Teacher is exteremely clear with lectures; provides study guides (fill in blank) so no note taking during classes. Tests are EVIL!!! you definitely need to study for more than 3 hours for them!!!

Very nice lady. She is willing to go the extra mile for her students. You need to follow her expectations though. If you follow your syllabus and stay on top of your work you will do fine in her class.

if you come to class really willing to learn and retain info, this class is easy. if you're not good in bio, take her. she's really funny and has awesome projects to do. the tests aren't too hard as long as you study a little. this class covers EVERYTHING you need to know for bio 150. take it!

Great teacher and a really nice, sweet person. Explains information extremely well. Workload is heavy, and the tests are difficult, but she is always willing to help those who need it. Very passionate about her subject. Lots of extra credit. Come to class, pay attention and take notes and you'll pass.

Tough lecture tests(tricky) and involved lab tests. Put in the time to read and be at class and you will do fine. She does give some EC which helps as well. I loved her lectures and really enjoyed the class overrall but it is not for slackers or those who do not show up to class. She was funny, nice, but would put you in place if need be.

Very good teacher. I thought the tests were very easy and she was clear in lectures. She doesn't waste time trying to trick or confuse you like most teachers. She stuck to the point and she couldn't have made an 8 week class easier. Would highly recommend her.

Very difficult teacher. The lecture tests aren't so bad, but the lab tests will kill you. She doesn't offer a word list so there is alot of memorization that must take place. Her lectures are easy to follow and she knows her stuff. Be prepared to work hard for a good grade.

She is very enthusiastic and helpful. She presents everything in a very hands-on and interactive way. She is not very flexible on her class rules, but she is always available for help and an excellent teacher. I enjoyed her class more than any other and I'm a business major!

She is a wonderful professor. Attendance is mandatory. Easy to follow in lecture and labs were fun.

First ask yourself why am I in school to begin with? This professor only asks of you what you are there for. Yes tests can be hard, considering I was a returning student after many years I passed this class, and attended every class. She will help you when needed, but she just does not give you the answers she helps you to get your mind thinking.

The class is tough and Edford is the best teacher to prepare you for your future classes. My only regret is that she's not teaching A&P II. Be diligent and expect to study two/three a night.

Tough class..Be ready to allocate alot of time for this class if you want a good grade. Tests are very hard and more in depth than what the lectures covered. Ms. Edford is very organized and nice. Offers some extra credit and has an SI...take advantage of these.

Gives out a good amt of ex credit and excellent notes. I passed with a B+ with only studying the lecture notes and ex/credit. Good prof knows her subject well. Anatomy is hard in general so please don't expect it to be a blow off class cause its NOT, don't waste your time if your not willing to study in order to pass.

This is the second class that I have had with this teacher. She is well organized,clear in lecture, and tries to make it as interesting as she can. Take advantage of the extra credit and SI that is offered. This is a very hard class, you will have to put in a lot of effort!

This is a tough class, but it should be. In your future health career, you will draw upon the knowledge gained in this class every day. Ms. Edford prepares you well. She is thorough, fair and very knowledgeable. As a current nursing student, I feel more prepared for my classes, exams and future career having had Ms. Edford as an instructor.

AWESOME TEACHER! Class is very, very hard (A&P is tough no matter what teacher).Study everything on the handouts she provides. Gives lots of xtra credit and lets you drop lowest exam. Take advantage of SI sessions and open lab hours.

She is a great biology teacher, she makes things very clear and easy to understand, and she is very organized. Her tests are from her powerpoint and if you study that and do all your work you should have no problem getting an A in this class. Yes you have to study, but you cant take a biology class and expect not to study.

If you want to learn biology, this is the professor to take. I struggled to get a C in the class, but I learned more from her than any other science teacher I've ever had. The class is a lot of work, but I'd still take a class with her again.

The best Professor I have had thus far at OCC. She is very thorough. But will only test you on what she feels is necessary(not all of every ch.) Lectures and labs are great. Attendance not mandatory...but go to every class and lab. A & P I is a hard class...period. I can't imagine another professor being this nice, professional, and caring.

Class is very hard, but expected. Study hard for lab exams and lecture exams. She tells you exactly what she wants. You take notes off of a powerpoint but it is not a lot of writing. Lab is very boring but needed to help study for the lab exam. Take her!

The first BIO class I didn't sleep in. She is extreamly professional, fair, knowledgeable, passionate, and helpful. If you want to learn, she is there for you. She tells you what she wants you to know exactly. She gives you the essence and trims off the rest for you. So study! What else do you want? And who said it should be easy?

She is a very knowledgable and passionate about biology.She is the head of the bio dept.She is very helpful when you have questions.Must due a fair amount of studying,I read the chapters in the book and really grasped the information. You will not get an A unless you read the book and understand material well. She does give extra credit. TAKE HER!

