I normally hate english & time usually goes by so slow in class, but he made things interesting & time would fly by. He tends to grade hard, just write simple and check your grammar and you should do fine! He gives quizzes and extra credit to raise grades

Dr. Zimmermann is the best teacher I have ever had. Be prepared for him to be a harda** at first, but once he weeds out the students who don't want to be there, it is a great class. BEST TEACHER EVER

The best english teacher i've ever known. He likes to have a one on one relationship with his students. He tends to enjoy picking on his classes which makes it very interesting. I would take him all throughout college if i could.

I am an English major and I really appreciated all the help he gave me. His class is fast paced but he makes it funny and he is very open to giving you one on one time. He even let me do a different assingment for our last paper because he thought I "had a lot of good ideas" which I appreciated. Overall I respect, admire, and appreciate him.

I had Dr. Zimmermann my first year at MC and I credit him with both enlightening me and inspiring my interest in the world of literature and writing. He administered me for an Honors project over Paradise Lost last year for Brit Lit and was abundantly helpful and patient. I encourage everyone to take as many of his courses. Zimmerman is extremely unapproachable and kind of a jerk. Don't get me wrong, though, he's extremely interesting and his class is very informative--but as a teacher... you might want to try to get another one.

Dr. Z is so awesome! He is really tough on papers but if you read your material and know your stuff he will help out alot. He has great stories and he's not bad to look at.

I loved Dr. Zimmerman. He's very sarcastic, but a very big help if you want to make an A. You can ask for his help on your papers and he won't make you feel bad, etc. He'll also read over them and correct things for you before you turn it in. Overall a good teacher.

I took this guy for 3 different English classes and he is awesome. One of those teachers that's so good he inspired me to want to be a teacher to hopefully be half as good as this guy. Not an easy teacher by any means though. I got a 'c' in all three classes, but that's cause I'm a lazy pos.

I had professor Zimmerman about a year ago and was so moved by his passion towards English Lit and creative writing that I swiched my major to to english. He is very approachable and gets the class involved in his lectures, which are very interesting. If I hadn't moved I would have taken more classes from him!

I took Dr. Zimmermann’s class on Japanese Anthologies simply because he was the teacher. I enjoyed the class and learned a lot. I learned far too much about Japanese culture for not caring that much about it. I have signed up for his English Literature class, which will be the third English class that I have taken of his.

He was mean. I worked very hard in this class but he still gave me bad grades. I got tutoring on all my papers but still go a C- on every paper. If it's not done his way, watch out. He didn't care about this class. Don't take him if you don't want to work hard and get your work crucified.

Dr. Z is a great prof. His classes are as hard as you make them out to be. He just wants you to understand what he his trying to teach you about lit. I took his Japanese Anthology class and loved it! He is willing to help those who are really trying to grasp whats being taught. He grades tough on papers its mostly the grammar that irritates him

Dr. Zimmermann is a great teacher. Don't take him if you are not a good writer though because he has high expectations on papers! I wasn't so sure about him at first, but now that the semester is over, I would definatley take him for another english class!

GREAT PROFESSOR! Not easy, but fun and FAIR! Those on here that say he wasn't helpful or didn't care are just wrong.

He's very funny BUT go to class as much as possible. Just do most of the reading you will be fine. The readings quizzes aren't to stump you; they are just to see if you read or not. Even if you read the spark notes you'll be ok. He's more strict about the papers but he gives you SEVERAL chances to improve your grade. He just wants you to learn.

A living predator. I learned tremendously though. If you like challenges, you will enjoy it. If you are just some dude trying to get an easy grade, get ready to slowly be torn apart.

Dr. Zimmermann is a great teacher. He gives a lot of quizzes and he gives them in the very first 2 minutes of class. So, if you are late you miss them. They are a piece of cake if you have done your reading. He chooses epics and novels instead of making you read a text book. He cares about his students and has a sense of humor. Highly recommended.

