Really sweet guy, very helpful, wants you to succeed.
He is a very good professor who can make you appreciate theatre. He is not too strict on grading, but he's pretty clear about what he wants. Lenient too. Very knowledgable
He is a great sectional teacher and he is willing to work with you after class hours if you need help!
i disagree. i thought he was a very biased teacher. just say on his good side.
I honestly think he just has all his lectures memorized. But knows what he's talking about. Work hard on that Hamlet paper and final though.
Good class. Interesting material. Sometimes he seemed a little impatient with students and their questions. The TAs were not very nice in this class. They were not very helpful and were stuck-up.
The class was a lot of fun. You have to go to class and lose points for days missed. Very little work and the work that is required is very easy. Put some effort into your duo-scene, he grades harder on it because you have more time. A great class to get away from the stress of college and just enjoy yourself.
Great intro class with lots of information and opportunities to see theatre
He is the best teacher! David is so chill and fun! He never gave anoyone below an A on ANYTHING and he is extremely helpful and funny! I recommend this! if you dont take it you're stupid!
David is a very nice man and grades extremely fairly. Take him and NOT any others for Intro to Acting.
This class was extremely easy!! However, the professor was awful. If you ask a question he looks down on you and is very unapproachable. Does not tell you what to do for assignments or when assignments are due. .It is up to you to find out for yourself. Another teacher is STRONGLY ADVISED!!!
David is an enthusiastic teacher and he knows his material however the class requires that you attend all classes since he does not use d2l or a website, nothing is online. I got 100% on all of my papers which has never happened in my life, but you actually have to work hard to do well its no walkthrough, if you give some effort you will get an A
If you attend lecture or have a friend who attends, don't buy the book. Class is really easy to pass, just make sure you are enthusiastic in class and rehearse for your final scene.
No online notes. Easy A if you go to lecture and jot down EVERYTHING, get a TA to look at your paper before it's due, do the extra credit option. Three short papers, three plays, two easy tests, and two exams (I wrote down everything in lecture and still only got an 88 on the first exam...he DOESN'T curve). Overall, take this class for a gen ed.
Dont take this class! He moves very fast the tests are bad. He thought a class avg. of 57% was good! Bad teacher!
worse teacher ever. of my 3 years he has been the worse by far. Class mid term test average was a 56 %! seriously this class is not rocket science but at a 100 level class one should be able to get an "A", dont expect it from this teacher. He didnt explain well what so ever, he is a teacher trying to prove a point so he makes it impossible
This class is just a bunch of note taking and comprehending facts. The questions on the tests are difficult, use a laptop if possible because he talks a lot and most of it is unattainable. No online notes, just his lecturing so go to class
Don't take him take the other teacher instead. His tests are way too hard for a 100 level class. He only writes a few key notes in his lectures you have to get everything else from him talking and he doesn't use a book or D2l. He is a nice guy but makes the class way to hard for a 100 level. Expect to write about 10+ pages in this class.
Cool guy! Take the course if you're at all interested in theatre. Just do the reading, show up, and take notes.
David is a great lecturer and you will learn A LOT, but you MUST GO TO CLASS. If you miss class, you are screwed on the exams. Have a TA read over your paper before you turn it in...that's what they're there for and you WILL get a better grade. Get to know your TA as they do ALL the grading for this course and can really help you out if you need he
Don't know why everyone is giving him a bad rating. He is a great teacher. You only take a m.c. midterm and a final and write 2 essays. Write down everything he says and you will be fine! God forbid you actually have to do a little work to get an A in the class. He loves when you answer his questions in class. Go to the plays to get easy points
David Yarnelle is a great teacher and clearly has a passion for it. I have trouble with writing so I consider it a hard class. A few assignments will take long time to finish but you have to write everything down and don't be afraid to ask him to repeat or if you can meet with him after class.
this guy is vey difficult to listen too. his notes suck and arent online. use vocab words in essays and go to class
Ugh. His TA's make all the difference. I guess last year they were easy graders on the essays, but this year they are hard graders, and it sucks. As for Yarnelle, he's a nice guy, but his lectures are kind of boring. His tests aren't too bad, but you definitely have to be in class in order to pass the class.