Clear and fair teacher. Would recommend. Be prepared for lots of little quizzes. Which is better than just being graded on tests. Pleasant attitude. All the things you would want in a prof!

Great professor! It is not an "easy" class, but with hard work an A is achievable. She is friendly, fair, and helpful. Really enjoyed the class and learned a ton!

The tests for her class were very difficult, but only made up about half of the grade- a lot of credit was given for lab participation, reports, and other assignments. Very knowledgable professor and friendly. I would definitely recommend her for a class, as long as you are willing to put in the hard work and study hard for tests!

VERY good teacher, the course itself was hard but the methods of learning were the best I have ever seen. Lots of good notes, printouts, online notes and information on D2L. Random little in class assignments that greatly helped the knowledge sink in. I would highly recommend this teacher above all others.

This class is hard regardless of who teaches it. You have to be prepared to push yourself constantly. However, Ms. Edford is very much into helping her students. She gives you notes to print out, study guides, and tells you about the test 3-5 days prior. She has an agenda that she follows, but she's always willing to help.

I have Ms. Eford for anatomy/physiology 1 and i must admit it is a very tough class!! But Ms Edford is awesome and is very good at explaining things to people like me who is a slower learner then others. She goes over everything that will be on the test and if you study her lecture notes, you will get an A. I learned so much in her class!

It's hard- you move fast. Lecture is a must & will throw out helpful hints. Make notes in margins of w/e she says after "make sure to focus on..." It helped me figure out what& how to study certain concepts. Read the book AND the outlines- it tells you exactly what to study b/c her test Q's based off them. Stay after lab to get optimal lab Q's help

If you want to learn Anatomy without being too stressed along the way, Dawn is the teacher to take. As long as you show up to lab and lectures, you are can easily pass this class. You do need to study for this class though. You get to build good study habits while learning the easy stuff first and then you can use those when the class gets tougher.

I couldn't ask for more in a professor. She is a good person, very clear, well organized and very fair. The class is very straightforward, you put in the work, you get the A.

A&P is a tough class. Ms. Edford gives her students all the tools and information they need to be successful. She did make it clear, grades are earned. With any BIO class, plan to study 3 hours at home for every 1 hour in class. She does offer extra credit. She treated everyone in our class respectfully. I would take her again.

Professor Edford has been great! If you attend class and pay attention, you're bound to do well in this class. Exams are really tough, so study weeks in advance for those. She gives a lot of grading opportunities though, which is great. She also drops your lowest test score. I wish she taught A&P 2 :)

Ms. Edford is the best teacher I've had in college. She's incredibly smart, professional, and helpful. Her classes are not easy--the material is hard no matter what. Her study guides are great. She works very hard to make sure all of her students are given the tools to succeed. I'd take her for all of my classes if I could.

Ms Edford is a caring teacher who provides all the tools her students need to succeed in the class. Lots of ec opportunities. Tests are difficult but based off the info covered in her notes, not all the other material in the chapter. This makes it easy to know what to focus on for exams. Overall very helpful and sweet. Learned a lot in this class

Prof. Edfords lectures were very organized and the material was thoroughly explained. She provided wonderful study tools, was fair in her testing/grading and made excellent use of class time. She goes the extra mile to make sure students are provide with tools necessary to learning this subject. I appreciate her dedication and work in teaching.

I took A&P 1 because I was looking to be challenged by a bio course and it did just that. Ms. Edford is extremely knowledgable and presents the information clearly. She was also very nice and always available for help should you need it. There is a LOT of information presented, and many students drop the course. Do not expect to sit back and pass.

Ms. Edford was a GREAT teacher. She is hard, but she is good! I'm not a good test taker and I passed the class with an overall B. If you study hard and put in the time, you will be fine. She is very knowledgable and it is very clear that she loves what she does. Overall great professor.

Ms Edford is a true science nerd, in the best way possible. She is really into her job and she gets very excited about science, which is great to have in a professor. Each lecture has a 10 question quiz, she gives extra credit opportunities, and you dont need the book to get an A on tests. Cant wait to take her A&P1 class next semester!

Ms. Edford is a very organized teacher. The workload is overbearing IF YOU DON'T STUDY!! I had to put a lot of hours into studying but it paid off. What she tells you to study is what to be expected on exams and practicals. The extra credit was also nice. I appreciated her study guides and thorough outlines. Personality might be a little dry@times.

I have Edford for Life Science and Medical Terminology currently. Next semester I will have her for anatomy. She is very helpful easy tests and wants you to succeed. Her classes are challenging but well put together over all she is my favorite professor so far.

Have Edfors for life science and the format of her class is great. She test you off of material in her lecture notes so no surprises. She also have online quizzes you take to boost your grade and then after you are able to review answers for upcoming exam. Just make sure you keep up with your notes and your golden pony boy.

