Young makes this class a breeze. He drops some tests and quizzes and everything is online. First day of class he told us to use all our resources to pass the tests. You need to actually show up to this class! He shows a lot of videos and you will be tested on them. No fear though his lectures are east to pay attention to because he's a funny guy.

Prof Young is about the best you could ask for - funny, nice, and an easy class with entertaining lectures. I don't know why his rating is not significantly higher. Online exams can be a pain - 60 questions in 60 minutes - but they are open note and online. He drops 2 lowest quizzes AND exams.

His class is super easy! All tests and quizzes are online and open book. His class is fun and he usually shows funny videos to make class interesting.

Very easy A! His lectures are pretty interesting and he really tries to find ways to make class fun. All the tests and quizzes are online and simple. No homework, and he drops the two lowest quiz grades and the two lowest test grades (not including the final). If you can take him, do it!

If I had to summarize his class it was composed of short slides that he posts online, clips and videos, and entertaining lectures. Very easy class and enjoyable if you let it be.

Cool guy, cracks a lot of jokes in class. For the most part everything is very easy. Class isn't boring. But buddy flaw, i had an 89.75 and he didn't bump me. So don't expect that from him

Material is really easy and all available online after class. The classes themselves were well-organized and interesting, so Id recommend showing up.

HIs lectures were really fun and interesting. This class was fairly easy because all materials are online. All tests are online including the final exam. I do recommend going to his lectures because he sometimes covers material that isn't in the textbook that will later be in his tests.

Assignments are based off of material from videos, lectures, and textbook. Easy and fun class. Lots of videos and examples shown in class which are entertaining and relate to the topic. Only thing horrible about it is that some of the videos are dated. Answers are easy to find. Would recommend. Easy class.

Com1000 with Prof Young was an easy A. I only attended two lectures (which consisted of watching videos) and still ended with an A+. Only negative was that the tests were 60 questions and you only had 60 minutes, so they were stressful. Beware that he will NOT round up. If you get a 89.9 it is a B+

I attended class one time, never bought the book. I got a B+. He gives the tests and quizzes "randomly" online, but as long as you check your Canvas every day you'll be fine. We would have like three days to take the test or quiz. Powerpoints are online, we had a GroupMe and quilt helped too

Tests are all online, and can be Googled. He is a really fun professor, and even though I didn't need to go to class to get an A, it was enjoyable. No textbook required, no in class time required. Tests/quizzes may reference videos shown in class, but exact questions are online.

Only went to class once and passed every test (all online and answers on quizlet). I highly recommend him. Only 6 quizzes and 6 exams and he drops the lowest quiz and exam. Most things are on quizlet, so its up to you if you want to buy the $130 textbook and actually learn the material, or just look up the questions. Lots of videos in class. He does go really quickly through lecture slides but he also puts them up on Webcourses in case you miss anything. Pretty cool guy!

Take COM1000! A great class with a great professor. Very clear guidelines in terms of grading; all quizzes and tests are administered online. Attendance is not required but his lectures are great--he shows a lot of videos and is a genuinely entertaining guy. Workload for this class is completely doable. Cannot recommend enough.

Lectures are not mandatory and are more or less for your own enjoyment. He shows a lot of videos and makes jokes so its usually pretty entertaining. DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK. All tests including the final are given online, so its hard to get less than a B. One of the most entertaining and nicest professors I've had. Recommend!

I loved prof Young! Going to lecture is not mandatory but I wanted to go because I enjoyed them. He relates the material to the real world and is kind of funny in a dad way. His lectures are very well thought out and easy to follow. All of the tests are online and on quizlet.

Funny professor, shows a lot of videos in class to explain concepts that's in the textbook. Test questions might be tricky sometimes but quizlet provide majority of the answers but the down side is that not all answers are correct, the reason why I know this is because I actually studied and read the textbook. A is definitely possible.

The class was easy and the lectures amusing. Exam questions were mostly based on the textbook and some lecture videos/notes. Quizlet has most of the Q/A but not everything. If you get questions wrong on the exam, you won't know what you got wrong. Dr. Young also won't round your grade. There was one easy 1-2 min speech assignment (self-recorded).

