He goes too fast. Does not go over problems on homework you don't understand so you have no idea if you are doing them right until he grades the test. And he sends you elsewhere for help instead of trying to help you himself.
This teacher is EXCELLENT!! He is very helpful and goes over EVERY question that is asked until you understand!! He picks problems in ea. section and shows exactly how it's done. He asks EVERY time if there are any questions! He makes sure you are set to succeed! He's a great teacher!!
Hard to understand and goes way to fast. Does not explain the problems (formulas and such) before starting them. Nice guy but not the best teacher if you have trouble understanding math.
Goes very fast, if you are not good at math DO NOT take him. He will help you if you go see him and he does try his best.
This was my first class in college. I was nervous that i would not do good. He was a great teacher, if he sees you trying he works with you. He is great!! He is a lil fast but ask questions. I wish I could have him for all my math classes.
He moves extremely fast and gets annoyed if people ask too many questions BUT will offer to help you if you see him during office hours. No review for tests. Your review is the homework that you do for each chapter. If you struggle with math, DO NOT take this instructor.
I've had him for two classes. He does teach fast, but if you do the homework you should be ok. Just don't wait until the last day to do all of your work.
Do not take him if you need your problems and their steps explained. He does help IF you see him within office hours, but class time does go to fast for any excessive questions.
If you show you are trying, attending class he will do his best to help you. He tries to help you understand. Very pleaseant to be around, great sense of humor! :0)
total jerk...arrogant and he acts like he enjoys it when his students don't succeed.

ummm.. had to drop his class because i couldnt understand what the heck he was saying.. accent just totally threw me
very good and very helpful to students; gives them his time
teaches lessons so fast that people are like WTF?
Wow goes too fast, he is sort of funny and does look like Waybe Brady though. But he doesnt go over things thoroughly!
You may have or have not read what I put about David Jessee about FSU... However, Prof. Pierre is the BEST mathematics teacher I've ever had! He is clear, although he can go fast, so my class slowed him down a bit and actually finished his course 2 weeks before the end! HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED!!! A+++
Good Teacher explains everything and does lots of exaples his accent isn't bad at all.
He doesn't have a strong accent but you can still understand but when he is going too fast you just ask him to slow down and he will. He will any way possible to help you when you need it

Very good teacher, helps a lot!!
He was a great professor. Although he has an accent it was not to bad, it just made you pay attention a little more. He likes to make jokes, and makes sure everybody understands everything before moving on. He was very helpful and willing to take one on one time to explain things. He made Calculus seem not so hard. He wants everyone to pass.
Ok in the beginning, lazy in the middle, ggod at the end. He gives semi easy tests, but is always there to help you. Has a hard time clarifying each mathmatical way. So, if you need clear teachiung get him, is you dont need clear directions ans know waht your doing, this class is a piece of cake
I like taking his class. his tests were pretty easy if you did the study guide he assigns a week before the test. And if you ever need any help, he'll stay in class with you to help you answer any questions you've got.
Great teacher!!! He goes over examples in class so you can do your homework without any problem. He always makes sure that everybody understands everything. On test he gives examples from study giude, homework or class-no surprises!
hes got an accent but hes a good teacher to have
He probably isn't a very good teacher for someone who isn't well-versed in math already. He doesnt explain things well, and tends to make fun of people. All-in-all though the class wasn't very hard.
He does have an accent so sometimes it's hard to understand him, but he does examples that are similar to your homework so you'll be able to understand it. If you need extra help he will stay after class. Tests are pretty simple and straight forward, he gives you extra assignments for extra points. I would deffinietly take this teacher again.
He goes through the examples way to fast. And he is a hard grader. Wrong brackets -2, if you solved the problem right but put in the wrong sign, he gives no partial credit. Everyone complained how he doesn't explain the problems well. You are left teaching yourself or going to the Academic Center.
Gives a lot of homework problems but isn't a stickler on attendance. Tests aren't bad. He is a little difficult to understadn because of his accent but you get used to it. His goal is to change the dropout rate of MAT1033 and he lets you know it constantly
Pierre was the first math teacher to keep me awake and interested in class, and I usually HATE math. Homework is mandatory, but it helps you prepare for the tests (not too hard), and if you do all of the homework and make D's and even F's on the tests, you can still pass the class. Best math teacher I've ever had.
Pretty good teacher, he tries to keep you interested in a topic that is not really that exciting, He is very willing to help and do what ever he can to get you to pass
This prof. was difficult. His reviews and exams have hardley anything that was gone over in the class. Im only saying this to warn, he's a pretty cool teacher all around. If you know your math take him, b/c hes a fair grader, but i struggled.
I had him in 1033 and MAC1105.All around great teacher. Very helpful when u need help. Gives a lot of homework and does a lot of problems in class to help you. Hard grader though. He wants you to pass and is willing to help if u are willing to try.
Not very caring about the class, didn't even check homework. Did answer our questions when we ask.