He comes across as really rude and his essay prompts are ridiculous. He doesn't come across as having a lot of respect for the students. I felt that he made some rude comments both to me in office hours and during the class. Basically he needs to get off his high horse. Take the class with a different professor.
He's very realistic in his expectations. The tricky thing is you have to write down EVERYTHING he says. Not just what he puts on the board, otherwise your notes will be useless. Memorize all vocab. Answer his questions in class. Great guy if you get to know him.
Class is EASY! Midterm and Final are confusing, worded in a way that is not clear. All the work in sections is easy but he does NOT post lectures or anything so you either need to go to class, find a friend, or read the book. Overall fun class you WILL be preforming in front of people so dont be shy!
I didn't go to lecture because it was too boring. The acting part of the class was interesting and I'm glad I took the class. Yarnell, however, shouldn't require people to pay so much money for the book- so don't do it! I just borrowed someone's notes and bam: I got my A. Save 130 bucks! Tests are easy if you have the information.
Seriously, worst class I have ever taken. Tests ARE HARD!!! I am an "A" student and was getting D's and F's on everything. I went to every class. My sister took the same class with a different teacher and got A's on everything while my papers were much better than hers and I was getting D's. Do NOT take this class, TRUST ME.
I am a huge theatre fanatic and was excited to take this class, but Yarnelle really just doesn't care about his students at all. The way he lectures is terrible, and you have no idea what's important and what isn't because he types the notes as he talks. Essay prompts are long and in depth, and the tests are extremely specific. Not recommended.
He is not clear on what is on the midterm and the final, which is all multiple choices. The essays questions are really detailed, and graded harshly. I appreciate theater but this class makes me not appreciate this class. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this professor.
David was great. His lecturing style was challenging to follow; he talked a lot and often realized he left important parts out of previous lectures. If you go to class, write down the meat of what he says, and understand analysis his class is very interesting and easy. He gives you more than you need to work with and its your job to apply it.
He teaches in a very laid back manner but treats his students like college students aka he expect them to come to class and be able to take their own notes as he lectures. Not to say he doesn't care, if you come to class and/or work with him it is very helpful. Tests are pieces of cake if you come to class and take detailed notes/skim readings.
The lectures are boring, but Yarnelle makes the acting part fun. As long as you listen to and follow his instructions, this class is very easy and fun.
Worst teacher I've ever had. He thinks that he is so smart, when really, theatre is not a class you should have to work too hard on. He doesn't post anything on D2L, so you are pretty much dead if you don't go to class. Also, he doesn't have any study guides. Don't take this class.
Great professor. The studio part of the class was really fun and pretty easy. 2 play critiques, 2 character critiques, 2 performances, a midterm, and a final. Take this class!
This is a college class aka you need to be able to attend class and take notes in order to pass. No D2L. Required to attend the 3 school of theatre arts shows that semester instead of buying a textbook. There are 2 inclass papers and one outside on the plays. Must do screenings. He expects a lot, but over all the class if fairly easy if you review
Seriously the most enjoyable class of the year - I always looked forward to this class! He's a pretty chill instructor and he's good at responding to emails. But, don't turn in late papers because there's like a 10% deduction I think and thoroughly rehearse the scenes. This class was really fun and I highly recommend it!
I hated this class. Mostly because it had nothing to do with my major but the teacher wasn't that great and his slides sucked. He also was not very clear when he gave directions for an assignment. The best days were when we watched live plays on campus or on dvd in class.
Our study guide for the final exam was coming into class with questions... he didn't give us any idea of what was to be on it (screenings, in class discussions, live plays)and his notes suck! You need to write down every word he says because the slides aren't specific and are useless without clarification. Pretty difficult for non-theatre freaks...
DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. He doesn't post his slides on D2L and he grades you like a law professor. You have to attend every class to do well at all. You have to pay like $60 bucks to see ridiculous plays. Absolute worst gen ed. Kills your GPA for nothing.
Do not take this class. Essays are difficult to write. His guidelines are very specific and the plays are boring. It is hard to focus on everything in the play and the essays are very persise on what has to be the topic. Bottom line AVOID THE CLASS!!!
His instructions are very vague. He doesn't give much information on what is need to do. Class isn't mandatory, but he does go over a lot of things in class. Essays are simple if you imitate his sample essays. Notes are essential, especially if you don't want to read the lectures. No posted notes online.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!! HE IS SUPER UNCLEAR AND WAY TO VAGUE! THE CLASS MAY SEEM EASY AND INTERESTING BUT IT IS NOT!!!!
Do NOT take this class. I was excited for this class, but the instructor is really unclear and the material is really confusing. Everyone in the class is lost and he does not seem to help us. Sounds like an easy A but it's not. Really nice guy... but that's it.
This class is definitely dry, and he refers to the textbook often. But the tests are super easy even if you don't read or pay attention. Boring but its an easy A!
If you dont do well in this class you dont deserve to be in college. Skim some of the readings, do your case study and do the class responses and youll be fine. Im a terrible writer and I got As on all the writing assignments. Good GenEd
The class attempts to theorize popular entertainment in a way much beyond that of a 100 level class. The textbook is a lot of talk without a lot of meaning. If you consider the study of popular entertainment to include "intertextuality" and "adaptation of product and as process to address the various dimensions of adaptation" this class is for you
Wow. A lot of people are really negative. If you can't handle this course and at the very least skim the readings, you really shouldn't be in college. It is a super easy GenEd that actually forces you to take a good look at the world we live in. Really enjoyed this class and was able to do well.
If you're failing this class I have no sympathy for you. This class is not hard. If you have a question David is super easy to get in contact with and is VERY CLEAR. Obviously the people complaining about his vagueness did not go to class since attendance was not required. Once again if you fail this you need to get your priorities figured out
This class seems challenging but as long as you pay attention, take notes, and read the textbook chapters, it isn't so bad. It's really helpful to go to office hours. People say that he's not clear in the essay prompts but if you do everything it says to do on D2L, you'll get an A.
Do not take this class, Yarnelle takes Theater too seriously and is one of the hardest graders when it comes to the essays you have to write. Forced to pay for 3 plays to watch outside of class that cost $19 dollars each. I have never disliked a professor's method of teaching more in my life.
LOVED THIS CLASS. If you are interested in the subject and a decent writer you should have no problem getting a good grade in the class. Professor Yarnelle was easy to talk to and does grade fairly. The only negatives are that you do have a group project and he does not put any lecture notes on D2L. Awesome gen-ed!
I wouldn't recommend this class to anyone at least not with this professor. I attended every class and still got a C. He is not nice unless you are really into theater. His slides are not posted onto D2L and his slides are vague. There are no study guides. You also have to go to plays that are $20. Waste of time and money. Very rude professor.
I enjoyed this course. Some concepts were left unclear. If you remain in engaged in class and do the work, you'll be fine.
This is a hard but rewarding Gen Ed. I understand why we were required to attend three plays in order to critique them, but I HATED the screenings. They were outdated and they weren't even all on a test or quiz.
Slides are not helpful and book is not needed. Just show up to class and write a few important things down. It is not a difficult class.
Extremely easy class, Yarnelle is a great teacher who makes everything extremely easy. If you go to class eveyday and take notes you will have an easy A.
EASY EASY CLASS! I highly recommend taking it. The lecture with Yarnelle is extremely boring but so easy. And the studio section makes the class worth it because it is so fun.
Easy A and great class! Lecture is once a week and studio is super fun. There's not much work, just a couple of papers here and there and it's super easy. You literally just need to show up and you will get an A. :)
I had Yarnelle for lecture only, not studio, but his lectures were pretty straightforward. He assigns the reflection papers at the end of class in lecture, that's his way of making sure you go to class. He's really nice, but doesn't post lectures online so pay attention if you don't have experience in theatre.