So you should probably read the textbook and go to lectures because you'll be able to do the easy online exams. However I didn't buy a textbook and just went to his fun lectures and used quizlet on all of his exams. So I am not sure you need to buy the book, just attend the fun lectures to get the GIST of whats going on and then use quizlet.

Hands down, most entertaining professor I've ever had. He makes COM so interesting and fun through daily videos. You don't need the book, everything is on his powerpoints. You don't even need to go to class, but I went almost every day. That's how great he was! This will be the easiest class you will ever take at UCF. All exams are online.

This class was very easy! You do not need to go to the lecture, but if you do, Professor Young will show a lot of interesting video clips.

Lots of the exam and quiz material comes from in-class discussion so attendance is recommended highly. Overall pretty easy class. Dont have to worry about the one speech, if you do it at all youll get full credit. Questions on each quiz and exam overlap for the entire course. Sometimes you get to watch a video for the full class time.

Dr. Young has fantastic lectures! They're super engaging and he almost always shows videos that are funny and relevant to the topics. He does ask questions about the videos on the exams so even though he doesn't take attendance, it's wise to go to class. I also ended up using the textbook a lot. Exams are open-note but they're timed.

Professor Young was one of the easiest classes I took. Be sure to show up for class because he gives away test answers and most of his tests is based on videos watched in class. We rarely have homework and he posts all the PowerPoints he shows in class to webcourses.

He is adorable with a cartoonish voice very sweet but serious and has some pretty cool lectures do yourself a favor and show up because he is so cute and has some good content. There is an occasionally pop quiz that being in class would help immensely but he honestly has very easy tests especially if you read the chapter and listen in class.

This class is extremely easy, there is no way you can fail. You do not have to go to the lectures, however if you do go you are in for a good laugh and interesting lecture. He is very kind. It was a chill and interesting class. Prof Young's lectures are funny and laidback, usually composed of videos and episodes of Mad Men. He announces quizzes and their content in class. Exams are based on the textbook and in-class videos. Don't bother coming to him with any excuses, otherwise, you'll have a great time.

Also a short (1-2 minute) speech assignment which is just a video submission. Only went to class on the syllabus day and currently have a 94. Take Prof Young for easy credit and a GPA booster.

Good choice for a COM 1000 class. Lectures are long but interesting and he gives example questions of what will be asked on quizzes/exams. Make sure to go to lecture and read the book!! Tests are online 60 questions/60 minutes not proctored. For a 1000 level class I found it to be somewhat difficult. Attendance mandatory if you want an A

Loved Young's lectures they were all so nice I was generally excited to go to them. His class is super easy and mixed-mode. All the tests and quizzes are super easy and there are many "resources" to help you. Limited textbook use but it is online if you need it. I loved taking his class for the GEP such a sweet professor.

Class is full of interesting TV show, news, and movie clips and he really tries to make sure you understand the material. Says at the beginning of the semester that his class is an easy Ahe wasnt wrong at all! All tests and quizzes are taken online and little to no in-class assignments.

I really enjoyed taking COM1000 with Professor Young because his lectures were always engaging and entertaining! The exams were kind of difficult, but there's many resources to help you with that. One short speech assignment that you record outside of class, 6 online quizzes, and 5 exams + the final. Overall, an easy class!

For this prof and class, you can get by in the class with an A without attending all the classes. Maybe 1/ 4. He lectures and combines videos, which keeps things lighthearted and easy to follow. I did not end up using the book more than for about 10 minutes total. You get out what you put in. If you have to take Com1000, might as well take Young.

The A, A- grading sucks. I had an A and needed a 93 on the final to keep it and I got it, but my friend wasn't as lucky. Thats a 3.75 vs 4.0 on your GPA. He doesn't round grades. Answers are online but some aren't. Questions are reused but you can't see what you get right/wrong. Didn't use textbook. Kind of hard to get an A for a 1000 class.

Professor Young makes this class more interesting than you would expect. It is a mixed-mode class, so the tests and quizzes were given online. You do not need to give a presentation, but there is one recorded speech you turn in towards the end of the course. Despite the transition to remote instruction, the course was well maintained.

A funny professor that keeps lectures interesting. Oftentimes, half of the lecture will be slides and the other will be an interesting video or movie/tv scene corresponding with the material. Towards the end, there is a mandatory recorded speech but it's not harshly graded or difficult even for those who don't love speaking in front of a camera.

