She's pretty cool, very nice. Class isn't difficult, just a couple essays and thats pretty much it, oh and class work and homework but thats not too bad and their not really graded either. Overall it's an okay class. She's a good teacher and anyone would do fine with her, but she does grade kinda hard, but not to hard lol.

She is a really good professor. She always takes the time to break things down and makes sure everybody fully understands what is going on. She also tells you what she expects of you so your're able to do well in her class.

She is a very VERY fair grader. As long as you show up to class on time and do your work you will do well in her class. She is very easy to understand and is willing to help u if u need it.

I took this class on-line and I loved it. She is very helpful and was quick to respond to any questions I could think of. We were able to turn in papers before hand so she could read them over and give us help, not many teachers are willing to do that. I would reccomend this teacher to anyone thinking about taking EN 102.

She is very good. I had her for EN001. I passed that class she skipped me to EN101A. If you come to class everyday,on time and do what's required of you, you will pass this class. SHE IS REALLY A GREAT PROF. AND I HIGHLY RECOMMAND HER.

This is my first English class I took when I got into MC. I have to say it was one of my greatest experience. Not only she is funny, but also she's excellent as a professor. Took an online course with Prof. Downey called the short story. It was great, you pretty much read short stories and talk about them via blackboard discussion board, write analysis of 2 short stories that are assigned by her and write a final essay. The midterm is also an essay, but they are really easy and lengths are always reasonable and doable

Really helpful teacher. She moved me up to EN 101 after EN 001. She knows her stuff. Can be a little sassy at times. I took her during Fall Semester.

I took her class for Summer session along with other subjects. She was really understanding and helpful after I told her that I am taking a heavy load for that Summer session. Gives feedback really well, and she is reasonable with the grades. Also, she knows if you worked hard on a specific paper or not.

Prof Downey is great! She's sweet & really wants her students to do well. She takes the time to meet with each one of us individually and provide feedback on essays. If you do the work &follow the rubric then you will pass. She does require attendance but is also understanding if its an emergency. Her method of teaching is fantastic. :)

Professor Downey is awesome. I took her online class and found it to be well organized and straightforward. She is incredibly accessible if you need her assistance (she responded very quickly each time I messaged her) and her feedback is incredibly helpful. She really wants you to succeed in her class and clearly cares about her students. Take her!

She is really nice, gives great feedback and the best teacher to take online. She answers very quickly the emails and all of the assignments have reasonable deadlines.

As long as you attend all or most classes and complete at least 80-85% of assignments, then there wont be a problem with grades. In every class, participation is required so as long as you come somewhat prepared and with a will to learn she will never let you down. No textbooks were needed and very interesting materials were presented.

Professor Downey is not only a wonderful professor, she's also incredibly caring. If there's something you don't understand or find confusing she will do her best to help you. She has children of her own going to college so she understands the difficulty students undergo. She's a fair grader and gives you the expectations upfront.

I was never the best at English but Prof Downey made the class simple. I took the "accelerated" 102 which means we met once a week paper due every Sunday minus break. She even gave us an extra two weeks on our 8 page final argument essay. Her feedback is clear and useful and by using her feedback I ended up getting a 94/100 on my final essay !

English 102 taught by Professor Downey was a great experience for me. I loved to be in a class where assignments are taken serious and Professor Downey's class had that criteria. I got an "A" and its the result of the excellent guidance by Professor Downey and my own commitment to learn English. I strongly recommend this class!!! :)

I had a great experience in this class! There were three reading assignments every week, a 10 question weekly quiz, and discussion posts with prompts. Prof. Downey is very kind and detailed in her feedback. This course wasn't too demanding and the discussions were pretty chill. Would definitely have her again if I could.