Professor Edford is an amazing woman. Anatomy is extremely difficult on its own so if your trying to get the easy way out don't even bother taking this class. You can't blame her for being tough but she's tough in a GOOD way, you actually learn the material. Tests are hard but fair. She is great at what she does and I couldn't ask for anyone better

Professor Edford is one of the best teachers. For students who are really want to study and gain knowledge. She is very kind and helpful when you are struggling. Her test does not very easy, but if you study enough, you will get it. I strongly recommend to take her class.

I am finishing my Junior year and Miss Edford is the best college professor I have ever taken from. She knows her field, she is SO sweet and willing to help, and she offers plenty of extra credit. For every chapter, she takes time to make lecture notes for us to print off and follow. She grades fairly and wants everyone to succeed. LOVE her!

I love Miss Edford! She truly cares about her students and wants them to learn and understand the material. The class isn't a walk in the park, and if you want a good grade you'll definitely have to work for it. However, upon completing her class I feel like I've learned so much, and am ready to move on to Anatomy and Physiology I.

I really enjoyed having Ms. Edford as my A/P 1 instructor. You do have to study a lot but she really gets you to understand the material. If you focus and do well on the exams you don't need to take the final. Her tests can be tricky if you didn't really understand the material, so make sure you study and review often.

Had Edford for BIO1511 and she's good. Lectures kept you engaged and the 3 hours flew by like nothing. Labs were simple and class typically got out early more often than not. My only gripe is that tests can be a little more complicated than the study guides make them out to be, but aside from that she's great! Solid choice if you need a BIO class.

Professor Edford is a great teacher. This class requires you to study/memorize the words because that is what medterm is. Her grading was straight forward because the material is straight forward. If you study, you will do well. There was minimal homework outside of class. Extra credit here and there. Overall A+ teacher.

Professor Edford was amazing for A&P 1. She gives out an outline for each chapter along with study guides that are very accurate to the test. If you put in the work during open lab and study the lecture outlines well then you'll get an A.

Shes an amazing teacher. Not only does she know what shes doing, but also she passinate about her job. She was not once irritated of me asking many questions during lab. Let's be honest she's a bio teacher and bio takes more time and effort. Also her lectures are not boring nor is her voice. If you sleep during her lectures that's on you.

If you put in the effort you will get a good grade. E-text is part of the class but you also get many PowerPoints that she narrates. Take the time to listen, she will explain more than just what is on the slides.

Prof Edford was a great professor overall. I took the hybrid class so my lecture was online and the lab was in person. You must take the time to study and I promise you will succeed. She is very open to answering any questions you have and for the most part, will guide you through all labs and information. Some tests are on MAP as well as most HW.

I had a hybrid class, long power points for tests. I thought the practicals were easy, she tells you exactly what to expect and gives you everything you need to know. But good luck on the bone test. Lots of tests but it wasn't too bad, it is an anatomy class after all. Be prepared to study, do any extra credit she gives and she answers email fast.

Dr. Edford knows what she's talking about &is confident in teaching it. I took her in the fall 2021 ap1 She had optional extra days we could come and use lab models ask her questions etc before practicals which HELPED A LOT. ppts easy to fallow Tests/labs were HARD. Covers A LOT of material but passable w/ the guidance of this professor for sure!

By far my favorite professor this semester. I have her 2 hour lecture two times a week and if you listen in class and study the powerpoints you will pass the exams. She is very nice and emails back fast. She provides study guides for exams and is willing to stop class to answer questions. Labs every week but she drops one lab grade if you miss it.

Fantastic professor. I learned so much in this class. She is clear and concise, and her lectures flow nicely. You will be lucky to take this course with her.

Mrs. Edford is my favorite teacher I've had so far. I took her for intro to bio last semester and passed with an A- despite at one point having as low as a 70% in the class. She offers plenty of extra credit options to boost your grade and even offers one optional make up test at the end of the semester to drop a low test score.

Professor Edford is an excellent professor. She is kind, helpful, and intelligent. She is an awesome teacher because she teaches well, she is understandable when it comes to work and she is a good speaker and she makes sure she is clear and concise. Definitely take her! Studying is important very very important. Study as much as you can.

Ms Edford is a great teacher who is very passionate about what she is teaching about, she offers a lot of options for extra credit and truly helps you throughout the class. Prof is intense and pretty detailed. Her tests are difficult, but if you put in a lot of hours outside of the class, you can pull off an A. I had to retake the course, and I had a different professor. I had a significant increase in my grade.

I had such a great experience with Professor Edford. A&P isn't easy because there's a lot to learn, but she made it clear and manageable. If you dedicate the time to study, it really pays off. No matter the professor, the content stays the same, but she truly made it feel easier and more understandable. I definitely recommend taking A&P1 with her!