Pierre is a nice guy but a horrible Teacher. Pierre gives little to no thought to the theory and only cares to work examples of which have little to no explanation. He gets annoyed with the class for not answering his questions and tells you to read to book if you have a question. In his class you will learn via the textbook and homework, not lecture
Arrogant teacher. Rude and makes fun of students that don't understand. Extremely disorganized(never has exams on dates he states they will be, gives short notice of exam date changes, often does problems wrong). He is very strict on attendance, and don't even think about taking if you work because he expects you to miss work making up exams.
"there is no such thing as a stupid question, every question is beautiful and lovely"
AMAZING teacher!i was failing college algebra in high school, i took it again with him and i got an 89! he is not rude, and does check homework, and is extremely organized. whoever said he isnt is on drugs. hes nice and funny and really wants everyone to pass and gives plenty of opportunites to do so. definately take him if you want to pass math!
I had pierre for MAC 1105, MAC1114 and MAC 2311! He's the best math professor on campus. He's funny and pushes the class to study. All around great teacher!! HIGHLY RECOMEND!!!
Professor Pierre is an amazing teacher. He makes algebra fun-"All Day..Everyday..Today..Tomorrow" He genuinely cares about the well being of his students and wants EVERYONE to succeed. Tests-just follow his study guides and take notes-you are sure to pass!
Pierre is a very awesome professor. He is willing to help you when you need it and makes you actually work hard for what you want. If you want an A in the class, he will help you get that. You just need to work for it. If you do the homework, the study guides, pay attention and actually go to class you will do fine.
Had him for Applied Calculus and I have to say I messed up badly. He was an easy teacher who really cares and wants to help out his students. I screwed it up by not doing everything untill the end. Coming from a person who did badly, he really is recommended to anybody who wants to succeed in his class.
very helpful and kinda funny. if you want to pass its possiable even with out really doing well on the tests. great guy know what he is doing very well.
Had him over the summers for calc 1. It was one of the hardest classes I have ever taken, but at the same time I learned so much from him. He was entertaining and always made sure everyone understood the material. He loves what he does and has no problem talking about math, all day every day. In my opinion he was inspiring.
I really liked that we covered the ENTIRE trig textbook (literally front to back) because it's the basis of future math/physics courses. He's knowledgeable. Sometimes, it seemed that he assumed that we knew what he was talking about without explaining it. Be prepared to take notes quickly.
If you want to still feel like you are in high school, take this teacher. You will basically feel like you are in a juvenile detention center. Mocks all questions (even if he asks if any one has questions). A sad, silent, community college class. If must take him, teach yourself from the book. All this and difficult exams, no curve. Enjoy.
It was an okay class. Beware.. he has an accent. If you're so-so at math, it's pretty good. Tests are relatively easy. Not much is expected. The reviews pretty much show everything on the tests. Final is easy. Wasn't crazy about him, but can't complain either
It would be an easy class if there was some congruency between the required work and test dates. It would also help if he read the syllabus.
He makes things easier than the book makes them. If you study all formulas and do your homework, you can't fail. Just don't feel overwhelmed. It gets a lot easier towards the end.
Pierre is very nice and funny but he is a little more for the Math-major types. The Final is extremely difficult and should not be taken lightly. I got A's on all of the tests and did all of my homework & study guides yet barely passed the Final. Definitely study, study, STUDY!
I hate math more than anything and he made it so much fun. He loves what he does and he makes sure everyone is following along before we moved onto something else. There is a lot of homework and tests were only about 10 questions which made them harder. The final was sooo hard but do-able. If I had to take another math class it would be with him.
just amazing!
AWESOME!!!! he goes step by step to make sure everyone undersstands!!!!!!!
he is so awesome..he explains step by step..gives reviews before tests..
I Thought that Mr. Pierre was a good teacher, a little hard to understand at times, but he really wants his students to succeed.
I wasn't a fan of his class beause he didn't cover the material well. He moves quickly, and he doesn't use notes to teach so he messes up from time to time. I dropped the class so i didn't have a chance to take the final, but his other test weren't too bad just make sure you study and do all the homework.
Great class! He's one of the best professors that I've had. He explains everything and works problems step by step. Covers everything in class that is expected to be known for the test. He does assign homework.
hes a great teacher!
He goes too fast on the board when doing example problems and doesn't explain why or how the formulas he gives work. He expects the homework to do the teaching. He knows what he is teaching though, and if you ask for help he is willing to give it.
He's a good professor overall. Really wants you to understand the material and wants you to know everything. He assigns a lot of homework, but he lets you choose between work in the book or my math lab. He gives study guides on the tests and it's exactly what's on the test.
If you are a fan of 200+ problems per chapter, fast and poorly given lectures, difficult tests(even when you do all the hw and study guide),and a rude professor that laughs at your questions, then take it with Pierre. He is inconsiderate, even when half the class doesn't show up for an exam, bc of his poor pedagogy,he feels he's doing great job.
Bad prof, not very helpful
If you read all the other comments, he's an easy/good math teacher for the easier math classes like college algebra and the math labs. But personally I would not recommend him, he goes way too fast, its hard to understand him at times, and he isn't consistent with what he says.Bottom line, would not recommend.
His notes are not clear, you have to fill in the blanks yourself. Even if it was summer he still rushed things. Can be rude when questions are asked and takes no time to review homework. Really stern on showing your work, just about all steps must be done on paper and none in your head otherwise he will take points off on a test.