If you're not a totally lazy person, you will do well. Go to class because powerpoints are not online. Just follow the instructions and the assignment and write coherently, and you'll do fine.
Do not take this gen ed! His open-note final was moe difficult than my CHEMISTRY final... that's saying something. He takes the class way too seriously for a theater gen ed and is very rude. The first gen ed I got a B in, I dont suggest it.
studio too hard 4 gen-ed. 4 papers must be a good writer, requires tons of depth and reading, must buy tickets to plays to write ur paper. Must be a good test taker. Perfomances are very particular. other than being graded too hard and needing too much work, his studios were the best, educational, and fun
Yarnelle takes this class way too seriously. This class requires so much for a gen ed course its ridiculous, the project has to be about 10 pages long, and you are required to view 3 live performances out of class which require in class essays. Dont even get me started about the pop quizzes either. Yarnelle is a joke, I would NEVER take this again.
This class is probably one of the worst Gen Ed's you could ever take at Arizona. I was lucky I was able to withdraw before the deadline. He is not clear at all in his lectures and takes it way to serious. If you want help you have to basically beg for it. Never take this class unless you like a challenge. I would never recommend it.
I wouldn't recommend this course to anyone. Yarnelle is such a tough grader, especially on MLA formatting (didn't know this was an English class)? He is very unclear of what he wants on the pop responses and tells you to study the wrong things half the time. I've never been so stressed over a stupid gen-ed course. DO NOT take this class!
The most rude professor I have ever had. Very biast and mean. He does not care about his students and probably enjoys when his students fail his class. Hardest grader, and worst teacher.
Professor Yarnelle, while a really sweet guy, takes his job very seriously. The class, while not impossible, definitely is not a "no effort" class. I received an A in the course only because after not getting the best grade on my first pop response, I began to work really hard on all the assignments. Work hard and you will also get an A.
Dr. Yarnelle is an average professor. You MUST go to class if you want the notes because he does not post slides on D2L. There are 4 pop quizzes during the semester that are random so it is imperative that you attend. There are a few 5-10 pg. papers that take some time, but are worth a lot of your grade.
Professor Yarnelle is very interesting and so is his class. His pop responses are easy and he grades the papers fairly. He does not post his power points on d2l so make sure to go to class. You don't really need to read the book but it helps. Overall, a very good class!
Yarnelle is sweet and loves his job, but I wouldn't take this class again. His test are ridiculously hard. You MUST go to class to get the notes, and then again its mostly him talking so its hard to keep up. Hard to pay attention to his lectures making them long, and gives 4 pop quizzes. He is a clear and at the same time tough grader.
I was referred to this class by my advisor saying that this would be an easy class to fluff up my GPA. Well, he was the furthest thing from right. Not only does he not understand personal issues you may have or even pretends to be an understanding human being, but he takes this class beyond serious for a gen ed. Stay far away this class.
I only had Yarnelle for the lecture portion of this class. He definitely takes the class very seriously, but it's also not too difficult to get an A. If you aren't going to go to the lectures, find a friend who will so you can still get the assignments. He's a nice guy, can't say I learned a ton in the class, but it was pretty enjoyable.
I had Yarnelle for lecture and studio. He takes theatre seriously and is very passionate. The attendance policy is VERY strict, if you miss 3 studios or are late, a whole letter grade is dropped so make sure to sign up for a studio that is convenient for your schedule. The exams are difficult, study with others and fill out the study guide.
He is the hardest grader I have ever had. He is so unclear and his notes that he puts on the board do not even make sense. He rambles on the entire class and even rambles on in the instructions on certain assignments. He gives random pop quizzes and does not post notes on d2l. The reading was also about 2 hours every night. Way to much for a Gen ed
Actually the worst class ive taken at the UofA and im a pre-med Student. His syllabus is so unclear and his lectures go no where. To get an A prepare to have this be your most time consuming class. 67 percent of his class got a C so let that sink in if you are looking for a decent gen ed. Only take this class if you really have a passion for theatr
Gives pop quizzes and doesn't post any notes on line, so you are completely screwed if you happen to have to miss any class. Workload is too much for a 100 level gen ed class. Lectures are long and powerpoints jump around so it is hard to take good notes. Lots of assigned reading/ screenings at home. Seriously, don't take this class. Not worth it.