Quizzes/tests are extremely easy and straightforward. Attend lecture because he shows videos that are referenced as test material but are not always uploaded in his powerpoints. Powerpoints are not that informational so attend lecture for his elaboration. Funny/nice guy that does not want to make your life difficult.

Professor Young is another professor that lays his class out and makes it easy for everyone. The class consists of quizzes and one speech and is the best choice for the GEP. The class and professor are great. I took it in summer online during corona and still was able to enjoy and pass the class with ease.

First professor ive had that doesnt teach straight out of the textbook. You will have to read the textbook but he gives a lot of outside examples and videos for more understanding. Easy class the only hard part is you do have to watch all of the videos and you will be tested on it meaning answers arent all online and easy to find

Class with Prof Young is extremely manageable. I recommend you read all the textbook for definitions primarily and then all of his modules and WATCH ALLLL of his videos. It takes time guys but its worth it if you want that A. His class is really easy, he repeats questions on tests. The only thing is he doesnt tell you what you got wrong on them.

If you don't want to stress make sure you watch every video he posts because they're all over the quizes/tests. But if you don't you'll still get a low A

Overall easy class the concepts are pretty simple. Only grades are quizzes and tests so do not fail any because it will hurt your grade a lot. There is one speech assignment but it was an easy A. The written "lectures" were more engaging than the textbook, but there were a decent amount of videos to watch so don't procrastinate. Lots of notes.

An easy class. His class only consisted of Exams and quizzes given once a week. They were all open notes/books, therefore it was pretty easy. The catch is that you have a minute to answer each question. Therefore, if you had 80 questions, you had 80 minutes to answer. There were also questions on videos he put in modules, so you had to watch them.

As long as you read the modules you'll do good on the quizzes, and exams. He also drops the lowest grade for one quiz, and one Exam. 10/10 would recommend this class to a friend. However there is no extra credit.

Textbook is necessary to pass and I liked that his modules didn't repeat what was stated in the textbook. He gave you new and important info. Lots of videos to watch to understand concepts which is more engaging. Tests and quizzes are open note/ textbook and although all tests are cumulative, they're easy because he asks the same questions.

Young was overall a great professor and the course was incredibly easy. His really only flaw is that he has an INCREDIBLY liberal bias. I can't stress this enough. He uses a lot of his examples as a chance to attack conservatives and pushes a lot of his beliefs on students. If you can get past that though he is a great professor.

Bojack Horseman) I truly enjyed this class and Professor Young is such a kind person who really cares about his students. This class is super easy and doesn't require a lot of time and effort. I enjoyed this class overall but only because of the professor. The content was extremely boring but his videos that went along with notes made it more enjoyable. All exams had questions from precious exams which made it much easier. Be sure to watch the videos and take notes because the content was on exams and quizzes.

Relatively easy course, although I know some students who struggled w/ it. I managed to get good grades just by focusing on his modules and by casually reading the textbook. I thought the modules he produced were entertaining and thoughtful, but others might think his humor is too 'boomer'.

EASY A! If you need a filler class definitely take this one. Quizzes/exams due on Saturdays but are open for a week before the due date. The questions are almost the same every time. One 5 minute video due on a super easy topic, like your least favorite job. 10/10 recommend!

Seems like a really nice guy w/a good sense of humor, but it was a ton of reading (from textbook and modules that he created). Quiz or exam every week (alternating), and they were filled with a ton of information that was difficult to retain. Never released the answers after to learn what you did wrong. Just the general topics that the class missed

Prof. Young is very personable; you can feel his personality in his lectures (modules). He made the class more enjoyable overall with his attitude and the videos he assigns to watch. This class is not very interactive (like most online classes), but the work load is definitely manageable. I would recommend him!

Fantastic teacher that really cares about his students. Grade is based on 6 quizzes, 5 exams, and a short video assignment. All the material comes from the textbook and the modules, which contain very interesting videos and additional readings. I recommend everybody take this class to meet their GEP 3 requirement. You will not regret it!

I blinked and half this class was over. All the course's content could be found online, because I took it online obviously. All right there on the webcourses page and nowhere else! Young had interesting examples, which taught me much more than the textbook. If you're smart it shouldn't take more than 3 hours/module, although they open weekly.