He mostly just does even-numbered problems on the board instead of notes. You also better know your trig because he won't spend a whole lot of time reviewing it but he likes to ask trig questions. Having said all that he is very accommodating if you have a scheduling conflict. He asks hard questions but you learn more that way.
As of right now I enjoy being in his class. I am the worst person at math and he makes it very easy for me to understand how to do the problems. He chooses certain problems and shows you how to do them on the board and will as for questions. I would recommend him college algebra
Hardest math course I've ever taken. Rushes material, doesn't review homework and expect 40-50questions per SECTION. 3/4sections per chapter and 3 chapters per test. All homework is due on date of test, not earlier. He doesn't go over the homework and expects everything to be done correctly. On top of that, he requires hard study guides to be done.
Has an accent, hard to understand sometimes. Doesn't review much algebra that you will have forgotten and really need for calc 1. H/w and attendance mandatory. overall he was no easier to understand than just reading the book yourself but if you are looking for an A, B, or C and not learning anything, take him.
This teacher understands trig very well, but can not explain it. He keeps that information, of why and how things relate a secret, locked up in his head. Not reccomended if you want to understand!!! I learned nothing.
Does have an accent but it didn't bother me. If you ask him to slow down he will. Not to much homework because he lets you do every other odd. Overall really easy and good class.
Pretty good teacher. People complain he doesn't cover material but actually goes through everything step by step. Lots of homework but worth it when the test comes around. Offers study guides for every test and they are pratically the same for the test. Passed with flying colors:)
Difficult professor, but helpful and actually covers material. My Math Lab is optional at least for Precalc. He has an accent but he is not difficult to understand. Overall, he is a friendly, helpful, knowledgable professor, just a little more difficult than most.
Very good teacher for MAC 1105, for summer he gave us multiple choice test which was very easy and he wanted to see all the work aver all the best math teacher i had
Great professor gave extra credit 3 times goes a little fast on the notes and has an accent
Not very helpful, when asked for help to understand a homework problem, he refuses. When class ends 30 min early and we ask for him to explain something, he tells us to come back during office hours. I paid to be taught by a teacher, not self taught. Walked out on us during class because we didn't know how to do a problem that he did not teach.
Not helpful. Will not help with homework or fully explain anything. Asks you to see him during office hours for any questions but does not like it when you actually do come. Goes WAY TOO FAST when teaching and does not explain the theory, will only point to them. Simply writes them down and expects you to figure it out during exercises.
IF you are thinking of dropping DROP NOW, take janet samuels. He is very difficult, his accent makes it hard to understand him and he expects you to do a ton of homework with little or no help from him. DO NOT ASK HIM FOR HELP ON HW IN CLASS, he will not help and may embarrass you. If he says to do something this way, do it or u get no credit.
Love this guy. First day of class I knew I was gonna love him. He's cool with you leaving 5 mins into the lecture if you know the material, lets you play on phone all day, says that listening to music in class is OK. Also a very smart guy, will explain difficult sections multiple times, while somehow keeping it VERY humorous. I definitely recommend
Hes funny, however NOT helpful. He will not assist with any HW problems or study guide questions. Never responds to emails, or phone calls. He is very condescending when you ask questions. He is basically there to teach material and leave? doesn?t put any extra effort? class started with 30 students now down to about 12. That speaks for itself
Best professor I have ever had, i'm completely math stupid and was dreading this class. I came out of it with a 95 on the final and a 96 in the class. As long as you do your work and listen to what the man tells you, you will love him. Hes pretty funny and easy going. Lots of hw but if you do it you WILL know the material and pass the final.
This class is hard. I took it during the summer and it ruined my 4.0 GPA. He is not clear or consistent with anything. When you ask him a question he does not answer it.. like a politician. If you want to take this class and do well find another professor. He CANT teach PreCal!
Good. I took Summer B (6 week) Calculus with him and it was an intense amount of work. Understandably, this course was not easy. However, I came out of it very strong and aced the Final. He is intimidating in the class room at times, but very helpful and sincere in his office hours. Slight accent, but not hard to understand. Adds humor to lecture.
Pros: Straightforward lecture style. Tells you what you need to know for the test. Tests are fairly easy if you do all the homework and attend class and take notes. Pretty nice guy if you talk to him in his office. Cons: During summer B, there was a tremendous amount of homework. Trig was my full time job for 6 weeks.
Overall, he's pretty easy... the only difficult thing about his class is the amount of homework. Every test, every other odd from each section the test is on will be due right before you start your test (or you can do a bunch of problems on mymathlab). oh, and he has a french accent, which is actually pretty cool....
neck to neck with santos as being the WORST teacher at the school.
Pierre is probably the best professor I have ever had His class was intense. But it was totally worth it I am now in Differential eqns and the things I learned in his class have stuck with me.I took him for Trig and Calc I He prepared me for Calc II.If you do his test reviews and do the homework you WILL pass.
Pierre is an awesome teacher. He is wonderful at explaining the material. If you do not understand something he will not continue unless you understand it. I highly recommend this professor. He is wonderful! Great personality as well!
