This guy is an arrogant nerd! His quizzes are so impossible and he even takes off for misspellings! He's way too excited about chemistry and he just oozes arrogance. The only thing that was good was that the exams were all multiple choice.

I took Chem 166 with Dr. Cambell and it's one of the hardest chem classes at BU. He worked hard to help you to understand the material and was also willing to help during office hours. You need to put a lot of work into this course to do well.

VERY hard class, but he is helpful. Go into office hours every week and you will pull through with a great deal of studying and effort. A very good instructor, good examples and fairly good explanations of material. Highly recommend this professor.

I read all the chapters, took notes, did the homeowork and listened in class and I could just never do good. He talks about alot of stuff but thats not what is on the quizzes or tests. He marks off for the stupidest things like spelling.

Terrible! The quizzes are harder than the actual exams. I went to every class, took notes, studyed, and did the homework and I still did badly! The only good thing was the exams were curved very low. Avoid taking any chemistry classes if you can!

The class is as easy as you make it. If you want to succeed, Campbell will help you. Honestly, he is a very good guy...unlike many teachers I've had a Bradley.

I didn't have him as a professor I had Rakoff which was horrible so to get help, Campbell allowed me sit in on all his classes and he helped me in his office hours too. He was great and I would have taken him origanlly if he had had a lab with his CHM149.

I took him for CHM 161 and 162. If you have to take a science class take him. 161 and 162 are hard has hell but its not his fault. Its the material. He gives out great powerpoint notes and is very helpful and willing during office hours. One of the best.

this class should not be called 'intro' to chem ...this guy is way too smart to teach an intro class ...however the tests are curved ridiculously (because EVERYONE does bad!) dont take him if u're looking for an A!

Dr. Campbell seems to want to help, but his grading of exams seems very unfair. The other two instructors graded their exams differently. He says come to his office hours, but seems like he does not care. Chem 166 is a weed out class, be careful of this.

Very difficult course, but he made it as painless as possible. Uses language and examples that you can relate to, and breaks everything down into small steps to make it easy to follow. Tests are killers, but the curve is pretty much astronomical.

Sounds like kermit the frog, very annoying. Doesn't do that great of a job making things clear. Tests have things on them that AREN'T covered in class. Do not buy his packet of past tests, its worthless!!!

Campbell is the worst teacher I have ever had. He is incredibly arrogant, egotistical, and condescending towards students. He is also lazy, sloppy, and makes several mistakes on quizzes and test keys. Not very accessible to students and hostile about discussing concepts with you if you challenge or question what he says. Ridiculous.

I was extremely disappointed with this professor. His tests, quizes, and pp slides consistently had mistakes on them and the students would be the ones to find them. He is not helpful when asked questions and is condesending when asked for help. I felt personally insulted numerous times for comments that were made to me when I asked for help.

Class was very difficult, but that was more the design of the course rather than the teaching of the professor. However, he did very little to help make the class easier. Tests and quizzes were very difficult and very strictly graded. Often there were mistakes in questions. Could have been much more helpful.

If you want to receive a B for A work, this is the professor for you! Besides making mistakes on quizzes and notes, which resulted in time spent on unsolvable problems, he figures the grade breakdown by comparing with past classes! My gut feeling is that he would rather not teach in the summer.

He is one of the best chem teachers i've ever had, if you go to class he respects you, and he makes sure you understand something fully before he moves on...it's really nice! The only better chem teacher i could think of would be Taylor...he's just amazingly adorable!! The best!

Dr Campbell's class is very demanding. It is possible to get an A but very difficult, definitely requires to do all homework for practice (he doesn't collect it). Class average for exams is about 65%. Use the notes from blackboard but definitely read the book as well if you want to do well.I'd say a B is a very good grade in this class.

The class itself is very hard but he is a really good Professor. If you go and talk with him, he will try to help you out with whatever problem that you are having. He makes the Quizes really hard but the test are usually a lot easier. Just go to class and he explains everything very clearly.

Dr. Campbell is definitely a challenging teacher. It is extremely difficult to get an A in this course, but he is very helpful if you're willing to put in the work. Sometimes, he can get cranky and lash out at sections who do a relatively good job paying attention and asking questions, but otherwise a nice guy. Don't be fooled, he's difficult.

Dr. Campbell is an okay professor. He does keep you awake and will help if you have any questions. One of the previous reviews is right though, he does get a little cranky at times. Quizes were always tough because you would study everything and he would still get you on the little details. Overall, he's not too bad, though.

I had him for lab...He is ok. He is very strict about how many people you work with, almost mean about it. Doesnt smile a lot. But he is ok. If you take lab with him u'll be ok. I would just ask the lab assistants for questions instead of asking him

I had him for both CHM110 and CHM116. He demands that people ask questions, but when you do he is often quite condescending. If you want to be treated like a fourth grader take this class. He hounds you non-stop. I guess it works though... but I didn't enjoy it.

Dean Campbell has an odd name and I got him in a class that listed a different professor.... Very unfriendly and is ridiculous in class. I did not sign up to take him as but was surprised to find him in my class anyway. He was a disrespectful to me personally and is a hypocritical monster. DO NOT take him if you can.

Ah, the wonderful Chemistry 112. Campbell was a decent enough professor, but the way Bradley has this class set up is just ridiculous. You find yourself thinking, "I paid what for this?" Hmm... Bradley needs to fix this problem. The profs are adequate, but the class size is too darn big and too impersonal for what it costs. Boo...hiss...

Dean Campbell is a nice man overall. He really does want all his students to pass with a C or better. Make sure you do well on the sakai quizzes and do your best to prepare for the exams. The class is 8am so make sure u go to take the in-class quizzes, these make a big difference in the end. The class has a sweet curve, at least my section did.

