class and homework is a lot harder than the exams, but he’s very lenient with everything. A lot of proofs, but whenever he isn’t doing them its pretty easy to follow. Exams are open note, and are very similar to the practice exam, which he goes over in detail in a recorded review session. Class can be rough, but definitely manageable.
Took this class and had him MATH 149B the quarter after. My is definitely my favorite math professor and he made learning probability so much fun. I am planning to take quantitative economics for my masters program because I enjoyed these classes so much.
He literally made up an entire course and expected us to do it without a textbook. It is the most complex topics ever and he explains them horribly. Worst class ever
This guy is really nice, but I really disliked this class. When I look at his notes for the homework, he just randomly makes up gibberish that spawns out of nowhere. This guy doesn't even show up to his review sessions and this makes his class very difficult. Would not recommend this unless it's your only option. Godspeed.
overcomplicates simple math algorithms and looking at lecture notes is like reading alien language. very passionate about math but cannot teach at all.
DO NOT SKIP. If you skip this class you will be so lost the final is 50% of your grade dont mess around go to the lectures as useless as they are and study a lot. He barely does anything in the lectures hell spend most of the time talking about other stuff that is pointless honestly just pray and hope for the best dont know how i passed. NO CURVE
Professor Weisbart is an easy teacher when I took his class. All you have to do is complete all the quizzes and surveys before the final. Furthermore, as long as you watch the lectures on canvas and take good notes from the discussions, it will help you pass.
Taken in Fall 2022. Professor was unable to be reached out through emails and anywhere else which makes this class all self taught. Final is 50% OF THE GRADE. The class is made up by him and confuses it tenfolds. He makes decisions that cant be kept especially regarding the final. He isn't able to teach which is why he had to curve the final twice.
David is a genuine guy that is really passionate about his job, like it's really obvious he loves doing what he does. The only problem is that he doesn't explain all the steps and expects students to self teach themselves the lessons before entering class. He also has a really confusing way of explaining, but other than that he's a good professor!
Great personality, but I didn't like him as my professor. 50% of your final grade is on participation (Midterms, homework, etc.), which is graded all on completion. The other 50% was the final exam, which was graded on accuracy. He was constantly changing due dates for assignments and his TAs were unsure about the material as well.
very nice and passionate guy, class material is very hard and he expects you to learn the material before the lecture, very confusing way of teaching the material and not very thorough with his explainations, the class material is hard the final is not as long as you study all the practice problems he gives you + it's also open book
Awesome guy and super easy to get along with. Accepts late assignments and will work with you if you put in the time. Final is 50% and is difficult so don't miss lecture
had him for the entire math 5ABC series last semester; if you wanna actually learn smth, don't choose this guy. while he means well, chill, and is clearly passionate about his subject, lectures are pointless and confusing and he's honestly all over the place. his grading is questionable and unorganized. waste of my time, i passed but at what cost?
He will teach like you are a PhD students, so prepare for the most difficult mathematics class of your life. His course will cover 5, 9 series and 10A materials, and I am not joking. Study, and study for the class materials. If you do well on his class, you are good to cruise until 10A, because he probably briefly covered them in this 5A course.
Professor wastes time, gets off topic easily, and the material he goes over lecture is all over the place. Although its an easy class and easy to pass the quizzes and exams, youll be left with so many questions
Don't go to lectures expecting it to be like the homework. Not mandatory but definitely recommend going to lecture as he will drop important info every now and then. Homework heavy but as long as you do it you'll have 100% before the final. Prof definitely cares about his students and wants everyone to pass.
He's a good person and all, just not good at teaching at all whatsoever. There's no textbook and the whole course is basically made up by him. Lectures are confusing and he goes all over the place and goes off on random tangents. I learned nothing in this class and wrote random stuff on the final and somehow got a B. This class was a waste of time.
I learned absolutely nothing and there was no textbook but midterms were take home and final was open everything so chatgpt carried.
Professor has a passion for the subject, but their teaching style can be confusing. The class is challenging, with a heavy emphasis on self-learning and a 50% final exam. Use unstuckstudy and other resources to stay on top of the material. Overall, put in the effort and you can pass this course.
Honestly this guy does not teach very well. He's really nice and means well but he fr does not teach. His lectures are straight up a yap session and it's really hard to stay engaged and follow what he talks about. The course is difficult because he doesn't teach and you're at the mercy of your TA. Mine was a chill gym bro but also sucked.
this man is the biggest yapper ever. each time i went to lecture i ultimately learned nothing, the homework is way better and you have to teach yourself. the final is worth 50% and he told us our midterms do not even matter. all exams are open everything so this class was a piece of cake but not good cake.
People who are complaining about David is someone who is not academically ready. Sure, his course materials are tough. However, now I am in the higher divs, his lessons help a lot. He is hilarious and actually really caring to his students. Any concerns you have, he will stay even 40 minutes after class to hear you out. Great professor, for sure.
He taught MATH009B like we were grad students. Even though his tests were open note, final exam was 50% worth of the entire grade. No curving in the class because students cheated on every exam to simply have an A. My honest self got left with a D in the class smh.
Prof. clearly loves math but he cannot teach. He does not contact or respond to students or TA's so you are on your own if you need help. There's no textbook, only his rambling notes and lectures, and the final is 50% of the grade. You can use notes for tests at least so try to jot down what you can. Do NOT recommend. I passed but learned nothing.
Cool guy, he LOVES MATH and hes literally a genius. He can't teach. There is no textbook and the homework looks very different from the lectures. He makes simple calculations look really confusing. Also the final is 50% of your grade but its open everything basically.
most confusing class ever... and final is 50% of your grade. he's really nice but it's hard to fully pay attention during lectures because he'll go off topic a lot.
Dude is a funny and chill guy but the man can only yap, not teach. The material itself is already confusing and his explanations add even more confusion. Your TA can be clutch but sometimes they dont even know how to answer the questions. Only saving grace is an open note final worth 50% of your grade so take good notes and you'll hopefull do well.
Dr. Weisbart gets a lot of flak on Rate My Professors. Mostly for his lectures, which are definitely weird for a freshman class. This is why I rated him a four: he is very caring. He will spend a lot of time with his students after class if needed. Your only real test is the final, which is completely open note, and the rest are take home.