I took this class online over the summer. For the most part it was at your own pace. Not heavy on the work load. Any questions that people got wrong on the previous quiz, he posts explanations for the questions and then repeats on them on the following quizzes so you can redeem yourself. Easy A. Very cool teacher. Super chill, which fits the level of effort required for COM1000. He has fun pop-culture references to help understanding the topics. The lectures where these were played were the most important to attend, but you can still find most of them on youtube or netflix.

I love professor young! You could skip all the lectures and still get an A in his class, but his lectures are enjoyable and funny and worth attending. As long as you do all your assignments you will get an A/B. Most answers for quizzes/exams are in the textbook but you can still pass without the textbook, I rarely used it

A really good professor. He makes the lectures interesting by showing videos and pics. He does post the lecture slides online after class. He has cumulative exams and quizzes based on the chapters and you can usually find the answers online. You have to do communication participation but their online surveys usually.

The class is fairly easy and most information in lectures and the textbook are used in tests, while Mr. Young is an excellent professor. I never received a B on any exam or quiz and still was pretty close to an A-, if you want an A you're gonna have to put some effort into it.

Mr. Young is entertaining and likable, which makes his lectures enjoyable enough. He includes pop culture references and videos so class goes by pretty fast. However, don't write this off as an easy A - the quizzes and exams are based on the textbook more than lectures and he uses a +/- scale so it was a fight to get above a 93 right at the end.

He's honestly one of the best lecturers at UCF and even though attendance was not mandatory I would go to lectures just because they were entertaining. But make sure to do well on quizzes and tests because the class is test-heavy.

Young's class is made of 6 open-note quizzes (1 dropped), a video assignment, 5 open-note exams (1 dropped), a final exam, and some extra-credit. His lectures involve watching a lot of videos. Overall, not a lot of note-taking. He doesn't use honorlock, but his tests are only 60 minutes for 60 questions which can be overwhelming. Easy A though.

Class is mandatory but he posts the power points at the end of the week so you could technically pass without going but his lectures are so much fun and easy to follow. Prof. Young is a great lecturer and makes the material interesting. The only reason I wouldn't give him a 5 is because he doesn't tell you what you get wrong on tests/ quizzes and he uses the same questions in future exams so if you get some wrong, you're not sure which they are and may get them wrong again. He doesn't really teach, he uses examples from shows/movies to explain his concepts. That being said, its an easy class and I actually feel like I learned something. Never opened the textbook but showed up to every lecture. If he shows a full episode of something, expect it to be on the next test with specific questions.

Great class, so easy. Proffessor is literally so nice and funny. I would recommend going to the first few weeks and taking in depth notes since tests are open note. But towards the end you can stop going. Large class so no group projects or presentations.

Insanely easy class, but very valuable. Lots of fun; a good chunk of his lectures are just watching videos, but they still taught you something and often showed up on quizzes. Not a lot of assignments other than quizzes and tests (cumulative.) Very interesting and an all around great time.

Super fun and easy class! Lectures consist of PowerPoint presentations and applying what you learn to lots of videos you will watch in-class. Prof. Young is nice, conversational, and makes tons of jokes. Understand the concepts in the lessons, take notes, and you'll do well. He goes over questions students missed in the following class to help.

Professor Young was a pretty great teacher. A good amount of quiz and exam questions came from lectures and videos shown in class. He was a really funny and personable guy. The online textbook helped a lot, but most of the quiz/exam answers can be found online. That's a majority of the assignments.

He's really a sweet dude! Very quintessential 1000 level professor who really cares about his subject. He is very strict with online deadlines but you do have a week for almost every assignment. Everything is open book/note but I do suggest you actually read the textbook at least once before the test. Attendance isn't mandatory but it is helpful.

Prof. Young understands that his class is usually just a pre-req so nothing is super hard and the assignments are just quizzes and exams with one video assignment. He posts all lectures online after class, but will not link all the in class videos, therefore making attendance mandatory, but he never takes attendance.

There were a lot of students yet he never hesitated to help any of them. In one of the assignments I explained to him my situation and he was very understanding. Does a good job explaining the content and his exams are open book and open note, which comes in handy as a busy student with many more classes.

Great professor and he makes his lectures fun. He utilizes movie clips to help inforce his communication lectures. Fantastic professor.