I was surprised to see these ratings. Yes, you need to go to class to pass, but you're not paying for a class to not go to it. I actually wrote one of the papers without seeing the play & still received a high B on it. If you pay attention in class the tests aren't difficult. He drops your lowest quiz if you take all 4. Just go to class!
Professor Yarnelle is a wonderful teacher. Very passionate. The work load at first is a lot, but then it becomes easy. MUST GO TO CLASS AND TAKE NOTES. Always there for help, great guy. You also attend 3 plays, and they are a great experience! This class takes work, but is very interesting and going to plays for credit is awesome:)!
Prof Yarnelle is great! He lets class out early often and sometimes cancels. Every assignment has clear instructions, so it's pretty tough to fail. A lot of writing but it's easy and on fun topics! He's super helpful and always able to answer questions.
Professor Yarnelle is one of the most difficult professors I have had and his class was extremely difficult. He mixes around his syllabus so much to a point where you get lost, his assignments are difficult, and there is a lot of reading and note taking involved. DO NOT take this class if you're looking for an easy "Gen Ed"
Do not take this class. I took it for an easy gen ed and never got higher than a 40% on any assignment, and i actually worked hard... The material is SO abstract that you never know what he's asking of you. He grades so tough. I ended up dropping the class just so i wouldn't lower my GPA. Lots of reading, pop quizzes which are impossible.
His class is difficult no doubt. You must attend every class or you won't pass. I had to personally work very hard for a B.
Yarnelle doesn't mess around, you have to give it your all to get an A but it's definitely possible. If you respect him and work hard in his class you can get the grade you want.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! It is extremely abstract and the readings you have to do make no sense plus the pop quizzes that are on the readings are near impossible to prepare for. The papers seem easy when you're doing them but the grader wants more as to what is asked. It is extremely hard to get a B.
A great semester with an intro class. Loved it.
Mr. Yarnelle seems somewhat aloof and judgemental. I wish he posted something/anything on line that would enrich his class. There is nothing!!! He is sometimes difficult to follow, but still, all in all, a good filler course.
Great lectures and you get let out early almost every class.
Yarnelle is a very good lecturer. He is very passionate and even though this is the basic level TAR class, he still puts effort into the class. The tests were online and easy. There's quizlets for the material. Doesn't take attendance for lectures, but gives out extra credit for people that do show on random days, so stay until the end of class!
CLASS IS INTERESTING CHALLENGING AND EYEOPENING
great gened class fun
Yarnelle doesn't make the material interesting at all. He's passionate but pretty bland. There are four random attendance quizzes so other than that attendance isn't mandatory. There are four tests. You can use your notes for all of them. Theres one essay due on another play. He makes you pay for a useless site for no reason and for 3 play tickets
Yarnelle was fine. Very passionate about theatre. He does not post notes online, so going to class is crucial to succeed in the class. With that being said, this is not a difficult class whatsoever.
Yarnelle is a nice guy. To pass his class you need to attend every class because he does not post notes on line. Copy his slideshows word for word because his tests are open note. There are 4 pop quizzes about the readings. There is a lot of reading for this class.
David is really nice, his lectures were fine but they were a bit boring. The textbook is useful towards the midterm and final.
caring and listened to my situation loved the class learned a lot about entertainment
loved oklahoma and going to the theatre
I dropped this class midway because of how difficult it was getting. He expected us to read 23-30 pages almost every time before class. He expected you to write everything off the powerpoints in class, otherwise, you'd be lost the rest of the time. He's a nice teacher, but he says he's making it easy when in reality it's on the hard side.