Probably the funniest and hardest professors Ive ever had. Always has a sarcastic humor but also expects a lot from you. However I was surprised when we only had to do a 10min. group presentation for our finals. Bottom line, if you absolutely LOVE literature and writing take his class. If you're expecting overwise then I wish you the best of luck.

He is my favorite of any teacher/professor I have ever had. His classes are tough but in a good way. He motivates his students and expects a lot out of them, as us students expect a lot out of our professors. I have taken two of his classes because i enjoy them so much. Expect to read and write papers.

he's a really nice teacher outside of class and can be very funny but he is very serious in class and expects a lot of his students. the essay topics can get pretty difficult but he is always available in his office. be sure not to come to class late he can get kind of rude. don't take him if you are not interested in epics from other countries.

If you are not intersested in literature, try to find a teacher who is more eager to handout A's because this class is a lot of work. He expects a lot out of his students. If you aren't in class you will miss out on a lot. The papers get easier as the semester progresses. Do not turn in work/papers late! He is sacrcastic but very funny.

Attendance is extremely mandatory, i.e. missing more than one class will hurt your grade drastically. Quiz everyday in his class, and quizzes are worth 30 percent of your grade. Only choose this professor if you are highly into world literature.

The class was very interesting and entertaining. I actually enjoyed his biting wit as well as the way he encouraged class discussion. He definitely challenges the way you think, but you come out of the class having learned quite a few things.

Awesome instructor. If you go to class everyday and work hard you will do fine. He makes the class fun. You do need to attend class regularly because of the quizzes but he will work with you if he sees you actually care. I got a B in the class but I could have had an A if I didn't miss so much class.

AMAZING TEACHER! I learned more from Zimmermann than I ever thought I could from a community college teacher. His class is nowhere near an easy A, but I did feel very accomplished after finishing it. Highly recommend to anyone taking English at Lonestar.

Why isn't this guy teaching at Stanford or something? Badass teacher. Very tough class though. If you're going for an easy A grade, you will NOT do well in this class. If you're going to really learn about literature and writing, this is the guy. He is ruthless with grading, but he gives long explanations on why he graded, which is VERY helpful. A+

i loved this professor he is the reason i am doing well later in life he cares about his students and is a hell of a teacher i wish i could take him for every class. he's a harsh grader on papers but if you work with him or talk to him about your grade he is more then willing to help plus he's a total hotty i never missed a class :)

Took him for my 3rd english, and learned alot and had fun! My research paper was a play that my group and I performed for the class with a powerpoint show. He loved it!! He's very fun and cares about all his students! Show up all the time and read the little books and you should ACE! Plus he's hilarious! That helped :)

I took Dr. Z over the winter break for 1301. I loved his class. While it wasn't the easiest class ever..I was working and have a 2 yr old...I made a good grade. He really wants his students to learn! I am taking him next semester for 1302!

Very tough, but he wants his students to learn. He is a very effective teacher. More work than a regular english class, but I believe that after taking his ENGL 1302, my writing skills have significantly improved. He's also funny so it keeps the class interesting.

was a 1302 horror writing class, basically a 1302 class with normal formal writing, no horror. but still a good class. he's a hard grader and theres a lot of work but is what one would expect for a college professor. since of humor funny to most offensive to most. i learned a lot. i enjoyed writing over a movie. book was funky but tolorable.

Best professor I've ever had. His lectures are like a great novel in that its hard to understand where he is going with them at the beginning, but he ties everything up at the end very poetically. He has beautiful insights. I'm going to miss his class.

His class is not easy, its a lot of work. If you come to class and do what you are supposed to though you should have no problems getting a good grade. He is snarky with students but in the end he does care about everyone. He is pretty leanent with moving stuff back if the majority of the class is having a hard time finishing the assignment.

Not an easy teacher but he really cares about his students success. If you log-in everyday you will do well in his class. He has a lot of assignments but he helps you get them done and grades very fairly! He likes when his students participate.

