Mrs. Countryman is an EXCELLENT teacher! She is organized, thorough, fair, and is always willing to clarify material when asked. Like any other class, you MUST study to do well. Mrs. Countryman prepares students well for exams, labs and lab practicals. I HIGHLY recommend her!

Breaks all the textbooks standards and excesses all expectations that exists for the model professor. Study, study, study, extremely organized & helpful, acting (plays on actin and myosin), YouTube videos, PowerPoint, dittos, funny ways to memorize bones but it works, and handouts, did I mention helpful. Please continue to educate MVCC students :-)

I love Dawn Countryman!! She's the best teacher I've ever had. Super clear on everything, makes sure you get it. She's understanding and reasonable. Such a smart woman, and hot! Great teacher. Go to class. Do the objectives thoroughly and you should get a decent grade. By no means is this an easy class but you get out what you put in. If you spend quality time studying,notice I said quality not quantity, you should be satisfied with the results. I know I was. She also extremely helpful and wants to see everyone succeed. A+

Dawn is a great instructor. She has some weird quirks, but they are easy to get past. If you pay attention in class and take the initiative to get things done for, you will do well in her class. Try to get a class that she teacher the whole semester and not only half.

Professor Countryman gives you all you need to be successful in this class. Interesting lectures, challenging material, fair exams. The human body is an amazing machine! No matter what teacher you will have, you will have to study quite a lot for this class. You can't procrastinate until the last day before the practical or it will be difficult to pass it. I would definitely recommend Countryman to anyone. Of course you have to put the time in to study. This is no different from any other anatomy class. But Countryman keeps the class interesting. She offers extra credit and hands out a list of objectives telling you exactly what you need to know. She wants her students to succeed!

She is a helpful and educated professor. Don't miss lectures or labs. The Exams are EXTREMELY HARD. I spent hours studying for tests and practicals, highest grade received was a C all semester, so i dropped the class. I would recommend her but be prepared to learn & study ALOT, a good amount of the stuff you learn won't even be on the tests.

Mrs Countryman is an excellent teacher. Easy online HW, gives extra credit for each unit,and tells you what's gonna be on the exams. I see a lot of negative emphasis put on the difficulty level of this class. Ofc it's gonna be hard - it's freaking Anatomy AND Physiology. This class is like a part-time job. If you want A study at least 2h every day.

Countryman is by far THE BEST teacher I've ever had in terms of taking really complicated material and explaining it really well. She is extremely organized and uses every minute of class to teach. Perfect clarity and explanation in lectures. Very difficult class, no matter who you take. You have to study A LOT. I mean, A LOT. But she's the BEST.

Now this is the definition of an amazing teacher who cares about their students. She is willing to help in anyway to get the concepts across. Just beware there are online assignments and take the time to do them or you will drop letter grades. Highly recommend!

I took this class in the fall, made it to the last month and had to withdraw. I spent hours studying for practices, they are extremely hard, timed & spelling points taken off. Tests are even harder, couldn't pass one. good teacher but i wouldn't take the course with her again

This is my second semester at Moraine, and Dawn was my favorite professor. You have to work very hard for this class, but she is so helpful. She's inspiring, so intelligent, and a very good teacher. I wish I could have her for all of my classes. Take her if you really want to learn. Please take her! & study hard, be diligent, and you'll get an A.

Take bio 180& 181 with Professor Countryman without thinking. she is the best teacher, helpful , cute, and care about all of the students in the class. she is very regular at time, has a pretty lecture note, and has mastering. do all the mastering because most of her questions in the tests from mastering. she gives us extra credits for each units .

We know that anatomy and physiology is not an easy course, but honestly she is a great teacher! She cares a lot about her students, lecture test are not easy, and if you study for the practical you should be fine. For quizzes she usually lets us use a cheat sheet and she gives ecmxtra credit which definetly helps you out. TAKE HER! She is the best!

This teacher is awesome for such a hard class. She gives you as much resources that you need to do good. She expects students to learn and put forth effort, so any bad feedback from her classes are because that person probably didn't put fourth the necessary effort. The best professor I have had from this school and the university I went to. She is really great at explaining the material and gives notes on each chapter. She also gives a study guide which is exactly what you need to know for the test. A&P is going to be hard no matter what. Highly recommend taking her.

I absolutely loved Mrs. Countryman. I was very upset when she wasn't teaching 181. She is very helpful and generally cares about how her students are doing in the class. She goes through the models with the class during lab and then walks around to answer any questions during the independent study portion. Lectures are long but she makes them fun

Dawn is great teacher who really excels at what she does. Lecture is very detailed so be sure to take down notes and she even tells you what will be the test or what won't be, so be sure to pay attention. Labs are straight forward and simple. She won't hold your hand throughout the semester but she will guide you through.