Interesting class and good with this semester schedule
take the class youll love it
what a passionate man. you can tell he just loves theater. such an easy A. DO NOT DO USHER CREW write the research paper. so easy tests. you do have to go physically see 3 plays which is costly. no homework :)
loved the class and the lectures on fridays would take this class again if i could
university class that opened my eyes to what is entertainment
great class with respectful teacher and assistant who understand my situation and helped me out with assignments that were late because i was in the hospital for three weeks
great class would take it again fun and interesting semester
worked in theatre saw how the theatre really worked liked this class
lectures were interesting and class was fun to go to loved the shows
He's a great teacher, he loves what he teaches and will help you when you ask for his guidance.
Nothing like the course description. More of a philosophy class. Terrible.
Just show up to class and take notes. Most of the pop quizzes are on the notes or videos we watch in class. There is a lot of assigned reading but I never read a single article in that class and I got an A.
Yarnelle is passionate about what he is teaching but the lectures are boring and the entire class revolves around reading and essays. There are 5 pop quizzes and the final is an essay that is difficult. he does nothing through D2L besides post readings. Attendance isn't mandatory but it should be bc you won't pass the class without detailed notes.
VERY GOOD GUY
Professor Yarnelle's TAR106D class was very easy. He was respectful and helpful. Many papers but they were not hard. Also, it was easy to skip class and he usually let out early or cancelled class once a week.
Class is crucial to go to pass class, since no notes are online. David Yarnelle is a cool guy, usually lets class out early. Final is a bunch of essays which can be very difficult. Assignments can be a little time consuming, but not hard.
Such an easy class if you have some level of understanding of fine arts. I didn't watch any of the plays and got a 100 on the first major paper and an 80 on the second. If you work with him, he will work with you. Just search all the documents for the answers on quizzes and tests, and you will be fine. I got all A's on exams and never studied.
His grading is very harsh this year, the past reviews don't line up with what I have experienced in his class. I've had difficult classes before but he doesn't make his expectation clear resulting in grading that doesn't make much sense. He also doesn't post his PowerPoints online so you have to write down basically every word in class.
Yarnelle is such a caring individual and I loved him as a teacher. I got a B in the class and I really did not try. I barely attended class and just went if I was going to turn in a paper. Although, the times I did go, his class was always interesting. Yarnelle doesn't grade the papers, his assistant does, and his assistant is a very hard grader.
The TA was crazy and graded everything so harsh. I think many people complained so we had the chance to redo one thing. He lets you out of class really early and cancels it a lot. If you want a super easy gen ed this isn't the one. I will hopefully finish with a B.
I was able to get an A in this class, but this class was not an easy A. There are many readings, pop quizzes and essays. I was expecting this class to be super fun an easy but I found myself complaining a lot about it. It is possible to get an A, but you need to follow the assignment guidelines closely and explain throughly. Not easy
Professor Yarnelle provided a very easy course, and gave many opportunities to get a high grade within the class. As long as you're not lazy and do not mind some writing this class is an easy A. Often let us out of class early, and was easy to talk to out of class. Papers are easy if you put in effort, and honestly an interesting subject.
has an easy class and have a few papers done and the assignments aren't hard but take time to do.
Awesome class. I ended up learning a lot about entertainment and industry. Assignments and papers required, in class quizzes--no exams.
Although Professor Yarnelle taught during his lectures, he was not clear about what would be on tests. He tended to throw a plethora of information our way and expect us to retain all of it and more. He often gave pop assessments and although there were few assignments, they were all rather large essays and reports.
Thought this would be an easy gened. 4 pop quizzes throughout semester, made skipping class difficult. Lectures were so boring. Extra credit that allowed me to miss a pop quiz, group project, and 5 class periods. Super nice guy outside of class but if youre not a theater kid he wont give you the time of day. Some classes got out early or cancelled
There are a good amount of writing assignments but they are graded really easy if you just put in effort. The lectures can drag on but he lets us out early a lot which is really nice
This class literally makes no sense. I learned nothing. He doesn't answer emails. There are two graders who either give you good grades or bad grades and gives you the same feedback for everything. Learned absolutely nothing and probably the worst class ever.