He is a good Teacher.I took all my Mat classes with him up to Calc. He will help you after class. His study guide will help you get an A on your the test. You can't fail his class.
He is a great teacher, and an easy A. He is very helpful. He always help his students after class.
Best teacher I've had in this college! Get this, you actually take notes before diving into problems. Craziness, right? Just take your notes in class, which are to the point-no fluff, do your homework, reviews, and you're guaranteed an A. Plus, you learn. I've had him for 3 classes already, great teacher.
First off, I'm a 4.0 student and took 3 higher math classes with him 2 of which were doubled up same semester. You DO LEARN in his class and will get an A if you do ALL the work. He's not the friendliest when you ask questions and WILL make you feel bad for asking. Exam questions are hard versions of HW questions. Average teacher at best. Not easy.
I loved having Pierre as a teacher! He was very clear and easy to follow. I got over 100% because of all the extra credit he gives! I regret not taking him for Pre-calc this semester.
Great teacher - straight forward and honest about what he expects. I can't wait to take him again!
Mr. Pierre's Class. 1.) Go to class. 2.) Take notes on the current chapter. 3.) Do problems from the book 4.) Repeat. If you do that and the avalanche of homework problems he gives you, you will get an A, all day, everyday. Won't really help though if you have problems on the homework. Smacks his hand against the podium to keep you alert.
Took Pre-calc with him and is a great teacher. He explains everything and what he expects. Does not ridicule you if you ask questions, he actually encourages you to ask. Goes without saying attending class is mandatory or else you will fall behind. Great teacher overall, looking forward to Calc 1 with him
Took during the summer and the guy teaches crystal clear. Gives you extra credit and makes you work for the grades you get. He responds very quickly to e- mails and has a great attitude, works with you on turning in assignments. It would be very difficult to pick a better College Algebra Professor.
I haven't had math in 9yrs before this class. Pierre is definitely a great teacher. Makes certain that you understand the concepts & willing to work with you. Gave extra credit & study guides (which were awesome!). I wish he was teaching Calc2 as well.
Good teacher, study guide, homework, easy A
Easy teacher. If you don't want to be in class just sign the attendance sheet in the beginning & leave or send him an email. He doesn't care. Explains math very well in my opinion & I'm the worst at math. pretty funny. 4 tests the entire semester and the reviews are just like the tests. hw is every 3rd problem so it may seem like a lot but it's not
GREAT TEACHER, HIS REVIEWS ARE ALMOST THE SAME AS THE TEST. GIVES EXTRA CREDIT.nd slams his book to wake you up hHahah. awesome proffesor
Professor Pierre explains his subject well and obviously knows what he is talking about. This is not an easy class and he does not just give out good grades, you have to work for it. He wants to make sure you understand the material and concepts. Overall, he is a really good professor.
Prof. Pierre is fantastic. I've never been more pleased with a math class! He genuinely loves what he does. Every day he says "Let's Play" while referring to working on problems. And on the last day before the exam he gave us like this pep talk and I just really enjoyed class. I hate math but his class was great!
I took Professor Pierre's online course during the 6-week summer semester. All studying, homework, and quizzes were done through 'Connect'. Professor Pierre allowed us to work ahead, gave lots of extra-credit options, and even re-opened old homework and quizzes for those that needed improvement on them. Very easy; however, I enjoy math.
Took Summer Trig. The class is accelerated. To quote the teacher "If you have a life outside of this class, there is a problem." He is a fair teacher, gives difficult exams but grades rather generously. If he says a problem will be on a future test, put a star next to it. Overall I would recommend again. He is a great professor.
look for anyone who has never taken his class it looks like this....lots of hw and the study guides are tough but are a life saver....he is very straight forward and tells u what he want...this class is literally what u put in...i got an A so anyone can just make sure to do the study guides and pay attention u will Learn well...good luck
Awesome Teacher....ton of work...demanding....study guides key to an A...funny and loves job...he tough but he is hands down the best professor i have ever had...
Prof. Pierre was fantastic. I took the PreCalc Summer class. There was a great deal of homework. The HW was easy because he does a great job at explaining the concepts. very helpful and his humor made it fun everyday. You will earn the grade you work for here. so "Lets Play"
Gives a ton of work. Never responds to emails. Says he is testing on certain chapters and then you see questions from chapters you haven't covered yet on the exam. Maybe he is great in person but I would never recommend his online class. I am so disappointed and sad that I am spending good money to take a course that is setting me up for failure.
excellent Professor. He loves to teach. Help you a lot!!! review sheet available and tests are based on review sheet. I really recommend Professor Pierre!
Great teacher relly funny and man is he hotter than a jalapeno pepper
:) HELLO A+
Pierre is the best Math teacher i have had, math is second nature to him. He's always prepared, alway professional and does lots of examples in class. However you have to study and do the homework if math was easy everyone would get an A ,but its possible if you do your homework and do the study guide. gives extra credit. "Lets play good people"
Pros: Teaches very well. Stops completely and asks for any questions. Makes sure you understand. Cons: Has a little accent sometimes its hard to understand. Overall an amazing math teacher! I highly recommend him. He does give some work and expects a lot but if you do the work you should be fine.