Wow, this class surprised me a little. Definitely not your easy A. The quizzes were very toss-up, tests much better, but it's sort of like an online class. I attended a couple of lectures and he is a very charismatic and likable guy. His overall class structure can be slow and old at times. Overall, not the easiest A, but great class and professor.

Went to 3-4 lectures, from what I could tell, lectures are funny and enjoyable. Fairly easy A even without lectures, grades come from quizzes and tests, all on webcourses. All questions are recycled word for word as each quiz and exam progresses. Quizzes and Exams are all very very fast-paced (1 minute/question) but all mostly common sense.

Took this online during Summer B. He released the work for the week every Monday. If you sit down for literally 30 mins, you can finish everything you need to do for the entire week. Quizzes are super easy and the exam questions are word for word the quiz questions. Would recommend!!!!!

Solid choice. Took over the summer and usually had 1 quiz and 1 exam per week. Tests were fairly easy and were based on material from the module and textbook. Quizzes were based on some outside resource, such as a TV episode or YouTube clip and thus some questions were tricky. One recorded speech assignment; fairly easy, just 2-5 mins on a topic.

Amazing professor. The quizzes and exams could be found on quizlet or his lecture notes. Although his final was a little difficult, it was a very easy A. One video assignment but that was also straightforward and easy. Took this over the summer online.

Really entertaining lectures that although you don't really need, you would want to attend. As long as you purchase the online textbook and put some effort into the course it should be an easy grade. If you're taking this for the gen-ed sheet 100% take this course.

10/10 Lectures, as we watched a large assortment of video clips that were both entertaining and highly applicable to the subject topics. There's a lack of feedback on missed questions. The exams consistently bring back old questions that you may have gotten wrong but it's hard to know if you were getting them wrong.

Class is just quizzes and exam, all online. Mostly based off the lectures which were pretty entertaining.

The class was honestly so easy. I really didn't feel the need to stress too much over it, and I looked forward to going to it. Easy quizzes, easy enough exams (although there was limited time). You can use notes on quizzes and exams which is a plus. The class was super entertaining too, he played lots of fun videos.

This was by far my favorite class I took all semester. The lectures are the highlight of this class theyre super interesting and he puts videos that are not only really interesting and funny but they also apply to what we learn in class. The quizzes and exams are really easy.

This class was great, while he does take a lot of material that is used in class and puts it in test and quizzes, you can get away with not going every class(GO TO CLASS, YOU PAY FOR IT) and still do very well. Great guy

He's a cool professor, there are quizzes based on the lectures, and the exams are all based on prior quizzes and exams, if you come to the lecture, and pay attention, you should do fine. I got an A and I never studied, but I did come to class every week.

I only went to his lectures the first couple weeks of the semester and still got an a. Very easy class and he posts the notes online after lectures. There was questions on quizzes about in class videos but are pretty self explanatory.

Your only grades are going to be quizzes and tests. Test are super stressed for time, but communications in general is very easy to understand. His lectures are so funny, will genuinely miss his humor.

Show up to the lectures, they are only 50 minutes and tend to be released early anyway. A lot of test questions are pulled from videos he plays and discusses. He is funny! Quiz/tests are a little hard w/o quizlet and being at class.

Honestly you can get an A without ever showing up to class, I only went the first few weeks and his lectures were pretty fun. You can find the textbook online, he posts the lectures on canvas and people have created quizlets but they are not 100% trustworthy so beware. Overall great professor and easy class, definitely recommend for the GEP.

Literally just come to class and take notes on the lectures and it's a guaranteed good grade. The class is unbelievably straightforward, and his Canvas is neat and organized. There is nothing that will catch you by surprise, and his class is a nice alternative to an actual speech GEP class.

This class was an easy GEP class to take. As long as you go to class and take some notes, you'll do fine. Professor Young is interesting and he makes you watch a few videos that are funny and help you remember what you're learning.

Professor Young is a great lecturer because he is funny and engaging. I would suggest trying to attend a majority of the lectures because he will mention important concepts in class that are not mentioned in the book. I found this really confusing because I would not know how to study for exams since he tests on this information on the exams.