This class is very important and eye-opening, and Prof. Yarnelle teaches it with a lot of passion. His feedback on papers is really helpful, and the tests are really not that hard if you pay attention and watch the clips and plays that he tells you to. Not super approachable but very nice, so don't worry about it at all.
Yarnelle is an uncaring by the book professor who grades his assignments hard and does not offer additional feedback. Consequentially, his lectures and class materials are not helpful in the slightest. If you have the opportunity to not take him as a prof. then please opt to that. He is not good.
This was such an easy class! All of the tests relate to quizzes and lectures. I did really well on the papers with minimal effort because I paid attention to the rubric. If you work with him, he works with you. If you're looking for an easy art credit I definitely recommend this one!
Not a lot of homework but heavy projects and tests
A lot of the grading criteria were confusing upon first examination and assignments were riddled with spelling and grammatical errors. There were not a lot of assignments to be graded on so there was a lot of pressure on the assignments that were offered. Only take if you can learn from reading long documents for your lecture.
Save yourself the stress...
Limited grading material, manageable difficulty, slightly tedious. Few graded assignments which mean each grade is crucial, but spaced-out due dates that allowed me to don't ever bother checking d2l on this class for weeks sometimes.
Great lesson plan with very fair grading, and as long as you keep up with due dates and are ready for some light writing assignments you will do fine
Course content extremely badly formatted, making comprehension/retention terrible (think 1 long word doc). This can translate to confusion during tests (altho theyre open book). Graded on a few tests, 4 discussions, &2 big projects. Project 2 is super confusing as its 4-5 pages but has a ton of prompt questions (&he wants you to answer all of them)
I never met the professor, so I can't rate him directly, but this class was extremely easy. There was barely any work and all of it took no effort. He gives you a 100 if you submit anything. The class average for every assignment was 95%+.
I picked this class simply because it was an UD humanity that fit into my schedule. I was extremely glad that I did so, and this class was much more rewarding than I expected it to be. We wrote analysis papers and reaction papers of American musicals with clear rubrics and plenty of time to do so. Homework and exam workloads were very manageable.
Honestly such an easy class. yes there is a lot of lecture material but, I didn't even review the lectures and still got A's on all assignments. The criteria can be a little confusing at times but if you turn in anything or put some effort in, you will get an A. Easy class would definitely take again.
TFTV 160 was very easy. I got a 100% on every assignment and a 100% in the class. He gives you things to watch/do but you don't have to do that at all. There is about 10 assignments that make up your whole grade, but they're a breeze, follow his guidlines and rubric and you will be fine. He responds fast as well. Take this class for an easy gen ed.
Professor Yarnelle was very comprehensive. As long as you turn everything in by the deadline and follow the instructions online, getting an A is easy. There are not too many assignments but the few he asks for are a bit long so make sure you do them on time. Also, this class requires a lot of writing. Overall, cool class, and great professor.
Professor Yarnelle's class can be hit or miss. The course content is confusing, but the assignments are manageable. Definitely use Unstuck ai and ChatGPT to prep for tests - they were a huge help!
I took this class as a gen ed and it was so worth it. The course is very light workload with just 3 quizzes and 3 tests, and the answers can all be found on the modules he posts. There were no assignments except 2 papers which can be a little confusing, but he is not a harsh grader at all so if you answer all the prompts you should do just fine.
I took Prof Yarnelles theatre class online and while the modules were pretty lengthy, Prof Yarnelle is super understanding and helpful and as long as you put in the effort for the assignments and show you care about your learning he will be extremely fair.
Horrible. Really hard grader but unclear guidelines and if you follow the guidelines to a t he will still give you a bad grade. At the beginning of the semester, it is so confusing to figure out where assignments are so good luck cause if you can't find them ur grade is cooked from the jump. Also, don't bother contacting him bc he doesn't care!
