Unprofessional, unfair, immature. She should not be teaching at all. DO NOT TAKE HER FOR ANYTHING IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE (unless you are of the male gender)!
Dr. Taylor was great. She was easy and really nice. She made class enjoyable with her off-the-wall personality.
Explains the material very well and very entertaining. Make sure you do every packet problem she assigns you and you will do well on her tests. The course isn't easy, but with a little work it shouldn't be sooooo bad.
She makes sure every student understands material (even if it means staying 2hrs after class).
Dr. Taylor is unclear and makes mistakes while teaching the class a new concept everytime. She did not prepare us for higher level chemistry courses. If you can avoid her, it would benefit you tremendously.

very enjoyable person, will help if she can
Very sweet and funny! Love her to death, but she's not a good teacher. Doesn't portray the subj in a clear and understandable manner.
Very enthusiastic about chemistry. Teaches in a random order and makes alot of mistakes. However, she is really fun and engergetic and makes the class fun. tests are not hard either (if you do the homework!)
What i like about Dr. Taylor is that she makes her lectures enjoyable and doesn't put her students to sleep. She often makes mistakes when teaching which can be annoying at times, but she's always in her office if u need her for help. Good times y'all=)
Dr. Taylor makes class interesting and her door is always open for help. Do NOT listen to any bad comments about her. She is really funny, and truly wants her students to do well. She is very pleasing to the eyes as well (for male students)
Get a new job.
nice lady and easy to talk to...very helpful
She is very helpful! It's nice to have a teacher that's into our current culture!
Get a new job Dr. Taylor
Bounces around the room, which helps keep you alert and your attention on the lecture. If there are any problems she is very willing to help!
She's awesome! Very approachable about anything that you don't understand, gives weekly quizzes, gives a lot of examples in her class notes that can help you a lot on your homework sets
i had her for chem 111 as well and wish i had taken her 112 lecture. i love her to death. she is such a fun and cool teacher and is very helpful. i bit challenging but in a fun way. . . plus shes cute!
Dr. Taylor is a great teacher and very helpful if you don't understand the material. The class itself is a hard class and there is no way around it, but I ended up with a B+ in both 111 and 112. She keeps you awake and is not boring. Tests are graded fair
I have had Dr. T for 111 lab and 112 lecture and lab. I wish I would have discovered her in 111 lecture. She is the best Chemistry teacher ever. Her door is always open and she gives candy durning holidays. EAT SMARTIES *you are what you eat!!!
Great teacher for Chemistry AND lab! She'll really work w/ you. Show up for class & do the work, you'll get at least a B...AND she's a cutie!
Really takes her time to explain things to you and will be sure to allow time to meet with you if necessary! Tests are difficult, but they make you think and use all of the knowledge that she taught you. Enjoyable class and you will learn alot!
She explains everything very well. She really cares about all of her students and takes her time to get to know all of them.
Presents material in understandable way on the board or power point. Gives review sheets for tests and final. If you are a visual learner check her out (in more than one way).
Great teacher...
Dr. Taylor rocks! best chem teacher at cofc. presents material in understandable way, notes are online, shes funny and going to class is actually fun.
She is really funny and really helpful, she even helps me with my lecture stuff even though she isn't my lecture teacher. But you better read the material before the lab other wise the quizes will kill you
dr. t is awesome!!!!!
Dr. Taylor is sooo sweet. She takes a somewhat boring subject and makes it fun. Her jokes and constant 80's antics keep you on your toes and awake in class. Plus she's very clear with what you need to know. I wish she was teaching 112 lecture next semester.
She goes a little crazy during class sometimes, but if you manage to understand the material, and ask her questions, she will go over everything you have to know. She is a great professor, I would recommend taking her for chem 111.
Took Dr. Taylor for Lab, and I understood material better than I did Lecture....wish I had her for lecture!! Excellent teacher!!
she tries to be cool and funny in class but it can get a little annoying. Her tests are difficult but weigh a lot less than homework and quizzes which is nice. Does not prepare you for the final at all. Wastes time at teh beginning and then crams 4 chpts into one lecture for a huge test at the end
Great professor. Always willing to help. Pretty hot too.
Easy lab teacher who makes lab fun. Not much in the helpfulness area because she makes you figure things out yourself or with your lab partners, which is fine.