I always look forward to attending his lectures. They're very entertaining. However, I suggest pulling up his slides during the lecture, if you do go, because he doesn't give you time to take notes. Also, you'll need to be familiar with both the textbook chapter and his slides, since not everything is included in one.

Chill and funny professor for an incredibly easy class. Every exam is open note and many of the questions will appear multiple times, essentially giving free points. His lectures were short and entertaining, he seems to have a great personality, and a lot of what I learned can be applied directly to real life.

I took COM1000. The grades were primarily based on small quizzes that were given on Webcourses that comprised of content from the book and his lectures, but they tended to be easy. His lectures were very entertaining due to the fact that they're paced well and that professor Young is quite funny.

I absolutely loved this professors lectures. Very entertaining very simple very clear and concise. Many videos and movie snippets were shown during class. Workload is very light, course content is very simple and mostly common sense. Can fully be accessed online but the lectures made it worth coming to. Definitely recommend!

I had Professor Young for COMM1000, he made the class very easy and enjoyable. The class was 5 exams, all built off of each other. Also 7 quizzes mostly based off stuff you learned in class. Even though attendance isn't mandatory, you should attend if you want good quiz grades. Overall great professor! I would take this class again.

This class is very easy for students. There are many resources available online to assist with coursework. I found his lectures interesting because he incorporates a lot of videos. This class does not take up a lot of your time outside of class. Overall, I had a positive experience in this class and found it to be a breeze.

It's COM1000 so it's a pretty basic class online. Tests and quizzes and that's about it and the material is incredibly easy to remember if you pay attention to the readings for the week! Id recommend this as a class and professor if you need to just fill out your schedule due to the short amount of time you need to dedicate to it.

Prof. Young is a funny, respectful, and nice guy. The classes are usually cut 10-20 minutes short, and he always has funny videos or pictures. Some class periods were spent just watching an episode of Penn and Teller's B*llsh*t. There are many quizzes+exams, but they are not hard. Very good class for freshmen or those who need an easy, chill class.

This class was by far the easiest class of my first semester! Do not buy the textbook, you do not need it. Tests and quizzes were very easy. I ended with an A and stopped attending after a month!

Took this as a GEP and I'm glad I chose this course for my communications requirement. His lectures are engaging, but they will also prep you for quizzes at times (make sure you attend them). He does ask questions from the textbook for exams, so make sure you spend time focusing on that as well. Overall, he's a great professor.

COMs was a fun course, though the way Young taught it did the majority of the heavy lifting. The course is textbook heavy, yes, however, if you attend almost every lecture, the textbook becomes less to manage. I love the way he taught the course, but there was some lack of passion/energy from him. But overall, COMs was made simple by Mr. Young 8/10

There was a textbook for his class, but I never actually used it. Most of the information you can find online. There was either a quiz or exam every week, but nothing too complicated. The exams are typically over 50 questions though so it can take some time out of your day but nothing too hard. Professor gave no homework.

This man made getting up at 8 for class actually bearable. If you go to classes and do well on the tests and quizzes (and not forget them like I did :( ) then you'll do great. The exams always have them same questions and then some and the final is all the exams in one.

I was not expecting to learn too much in the class, since it was just another required class, but I honestly learned so much. His lectures also are not mandatory which was super nice and every assignment and test is online.

This was the most engaging online class I have ever taken. It shows that his specialty is communication. It was interesting and relevant to the audience, and made me look forward to logging in every week. I would recommend this to anyone who needs an easy, interesting elective.

Very well organized online class. Only graded on quizes and exams. Very easy, exams and quizzes are open note. Read the modules, they are excellent and contain lots of media to watch. Please note, you will be tested on the content of 2 episodes of shows you will have to buy. You must watch these before taking the test.

Pretty easy GEP, 93% for an A is dumb and he doesn't round up. Graded mostly by both 50-70 question exams and 5-10 question quizzes that you cannot backtrack on after selecting an answer. Would have been a lot better if quizzes/exams were all just accessible from the start instead of having narrow submission windows.

Professor Young's lectures are relaxed and he goes over material from the textbook. All the exams and quizzes are open note, though they're the only grades for the class. He shows clips from shows in lectures, and some quiz answers are based on them. The course uses a +/- grading system, but if you pay attention and do the work you'll be fine.