Mr. Pierre is by far the BEST math teacher I have ever had. He truly cares about his students, and clearly spells out exactly what he expects of his students. This class definitely requires some hard work and dedication, but it is worth it in the end. I would recommend Mr. Pierre to everyone!
Awesome teacher! I received my first A in a math class since middle school. He tells you what you need to do and he means what he says. Definitely kept my attention all class which is hard to do. I would recommend him to any student.
He is great. He helps student a lot. If you want to get an easy A, take him.
He was very hard to understand. He doesn't explain most things well and only does a few problems on the board. While I understand no math class is easy, I believe he makes this class even harder than it is. He is funny and always willing to help after class, but I did not not like the way he teaches.
Excellent teacher! As long as you complete the study guides and know what you did on them... you can do the exams.
I took Pierre online, with 2 exams in person. The study guides he puts on Blackboard are like the tests so its pretty straightforward. However, if this is your first college course, be sure you know how to use a "scantron" sheet, because he doesn't explain it. He gave extra credit (a lot!) for having the review problems worked out completely.
Im not good at math at all and taking this class made it even harder for me. Prof. Pierre is nice but his teaching method was not for me. If you're good at math and can pick up easily, take him. If you need everything to be explained to you thoroughly, I suggest picking someone else.
Maybe I just suck at math but this class is extremely difficult online. You are teaching yourself just from the textbook and then do the homework. The quizzes are SUPER hard, I failed 3 of the 4 of them. But I still have a B from the passing the midterm and extra credit. Don't take this class if your bad at math and need help learning the work!
I've taken a few math classes at SCF with a few different professors and Professor Pierre is by far the best. His class is simple and straight forward do the study guides and homework and you will be able to pass his tests. do not count on multiple choice tests however, expect to show all your work. I took his 8 week pre-calc class and received a B
I am in trigonometry with Pierre. It is by far the hardest class I have ever taken and I am a whiz at math. I have to go to the Academic Resource Center every other day for help. I have spent 32 hours in there already, and we are halfway through the course. He does not teach what he assigns as homework, and he teaches way too fast. Take anyone else
I had Professor Pierre for Pre-Calculus and Trigonometry. I love his teaching style, but I do not recommend him to students who do not want to work. If you do the homework, go over the problems done in class, and do the study guides, it is nearly impossible to do poorly on his tests. My favorite part of class is starting off with "Let's play."
He was very helpful
Pierre is perfect for my learning style. He gives you all the notes you need per section in the beginning of class and goes over examples for the rest. Homework has some complicated problems but he does it on purpose to make you think. If you do the study guide and homework and understand you will pass. some test Qs r direct copies from study guide
His goal is to help you pass. Do the Homework and the exam preps and you will get an A on the test. now "Let's play."
Pierre is a good math professor for some. Personally i disliked his teaching style and mostly taught myself using the Unit Circle and other various methods. His tests are really easy, they are practically the same as the study guide. The last day when he gives his speech listen to him with open ears, you'll gain a lot of respect for him. Great Man.
He's a great teacher. The homework helped me practice for tests. It was an easy class.
He's a great professor for anyone going into a math related field. He solidly covers all the material for the class, welcomed questions, and even gave extra credit. He gives a great study guide for the tests as homework. I would highly recommend his class.
Best Math professor at SCF. He gives awesome study guides for every test. They prepare you perfectly for the test. He explains every concept clearly, and goes over plenty of practice problems.
Best Math teacher I've taken at Scf. He's really good at explaining his work and if you don't understand, he'll go over it again or see you after class to help. Awesome teacher!!!! Just study your notes and you'll pass his class.
Took his MAT1033 class not happy way to much homework that didn't have to do with the test. Then also a study guide that was 10 pages long. He goes through 3 chapters a day in class it's ridiculous way to fast! Don't recommend him if math isint your strong suite !
You can miss up to five days but as long as you sign in you'll be fine. Awesome teacher, he makes everything clear and answers any questions.
He was very thorough and clear on what the homework is. He also gives good feedback on Discussion Forums. He also answers your questions thoroughly whenever you need help or clarification about something. I respect him for his helpfulness and kindness. He is very lenient. He is a great professor. I would take another math class with him.
He is a tough grader but overall a great professor. Teaches very well and clearly. His tests are hard and sometimes puts some tricky questions.
When I took him for MAC1105, he was pretty easy and clear, but once you take Calculus with him he becomes very distant and unclear. He didn't have reviews because, "Reviewing for tests stops at Pre-calc." On the study guides and tests he puts question marks instead of actually giving you feedback on about what he didn't understand.
He is awesome in my opinion. He is a GREAT guy. He has a good heart and though he might say things such as 'You guys need to study; You're not studying," the over all experience of this professor is good. You will have lots of homework to do, so do it. For Trig, record his lectures on your phone, and go through problems he does. I love this guy.
BEST PROFESSOR IN THE SCF MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENT. Do the homework and do/practice the study guides and you will pass all the exams. His notes are math gold and will prepare you for all your future math classes. Currently in calc 3 at a university and will still refer back to some of his notes.
