Do not take Anatomy at UNL! He tries to fail his students, his tests are designed to fail. If people actually got tested on what they learned they could get a good grade in the class. I took it as a sophomore and was not ready for the amount of content that was about to be covered. VERY lecture-heavy. I was failing both lecture and lab for the first two months until I started making Anatomy my whole life. Be ready to study like never before. However, Anatomy was wonderful to learn, and I plan to become a TA soon.

Dr. Woodman was a tough professor but honestly the class itself wasn't that bad. If you enjoy the material and put a good amount of time into it, you should succeed. Studying every day is necessary! Lectures sometimes boring but it's a lot of information. The lab was the hardest part of the class. Overall, difficult but doable.

This class is hard and harder if you don't have a background with science courses. If you do have a background with science courses (mainly physiology) this course is more manageable. The lecture part of the course is honestly very manageable, the lab is the hard part of the course. Stay on top of material and go to lab office hours!!!

Here's a review of what no one talks about in anatomy. Why is David Woodman actually kind of, really funny. Everyone always talks about how hard the class is, but now one talks about how Woodman is a cheeky little bugger. He talks about his smoking days often, but has yet to address the origin of his eyepatch. So much intrigue and so many secrets.

Take physiology first. i took anatomy with ochem and it was doable but i had no life outside of studying. Use quizlets of old exams but dont always trust the answers. you have to put in the work especially in lab. i spend HOURS studying a day and you cant expect to pass by barely studying. his lectures are hard to stay awake for but do your best.

His lectures consist of him circling on the board and takes a long time teaching things we already had to know for lab. If you pay close attention in lab and read the book occasionally especially for lab you'll do fine. You HAVE to put in the work to get something out of it.I HIGHLY recommend taking phys first. it helps if you understand phys first

Anatomy will take up so much of your time, esepcially the lab portion. Two 3 hour labs a week (you don't get out early) w/ 2 lectures a week. Ec for good attendance. Cadavers are very interesting and also hard for the lab portion, so go to lab office hours. Only gave 3/5 since nothing in lecture is on test. 96% of class is test/quiz based.

Worst professor ever. Can't understand what he is saying in lecture. TA's are picky when asked certain questions, so they are no help. Taking your time taking practical's and quizzes is not allowed since they are timed. Lab quizzes are over things you did not learn. Beware of the hard pop quizzes. Attendance is mandatory for lab & lecture.

I was terrified going into this class, and after the first week, I thought I was going to fail. Go to class to get the 2% extra added at the end. I can't stress enough the importance of attending office hours to succeed in the lab. The lab takes up 33% of your grade, and understanding the lab helps greatly in lecture exams. Use quizlets!!!!

He hires out an "assistant" who you have to go to if you need to miss class. They require a handwritten note from you, a doctors note, and 15 hoops to jump through. Went during COVID so he definitely caused some super spreader events and some deaths with this policy. 60% of grade is pop quizzes which do not go over content you learned.

If you have any sort of life outside of school u wont pass the class. The lecture had a lot of weird rules and the lab was impossible. None of the TAs seemed like they wanted to teach. Going to office hours didn't help me and if you want to miss a lab or class forget about it, its like going to the dmv where all this random paperwork is required.

While I don't think this class is perfect, I think it's fair. Do NOT take this class and expect to get an A if you are taking more than 12 chrs. Lab is the hardest component with constant quizzes, you need to be constantly studying. Use/make quizlets, go to office hours. Woodman is so funny and although his class is challenging, you learn a lot.

Ah, you will learn anatomy in this course and learn it well, but at what cost. Lab is significantly harder than lecture. Make use of quizlets and office hours. Not the hardest class ever, but INCREDIBLY time consuming. Biggest advice is to not take this course at the same time as other hard courses, as it requires you to dedicate a LOT of time.

Dr. Woodman is very fair, though the first lecture is intimidating as he sets high expectations. His lectures help, but most exam content is from the textbook. Lab is tough and time-consuming—you need to study often. I didn't use office hours but should have. It's a hard class, but interesting and doable if you embrace the grind.

Fought for my life to pass, but alas this was my most fascinating/favorite class yet! Anatomy's tough, so he has high expectations. I have some minor gripes, but overall I loved it. Highly recommend office hours, read the book, leaning on your TAs, and premade Quizlets. Dr woodman and this course made me even more excited for nursing school!

I took the 8 week summer course of Anatomy (mistake on my part) and was able to do fairly well considering the accelerated pace, but BE PREPARED TO MAKE THIS CLASS YOUR ENTIRE LIFE. I didn't have time to read the book… and a ton of content is pulled from the excruciating long and boring chapters. This class is doable if you're prepared to work.

Woodman is strict but passionate. Using the anatomy atlas (3D interactive) is great for lab and contextualizing the info from the book. The lecture exams are intentionally tricky, lab is just content heavy. If you can, I would take physiology before taking anatomy. Doing that made this class so much easier for me, even while taking 17 credits.

This class is definitely doable if you are prepared to give up having a life. The exams draw from a huge question bank, and some of the questions are impossible to get right, even if you memorize the book. The lab quizzes/ practicals are graded tough, and points get taken off for every minor detail. Hard class, but interesting nonetheless!