The content is very direct & not confusing, & the only work is super easy quizzes/tests. i took this class in real life and im glad i did. the lectures are very entertaining, most of the time he just puts on a show that talks about communications/whatever we're learning. the class overall was very easy, but make sure to show up to class because sometimes the quizzes are based on what he talked about in the lecture ONLY.

Professor Young posts all of his PowerPoints and lets you use the book, the slides, and your notes in EVERY assignment including the final which makes this class pretty easy as long as you take notes. His lectures are fun and he tends to finish about ten minutes early. He doesn't grade on attendance but he does not post any of the in class videos.

Class content is so easy but the quizzes/tests are ALL cumulative and most of the questions are on the videos, so you HAVE to watch them. Vocab from the textbook is important ofc but I got questions wrong on the quizzes bc he pulled videos from throughout the course, one of which was 53 minutes long. But its an easy GEP and u have sm time for it

Fav class to go to, funniest professor ever. His lectures are simple & he puts in modern funny references to keep you interested. You don't have to read the textbook but all quizzes & exams are opennote. Sometimes they will have questions that you'll only know if you went to class. The only assignments are quizzes and exams so do well on those.

Pretty easy course. The lectures were interesting and funny. Professor Young clearly cares about the content and is engaging. Just don't forget about the quizzes and tests since they are pretty much the only grades.

Only reason this class can be remotely difficult is if you don't buy the textbook and need to find the info for tests and quizzes online. Otherwise, class is pretty free, and he opens up the entire course early on so you have the option of completing the entire course quickly if you choose to do so.

Assignments are just quizzes and exams. The only downside about them is that you only have one minute per question which can get stressful as the exams are very long. He does open all of them at once so you can just go through and finish everything early. Overall pretty straightforward class.

Easy gep class. Quizzes are sometimes completely based on in-class lectures so it is worth going if you need a high quiz grade. Tests are not related to lectures for the most part. Be sure to look at due dates as some quizzes and tests close in the middle of the day.

Very easy class. Don't need to attend class, but if he plays a video in class it won't be in the slides he posts and it will be on quizzes/tests, so it definitely benefits you to go. Every exam is cumulative, but you don't have a lot of time 60 minutes for 60 questions and once you hit next, you can't go back to any past questions.

It's the easiest class ever. You can finish the entire class in probably a couple of hours. Don't buy the textbook you don't need it. I finished the entire class within the first few weeks of the semester. It's a free A. This class takes zero effort.

Attendance is not mandatory, however the only assignments in your grade book will be quizzes and tests so be sure to do well as they take over most of your grade. They are not monitored and you can do it whenever you want before the deadline.

super funny even just through text content. wished i could've taken him in person. the textbook info was actually super intriguing, and combined with his snl clips, documentaries, and module wording, the content stuck with me. super easy gep!

I really wish I could have taken him in person! The online version is a worry-free class, but has no assignments beyond the quizzes and tests, so every single exam matters. The content is easy to digest and he can be silly.

There's a lot of reading, but I recommend writing down vocab and key points from each chapter—it helps with memory and works great for the open-note, open-book exams. Lectures are funny and interesting, and while some videos are long, they're still entertaining and worth watching.

Grade was determined by 10 assignments, but the exams aren't too bad and the material he gives is fun to watch / read. I had him for Summer B, so I can't speak for the longer semesters but in general it was a fun and quick course.

My only problem was that some assignments were due on the weekends so if you tend to do things on the day they're due, and don't check on the weekend, you'll get a bad grade in a very easy class.

Very funny professor and the lectures are very entertaining. The homework isn't too bad, but the exams can be a little annoying. Overall, this is a pretty easy class.

Took this over summer B and it was pretty easy. There's a module to read and assignments weekly. Nothing too crazy, pretty easy credit. Would take again.

Content wasn't super hard, but going to class defiantly helps. He's really funny and makes the lectures interesting so it's not terrible. Graded by 5 exams and 7 quizzes plus the final which isn't my favorite, but he drops the lowest quiz/test.

This class was light and fun. Basically everything was online but going to lectures was worth it. They were funny and I learned a lot. You could probably get an A without going to lectures or reading the textbook since everything is open note.

Loved his energy and lectures! You do not need the book to do well in the class. I opened it like twice in total, and it was only at the beginning of the class.
