Great teacher - very interested in student success. Good lecturer.

Very nice guy, great lecturer, very interested in teaching students, has funny stories to tie into lectures so it isn't boring, must go to class though, all tests are taken directly from notes, tests are medium difficulty (studying is a must!) i am looking forward to taking more of his classes. class can be aced without the book.

David is a wonderful teacher who truly cares about his students. His class can be easily passed by not missing any lectures and taking good notes. I highly recommend using a tape recorder if possible. Great guy Great teacher!!!!!

Dave is the best professor at WCC! This is a very difficult class that's crammed into one semester instead of two, and he does a wonderful job of explaining things. He's always very excited and always has a joke so he makes class enjoyable. Exams come straight from the notes so you have to go to class!

Extremely nice, smart, and talented. Sometimes he will go all over the place, but it's more funny then annoying (sometimes confusing however). Attendence is a must for an A. Only complaint was you could study everything, do note cards, posters, study groups, and still get less then perfect on his test. Which is irritating for me =)

David explains physiology in easy to understand language. He gives you ALL the info you need for exams so the book is really there for clarification of concepts. He also is very willing to assist you if you need help, his door is always open. Take his class, he rocks.

It may be melodramatic, but his classes have changed my life. Beyond learning more in two semesters than four YEARS at a previous college, he taught me about life in his own, extremely enthusiastic way. I?ve never been able to say it but going to his class was the best part of my day. Washtenaw is lucky to have him and so was I.

Dave is a wonderful instructor. A&P can be very daunting, but he makes it do-able. He is very enthusiastic in his teaching, which makes the class more enjoyable. Treat him with respect and he will reciprocate. You MUST attend all lectures to do well in this class.

Excellent instructor! I wish the BIO department could find more exciting instructors like him. I took this class with a different professor once before (Ken Morgan's class...DONNOT TAKE!!! Waste of time! Boring!) and decided to take with Wooten because I heard many great things about his teaching style! Absolutely zero complaints. Recommended!

He was so awesome. I suck at biology and can never get better than a c or b but with david, he is the BEST! i think i got an A in the class and he makes it so interesting and fun. This class was great. I was really dreading taking Bio over the summer semester, but Mr. Wooten made me look forward to every class. He not only makes the subject interesting with his funny stories, but he makes you care about biology. I wish he taught more classes that I need to take.

He is an amazing teacher. You have to come to his class willing to study, willing to learn. I'd call him the KING of Biology. Haha. He knows his stuff. Ask questions, he'll answer. His questions are based off his power points, pay attention to what he says, he gives thoroughly expressed examples to help you get the concept. You get what you put in!

Lec. not mandatory BUT you should go. Lab is mandatory. You will love him. I sat on a waitlist just because i refused to have any other teacher.

He loves teaching Human A and P. Cares a lot about his students. Lab quizzes are not that bad if you study. Exams are hard because of the topic not him. He will help you with anything you need. Study a lot and you will get the grade you deserve

Wooten is the best teacher at WCC. I took anatomy 4 times overall and didn't know what was going on until I took Wooten. I hatyed science but now love. You can learn stuff and apply it to your friends. I strongly recommend taking his class for BIO 11. You can connect the dots, and have the dendrites firing as he would say.

His tests and quizzes may not be the easiest in the world but he will never deny helping you and he genuinely wants you to succeed. there are some points that he mentions that isn't necessarily on the notes but he'll tell you to jot them down. i would not take any other A+P teacher over him

What a "stand-up" kinda guy. He is knowledgable, funny, and cares. This class isnt for you if you no interest in human anatomy or physiology. He appreciates everbody that contributes, and the ones who are quiet in the back. He makes time at WCC worth it. WCC is getting ripped off because this class is worth more with him teaching it!

First, Wooten is not easy but don't let that scare you off because you LEARN in his class. I almost dropped afer the 2nd exam but with his encouragement I stuck it out, followed his suggestions with studying and ended up with a B+. He hold the bar high and I appreciate that in a professor because I'm not here to "get by", I'm here to learn!