Dr. Z is an amazing Professor. A lot of reading in the beginning but if you stay on track things get easier as it goes. Give it your all and he will grade you accordantly. Super nice guy. Can be confusing sometimes but he loves questions and will work with you. Very snarky and sarcastic (will call you out in class), so if you don't handle that well then don't take him, but I though it was funny. Over all positive class.

Dr. Z, is the best for English. I have learned so much from him. This was my second consecutive semester with him. I took him for Eng 1302 last semester, got a B in the class. Class was fun, he has a great sense of humor, and truly loves what he does and is there to make sure his students are successful if they put the effort in.

He's so funny! He likes to joke and interact with his students. He can be snarky, but you'll get use to it. He tells you what he wants and is there to answer any questions. He truly does care about his students and wants them all to be successful. If you work hard, then getting an A won't be an issue. Great professor for English!

I took the class online. Clearly, most people on here have reviewed his face-to-face class. A lot of assignments are unclear and you have to ask for further assistance, but he is willing to help. Essays are graded holistically, so don't expect to get a good grade based only on format and content. Essays graded fairly quickly, discussions are not.

Note that there is no textbook, though there is a lot of reading out of the assigned literature. He's really into it and the reading is really good. Fun class.

Dr. Z's 6 week Comp II online course was exceptional. His expectations are clear, and he is readily available to assist students with any concerns. It is a very writing-intensive course, and you must work for your grades. However, he gives detailed feedback, and he provides the tools necessary to work through the assignments successfully. Take him!

Dr. Z is exceptional. I took his online class, and although I had to work for my A, he was there every step of the way. His assignments transition easily from one to the next, making it simple to follow the class. He provides phenomenal feedback and makes sure that his expectations are clear. Would DEFINITELY take again. He made me a better writer.

I took the fast paced class in Fall and will take his class ENGL 1302. He responses to emails in timely matter. He is very straight forward in what he requires. He mostly gives clear instructions and gives clarification when asked. Participation is a must for the discussion board.

Dr.Z, as he likes to be called, is definitely NOT a professor you want to take for 2332 IF you don't plan on getting your PHD in ancient Literature. He makes it VERY clear that he if you're not obsessed with literature, he's not into you as a student. Even if you do all your work and show up every day, he'll give you a hard time. Not a fan of him.

Professor Z, that crazy guy! He is very innovative when it comes to assignments. If the class is responsible enough, he allows the students to drive the schedule. He's very flexible, will throw out readings if the class is not comfortable. If you can't pass his class, you probably lack human interaction skills. But not in a bad way.

I took Engl 1302 as an online mini with him. It was fairly easy for such a fast-paced class. We had two discussion board assignments due everyday, and a paper due at the end of each week (he usually gave until Sunday to finish and submit them). The papers were graded fairly and he got the grades back faster than any other teacher I've had.

Prof Z is great at what he does. His classes are theme based so it's easier to understand. There is a lot of reading for this class but he makes it interesting by tying the old epics with modern works of literature. Class participation is a must! If you are not going to show up for class you will fail. He'll work with you if you have a problem.

Dr. Zimmermann is a great example of what a college english professor should be. He grades essays pretty hard but is never unfair. He expects you work for your grade. There are 4 formal essays that count as 60% of your grade, 15% participation, and 25% discussions. Answer all the questions on discussions you'll get A's on those. Short emailer!!!

Seriously talented professor. You will definitely learn something in this class. His classes are interesting. There is always a theme which makes it fun. He grades tough but if you work hard he will work with you. He appreciates effort and participation.

English is not my strongest subject and I was afraid of taking a minimester class online. Best English professor ever! He is always there to help. Gives good advice, gives grades back quick. 4 major papers total (3-4 pages each) including final. Final was one page. One or two daily discussion posts. Easy but you have to earn your A. Recommend.

In order to pass this class, you need to be there! Participation and interaction is a key point in Professor Zimmermann's class. At the same time, he is a pretty laid back professor with a unique sense of humor. He will work with you if you are struggling, as long as you show you are doing your work and maintaining a good work ethic.

