Great teacher, I would take again without hesitation. He uses real life examples to relate complicated material. Very energetic and easy to understand, this class will help you to have good reasons why you do what you do.

He is one of the best teachers I have ever had. His teaching style was interesting and funny. He wanted students to learn, plus I have never had a teacher spend so much time grading assignments, and writing comments on papers. I learned a lot in this class; I would take him for other classes!

Excellent professor. Explains theories in easy terms but does not 'baby' the material. Discussions in class were very detailed and quite interesting. Definitly recommend him for philosophy of any type. I believe he mostly teaches on the Keystone campus, though.

I enjoyed the class very much. It really made me take a look at what was going on around me. Mr. Wiles was awesome. He provided us with a study guide that showed us exactly what would be on the test. He was always available to answer any questions about the test or the class lecture.

However, if you show effort and do all assigned readings you will get an A or a B. He does a great job breaking down hard material and will do whatever possible to make sure you understand. Mr. Wiles is a good teacher. His tests are hard put if you ask he will give you a study guide with the exact questions that are on the test. He also gave out extra credit and he also really explained the material. He really wanted everyone to start thinking better so he designed all the test to make his students really understand the material. cute

The class is hard. You end up knowing less after taking the class, not more. But Wiles would stay after for hours if you need the help. He wants people to think better. He is a bit of a brainwasher, i will agree. Not an easy A, But this class should be required, it is more inportant than math because it teaches you how to live and treat humankind.

David effectively teaches very hard material in a manner that is understandable. His expectations are clear. He is not a brainwasher because he teaches the prior reasoning of famous philosophers. Professor Wiles is absolutely incredible. He's genuine, caring, and intelligent almost to a ridiculous extent. He wants you to think for yourself and his lectures certainly make you do so. I took Mr. Wiles for informal logic and it has been one of the best experiences i've had in college so far. Amazing teacher! He is there if you have any questions and he will make sure you understand everything if you just ask. But if you want an easy A this isn't the class for you. I took his PHI2010 in the fall 2016 semester. He is so helpful and his lectures make the material seem so easy, and is great at clarifying any topics or ideas within/outside of the book. Gives you tons of opportunities to do well, but must work for them. Show up to class, read, PARTICIPATION is key. He values effort and respect. Amazing professor.

An acid trip without the acid! What Ted Lasso is to coaching, Professor Wiles is to teaching. I took this class in fall of 2019 and this has been the best class I have ever taken. I don't rate or judge teachers based off how easy the class is, but how learned or well taught I am on the subject. The class is about you and learning NOT about a grade.

This class is great to learn, fun, and understandings. Its easy to talk freely, I like this class. It nice to argue with others in class about the class. Some stuff are deep and it helped me clear my mind to understand more about this class! I dont like about this class is not understanding about what is going on, quiz, or exam.

He's a good professor and he cares about you passing the class, however, it is misleading that if you don't do well on the tests that you will fail the class. He tries to talk with you after class and make it be known that the tests don't have nearly the weight as participation and effort shown. If you put in 100% effort, it will pay off.

This professor is GREAT! He does require you to make the effort, like coming to class, reading assignments and doing study guides but really if you do make the effort, engage in his GREAT lectures, his class is pretty easy and fun to engage in!

Is old fashioned in the sense that you aren't able to use your computer for papers, but in the class conversations that arise from the lectures are great. Wiles' ethics and philosophy classes are some of the most important classes you'll take and you should take them regardless of your field.

Wiles is honestly the best professor I've experienced at Santa Fe his classes are worth the drive to the keystone branch 100%. His ability to separate his personal opinions from the course material and allow the students to engage themselves and with each other is sublime. He actually cares about his students and wants you to thrive.

Wiles is an incredible professor very charismatic and outgoing and really cares for his students. He isn't readily available outside of class however he will gladly take time to answer any questions after class. I would absolutely take him again and recommend others to sign up for his classes.

The best professor that I've taken insofar. Not only did he teach the course very well to where I understood the material, but the class was incredibly engaged. We would voluntarily spend hours after class talking about philosophy because of how fun the class was. I highly recommend taking this class, even if you have to drive an hour for it.

This class is very difficult in means of the material. However Professor Wiles is very understanding and wants every student to succeed. He breaks things down to be easily understood and is happy to explain as long as it takes.