Professor Wooten is very knowledgeable about the subject. His exams are very tough and you will study a LOT. You must go to lab to earn points. Lab quizzes are fairly easy if you study for them. I recommend going to every single lecture; he doesn't post notes online. Overall, he's one of the best professors out there. TAKE HIM.

Wooten is an excellent teacher! He does his best to help you understand, and even gives you a personalized "study-o-gram" if you visit him during office hours. However, this doesn't mean you will pass the class. Tests are 100 questions each and they are extremely difficult. Also: Study for lab quizzes!!!!

If you're taking Bio 111, Wooten is a must have!! The tests aren't hard, they just have a lot of information on them. Take notes on everything. has 6 take home quizzes to build up points. Study! you can pass if you really try.

This was my first semester in college after taking a 6 year break so I was very nervous about taking Bio 111 because it had such a big reputation for being a hard class. If you have questions don't be afraid to ask him during lecture or anytime in his office. He's willing to help u understand stuff u dont grasp.

Professor Wooten is the best teacher for bio 111 hands down. He makes bio memorable. As far as difficult concepts, Wooten breaks them down.... This class is not definition based so you ideally have to know your concepts and he will make this as easy as possible. You have to work for it but he is definitely the only the teacher I would recommend.

He is the best lecturer! He doesn't offer slides so you will have to take notes. At first I thought there are too many things to remember and the tests are so hard. But then I found as long as you go to the lectures and listen carefully, you just can't miss any of the test questions. 4 tests + final + paper. Not easy but you can really learn a lot

Wooten is a great teacher. The lectures are fun while the test are easy. Don't underestimate the test though. If you keep track of definitions and appear for lecture it is easy. If you ever miss a day Wooten has a lot of material to help you get most of the missed material. If you are taking Bio then this is the class for you.

Not an easy class but definitely my favorite by far. Study your notes and tests will be a breeze. I wish there were more zoology classes, this one was so much fun. Took Wooten twice years ago. First time I didnt pass (I got a C+ and needed a b- for my nursing program). I took him again and got the needed grade. As an adult with adhd who was not medicated,college was difficult for me. Wootens lecture & lab gave me a good enough dopamine rush to keep me engaged. Wooten also gave studying tips that I still use!

Wooten has outshined all of the science teachers I've had at WCC. He is incredibly passionate about what he's teaching and it shows in every lecture. There is lots of work to do in this course, but none of it is truly difficult. I wish I could have taken this course on campus, but Wooten makes it just as engaging online.

Professor Wooten is the best! His lectures are fun and informative. He was very responsive to email's and student questions. All in all, this class is a must take!

He's good about pointing out what you do and don't need to take notes on during the lecture. You're free to drop a question in the chat or unmute to ask him anytime. But, the workload is insane. There's a quiz and homework due almost every week. "Double up" lab weeks are common. Labs were 6-10 pages each and due at the end of the week plus hw.

I am so glad that I was able to take BIO 111 with Professor Wooten. His lectures are amazing, his style of teaching makes the lecture really interesting. However, be ready for an exam almost every week or so (depending on the length of the unit) besides that I really recommend taking him, best decision ever! :)

Wooten is perhaps the best professor I've had so far, granted, I'm only in my second semester, but he has helped encourage me to pursue biology as a field, and has given me avenues to further pursue biology outside of the classroom. I'm extremely grateful to David Wooten, and I'd love to take his class again.

I wish I could take all my bio requirements w/ Dr. Wooten. He is so caring, loves what he teaches, and wants everyone to gain something from his class. I began to disassociate in the semester I took him due to biology being trippy/scary, and he supported me like a father. He's an amazing person.

Prof. Wooten is a great, intelligent Instructor, because he loves what he teaches. The class is a lot of drawing and a lot of fun. Only exams are kinda hard.