Took online mini, finished with A. Highly recommend Dr. Z. He grades and responds quick and gives really good feedback. Daily discussion posts and 4 SHORT assignments-two are papers. I enjoyed the short reading and actually learned without really trying. Super nice guy; this is as good as it gets for English. Don't need the book either. Take him.

I have never enjoyed an English class as much as I have his. No textbook needed, but he assigned short speculative fiction stories. WAY more interesting than the reading for any other English class I have taken. I highly recommend taking him! He makes sure his student understand exactly what he wants in the papers. He does do group projects.

I think Dr. Z forgets this isn't Dead Poets Society. This is freshmen English at a community college. Chill bro. Not clear on grading criteria, and inconsistent.

Dr. Z has very clear expectations, not super strict as others implied, just straightforward. Tip #1: read prompts 2x to break them appart, you'll get it! He allowed grammar mistakes if I showed I attempted my best. He shows he cares for students and promotes interaction. Nothing is a dumb question, I felt he's approachable and optimistic.

If you want to finally tackle academic writing take Prof. Zimmerman. Writing well helps you to defend arguments in and out of college. I took the 8wks. and it was intensive, yes. I enjoyed this English class + than any other in years! Reading each other's writing process gave me a peace of mind about my weaknesses. I'd take him for other classes.

you can try your best on writing a paper , he doesn't care he would give you a 74. yes theres somedays but dont count on it that he is nice to give extra credit or take it easy on you. within the week get ready to read like 6 stories in a week , he has no simpathy. he ask me how did i even get to college level english.

Professor Zimmerman was quick to respond to my questions. He graded assignments in a timely manner and gave good feedback explaining the grades I recieved. He did come across as a really hard professor at first, but once we got into the class he was AMAZING! He does make you work for your grade; however, he is fair. Take him, you won't regret it!

Definitely read the stories as taking the quizzes will be directly from the stories that he will assign, and they will help your grade. He comes off as a tough teacher, and that will not change throughout the semester. However, he is a great professor and knows what he doing. I fully recommend that you take your class with Dr.Z. 8W Fall Mini. Very helpful Professor. Tough Grader(Typical of a Dr.) There are a lot of assignments but as long as you stay on top of them they are doable. Essays are intended to challenge your writing abilities. Responds to email promptly and gives good feedback. Overall Experience A+.

Writing has never been my best subject but I really enjoyed taking this class. Took the online, 8-week course. There were discussion boards every 3 days, 4 major papers, and a research project. He is a tough grader but a good professor. He is very clear on his assignments. Never had an issue with this class just wished I tried more. Take him again.

NOPE. Treats freshman composition like graduate literature. Will not give a dime about the effort you put in and give most of the class awful grades. Regret taking this course. was confident of getting an A or B, now im probably failing and have to pay and retake

Beginning of semester there is a quiz over readings everyday but they are SO easy. Gives tons of extra credit. Easy papers to write. Definitely recommend taking!

Dr. Z definitely doesn't make intro English classes easy. He's a harsh grader (90-95 as a completion grade, class average for most essays was a C-B, etc.). I made an A on most assignments and all but one of the major grades and still ended the course with an 90. There's a lot of work but it's not challenging and he doesn't require a textbook.

Dr. Zimmermann is intimidating when first beginning the course but do not let his expectations scare you. He cares about students and their success and he is willing to work at a nice pace that the class prefers as long as you show that you are doing your work and trying. He has a dry sense humor and will pick on you but all in good fun. Easy A.

Dr.Z is HILARIOUS!!!! There are a lot of quizzes in the beginning over readings (they're easy), 2 group projects, and 3 essays (somewhat of a hard grader). He gives extra credit and really wants you to succeed. He seems scary at first, but he's a really funny guy who is always available if you need help. Just do your work and you'll pass.