Heavy lectures which he emails to you once class is over. Moves really quickly in lecturing. Tests are a mixture of your HW and class notes examples. NEEDS MyMathLab code and book to pass class.
Very easy to talk to, responds to calls or emails fast. he's willing to meet up if needed to go over reviews. If you do mid term and final review as long as you get a B there will be extra credit. He's awesome :)
Overall a great guy with a good sense of humor. Makes sure to cover everything that will be on the exams and that everyone understands all concepts. He lays out clear guidelines for his class at the beginning and sticks with them. Would recommend to anyone.
I took an 8-week class with him, and though I was initially nervous about taking an accelerated math class, he made it a great experience. He always makes sure to cover everything you'll need to know and that everyone understands the concepts. Definitely would recommend, but be prepared to put much time and effort into his class.
Professor Pierre was my favorite professor this past fall semester, ironically enough math is my worst subject but he is an awesome teacher! As long as you REPEATEDLY PRACTICE the homework and study guides you WILL pass the exams. He is very concise and helpful, and truly does want the best for you in this course! Exams are usually 15-20 questions!
Professor Pierre is an excellent professor. There's a lot of homework and the tests can be quite hard (especially the 3rd test), however if you do exactly what he says in order to be successful, you will be. The lowest test grade replaced with the % grade of the final and there's extra credit for the final exam review. 10/10 would recommend.
Trying to follow Professor Pierre's lectures at their lightning pace is quite difficult. He is quite flexible on some things, but at the end of the day, he's not going to step in and save you. Definitely do not talk to him during tests. Really.
Participation matters. If he sees the class is working hard he will do things to help like reopen hw at the end. How you learn depends on if you like his class. Be gives notes, then practice problems, but does not explain everything well at times. He does not review study guides or prepare for tests with you. I don't recommend him accelerated.
Professor Pierre is a gentleman and a scholar. Gen pop. would refer to him as the GOAT. I took Pierre for Trig, Precalc, Calc 1, and Calc 2. I aced each class. I attribute much of my success to him. If you do everything he says, you will ace his courses. It saddens me to say that this semester was my last with this wonderful man. Bravo, sir, bravo.
He is very nice and a little funny. He is honest about his expectations for the class but he will also help a student out. If you don't understand something he will be more than happy to go over it again. Also, at the end of the semester he reopened all of the homework assignments!
amazing teacher
Best teacher I had for fall and spring semesters (Calc 1 and 2). If you do the homework and study guides, his tests mostly follow. Final was the hardest test I've taken. Be prepared to work.
Best professor I've had. He is very clear on what he expects, but as long as you do what he tells you to do, you will ace the tests just fine. Just do the homework as well as the study guides and you will do great. I've retained every bit of information that he has given me. I definitely recommend him.
Lots of homework, but if you are in his good books he is somewhat lenient
I've taken Pierre two semesters in a row, the class goes exactly as he says it will. If you take a full 16 week class he will save the last week for review on the final, he is a very smart guy and I love his dry humor. I would recommend taking this professor every math class you get.
I am terrible at math, and Pierre is the only professor I've had that teaches in a way I understand. He is very clear, and teaches until the last minute of class. The homework is not hard if you pay attention in class, and I've aced every test. He's likable, approachable, and loves questions. He's fast-paced, but I highly recommend him!!
DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND ALL THE ASSIGNMENTS. This class is a little tough but it is WORTH it. The professor is caring and tries to be funny. The extra assignments are to help your grade. Don't miss class. He does drop your lowest test grade at the end of the semester.
Prof. Pierre is a very kind and understanding guy, if you let him know what's going on. I had some hardships in my semester of 1033, I sat down with him and explained my situation - he gave me some extra time on my work and gave me advice on how to better my grade. He has a thick accent, so if you don't do well with that, do NOT take his class.
Currently taking his class in Trigonometry and have to say that I love his character and attitude. However, my disdain comes from his choice of using WebAssign, the absolute worst online education platform that the internet has to offer. I don't know if its the board that picks this or not, but please only use connect or MML, because WA is bad.
I took Prof. Pierre last semester and I wish I had taken him again this semester. If you can't get him, and you loved the way he taught, take Runde, the teaching style is the same. But Pierre is the best, he's approachable, helpful, and welcomes questions. Funny and makes math fun to learn. Can't say enough about him honestly, take his class!!
It was an easy A
Took Pierre for accelerated trig (12 weeks). There's a lot of homework, but its relevant to what is going to be on exams. The exams are 60/40, study guide and homework. Pierre can go quickly though problems and notes so ask questions, he encourages it. He replaces lowest exam grade. Keep up with the HW + study guides and exams will be comfortable.
Horrible professor, no more words needed
I find it very hard to understand how a professor says he doesnt like to give notes on how to do things.
Professor Pierre is wonderful. He cares about his students and gives plenty of thorough examples in class. However, do not expect this class to be an easy A. You are going to need to work hard for it.
Great professor, makes jokes and learning a fun wish I would've taken this course more seriously, but I can definitely recommend him if you enjoy Math. Everything is explained well, and as long as you show up in class, and do homework you will get good grades, which I realized too late but because of that I still passed the class.
