She's a good teacher but really tough, you got to study hard for the exams. the first lab practical is murder. but she gave extra credit so that was nice.

Professor Janich is one of the best teacher. To honest, she is a hard teacher but if you study and do your work there is no way that you can fail because she offer a lot of extra credit for everyone of her test. I learn a lot from her class. Remember do all the work she give and try to best you will be successful in her class.

Simply put, Professor Janich is a wealth of knowledge. Pay close attention to her lectures and her handouts. Do not interrupt her teaching rhythm to tell a story. One of the best professors Ive had. Her analogies really helped me relate the material to things I could understand. Her reviews before tests are excellent. She really wants her students to do well. Just show up on time, turn your cell phone off and act like an adult (This can be difficult for CCP students.)

Professor Janich was tough but she was very thorugh and i you needed help she was there willing to help you succed. She was also very fair and gave every student a chance.I was mad when i found out that she didn't teach 110 because she was so great and to this day i still keep in touch with her.

Prof. Janich was THE BEST TEACHER I have ever taken. Micro is a very hard, intense course but, she breaks everything down so simple. I found her to be hysterically funny and a great person to talk to. She does have pet peeves, but who doesn't? Come on time, turn your cell phone off and show up for class and you will be fine. I expected to read a lot of "sour grapes" from people who didn't try hard. This is not high school folks -- in college they expect you to get to class on time, come prepared (that means reading AHEAD of the leacture), and turn off cell phones. I was nervous because Micro is known to be very hard. She gives you a book of notes at the beginning of the semester. Her reviews for the test are 95% of what is on the test. I only studied after her test reviews and I got a A in her class. I only studied what she said in her reviews, she really narrows your focus. Great teacher.

She is awsome. Her pointing system is beyond. All her tests have extra point. Her labs test are cake. Study all she gave u,(not only review) and believe me if u study, u will pass at leeeeeast with B.

Prof. Janich was THE BEST teacher I have ever had. The students who complain about her sound like people who expect to be handed A's without having to do any work. Most students in her class are moving on to health care related fields, so I think it's great that she weeds out the incompetent ones.

I loved this class! Usually those who dont like her class are those who cant follow simple instructions. There are no surprises in her class her reviews are crystal clear and almost an exact replica of the test. I would recommend her classes to anyone. So I read some negatives and positives reviews of all the students who have taken Professor Janich, she is REAL as they come and she KNOWS her S**T and she just got her MASTERS. You have to study for her test and her Lab test are easy if you study as well. She throws out easy points and it all adds up. If you are becoming a nurse take her, she will teach you the important stuff in micro. COME TO CLASS ON TIME... if your becoming a nurse be on time you might save a life in what I have learned from her. To Be Continued...

I ve had her for 2 semesters and she has been cool to talk to after class when you show that you want to learn and be on time. Give her the respect and she will gladly give you the same respect. Basically work hard and you'll get a good grade :)

While many people would say this professor is very difficult, she really gives clear expectations of her students and is willing to help anyone who needs it. If you want to really know the material, Janich is the prof for you. She expects you to be on time for class and have your work done. But that is only logical seeing as you are a student.

Wonderful teacher! Took her online during Summer and the work may not have been easy but she was ALWAYS there to help and made it as clear as she can. She puts up notes for every unit and exams are multiple choice. I was 3 points away from and A and she didn't think it would be fair not to give them to me so I got an A. I very much recommend her!!

She is a great teacher. It was an online class and I enjoyed every minute of it. Especially the labs. If she taught the next Bio level online, I would take her class. If you need to take Bio online take her, she is a great and very helpful teacher. I learned a lot.

I don't know how this professor got so many negative comments this was one of the easiest and most clear classes i've ever taken. I thought basically having to teach myself the information would be really complicated but everything is very clear and straight forward and the online labs are actually really entertaining.

Her expectations are very clear, assignments straight forward. I would take her again if needed. Her attitude is disgusting, she was very rude and moody the entire semester. She threw our whole class out of lab because we didn't do an assignment that she didn't assign then she baked us cookies and cakes.