While he doesn't check lecture attendance, the exams and quizzes are dependant on the lectures. He is super caring and tells lots of stories about his experiences in the field of zoology.

Professor Wooten has a clear passion for what he's doing. He's very considerate of schedules and doesn't overdo it on the homework but be prepared to work and cut out time for this class. If you miss an exam, he'll allow you to make it up, but he's overall very kind. He really does want to help his students and he's a great teacher.

professor is an amazing lecturer, very fun class and a very great guy. everything you learn is mandatory which really messed with me especially on labs and lab exams, the long term assignments like the EEBs and the final paper are really driving me up a wall too so if you have time management issues i do not recommend the class.

By far the best professor I have ever had. His lectures are hilarious and extremely caring. Lectures slides are extremely informational. Now where this can get tricky is Lab Lab for this class is a lot and can be difficult depending on the lab instructor you pick but you WILL NOT regret choosing professor Wooten for lecture.

Prof. Wooten is one of the best professors I've ever had. He is extremely passionate about the topics he teaches and is very well-spoken. Attendance is mandatory, but it's not a class you'll want to miss. 100% recommend this professor to everyone.

Professor Wooten clearly loves what he's teaching, which makes lectures fun and interesting. The material is a heavy, but he explains it all so it is easy to understand and follow. He answers questions, and truly wants you to understand the material.

This course had a lot of work to get through, and finals week was especially stressful, but the moment I stepped into his lecture, all of my stress was gone. His lectures are so genuine and it's great to appreciate someone who actually enjoys teaching. He isn't a super strict grader but effort is a must!! If he sees that you're trying that's enough

Wooten is one of my favorite teachers. He loves science and does a fantastic job making you love it too. You really need to come to every class because you'll go over a lot during lectures and you'll need the notes to study with. He stays after class to answer questions and loves to help.

Professor Wooten is an amazing professor. He is very experienced and uses his experiences as teaching moments in class. I also took his BIO 161 class and enjoyed that as well. There are quizzes before every test to help review the information in class. Overall, I highly recommend taking Professor Wooten.

Professor Wooten is amazing! The class is difficult and has several out of class assignments. However, attend lectures and talk with him on any issues you may have and he will do what he can to help you succeed. I highly recommend this class with him as your instructor.

I found that Mr. Wooten was incredibly professional and engaging with his students. The passion he had for his teachings genuinely brought out the passion that I had for the subject. The work was difficult and he sets high expectations, but with communication he is very flexible and forgiving. Exams were tough and it is very, very content filled.

Prof. Wooten's BIO161 class is engaging and challenging. Attend lectures, use the free textbook, and try unstuckstudy for study prep - it's a great supplement. The work is demanding, but the professor is passionate and eager to help.

Professor Wooten is an incredible teacher. His lectures are engaging and educational. Truly any class with him is going to be a fantastic time for anyone interested in biology. He expects good work, but he will happily work with you to achieve a high grade. I would recommend no one better than him for a scientific introduction to the world. :)

Professor Wooten is an amazing professor! I am happy with the ‘B' I received in his course because I know that I learned a lot during the semester. I would recommend studying a lot and reviewing the lecture content directly after each class. Even though lecture attendance is not mandatory, it would likely be best to attend each class.

Professor Wooten was one of the best professors I have ever had. He was extremely knowledgeable about his field and cared deeply about his students. He truly wanted all of his students to succeed. His lectures were entertaining and while there was a fair amount of work involved, it allowed the students to really understand and apply the material.

He is a very passionate and knowledgeable professor. He is an amazing professor, who truly cares about the success of his students. He teaches his students hand gestures and little things to help them to remember some of the different aspects in the class, which helped me on the exams. All in all I recommend him 150%

This professor was a 10/10.. everybody scared me taking bio111 but this professor made it so easy and i passed with an A the first try. Extremely funny and understanding 10/10 .

Oh my god maybe my favorite professor ever. Talk to him about anything bio related your mind can come up with and he'll engage with you. Best google of which professor to take of my entire life.