She the best and she's the only reason I'm taking 112.
She will hate me for this, but ya gotta love D.T.! ;)
She is really nice you just have to ask her for help, makes a lot of weird jokes in class, overall a fun expirence.

Awesome organic lab. She is super relaxed and very helpful if you go see her. Very entertaining too.
Funny, quirky, and chews bubblegum during lecture. Makes learning fun, like it was in 3rd grade. Excellent understanding and presentation of material. She just wants to have fun, you should too!
she is very entertaining and makes tough material easy to understand. I would definately suggest taking her.
Dr. Taylor is so nice and she's funny. But there's really nothing funny about her tests they are hard as s***!
I had her for lab. She tries to be funny but unless you are one of her chosen favorites, she's kind of intimidating, and a little ****y. I was afraid to ask her questions most of the time for fear of feeling so stupid. There are annoying quizzes at the beginning of every lab and the final is pretty damn hard. Good luck.

1st of all, she's in no way hot. at all. 2nd of all, she is horribly ineffective. gets confused when working problems in class. sometimes gives the wrong info. dont know how she went through grad school without a better understanding of the subject. oh, and just b/c she's an incapable ditz, definitely doesn't mean u get easy tests (impossibly long)
Professor Taylor is a real winner. She explains labs very well, and always answers questions. She always sends out an e-mail full of tips a day or two before the lab, and she does this all semester long. Her tests can be pretty hard for a lab class, but she gets you ready for them if you listen to her and read your book. Bonus: she's really funny.
Very hard professor. She makes a lot of mistakes in examples, so it's almost impossible to study from examples in notes and HW. Plays favorites and tests are usually too long to finish in 50 mins I busted my azz to get a C+ and I'm an A student everywhere else. Has lots of office hours, and she's pretty cute, especially for someone in the chem dept
She's fun and nice but very tough.
Ms. Taylor was the best teacher I've had so far. She makes jokes (sometimes cheesy) and learning very fun. She gives a quiz every Friday and she drops one quiz and test. Tests are not that hard if you study and do the homework. Make sure you show up for class if you want to do well. She goes above and beyond to help people.
Prof. Taylor was amazing. she tries her best to make the class interesting. some say she chooses fav. but she just likes people who try and was never any less strict when grading their tests. tests are long but if you know the material they aren't impossible. shes always willing to help
Hardest chem class I've ever heard of. She's really nice and kind of funny, but her tests are ridiculous. Our second test's class average was in the 40s. She goes over material in class that makes sense but the homework and the tests are waaaay harder. You have to be crazy to take this for a boost in GPA.
I am a chemistry major and she is the best teacher i've had so far. I am very ADD and I actually payed attention in her class. Her class is fun and she is very clear teaching each topic. Tests are hard but she gives you review sheets.
She is very good at explaining things but her tests are so rediculously hard. However, she gives alot of quizes which are pretty easy. You would have to be extremely smart to make an A and a hard worker. You have to study well over 6 hours a week in order to not fail her tests. But I know I should have gotten a C+ and she gave me a B-.
Professor Taylor is a really good teacher. She is funny and is able to explain things well. Attendance isn't mandatory but there is a quiz almost every day. They are pretty easy but will kill your average if you miss it.
Avoid! Had her for lab, so she could be different in lecture. Does not seem interested in teaching. When I had a question she told me to consult the book and did not make any attempt at helping me. When she does teach, she shows you a method but does not explain any science behind it. Got the impression that she wants you to get things wrong.
Dr. T is AWESOME. Anybody who says otherwise is just an idiot. Her lectures are so clear & she is hilarious. Always helps in any way she can. Gives lots of HW to help review and quizzes for grade boosts. Has a journal assignment which keeps material fresh in your mind. Tests are really fun & challenging. You've got to be crazy to not like her!
This class was very challenging, but she is a good teacher. She is very nice and intelligent. She gives a lot of quizzes and has you do an online journal. Both really help pull up your grade.
Her test are pretty ridiculous, the quizzes are basically keeps your grade alive. If you are not very good in chem do not take her because she is very negative if you ask her for help.
Her test are pretty ridiculous, the quizzes are basically keeps your grade alive. If you are not very good in chem do not take her because she is very negative if you ask her for help.