This was the hardest class. I was mentally exhausted 24/7. Requires A LOT of studying. She makes you learn with heavy details. Test questions are from the powerpoints. She has tedious online homework assignments. I took 1 class with this and worked full time and got an A but I worked my ass off. I wanted to sleep for a month after the semester.

Attendance, DEFINITELY MANDATORY. This isn't an easy class but its really not all that difficult if you apply yourself. She gives a ton of options for extra credit- just make sure you're in class for it. Very approachable and always helpful, she wants you to succeed.

Other BIO180 students say that their teachers are easier on the lab practicals by providing a word bank. However, Mrs. Countryman believes that the spelling will be important in the medical field, makes sense. Tests are hard because there is tons of memorization. But Dawn makes it relatable in lecture. Take this class if you really want to learn.

Bottom line, she is nice but she makes you earn your grade. Extra credit is given and a must take, because it is very helpful while taking A&P, easy points when given terminology quiz and nerve quiz! Homework is done online, and she DOES cover what is on her exams, you just have to pay attention to the HINTS she gives you. Great Professor!

I'm taking her now and honestly, I wish she taught 181! Her class is lecture heavy but she her lectures are well thought out and organized. She is a tough grader but she is pretty upfront in the syllabus about her expectations of her students. There isn't a lot of extra credit but if you pay attention and work hard, you can do well!

Any A&P course will be difficult, so I don't know why people are complaining so much about her specifically? She's very nice, easily accessible outside of class, and willing to help you pass this course!!

She was definitely a tough teacher but she tells you that first day and reminds you throughout the semester she is preparing you for harder work. I have a child and very much accommodated my parenting emergencies. Prepare properly and do the work and youll be fine.

Honestly professor countryman deserves a higher score on her rating! She was a super nice teacher and I definitely recommend taking her. Anatomy is obviously a tough class but she makes sure to be specific and is always there to help or go over things. Be prepared to study obviously, but if you put the effort, you will get a good grade.

The online class work load is heavy. There's no way to cheat or be lazy. She will help you if you ask- answers emails immediately. She offers lots of extra credit. Honestly, very sad to read the negative reviews. I am halfway through the class, and was able to receive an A on every exam/practical. The class is not easy, but it's anatomy, it's not the professor's fault. The study guides tell you exactly what you need to know for the exam, if you study, you will get an A. She's an amazing professor, 10/10.

It is so sad to hear negative comments about . I took the professor for both BIO180 and 181 and I do not regret it. If I would have to take her again I would do it. If you want to learn something that is a great teacher. You have to work hard and study but it pays off. Remember, this is anatomy and physiology so it has to be hard.

Tough professor, tough subject. You really need to put in the hours of studying and keeping on top of everything. Sometimes I felt like she moved a little fast. Almost everything is on canvas. Also gives multiple opportunities for extra credit.

I see comment that her study guide and practice tests are nothing like the exams but that's not necessarily the case. They're study GUIDES. She only really grades you on your unit exams, practical exams and final exam. Will take again!

I took Professor Countryman for both BIO 180 & 181 and got an A for both. She's amazing, funny, and caring. She gives you great tips on how to remember stuff and is more than happy to help if your confused. Professor Countryman made BIO181 a great experience. She is great in the lab, very knowledgeable and really wants to see you do good. The lecture exams can be challenging at times but she gives students more than enough resources to succeed. Highly recommend if you are looking to get a lot of an A&P 2

I took this class for the 2nd time in Spr 2023. I had taken BIO180 previously with L. Khataib & withdrew because of how intense this class is. Knowing how to study is just as important as taking it with a good teacher. This class is intensive & sitting through lectures is key. If you are struggling, Dawn was more than understanding to work with me.

I ended the semester with a 97%. Here's how: I studied for 1-2hours a day Watched ninja nerd on YouTube (super helpful) then i would watch dawn's lecture videos and wrote my notes on flashcards. Anything i didn't understand i would ask dawn (super nice). Her exams can be a little confusing at first but you'll get used to it!

Yes her class was tough but that's expected from an anatomy course. But as a professor she was very helpful, good at teaching, and had a lot of engaging activities for us. She also offers a lot of extra credit. If you put in the time and study then you will pass.

Professor Countryman runs a challenging but rewarding course. The material is tough, but her practice tests and study guides are invaluable. Unstuck study was a lifesaver for me - highly recommend using it alongside the other resources.