I took him for an online mini mester. Any mini mester will be alot of work due to it only being 3 weeks. Everything is done in connect. Homework you can check your answers as you go. The other assignments are in learnsmart which does not let you finish until you get the answers correct. Expectations are made very clear as well as due dates.

I took ENG three times before him. Finally, I got an A+ with him but because I finally enjoyed learning with him about writing for college!!! I understand the whole thing now: wha is a thesis, annotated bib, works cited page... all seemed harder than biochemistry before him I would do the same class to keep on learning, he is caring.

He was very helpful and thorough in answering questions. I took his online course just as he thorough, you should be too. Read the fine print and follow his instructions. He also will meet you outside of class. He recommends going to the "Write place" for editing and writing help. If you show him proof of tutoring he'll give extra credit. He rocks!

Dr. Z is amazing. I took him back in 2016, and it was the best English course that I have ever experienced. He will try to intimidate his students, but don't be fooled He will work with you inside and outside of class to ensure that you will succeed. You will learn so much along the way about both fun and professional writing. Dr. Z rocks! :D

He has a very dry sense of Humor. He says he is very hard on grading and he doesn't actually care, but don't be fooled... he actually cares about your success but still is hard grader.

3 week mini term. Very extensive course. I would recommend for those who are semi strong writers as he can be a tough grader. The information he gives is very educational. No extra credit. He is very responsive if you have questions. 4 paper worth 70% 2-3 pages each. With daily discussion board assignments. Would take again.

This Prof was difficult. The class and assignments weren't, but he made the class hard. His wording of projects were confusing and unclear. I caught him on multiple grammatical mistakes, which is terrible coming from and ENGLISH prof. Pay CLOSE attention to the wording of the assignments. Don't be discouraged by your first essay grade either.

Tough teacher and grader, but does care about students and willing to work with you.

Even though he was a tough grader, he is one of my favorite professors. Just try your best on the 3 essays! I suck at writing and got 70's on all three of them, but his quizzes and the 2 group projects saved me.

He's uber cool. Do the quizzes, come to class, have your essays pre-graded by him before the due date, do the corrections, show effort A.

Took 1301 & 1302 online. He is a tough grader, but if you participate & ask questions, you'll do well. I met with him & asked for feedback multiple times. He will help you, this matters! English can be written many ways and be correct. With any ENGL professor they will be tough graders. Dr. Z cares and will spend time with you IF you ask.

Going to read A LOT get ready, toughest teacher in my college attendance. RUN FAR AWAY! dropped my GPA first C in any class. Very tough grader, emails, and meetings did not help.

I read so many great things about this professor on rate my professor so i was excited to take him. For 2 semesters i have had a 4.0 gpa. All my major papers i received C- with no feed back even when i emailed him, his responce was "Look at rubric". My final grade was a C. It dropped my GPA extremely down and i regret ever taking his class.

2311. Best Prof ever. I had a C in 1301; but so far I got 3/4 papers on 90 with him. He gives A LOT of feedback for DBoards (2-3 weekly). Also, detailed rubric for grading projects. Super helpful; replies fast. 2-3 Chaps per project, you can skim them. Accepts late DB.'s 2 days later. Get the book online, no access code. It's not a hard A.

GREAT professor. His online class doesn't require a textbook - he provides links to all your reading. Expectations are clear. Every assignment builds toward a major essay (there are 4). Gives great feedback; if you read his notes in the gradebook and follow his suggestions, it's a pretty easy class. Provides a grading rubric for every essay.

Zimmermann is one of the best professors I've ever had. He is intimidating at first but he truly cares about his students. He's picky grader so don't be discouraged by your first essay grade. Always always always have him go over your essays before you turn them in it is a huge grade booster and all my friends who have done it got an A in the class

I've taken both a face-to-face and an online class with him. I think he prefers his face-to-face students more lol. He's witty, enjoys sci-fi fiction (you'll be reading a lot of those) and an overall caring professor. He's a tough grader in a sense that he prefers essays that are concise, easy to follow, and directed. There's no need for fanciness.