Prof. Pierre is my personal favorite teacher. His grading criteria is very straight forward, but attendance will help you a lot! Show up and do the homework/ study guides and you will be fine during the course. He will make you work for the grade, but you will learn a lot from him.
Tough class if you are not a math wiz. Would definitely recommend this professor because he gives you every possible chance to succeed and bring up your grade if you are not doing well.
Dont recommend you take trig accelerated unless you plan on studying daily for 8 weeks. Hes extremely knowledgeable and has a passion for math. His lectures feel like youre just watching him run through examples so you spend more time focusing on copying rather than understanding. Final was easier than his tests. Put in the time and youll pass
I've always been good at math. Ive had him before and got an A. Hardest class ever. rushed alot, and there were a lot of science too, he barely explained problems. He expects just because u got math before, u should understand this class. did the study guide, understood it, but he pcked hardest pblms that was mentioned in class like once
Dr. Pierre wants people to get the concept of math. As someone who doesn't get some concepts on the first time, he was ready to make sure I got it. I took his class over the summer and am very satisfied with his method.
I took this MAC 1105 class over the summer in 6 weeks and it is the hardest thing, but honestly if you work hard you will pass. He gives you the opportunity to do good on tests with the study guide but he doesn't make it easy on you. You are completely teaching yourself in the online class. I'm not at all a math person and I passed.
I took trigonometry with this professor over the summer and it was very hard. The exams are hard so I would recommend not taking this professor in the summer or during any term.
Tests are worth 75% of your grade and are only 15 questions, so if you miss two questions you're likely to get a B in the class. Doesn't teach all material necessary to do the homework so you have to learn by doing it yourself. Exams totally different from his study guides. Laughs about failing students. I'd give a 0 if I could.
Very hard class for those who arent mathematically inclined. If you dont get a 60% or higher on the final, you will not pass. Doing well on all other turn ins will not get you a passing grade in the class either.
You can't procrastinate in this class. There's a lottt of hw. There are 4 exams, 4 study guides, and hw that make up your grade. Each unit test has 15-20 questions. If you struggle in math I wouldn't recommend. FYI unit 3 is the hardest. Ask questions! He's willing to help. Very knowledgeable professor.
This professor is one of the best ones I've ever taken. However, you really do have to work for your grade. All of the HW is due before the test as well as the study guides. Do all the HW and Study Guides and you will be fine. He goes kind of fast, but does a lot of examples. The Final exam was a lot harder than I thought but gives you optional EC.
He goes into extreme detail about problems and makes it easy to ask questions when confused (even though he isn't the best with email). His tests are straight from the study guide. BE WARNED if you do not want to learn you will NOT be able to pass. If you listen in class, do the homework, and the study guide you WILL pass without a doubt.
Would never take again, have to get certain grades on assignment to proceed to the next assignment, so if you struggle with one assignment and can't meet the grade required to advance to the next assignment, you're screwed for that whole week and will get a 0 for the assignments you couldn't get access to.
I had to withdrawal from the class. Its extremely hard, he didnt care about his students or learning. The test are completely different than the study guides, and even though I was on point with everything. Homework, quiz, etc. if you do not pass his mid term nor final he wouldnt even give you a D at least.
Took Prof. Pierre Spring 2020 when Corona took over the second half of the semester. Had in person at first and it was very hard. His lectures are quick, hard to follow for a brand new concept. He will go into detail IF you ask but not much. Lots of homework. I hardly got a B in this class, being online saved my grade cause I could learn on my own.
I believe my experience with Prof. Pierre would have been better in person, but due to COVID I had to take his class online. He obviously wasn't used to online teaching so he made no pre-recorded lecture videos and we never met over teams or zoom, so I basically had to teach myself calculus using the textbook.
I took this class in the Fall of 2020, worst decision of my life. I was a Dual Enrollment student, just trying to receive entry level college classes. Pierre was no help was so ever and was not personable at all. Dropped my perfect 4.0 GPA to a 3.3 GPA. The midterm and final exam was extremely hard and severely confusing. DO NOT TAKE CLASSES W HIM!
His online course is on auto pilot, and he is not available. The platform he uses for the homework and exams is trash. The video's he uses are from the text and dont even cover half of whats in the chapter. I was sick with Covid and he told me to bad he doesnt do make up work. The assignments/test are all due on diffrent dates so pay attention.
He is on auto-pilot. All his messages are all verbatim and scheduled. You are on your own for all the HW, quizzes, and tests. If you can teach yourself math without any instructor assistance, then he's the one for you. If you need help to learn math, DO NOT pick this class.
hes a nice guy, details, but hard to pass, so much hw, if u take his class then prepare only take one class so u can prepare and have time to do all his work giving out, for the math lab and final...
I took it as a DE 10th-grade student. His class is easy to follow along with. He takes the whole period with his lectures every class, which I found to be unnecessary because I didn't pay attention during them and still knew the material. I would just recommend doing the homework even though it's easy to cheat on. It's what I think helps most.
Great professor. He is very helpful and offers online office hours to help you if you are struggling. he follows his syllabus pretty strictly and you must attend class, if you miss more than 5 classes and do not have legitimate reason he will drop you, plus if you don't show up you will get lost and not understand. Good class and good professor.