This class is absolutely terrible. He does not teach the material well enough and does not care if students succeed in his class. His tests are impossible. I am a good student and receive good grades, but his class just about killed me.

Took as Chemistry major. Dr. Campbell is more than willing to help anyone who asks for it. The only people who do not do well are those who do not try and do not care. He has office hours and an open door policy and is always willing to help. I highly recommend him for CHM 110 and CHM 116.

Dr. C is one of the best profs in the Chem Dept. He teaches a hard subject and those who don't put for the the effort are going to hate the class. Taken him for multiple Chem classes and would highly recommend him.

My favorite professor this semester by far. He presents the material very clearly in his powerpoints every day. The tests are difficult, but he writes them for the whole department so pay attention in class. Do the readings and the online assignments and you will be fine.

Dr. Campbell was my favorite professor that I had this semester. He is very helpful and always willing to meet you for office hours if you have any questions. The class itself is not easy at all and it takes a lot of time and effort but he is great at guiding you through it. I would definitely recommend him.

Dr.C knows what he's talking about. That's for sure. The only problem I had is that he likes to play favorites. I once missed an assignment and asked for an extension with no luck. I later found out that another student in the class was given an extension for the same assignment and for no better reason than mine. watever, just get on his good side

This is the next step in your chemistry classes and the material is hard. Dean Campbell does a great job of explaining it in ways that relate and ways that make sense. Chemistry is hard and he wants you to learn it, but he understands that not everyone loves chem like he does. Super helpful if you ask

Pardon the grammar I'm limited to 350 characters so he gives a quiz at the start of EVERY class, he is very disrespectful he screamed at a student for using his laptop, he uses mastering chemistry, his exams are very difficult, he doesnt curve anything, his class is way more difficult than need be. Take it at ICC and you are guaranteed an A.

Chemistry is my absolute worst subject but he's definitely one of my preferred professors that I've had in it. He's really helpful in office hours. Practice a lot. This class involves a lot of algebraic math and chemistry concepts so just work hard for this class. Knowing the nomenclature and remembering some things from Chem 110 is important.

Probably the worst chemistry teacher at Bradley. Doesn't explain things you need to know for the test and talks about things that are irrelevant. Gives quizzes every single day and the problems he gives are pretty much impossible. The way that he explains things are also way harder than it needs to be.

Great prof, genuinely cares. However, expects a bit much for this course, which is required for ME students who don't need the depth of knowledge he expects. Daily quizzes are a bit much. Not usually easy questions & nobody has time to study that much to prep for them. Overall, expects too much for ME majors but excellent and helpful instructor.

Chemistry comes to me pretty naturally so I didn't have a hard time but I know other people for sure did. Expect to do a lot of practice problems in class. I know some people think he's a jerk and he can be at times, but I think he just cares about your success and demands a lot from you, I just think he could go at it a different way. Hard course

Dr. Campbell did a terrible job teaching his students that were remote only. There were never class meetings with students and the only time offered for help were inaccessible office hours instead of the time in our schedules for the lab. He was extremely nitpicky when grading and constantly found reasons to take off the most menial points possible

He is a nice man but makes students feel dumb sometimes. Ask a lot of questions in the lab and he is always willing to help but sometimes if it's not his way it's wrong even when it really is right. The class is easy if you do your work and he is always open to questions.

Dr Campbell wants you to understand Chemistry, however he expects way to much from his students for one credit hour course. His preecorded lectures are lengthy with PPT slides that overlap way too many times. The recorded live lectures are unwatchable and will call out the class in a very defensive manner. Did not enjoy the online experience

He was a funny person but seemed overall unhappy teaching freshmen and was extremely difficult. He always assumed you had already learned everything so he'd just speed through every topic and always say "You guys already learned this" when I, in fact, had not. He'd also respond a little rudely if you asked him questions, making him unapproachable.

Dr. Campbell is very kind & relatable. He offers weekly extra credit through SI/PPS sessions. Repeated this class after taking with a different professor and Dr. Campbell made the material much easier to learn. The class is weighted (87%=A, etc). Be prepared to allocate a lot of time to studying (ALEKs & textbook problems) for this class.

Prof. Campbell is a great professor but his class is really hard if you have no background in the subject. There are also quizzes every Wednesday and a lot of homework assigned throughout the week. Be prepared for the next few weeks of your life to just be Chemistry.

Dr. Campbell very clearly cares about the subject and his students. 3 exams and project w/ a few small homework assignments. Lectures are very entertaining and he often has demos. You do have to do a lot of studying on your own, but that's expected.

I appreciate him showing he cares, but he's a little too much. This class is difficult and time consuming, and you will be worn out very quickly. There's no breaks, either, as three missed classes will lose you a letter grade and there are quizzes every other day. Don't take this class if you don't have to, but if you do, Campbell isn't half bad.

The class was hard but fair. Campbell was dedicated to the class, and always tried to connect it to environmental issues going on outside the lecture. Non-chemistry majors might have a harder time with certain assignments, but it's not impossible.

This class is difficult, and he doesn't give you the help to succeed. There is a quiz every other class and when everyone fails it he gets upset and says he's disappointed. The PPS sessions are supposed to be extra credit but they go in as normal grades. Half of the lectures is him talking about useless information. Do not take this class with him.

While I appreciate Dr. Campbells enthusiasm for teaching, this class is very frustrating and difficult. There's a quiz every other lecture so be prepared for that. He chooses the most difficult problems for the quizzes. If you go to him he will help you out as he is available via zoom almost every night.