Dr. Z was by far at the top of the list of one of my favorite professors. He is sarcastic and funny. He cares about his students no matter how many snarky comments he might make. I hated english and all it had to offer before his class, but he pushed me to be a better student. I absolutely loved his class.

Dr. Z was fantastic. I LOVED his class. He really likes sci-fi stuff so be prepared to read a lot. He is snarky and witty and can seem rude, but he's just having fun. He teaches not only how to write and be analytical, but how to take those skills into the professional world. He pushes you to go further than just the assignment. Best professor ever

English is my favorite subject and he made me hate it. He never gave good feedback and gave me Cs on my papers when I know my papers were not worth Cs. I have 38 hours at Lone Star and have never made below an A. Do not take his online 3-week mini mester.

Dr. Z is the best! Took first summer session, lots of sci-fi readings followed by discussions in class. STAY ON TOP OF YOUR READINGS. 4 essays and one group presentation for the final. If you PARTICIPATE, he will work with your class. Tough grader, but he teaches you how to be a good and professional writer.

Mr. Zimmerman was a great teacher don't get me wrong, but he has no not a shred of sympathy for college students and whatever you get it what you get. He's funny and all but by the end of the semester he has the temper of kid. I once walked up to him and said good morning and he said HUH GOT SOMETHING TO SAY in that really condescending voice.

I took Dr. Z Fall of 2018. He pushed me to apply to a top college, and with his recommendation & encouragement I transferred to a Top 50. He cares about his students, he confronted me for being late to class & pushed me to write better. Sci-fi readings, engaging lectures, he's very sassy, ruthless grader on papers. Enjoyed his class and feedback on essays. Jokes around a lot so if you don't like that he is not for you. Final grade was based on 4 essays and quizzes that we had each class. All the quizzes together equalled about one essay so it isnt a big deal if u missed a few. Had to read a lot of sci-fi/speculative fiction though which was a downside for me.

I took his mini semester class in May it was a complete disaster! I have never gotten below an A in any college class and ended his class wi try a C. Brought my GPA by a lot. He is a VERY tough grader! Do yourself a favor and pick any other teacher!

I took this class last semester before everything went online, but loved being in that class. Dr. Z is a funny-bit weird guy but a great professor. Gives a lot of feedback on your work and writing, spends most of the time in class explaining and helping students. What i like the most is how Dr. z engages his students in class discussions

I took this as a 5-week summer course, and was sorely disappointed. The professor didn't teach us anything. He also didn't give feedback on rough drafts, and didn't even give feedback on previous reports until the DAY that our next 6 page project was due. How do you revise a 6 page paper in one evening? Maybe he's better in person...

Good teacher especially now, he has clearly put everything on d2l. you have to write 4 essays all about the same stories so you become familiar with the material. he responds quickly to the mail.

He NEVER gives 100% grades. He literally will give you a 9.5/10 with excellent work. I am a 4.0 student and he is the toughest grader Ive ever had. Even my nursing classes were this bad! That says a lot. He doesnt do lectures, just makes your write a TON of essays.

I tend to get good grades but this professor makes you regret wanting to be in college. I think that writing essays should be interesting and fun. Even if that paper is a professional paper. You dont learn anything, all you do learn is how to stress. Never gives a 100 on discussion! And its a lot of discussion!!!!!

Im very torn about Prof. Zimmermann. He gives great feedback on each assignment but he never ever gives out an 100. Even if you followed the instructions to the T, he will usually only give a 85 or 90. Its very frustrating but I have learned lots on how to write and cite essays. If you want and A take someone else.

Never gives 100% on discussions and we usually have discussions every week. All the essays are about science fiction short stories but other than that the class is pretty easy.

As everyone else says, this is a very hard class for no reason. There are 1-2 discussions a week which can take up to an hour to complete. You will never get a 100. Essays appear easy but he grades very harshly. He gives copy and pasted responses/feedback, that give 0 help. You won't learn your mistakes or errors.