Dr. Taylor's attitude is very demeaning and immature. You would think a Grove City College graduate would display more Christian attributes. Her willingness to help is pathetic. This adjunct professor should definitely stick to her other job.
Tests are really difficult. The quizzes and online journal are what really helps your grade. She is very funny and gives a lot of review sheets to try and help you before the tests. She doesnt check them so you have to make the effort to see her. Overall a good teacher you just HAVE to go to EVERY class.
oh Dr. T..kinda have a love/hate relationship with her. Great during lecture but tend to disagree when I get a test back. Extremely hard no matter how much you study and very long and hard to finish. Gives a quiz every class period to "check attendance". Hard teacher, but it's hard material too. Make sure you make this class a priority to do well.
Dr. Taylor's lecture class was awesome! If you work hard for her, and clearly show her that you are trying, it will pay off! The class is very hard and demands daily work (not just the day before a test) She gives a quiz every class period which is designed to pad the lower averages of the really hard tests. She is smart, funny, and loves teaching.
Don't take Dr Taylor unless you're naturally good at chemistry. Completely blows off any question whether in class or office hours. The tests are brutal, MUCH harder than the practice problems. SI was the only reason I passed this class. I worked damn hard in this class, but still only managed a C+, and I'm usually an A student with little effort
How this woman got a doctorate in Science is BEYOND me. Don't let the afternoon hours tempt you--if you want to get anything out of this class you're going to have to teach yourself. She acts like Phoebe from Friends. She hates it when people ask "good questions" (as she calls them) because she can't answer them. She's a nice PERSON, thats it.
She teaches basic and higher level Chem & she doesn't know what electronegativity. I had her for lab too and there was no more sample for our TEST, and she said, "So?" She's there to help, not expect us to fail b/c she is never prepared for lab. All she does is crack jokes that aren't funny. She doesn't even try to help us understnd. She sucks.
She is impossible..... this class is ridiculous. She does not even teach she just throws equations at you and expects you to know how to solve them. She works problems on the board but doesn't even explain what she is doing, I feel like a lost child in this class and I am usually an A student... I'll be lucky to get a C+ this semester with SI.
People pick on Dr. Taylor like its going out of style. BUT, given the latter attacks, I'll highlight her better side. She's humble, friendly, quirky...but...oh well, she's extremely cynical about her job. She doesn't seem to enjoy what she does. If you're good at chemistry, you'll do fine though.
She hates math. CHEM112 is almost all math. Particularly she shuns calculus like its satan. CHEM112 is all about calculus (or at least high-level math). She doesn't understand math, so she doesn't really even know what she's doing. You do the....math. I'm just warning earnest students. Oh, and she's extremely cynical but not funny.
Alright. I wish someone would have just told me up front what this class would be like on this Rate My Professor site... so here goes. DO NOT take this class if you don't mind INCREDIBLY long and tests that are so hard, I would call them evil. The practice problems do nto reflect tests. You will work VERY hard to achieve a C or a C+. Warning.
I am not a chem major and I am in the SNAP program and still managed to earn an A- in the class. Dr. Taylor is a great, enthusiastic teacher that does not receive near enough credit. Don't be afraid to take her class just because you actually have to work hard for a good grade. Showing her hard work and good effort will pay off in your final grade!
honestly i love dr.taylor, she was always perky and sweet and she tried her best to make class interesting, she is great as a person...but her tests are hard as hell, i studied my ass off and barely passed with a C, she tries but she doesnt explain the math sections very well she just expects you to catch on
Those who can't do, teach...I feel really bad for all of the undergrads having to endure Taylor; I am now in my 3rd year of med school and I had the "joy" of having her for Gen Chem II; In the real world, it's really not that hard AND the math can actually be explained!!! Don't worry kids, it is only temporary; like ripping off a bandaid!
Dr. Taylor is an AWESOME person. She's really funny, nice, and easy to get along with. She really knows her stuff when it comes to chemistry. That being said, she is NOT a good teacher. Her teaching style is very hard to understand and her tests are ridiculously hard. I highly recommend taking Dr. Donato if he is available over taking Taylor.
She is dim witted but spirited...
She's AWESOME!
I had Dr. Taylor for Gen Chem 2 and she's a really funny/helpful professor. There are quizzes almost everyday however which can either help you or hurt you. She drops one test and 5 quizzes at the end of the semester. Test are not that difficult as long as you go to class and take the supplemental power point notes. I got an As on the tests.