Professor Janich is one of Community College's best professor who teaches biology. She is crystal clear in her teaching, she goes at a pace where everyone could comprehend, you can ask her as many question as you like, her office is always open for student consulting. She is witty and a joy to behold. I enjoyed her class this semester.

Very helpful, very nice, responds quickly to emails. She points you to a lot of source material, and you have to read it all to pass the exams. She really intends for you to KNOW this stuff, which I appreciate. I will be taking classes with her again this fall.

Very awesome teacher. I took her online course and it was a lot of fun. (The online labs are really fun) I recommend taking this professor. She grades fairly and she is very responsive to any questions you might have. Would definitely take a class with her again!

My favorite professor ever. She can seem strict at times, but IT WILL BE OK. She gets the concepts in your head in such a way that you really KNOW them, teaches you to think. Makes lectures & labs feel more like Science Club with your friends. Wish she taught more classes. Plenty of notice & review for tests.

I thought she was a great teacher. Any questions I had, she got back to me quickly. Usually the same day. Her tests are hard so make sure you study. What's nice is that she gives you review questions (not mandatory) and she'll look over your answers. I would take her again.

I took her online course over the summer. The class was more difficult than I anticipated. All the homework and lab questions are free response and therefore requires you to really understand the material. This class definitely wasn't easy but I did learn a lot about biology.

I liked that she had review questions that helped you prepare for tests. It is a time consuming class. Textbook not really needed, you would do fine off her notes and reviews. Very nice Professor but I hate biology and this class wasn't easy. Weekly Homework and Labs. Four tests plus a Final. no discussions. She does NOT give extra credit. I did all the work, never missed an assignment, but she's a tough grader and big on plagiarism, which really made me anxious when it came to writing definitions from the textbook.

She is a fair professor. Clear about her expectations and gives a lot of feedback. She answered all my questions and offered several additional resources. She want's everything in your own words, to see that you are thinking through the subject and understanding. Overall, this class was a lot of work, a lot of homework, though I think bio is hard.

Difficult grader. My wife is a Dr. and she said the questions asked are very open ended leaving a few possibilities. Supportive when I needed help and replied in a timely manner. Most of these complaints are people who want everything to be easy. Fair, but tough. You will definitely learn from her class. Instructions are well done.

I took this class online and for the most part it was what I expected. There were weekly labs as well as weekly homework assignments. Professor Janich provides alot of information throughout the course with powerpoint lectures, additional notes, Q & A notes, and videos. If you are willing to learn and do the work you will be fine.

Professor Janich went above and beyond many other instructors with online classes. She made actual video lectures (something I've not seen before by any professor at CCP) to help explain the material. The homework requires some independent thought, but is totally manageable. Just do the readings and be open to learning and you'll do well.

This professor is absolutely amazing!!! Her exterior my seem rough at first but she is a true gem!!! She cares about her students and this course. She is extremely helpful and understanding. I would take her a million times if I could. I wish all professors were like her!!!

Love that I could take this class fully online. I purchased the textbook with access code for almost 200 and never used it once. I was able to get an A using just the powerpoints and plenty of websites provided! Prof will mark questions wrong that are just worded differently than she likes. Overall good though and cares about the subject!

Professor Janich was awesome! She takes the time to videotape her lectures and explains everything so in depth and also provides many different ways to interpret the information. Extra credit is given. If you read, study and try your best. You will pass!

I took bio 106 in the summer I feel her summer class is super relaxed I was in a 7-week class there was always something to do basically busy work and you can do the work at your own pace and the assignment are in the online book you don't need a code it already there for you to open you just have to do the work you can always email her

She feels the more you understand it, you'll retain it, and the better you'll learn. She is loving, reasonable, and cares about the well being of her students. Ultimately, she will help you in succeeding in her class.

Dawn Janich is a great professor, I recommend her for general biology I, due to the way she provides us with all the information we need for the quizzes and HW. She does tell us what will be on the tests and what we should study. she provides, lectures, power point video lectures and online textbooks with links to study guides and practices.