Professor Pierre is a great guy. You can tell he has a genuine interest in the class and wants to help his students. The class moves at a fast pace with lots of online homework. If you do the homework and attend the class, you will pass.
Prof. Pierre is an amazing & caring teacher. I took MAC2311 online with him. 4 tests, a midterm & the final. He gives reviews for all the exams:50 to 70 questions for the end of chapter exams, 100 to 150 on the midterm and final reviews. Reviews count towards the grade. 5 attempts on HW questions, 2 attempts on exams. He was the easiest math prof.
After taking MAC2311 with Prof. Pierre, I did an independent study for MAC2312. I wasn't able to take Calc2 in person due to work & he was so kind to agree to serve as my IS instructor. The reviews covered all the exam questions. 2 attempts on exams, 5 on HW questions. He is very lenient. Opens all assignments at the end of the semester for makeup
Great Prof! Easiest math class I have taken. He provides reviews for the exams. Exams are similar to the HW and Review questions. Opens all assignments at the end of the semester. Attendance is mandatory. Tests are 2 hours, 24-28 questions, 2 attempts. 5 attempts on HW questions. Midterm and Final are 4 hours. I would definitely take him again!
Professor Pierre's class was OKAY. From my online experience, he gives his students a lot of opportunities to succeed. He allows redos on quizzes and gives reviews for the final. The issue I experienced was that the mid-term and final had problems that neither the book nor the review covered. His involvement is non-existent.
I took Calc 1 online and the lectures were very long. He gave study guides for every test and extra credit for the midterms and final. He gave lots of opportunities to get a good grade. Everything was on WebAssign. Midterm and final were the only tests proctored on Honorlock. Lectures finished 2 weeks early to give you time to review for the final.
This professor is great! He is the kind of professor who won't baby you and will force you to understand the material. However, he is very understanding and is a patient teacher. At the end of the semester, he opens all the assignments so you can earn a higher grade. As long as you don't miss class and keep up with the homework, you will pass!
Prof. Pierre is knowledgeable in what he teaches and makes it easy for students to understand the concepts. He gives a summary of every section and covers everything that is needed to know for HW & Tests. He records his live class notes for students, which is how I passed Calculus.
This professor is amazing, I struggle a lot in math and he helped me pass with an A. I definitely recommend this teacher, because he even gives extra credit for the final to help you pass.
Amazing professor. Explains IN detail every problem in lectures. Online setup is efficient, textbook questions in one tab, explanations in Zoom. Goes over all questions in class until you understand. 4 online exams (not proctored). Midterm and Final (in person). Midterm review = +10% on Midterm, same for Final. Don't miss lectures and you'll pass.
If you like lots of homework and teaching yourself then this class if for you! He doesn't do his job, teach. If you struggle with an assignment and ask for help he just "pushes you in the right direction". He also gives no wiggle room on assignment deadlines no matter the circumstance. You could be dead and the assignment is still due, no exception
Professor Pierre is a great professor. He is very knowledgeable about his work and explains math very clearly. Homework, quizzes, and tests were online and taken at home off of MyMathLab. The Midterm and Final were taken in person. Both of these test, he provided a study guide that could be turned in for extra credit on the exams. Great experience.
If you have to take College Algebra avoid this professor at all costs. He is heavy on the homework & the exams don't align with the homework/quizzes. The discussions are bullshit and wouldn't give you a full credit for the discussion unless you were just submitting a bunch of extra fluff.
Avoid Professor Davidson Pierre at all costs! I failed for the first time despite giving 100%. He assigns endless homework, constant exams, and late-night in-person tests impossible for working students. He doesn't teach, shows zero compassion, and ignores student struggles. Protect your GPA and mental health; stay away!
Avoid him at all costs. He does not teach the content of the chapters, all he does in lectures is do like 5-8 example problems and flies through them. Then assigns close to 100 problems a week for homework due on Friday night... Nearly impossible to do all homework if you work full time. He makes this class way more difficult than it needs to be.
a lot of work but its not an excessive amount. if you complete the review, he gives you extra credit toward midterm and final which are exactly the same. all quizes and tests are done on your own time. recommend to not skip class or else you'll be behind a bit.
He has a strong accent hard to understand and he just flies through everything!
Chapter tests were unproctored, opens up all assignments near the end of semester, midterm and final are in person but posts study guide with almost the exact questions on the exam and if you finish the whole study guide you get 10 points extra credit on the exam. You must have camera on and attend each meeting. Take if you can teach yourself math.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU STRUGGLE WITH MATH! This class was nothing more than a waste of 4 months and a few hundred dollars. The professor did nothing but sit back while hosting the class and had all students work through Pearson. The Pearson platform is a joke and led to me failing this class. If you struggle with math, DO NOT TAKE THIS!
Overall great professor! The people who fail simply don't study or follow the study guide, he moves class fast paced. He gives a study guide which is almost exactly the same as the midterm and for the final, you get 10% extra credit if you do it. Unprotected tests and quizzes online but final and mid term in person. 3 weeks prep for final in class.