This class was very easy, only a few assignments a week, and was a generous grader on the major papers. But there's no videos, and all communication is through email.

He is a great professor. Gives clear feedback and explains more if needed. Also gives extentions if needed for emergency situations. Highly recommend!

Professor Zimmermann is very subjective with grading. If you follow the rubric, he will still find things to tear apart your paper. To be blunt, he is not a kind teacher, and if you ask him a question he answers with a snarky reply that does not even remotely answer your question. If you do everything correctly, he still will not give you 100%

Dr. Zimmermann is a very funny and helpful professor to have. He is a hard grader but his class will definitely help you with your writing skills. You will have to go to him for help with papers if you want a good grade but besides that all his assignments are relatively easy and interesting.

Took this professor for 2 semesters! He is awesome. Love the way he interacts with everyone, and as far as grading he is very specific on what he expects. However gives plenty of space for extra credit.

Dr. Z is the best professor I have ever had. He smart and educated. Tough grader, very accesible to explain things and teach. If you want to improve your writing skills academically and professionally take him. Course load is not much. Always had a good laugh in his lectures, he is funny. His office hours and writing place make the class easier.

He made class engaging and inspirational. He will force you to think outside the box and test yourself.

Class was challenging but that's not my issue. He's snarky and at times just disrespectful. Rudely accused me of cheating w/o evidence then suddenly dropped the conversation because he knew he was going off a hunch and didn't actually see anything. Takes pride in being a touch grader as he smugly mentions on the first day. Depressing environment.

What a waste. This class is not suitable for people with learning disabilities. Everything learned is out of the textbook. No other methods for students with different learning styles. Unrealistic expectations for students with a life outside of school. Multiple lengthy assignments due daily. He likes to send daily emails. Ready to sell your soul?

He is a tough grader but mostly fair. The course moves quickly and very short amount of time for somewhat detailed research. Be prepared to use research databases. I would only take this professor again if it were a longer semester.

I emailed him a lot and he never gave me a straight answer. He's a super tough grader. He will take off points even if you follow the instructions correctly. There is only a textbook for learning. Hard to balance with other classes. Lots of work (discussions, reports). I had a lot of stress from this class, so I do not recommend him.

Professor Z has a specific teaching style, but engaging if you put in the effort. The class load is manageable, and the writing assignments are challenging but rewarding. Unstuck AI was a lifesaver for essay prep.

Professor Zimmerman is best described as that uncle who is funny but thinks he is absolutely hilarious. He offers good insight, wisdom, and provides all the necessary reading material. However you will never get 100% on an assignment because as he says, "No work is perfect". That being said he makes his expectations clear and concise.

Dr. Zimmerman is hilarious in class as he tries to move away from the expected academic performance into more flexible and creative thinking, and I loved his class a lot. I felt free to ask questions I wanted to ask without judgment, and I felt like I was given every opportunity to succeed based on his easy availability and extra credit

He says he doesn't make you do busy work but will make you have 3 unnecessary discussion and 1 project due every week. No material provided from him and expect you to find and read textbook yourself. Will never give you hundred on anything.

My favorite professor so far, but if you're looking for an easy A, do not take his course, his max grade is a 95 on everything. He's hilarious and also has a lot of grandpa stories which I actually found interesting. Lots of reading, and if you're not willing to put the work in at home, or just don't have time, I would not take this course.

Amazing prof super interactive. Attendance is mandatory as he gives assignments in class and quizzes on the readings, which were quick, interesting 30 min weekly reads. He only gives 95s BUT as long as you truly do the work you will achieve that 95. 4 essays, 1 is a group essay, 1 is a reflection. Really recommend, fun class.

Dr. Zimmermann is a great professor as long as you are willing to put in the time and effort into the essays and readings. The essays are only worth 40%, and everything else is participation or short quizzes to prove you at least skimmed the story. Definitely get help on the first essay, and then the rest will be fine. Interesting class!