Dr. Taylor was extrememly helpful. Her test were difficult, but as long as you study the quizzes you should be fine. The SI for her class was so helpful. I would definitely recommend to take Dr. Taylor.
Ok so HATE Chemistry LOVE Dr. Taylor. I struggled in chem 111 and excelled in her class. She explains the material very well and is very helpful with her students. There are frequent quizzes but always an extra credit! Plus they aren't that bad! Wish I could have her now for Organic :( Do yourself a favor...TAKE her class!!
great teacher, very fun class. extremely easy and you'll want to go to class. TAKE HER!!
I've never once felt it necessary to "rate my professor" until i met Dawn Taylor. This lady is witty, talkative, and fun to be around. She takes time to teach you the material and her class is fairly easy. If you go to class and do the practice test before taking the actual test it would be practically impossible to make below a B in this class.
She's such a good teacher! she really cares about her students grade. She will explain it perfectly to you. Take her if you can!
She is AWESOME! Soooo funny and nice, she really wants you to learn and will not waste your time. Gives you many charts to use on tests which help soo much. Really is a great teacher.
Dr. Taylor is easy. She neglects logic and teaches with charts, pictures, and cutesy analogies. She's great if you're just trying to get the credit. She skipped sections out of several chapters, and one entire chapter. About 70% of the final seemed completely foreign. If you care about your education, take anyone else.
easiest chem teacher for 111, she is freaking awesome !!
I LOVE Dr. TAYLOR! TAKE HER!!! She is more than willing to help out her students. She loves to teach, and even though she gets off on story tangents in class, she gets the material covered and makes sure you understand it. The tests are easy if you study well enough, no mandatory homework, daily quizzes (STUDY) she drops grades too!
I heart Dr. Taylor, but who said she was easy ? cuz she aint!!!!!
Dr. Taylor is really awesome, her test are kinda hard to be honest, but you can go to office hours and sit with her and do homework, she is awesome
She is an awesome person very fun. She has easy quizzes out of 10 at the beginning of every class 5 point for putting your name. but her test are VERY hard
good luck getting any help during office hours....her office is filled with people talking about every but chemistry...
Dr. Taylor is the best! She is extremely helpful, and really wants for her students to understand the concepts. The material is difficult, and takes a lot of work outside of class to succeed. If you put in the effort, you will do great! DT is such a great person and wonderful professor. I took her for 111 and 112,and would recommend her to anyone!
Dr. Taylor is a great teacher. She is very enthusiastic. Super witty which may seem odd at first, but she really grows on you. She tells you what will be on test so there are no surprises. I highly recommend her. I plan on taking her for 112.
She is a completely ineffective instructor. She is unable to do undergraduate level math (a requirement for the course) and even seems to get lost on the Chemistry concepts. Take someone else if you want to learn Chemistry.
You were on your own to learn the material and guess what would be on the exam. The wording from her lecture notes are different than when it is presented on the exams, causing confusion and misinterpretation.Wouldn't recommend taking a course with her unless you are very comfortable with the subject.
Took this class as a refresher for chem 111. Taylor is an awesome prof even though she seems a little crazy at first. She'll goof on in the middle of class and make it entertaining. She makes learning chemistry fun… which is nearly impossible. Take her if you can!
I learned a lot from her. funny and a great teacher.
If you don't take Dr. Taylor for Organic lab, you're doing it all wrong.
Dr. Taylor is incredible. She is an amazing person and an exceptional teacher. She cares about students and will do whatever it takes to see students succeed.
She's quite great at what she does. I mean she will get a little distracted from time to time and you will run out of lessons to learn but unlike other professors she actually knows how to sink things into student brains. She doesn't just stand and lecture-- she interacts with the class. Its actually fun going to her class and she's really sweet.
Dr. Taylor is by far the best professor to take for organic lab. Super helpful and extremely kind. You will be expected to do some things on your own, but she is really good about helping you when you need it and making you not feel stupid when asking questions. She is the nicest and funniest professor I have had up until now!
Her personality is great, but as a chemistry major, I feel completely unprepared for Organic. Most of her tests and quizzes were take home and she didnt really go by the book, which the final is based on. They're pretty tough as well. I also do not feel as if I learned anything since the work was "handed" to us.
